Awesome professor. He really wants you to learn law. He keeps class interesting and fun. Due to his excellent communication, the tests are that much easier. Very charismatic.

The CBA could learn a lot from teachers like Cost. Cost keeps us interested in the law from his personal experience. Cost should teach professors at the CBA how to work with students, the college would be a better place ;o)

AWESOME CLASS! He has great stories, makes learning law really fun. Some stuff was boring, but that's to be expected. Really cool class. I never missed a day.He just needed to stop calling on that annoying girl who always raised her hand.

He was a very intersting teacher. I liked his personal experiences in the class rather than just book crap. He lets you know at the end of the chapter what you need to know. This was one of the best classes I've ever taken. He is one of the best professors as well. Great class, highly recommended!

Good teacher. Interesting stories. Especially the first one about being one of the best prosecutors in guam. Strange how there is no information about that anywhere hehe. High gallop running demonstration hehe. "That one was so easy you don't deserve a checkmark...yes you do don't take that from me."

Mr. Cost is an awesome teacher. Easily understood, good material, and always had examples/stories (most of them funny) to explain laws (and torts). He recommends a voice recorder for his class.

Cost is an awsome teacher. His tests are supper easy, class participation is you being called on once or twice over the whole semester. He's funny and isn't boring. Take him if you have a chance. blaw isn't easy to teach but he does a great job doing it.

Good class you just have to go everytime

Remember his new corvette, his wife's name, his car's license plate. Might wanna take it in Fall - his christmas spirit kicks in quite early, if you know what I mean. Xtra credit is to visit court and write report, not the hardest thing to do. Plus you learn 1-2 things about the court system, in case somebody shaft you or just a case of stink eye.

Best teacher I've had a uh so far...would probably be a boring class if it wasnt for him, he has the best stories and is very expirienced,and he's rockin the pony tail

Like everyone else said, he is byfar the best teacher I've had at UH. He definitely knows his stuff and he makes class interesting all the time. Make sure you purchase a recorder, and take really good notes.

This professor is simply brilliant. His knowledge of the subject is top notch being a former lawyer, he's clear on what's going to be on tests and his lectures are so interesting. This teacher isn't a pushover, it's just that he helps you learn the material and tells you what you should know for the midterms. Best professor I've had at UH.

Great professor. One of the reasons I went to law school. So hilarious at times too. I'll never forget the Viagra license plate, & the story of how he dug through the garbage for "abandoned" property.

Great guy and great teacher. You do need to study for the 3 tests, but really it is a good class and I recommend him.

Teachers don't get any better than this. One of the few teachers that really is here for us.

He is a great teacher. Attend all classes and write down everything he says. Memorize vocab and do case studies (some are on the midterms). Final exam was a piece of cake. He offers extra credit, too.

Everyone told me that Cost was an AMAZING professor and that i just HAD to take the class. DOn't be fooled. Cost is very funny I laugh every class and he is a very good professor. But you do need to keep up with the reading and make sure you stay attentive. 1 hr and 15 min is a long time to say engaged when there is losts of detailed information

Cost is the best! His lectures are detailed, funny and full of life. I looked forward to his lectures bcs I knew I would always learn something interesting and it'll be fun too. Go to class bcs all his exam questions come from his lectures, especially for the final.He's fair and has an extra credit assignment. I hardly read the book and got an A.

Cost is the best! i enjoyed his class very much and learned a lot too. He explains boring law stuff collaborating real life with lots of humor. He keeps his lectures very interesting and the tests are pretty easy as long as you listen to his lectures.

I got a B+ and never read the textbook except the 1st 2 or three chapters. The material may or may not be difficult, depending on what your strengths are, but the information is very practical and useful regardless of your major. The two midterms were pretty challenging but the final was quite easy. Gives out lots of exam questions in class.

Dean Cost makes class very interesting, lectures are great and work is always pertinent. This should be the one required class for all UH students, the only class that will actually apply to every student's life after graduation, and UH has one of their very best teaching it.

This teacher is awsome!I thought that Businesslaw was going to be boring and hard. He makes everyday intertaining with fun lectures. You volenteer in class to get your class participation points. Class isnt mandatory but you should go becuase he tells you the exact questions that will be on the tests. 2 midterms and one final.. Extra credit too. :)

Really great instructor. He keeps his lectures entertaining yet you learn a lot of very valuable information, regardless of your major. Exams are very easy as long as you attend class and study mildly right before exams. No homework.

