Manong Dean is the best! He's young, so he can relate to what we go through as students. Always accepts late work as long as you do it and understand the content. Super chill classes. Extra credit opportunities galore! ALWAYS has time for you if you need it. I wish all professors were like him.
Manong Dean is one of the best teachers at UH Manoa to be honest. He is extremely helpful if you have a difficult time understanding the content and is available outside of class as well if you have any questions. I would recommend him for anyone who is interested in learning the Ilokano language.
Manong Dean, is one awesome instructor to be teaching the Ilokano language at UH. Very committed to helping his students succeed, with extra credit, getting extra help at his office, etc. I can see his passion for carrying on the legacy of the Ilokano program. Definitely, recommend taking his class!
Let me tell you about Manong Dean; he is the most caring and the most helpful professor out there. If you need ANYTHING to talk about, he is your go to guy. As far as this course, there is no way you'll be able to fail his class. Highly recommend ILO 202 for filipinos and other ethnicities to learn the beautiful culture of the Ilokano's.
Professor or Manong Dean is a great professor, I took him for ILO 202 and he took pride and show enthusiasm in the lessons and truly made class fun. I highly encourage others to take this professor if available.
Manong Dean is able to relate to his students. He's flexible, integrates creative teaching methods, and is always available for help. He's very accommodating as long as you do your work and learn your material.
Manong Dean is a great instructor. He can be laid-back but he knows and teaches his content well. He tries to make it easy for his students to get good grades. He's encouraging, easy to talk to, and caring. I'm going to be taking his class again for ILO 202 so I'm excited!
Manong Dean has a unique way of approaching a language class. You are allowed to be creative in assignments and projects, and you also speak more in Ilokano which is good for improving speech skills. He also makes in-class assignments and quizzes easier to understand since learning Ilokano can be difficult. Overall, his class very enjoyable.
Manong Dean has an interesting way of teaching. This semester we did next to nothing ,testing out a new textbook. Be prepared for the creative assignments on filpgrid and in class. Makes learning the language easy since he's local born and still kinda young so he can relate to students. Also makes his tungtongan sessions a big deal so do them.
Dean Domingo has given fun and interactive projects for us students to enjoy and understand the lesson that is being taught instead of having lectures and long reading materials.
In this class, we did projects, group work and movies instead of lectures and reading to help us understand the lessons. I was able to use my creativity in this class by doing many designing and acting. I would recommend this class.
In this class, Manong Dean got creative and decided for the class to teach each other than him spending two and a half hours talking and reading. Each group had a module and taught the modules to our classmates by providing a powerpoint, review game and quiz. We were able to get creative and learn the material needed for this class.
Manong dean has helped the students a lot in understanding the Ilokano language and is available to those who may need extra help
Manong dean gives good feedback on work and willing to help those who have a hard time understanding. Not too strict with deadlines which is a plus.
Manong Dean is a great instructor who is always willing to help and easy to talk to. He is also very understanding and offers a lot of extra credit so you have a lot of opportunities to improve your grade. The work load is also very manageable as long as you keep track of your assignments.
Manong Dean really knows his Ilocano! He's very patient and understanding with his students. If you at least try and show some effort and do the work you'll do well.
Manong Dean is very accommodating, he is accessible outside of class, and gives you the opportunity to make up assignments if you talk to him. I would recommend getting to know your classmates because you guys can learn off of each other!
Dean Domingo is more than a professor. He is easy to talk to and connect. The way that he teaches the class is very simple and creative to where the students can show their creativity through projects.
This course is not something you learn through lectures paperwork. The way that Dean Domingo designed this to teach this course was very effective because it allowed all the students, to learn the material through creative projects and group work. This class is small so all of us students were able to get along.
My favorite class ever! Manong Dean is pretty cool and chill. Show up to class, do your work and youll be fine. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities too so take advantage of those. Would definitely take the class again.
Great professor. Really understands students and knows that you have a lot of stuff going on, so lets you turn in things late for full credit.
Manong Dean is one of the best professors in the university. He really cares for his students and always tries to make class engaging and fun. His assignments are doable and most of the time, you can finish majority of it in class since he always lets you work in groups. His exams are also easy as he tells you want to expect on the exams.
Manong Dean gives out a reasonable amount of classwork that can be easily finished in class. It also helps to work in groups to learn and finish classwork faster. He also goes over the work to help us review. This makes studying for exams to be very easy. Overall, great class.
