He has a hard time getting to the actual point of the subject matter. Will take an hour to explain one little thing that could easily be explained in 15 minutes or less. Expresses his own view points to the class (i.e. - abortion, religion, etc.).

So I'm doing OK so far - just read the book and watch the lectures. So far haven't gotten below an 83 on his exams. They are straight from the book. Just went to the SOAP session and it really changed my mind about this prof! I was dreading it but it ended up being FUN and really important information! READ, WATCH, ATTEND, and PASS (easily)!

You have to read the book to get an A. The study guides to the exams basically cover the whole book. Also, he includes some weird questions on the exams to make sure you're watching the lectures (I took the online class) so make sure you watch or listen to them. He uses allot of analogies for the points he wants to make - some are confusing.

Great professor who is unconventional but highly effective. It is a sham that more students are not open to what he has to offer. Clearly, he cares about students, loves his work (what a refreshing change this is) and has great insights into management, leadership and working with people. My favorite professor ever!

He's an autocratic leader. He preaches that leaders should have charisma, yet he totally lacks everything he says we should be as leaders. His viewpoint is totally parochialistic. Having written the book, it's alarming how little ability Cleavenger has to follow its content in class. 3 hours of rambling about stories of his life, none of which having to do with management. Unfortunately he is the only professor teaching this class. Use the review sheets the GTAs give intensely to make it in this class.

Prof. Cleavenger wrote the textbook for this course which makes it blend easily with his lectures. During his lectures he relates the material to the professional world as well as life itself. The exams do require you to attend or watch the lecture captures. Of the 50 questions, 12- 15 are from his stories during lectures.