This guy is the man! Very humorous & will keep you interested in class with real life examples. Topics are helpful in life. Go to class b/c if you get called on to answer a Q & you're not there, you get a minus. Participation & 3 exams makes up the final grade. Exams weren't the easiest (I don't do well on multiple-choice exams) But I managed a B+.

Very interesting. Keeps you interested and helps you out as much as possible. Probably the best professor in UH system. No homework which can be a plus or minus. Has a lot of helpful information even if you're not going into law.

Interesting class, interesting professor. Cost is down to earth and has lots of great stories to tell. The work load is low and the tests are fairly easy. You will learn a lot in this class.

There's a reason why he teaches all the sections of this class. He's a great teacher! Uses funny stories that help you remember the info, and constantly involves the class so you can recall important vocab and ideas. Also, since he's the only teacher, it's easy to get a study group!

Attendance is mandatory. Calls on students for participation credit and overall a funny guy with a good attitude for teaching. Only really need to study for exam 2 to pull a fair grade in the class

I guess times have changed as you needed to be in class to get points. however, you had to volunteer instead of being called on. Very entertaining guy with the stories, but you will need a tape recorder or take good notes. I did badly on all 3 exams, being consistently ranked in the 10 student group who did bad on the test. Make sure you study.

Cost is by far one of the best professors I've ever had! He actually knows his material and knows how to keep his student's attention. There's a lot of reading, but he explains everything. He calls on people when you get to the cases, but volunteer a lot and he won't call on you. Study everything he writes on the board and you'll do fine.

As a professor, as a leader, as a man, and as the "Best criminal prosecutor in the fricken universe," he is of the highest kind, quality, and order. Supreme.

TAKE HIS CLASS. Business major? Take it. Art Major? Take it. Basket weaver downtown? Take it. It applies to life and will save you some bumps in the road in the future. Incredibly clear lecturer and I wish he taught other classes. Book is a must but edition doesn't matter as much as he says. They just scramble case # page. Look it up in index.

Cost is an AMAZING teacher! He makes his class worth getting up every morning! The things you learn in his class are important for any and everyone! It is important to make sure to attend every class you can, and to record every lecture. As long as you do that, the class is easy. He is a great, funny, smart teacher.

Great teacher! If you want an A though, you really got to get your head around basic law. Other than that - you'll most likely get a B or B+ in his class (no minus grades). Offers a grade point extra credit if you go to court and write a 3 page paper. He looks like he loves what he does! It's obvious and he keeps you up in class.

Makes class interesting. However, you must attend class and pay attention. It is helpful to tape record his lectures and listen back to them before the exam because he mentions many of the questions for the exam during lecture. If you want a good grade, you need to study!! While the class is easy, there are three exams that you MUST study for! And take a lot of notes! Extremely important!

Go to class everyday because the exam is based on his lectures and he gives away answers. BLAW is a very dense subject, but Cost makes it very easy to understand. Grade is based on attendance (answering 2 questions in class), 2 midterms, and the final. Do the extra credit that he offers. It is a whole letter grade boost.I would highly recommend him

Cost is the only BLAW professor at UH, but it totally makes sense why UH only has one. This guy knows his law really well, and is actually able to teach it pretty well. Tons of great stories compliment his lectures and he turns a boring subject into a lecture that you look forward to. Tests are easy if you study and go to class and participate.

I thought this subject was going to be horribly boring but he makes everything so clear and interesting that its impossible not to learn the material if you just show up to class. Take him before he retires. One of the best professor in UH Manoa. There are 3 exams throughout the course and attendance is required if he calls on you. Textbook is needed. He gives you extra credit if you go to court and write a 2 page essay about your experience. You will learn a lot.

The best professor I've ever had. Three exams in total, non-cumulative. He asks you to record the lecture so you have the chance to listen to it later on. It's been really helpful. Easy exams as long as you study. Two pages paper for visiting courthouse as an extra credit. Hilarious and everything. Can't find the right word to describe. Love him!!!

World's greatest professor, but this was his last semester. He could inspire anyone in that room to become a law student. He is so hilarious and wise and leaves you clinging to every word he speaks. I never knew the law could be so interesting! noncumulative exams, no homework besides a few cases, and chance for 10 points extra credit at the end.