I absolutely enjoyed learning from Manong Dean. I've taken him for 2 semesters and he always makes his classes fun and engaging. He structures the assignments so that you're able to work in groups and collaborate with other students, which makes learning the language a lot easier. He's also very easy to talk to whenever you need help.
Monong Dean is a very great professor and I would definitely take him again. He has clear grading criteria and is a very light grader. You mainly read and write essays for each reading section and present two of those. Overall, great class.
Manong Dean is an awesome professor. It was easy to talk to him and ask questions. Most of the time we interact/work together and time goes by very quickly. As long as you go to every class and participate it will be fun and enjoyable.
Manong Dean gives you many opportunities to get everything in. Class is essay heavy but not difficult, and students present modules in groups.
Manong Dean is so chill. Just show up to class and do the work. Sometimes class doesn't even feel like class because we just hang out and talk stories. Awesome professor. Would take again and would recommend. Very understanding and caring.
Manong Dean is a great professor! He is very understanding and cares for his students. Attendance was mandatory but I enjoyed attending his class. Just do your work and if you ever need help or feel behind, he is always available to meet up with you.
Best class by far! Manong Dean is a great professor and I would definitely take his course again. From the start, everything pertaining towards the grading criteria were very clear. In class, you mainly read modules and write essays for each of the readings. You also have to present two of those modules in groups. Overall, this was a great class.
Manong Dean was a lot of fun to take for ILO201. He made sure that he gave paperwork on time and made documents easily accessible to students. When you're absent he would reach out to you to make sure you're up to date with the work. He's very reasonable with grading and assignments.
IP 364 was really chill with Manong Dean. Easy going and made the class fit to the students needs. He's a clear grader on what he expects for the presentations and essays. Exams are clear as long as you go to class, read the documents and watch the movie. Great teacher and clear directions for the class.
I like how organized his class was. The subjects went according to modules that we have to read. There are two group presentations on these modules that are followed by a movie related to it. Very chill, but you learn a lot about Philippine pop culture. I also like that he does his finals early, so you can study for your other classes.
I took this course for the O focus and the WI. It was an easy class. All you had to do was write 6 essays, take quizzes for each module, do two group presentations, and participate in a video contest by making a group video project. This course is mostly self-directed. The professor is very knowledgeable and lets you make up missed quizzes.
It was helpful that all the readings were provided online through laulima. The course allows everyone to work in groups to understand and complete the readings and projects. The professor is very understanding and patient.
Dr. Domingo is a very helpful and knowledgeable professor. For this course we were given modules to read on topics of Philippine pop culture and write 3 page essays for each module. We were also assigned presentations in groups to share our knowledge with the class. The professor made these tasks easy with supplementary material and discussions.
Manong Dean is a very nice and caring instructor for the Ilokano Program. He is very accessible and understanding. He knows the content very well and structures the class in a way that is very comfortable and fun. Would definitely recommend everyone to take him!
Manang Dean is an awesome professor that is able to deliver the content very well and in a comfortable and participatory way.
Very chill and helps with understanding the material better. Will be there if you have any questions or concerns and he will clarify anything that is misunderstood. He is good with being on top of everything even after having to grade many papers.
Very easygoing and will give the help you need. Always on top of everything even with having many papers to grade.
Manong Dean was a great professor to have this semester. I love his understanding, calm, and patient nature when it came to teaching the course content. He made sure all of his students understood and were on track of what was being taught throughout the semester.
Dean was one of the chillest teacher's I've ever had. He's super understanding and just an overall nice dude. Just show up to class, watch movies, and play kahoot games after paying attention to group presentations, and write six 3-page essays that aren't too bad, and you should be good.
Always very understanding and willing to help and answer questions.
Manong Dean is a very great instructor. He's very understanding and very helpful when you need it!
Professor Domingo was a great teacher, and great person. He is very understanding when it comes to work being completed on time. Although you do need to write a decent amount, the class was a upper division WI, so it was expected. The in class videos and presentations made the 2:30 minute class times fly by.
Professor Domingo plans objectives well and cares about students. He gives extra credit reasonably and is very flexible with due dates. Mostly group projects during the semester and the subjects presented are entertaining and informative.
Prof Dean is the best teacher ever. He's really chill and down to earth. Always willing to listen and work things out with students. I recommend taking his IP364 class if you need a Upper division WI, E, or OC. As long as you do the work and come to class you'll be walking away with that A.
Prof. Domingo was by far one of the most understanding and down-to-earth professors I've had. He gives us an unlimited amount of time to do the 7 essays. The essays are super easy. There are in-class quizzes, 1 midterm, and a final, all of which are easy if you pay attention in class and do the readings. I loved this class, EASY A!
Very good professor, chill, understanding, interesting class
Manong Dean is very understanding and cares a lot about his students. He makes the objectives of the class clear from the start. All of the readings and films for this class were very interesting and relevant to what we were learning. He also gives many extra credit opportunities.
Dean is a really laid back and understanding professor. If you need UD, WI, E, OC with lots of flexibility for extensions/due dates, I'd recommend this class As long as you do the assignments and participate, you can't fail.
Great professor! If you need a WI, E, O credit, then I would definitely recommend taking this course from Dean.
He is a great professor! If you need any E, OC, DH and WI class, definitely take this class with him. All you do for this class is just group presentations, watch some films and documentary, and write essays for the modules. There are one midterm and one short final. If you did everything, there is no chance to fail.
Prof. Dean Domingo for IP 364 is a good professor to take. Took this class because it is a WI, Oral, and Ethics credits. Good extra credit opportunities and it should be really hard to fail this class, just keep up with the papers and work on group presentations. Easy work, just a little tedious.
Definitely the chillest professor I've encountered at UH. He's organized and has a clear grading criteria. You have to write a lot in this class but he's super understanding when it comes to needing more time. You also have to present twice but you're in groups, so it's not so bad. I'd recommend this class to anyone that needs a WI and O.
So you have around 7-8 essays and 2 presentations. This is a good class with a good professor as you are receiving a writing and oral communications credit. My word of advice is to not hold out on the essays. You do get multiple opportunities for extra credit so that is a plus.
This is one class that didn't stress me out this semester but provided an adequate amount of homework/presentations/essay so you feel you're doing something. He also provides a TON of extra credit opportunities, so if you feel like you're not doing so well you can salvage your grade with that. Very understanding and easy to communicate.
Great professor. He is very understanding and provides clear objectives about the course.
Dean made every effort to make sure that everyone has a good opportunity to pass as long as they show up to class and do the homework. Really lax on due dates.
Very laidback professor, lenient with due dates very easy final gives extra credit chances so it's hard to fail this class
Manong Dean is a respectful, understanding, and knowledgable lecturer. He shows passion in the content he teaches and is knowing of all things Ilokano - both in language and culture. He is very understanding when it comes to his students and has a straightforward class guideline that is easy to follow. I definitely would take his classes again!
Really straight forward. Keeps it real, and treats students like human beings who have things going on in their lives besides this one particular class.
One the best professor in the school. As long as you complete the assigned task, it should not be a difficult class. The grading criteria are very straight forward. Since this course is a writing-intensive course, it is required to write a minimum of 16 pages, but it's just a reflection and your own thoughts about the lecture
Everything is straight forward. minimal tasks for the WI course.
Dean Domingo is a super cool teacher. I highly recommend taking him if you have the opportunity. He's very laid back and helps us relieve some stress on the heavy writing requirement. Not strict with due dates which I found extremely helpful! Class is focused on group module lecture presentations. lots of extra credit opportunities. Overall, great.
Manong Dean is the best! He genuinely cares about his students. He is lenient with essay due dates. He also provides extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. I definitely recommend taking this class! You will not regret it!
He's very helpful when you have questions regarding Philippine pop culture. Shows a lot of movies and documentaries which are super important for writing the modular essays. He's really lenient with essay deadlines as long as you turn it in before the semester ends.
Dean is really accommodating and understands that students have heavy workloads, so you can ask for indefinite extensions for the six essays he'll assign you throughout the semester. You have to do 2 powerpoints with your group and a video assignment. He's very understanding and friendly but the readings can be thick.
Manong Dean is very considerate about his students' busy schedules and is willing to extend deadlines if needed for the essays. The reading material for the essays were sometimes difficult to read, but the movies we watched in class were interesting and fun. I definitely recommend this class for writing intensive and other focus requirements!!
Mr. Domingo was a great teacher. He was very lenient with the deadlines as you just had to get all the essays in before the end of the semester. He allows you to share your opinion in class and keeps a good comfortable atmosphere in class.
flexible essay due dates, extra credit opportunities
Manong Dean was very easy to talk to and accommodating with due dates for our essays! It didn't even feel like a writing-intensive course!
laid back teaching style, no textbook required, online readings with discussions about movies watched in class and some group work
Manong Dean is an amazing individual that will challenge you so that you are able to have a better understanding in the language. Hes very easy to talk to and will gladly help!
Manong Dean made the coursework very enjoyable. It's helpful if you participate or you'll all sit there awkward. Manong is very helpful with assignments and understanding if you need extra resources or time on your work. Always reach out and start your tungtungan sessions early!
I took Manong Dean for IP 364. I suggest that if you want to get all your requirements done take the IP 364 class from him!! Manong Dean made learning a culture fun. A paper a week isn't that bad. In fact, he's very approachable for office hours and will give you feedback on your papers if you ask for it.
He's very generous and flexible as long as you do your work. He offers a lot of extra credit throughout the semester too.
Manong Dean is a caring teacher and is very easy to approach when you have questions.

Professor (Manong) Dean is a very understanding instructor and makes the content fun and easy. Really involved with the students. Not an easy A but there are plenty of extra credit opportunities that will boost your grade up.
As a student who was placed into ILO 202, Manong Dean has made the experience very enjoyable. He is very lenient and understanding, make sure that you communicate with him. With a similar background, the class has been very fun as there was a lot that we could talk about.
I had Dean for IP 364 and it was totally worth it! Initially I took the class because it covers a whopping 3 requirements for Manoa. But in the end I had fun and learned a lot. He is very flexible with due dates and as long as you show you learned something then you've already got the A. There is no better course to make your credits worthwhile.
I took Manong Deans IP 364 course. Manong Dean is a very understanding professor. He is very flexible with the due dates for the module papers. Manong Dean also offers many extra credit opportunities. I would highly recommend taking this class! I suggest that you sign up for this course early because it fills up quickly!!
Prof. Domingo is extremely helpful and supportive. You also learn so much in this class and it gives you a different perspective! Definitely take this class with him!
Professor Domingo is one of the best professors I have ever had. He makes the class interesting despite the long time period. He is also willing to help if you need it and offers a lot of extra credit. He is super nice and made this class thoroughly enjoyable! I definitely recommend to take his class if you are in need of an upper-division WI!
Professor did not speak much and students did most of the learning on their own. Several class periods we did not meet at all.
Manong Dean is a very lenient and flexible teacher. He is very understanding to the life of a college student and is continuously making efforts to better help and teach his students.
Manong Dean is true to his name. Other than being your typical instructor, he actually acts like a manong - someone that you can rely on for help. He is there when you need him and always understands that one has other responsibilities. With him, there is no hesitation when having a concern, just ask!
IP 364 is writing intensive but I appreciate that the essays are all spread out and possess reasonable due dates. However, he is aware that things happen and is lenient with the deadline as long as you tell him. Overall, he is a great instructor that is prideful in his teaching. This class is a must to view a new perspective on Filipino culture!
Manong Dean is a great professor. He really cares about his students and replies to student emails promptly (which is awesome). I would definitely recommend this class to my friends.
Manong dean/MD is a true defn of a covid-friendly teacher- he's super chill, caring, flexible w/ deadlines. Any issues/ concerns, i never hesitated to contact him. everything about this course + professor is an absolute steal! its a thought-provoking course and manong has always been understanding even before covid! TAKE THE COURSE
Prof. Domingo was chill and really cares about his students. There were a lot of papers but it is expected in a writing intensive; he was flexible with the papers and if you had any questions you can contact him through email and he would get back to you quickly. I would recommend this class to anyone!
This is my first time taking Manong Dean's class for ILO 301. I would say Manong dean is a nice and caring person because he cares about his students if they want to ask a question through email which he replies right away or ask for help for assignment/project/essay. He always makes his class fun and has a lot of extra credits opportunity.
all the materials are straight forward and the essays all very easy to do.
I've enjoyed this class as I continued onto the 300 level. This one, in particular, had a good amount of projects that would have you go know more about where you came from in the Philippines both from researching the city to hearing stories of those who have immigrated from there. Manong Dean makes it worth it to continue attending! D
Dean is such a nice professor. This class has a lot of group work, videos to watch, and essays, but it's pretty straightforward. He is always willing to help with the projects and replies to emails quickly. He is very passionate about this subject, and I would highly recommend taking IP364 from him.
Manong Dean is always willing to help his students. He is very passionate about what he teaches and ensures course material is interesting and relevant. The class was very interactive and focuses on research, which has helped me learn more about myself and my culture.
Dean was a great professor ready to help you succeed in his class
Dean Domingo was behind a great class! The setup was very clear and easy to attend too. I learned a lot in this class and inspired me to learn more about the Filipino culture. Weekly video + a response (easy to keep up with) and a few group presentations! I recommend this class to everyone.
I looked forward to going to IP364 because of Professor Domingo. I enjoyed attending his lectures although they were online. He made class fun, interesting and digestible. I found that the material assigned to read and watch were easy to follow and thought provoking. Overall I'd definitely recommend anyone take his class!
I'd highly recommend taking this class with Professor Domingo. I found the material assigned to be thought provoking and digestible. He made class fun and easy to follow! I feel that I learned a lot from his class and would definitely take it again.
Professor Domingo was very helpful in and out of class. If you ever have any questions or concerns about an assignment he will respond very fast. This semester was 100% virtual but he made sure to communicate with the class and gave out multiple extra credit opportunities. Extremely understanding and great guy, 10/10 recommend taking this class!
Manong Dean is always willing to help his students and makes it comfortable to ask questions. He is very passionate about what he teaches and cares for his students. With classes moving online, he is very understanding. The coursework he assigns applies to things we are actually interested in while learning the language.
Manong Dean cares very much for his students and not only ensures that the students are going to learn valuable information relating to the subject but is also mostly available to those that need extra guidance on any work for his class. He cares very much for his students, he is the reason I continued to take Ilokano classes.
Manong Dean was always available for consultation, if you needed any clarifications on anything. Many extra credit opportunities. Great class discussions.
This is a Writing Intensive class so be prepared to write. And he mostly lets the students teach the class. You teach the class in groups and you teach them based on the module of that week. There is also KAHOOT after the group presents and that is where the top 3 can get extra credits. Watch films that connects with the module and do flipgrids.
Manong Dean is always accessible and willing to help his students. He creates a positive and supportive space within the class. He is very passionate about what he teaches and cares for his students. Especially at this course level, the coursework he assigns applies to things we are actually interested in while learning the language.
Kuya Dean is truly a professor I think you need to have again for another semester. Despite the situation surrounding COVID and the course being all online, you can truly feel his motivation to have a fruitful conversation. Had it been in person I think the lectures would have been more engaging. But needless to say very reasonable class and easy!
Kuya Dean is a very nice and caring professor and is understanding/lenient about due dates. However, I don't recommend stacking up all the assignments until the very end. It's better to just do them when they're assigned! Otherwise, there's group projects and plenty of films/readings, but so long as you keep up with the work, you'll be fine!
This is quite a straightforward class in terms of grading and it is great for completing a bunch of graduation requirements. Although the professor is quite lenient with deadlines, I highly do not recommend slacking off till the end of the semester as there is quite a lot of work that will pile up.
How can you not take his class? He's awesome! He's available whenever you need him.
Manong Dean is one of my favorite Professors! He is very caring and lenient with homework, but don't slack off in the end! Do it when its due! His class is very interesting, there is a lot of readings but I promise you, you will not get bored from it! I would take this class and Manong Dean again if I could!
I LOVED this class (especially the films/documentaries). Manongs the best!! Hes very chill and lenient with deadlines/late work (as long as you ask for an extension). He also responds REALLY fast (Ive received email replies within 30 seconds LOL) and is willing to help you outside of class. He is very understanding and supportive! Take him!
Manong Dean really cares for his students! You can go to him about any problems, and he also accepts late work. Just dont hold off on the work as it will pile up towards the end of the semester! Fun class & interesting/informative context! Just get the assignments done :)
This course is great and Professor Domingo is the best! Highly recommend. It's a writing intensive but very manageable. Weekly papers, 2-3 pages double spaced but you can ask for an extension. This course requires discussion and participation but it's nothing intimidating, very "safe" space. The class that is once a week is usually 2 hrs or less.
Manong Dean is one of the nicest professors out there who understands the tough work of being a college student. There are group presentations and getting along with your group is very important! Just have good communication with them and you will get a good grade on your modules :)
Kuya Domingo is an amazing professor! He takes the time to make sure everyone understands the context and attends to those who needs help. The course is not hard at all, as long as you stay on track and do the work he assigns. I would recommend this class to anyone who needs to take another WI credit.
Manong Dean is gives clear expectations for the class. Everything can be found clearly on his documents for the semester calendar and syllabus. He is pretty available to talk on the side if you have any questions. Very interactive class.
Professor Domingo allows his students a lot of time to finish assignments. Take this course if you need credits or like Filipino culture.
I enjoyed this class because it made me feel closer to my Filipino roots. Manong dean is a great and caring professor. Therefore, my advice is to stay on top of the work for this class and not procrastinate.
I've always enjoyed his Ilokano class, which is always exciting and fun. If you have any questions or need assistance, he is always available and responds quickly.
I initially took the class just to get the language/culture credit, but came out with a newfound appreciation for my culture. The movies and readings are actually really interesting which makes writing the numerous papers super easy. The professor is also very flexible with assignments!
If you need to fill our requirements, consider taking it!
One of the best professors I've ever had. He is super considerate and lenient when it comes to deadlines on papers and assignments. There are group projects but he provides each group with helpful material and content to get started. I learned a lot and have become more appreciative of Filipino culture. He is very organized and always available.
One of the most lenient and compassionate instructors I've ever had. He cares about his students. The presentations were in groups so it was very easy to do and he also offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. Definitely would take him again if given a chance!
Manong Dean is always accessible outside of course hours. He is very reliable and easy going. Definitely will take a course by him again in the near future! He's the best.
Manong Dean is a great professor who cultivates a great and safe learning environment. Lectures are great and utilizes student lead presentations and discussions which allows you to dive deeper into the concepts and topics taught.
Manong Dean is a great professor who provides his students with compassion, a safe space to ask and learn, and an ample amount of interesting films. I gained a deeper understanding of Filipino culture, and I appreciate that this class brought together many first-generation college students.
I love Professor Domingo or Kuya as I would call him in my Filipino Popular Culture class. He really cares about his students and gives great advice on what to do for assignments so you can do well on them. A lot of group work, but I was very fortunate and lucky to have a good group. I WOULD TAKE THIS CLASS AGAIN!!! Amazing class and Professor!
Professor Domingo cares a lot about his students. He is understanding with deadlines and provides many extra credit opportunities. The class itself was engaging, and the content we learned was interesting. Assignments, and study material are clear, and examples of presentations are given to assist you when creating yours. Would take again!
Manong Dean is a true gem. He is one that genuinely looks out for his students. He encourages lots of discussions. The class is manageable so long as you keep up with the reading and reflections. The only advice I have is to keep an open mind throughout so that you learn more.
Manong Dean really cares about his students. He understands the struggles of being a college student and will give extensions to your assignments if needed. He encourages his students to participate and share their feelings, and doesn't leave anyone out. But make sure to complete your work on time since it will pile up at the end.
Professor Domingo is an amazing individual and an even better teacher. He is very caring of his student's time and care and is very workable with deadlines. He gives out lots of extra credit and is easily reachable by email. This class does take some time to complete homework assignments but it is very durable if one stays on track.
Manong Dean, by far is one of the best professors I ever had He understand the struggle of his student and gives extra time for you to complete your assignments. This class consists of group presentations which are not difficult all you gotta do is summarize articles and define keywords. Take his IP364 class you won't regret it :)
Professor Domingo is an amazing professor who understands and cares for his student. You can easily send emails to reach him when you need extra time to finish your assignments or need help understanding. He had many available office hours and extra credit opportunities which helped me a lot!
Prof Dean is very understanding and a very good teacher, I learned a lot in his class.
He is super nice and cares about the students. He checks in through the semester to see how everyone is doing and allows you to turn in any work late at any time for full credit if you ask. Its not hard work, but it does take a lot of time to do.
Truly one of the best Professors. He's lenient with submission, gives extra credit, emails back, and is very caring. Please don't take advantage of this because he does give work every week. Piles and piles of it not submitted are not ideal. They're very easy, the only way you fail this class is if you didn't attend or didn't do anything.
He is very lenient on due dates. If you contact him with anything questions, he is very understanding and will make time to help you.
Professor Domingo is so approachable. He is very understanding of his students. He is very lenient on deadlines as long as you ask for extensions. But do not wait until the last days to complete all of your missing assignments because it's going to be difficult for you. Course content is a 10/10.
Professor Domingo is an extremely approachable and kind professor. Although quite a bit of work is assigned, Professor Domingo is very considerate of his students. He does not dock for late work and allows extensions for essays upon request. Class discussions were always very interesting and engaging. Highly recommended professor!
Professor Dean is an excellent professor that knows what he is talking about. He also really cares about his students' well being by doing wellness checks throughout the semester. He really sympathized for how his students are doing and considered about the other classes his students are taking by extending deadlines if needed. Overall, take again.
he is a very nice professor. he really respects and understands students. there are some group projects in the class, but he gave us examples, so it makes it easy to work on.
Easily one of the best classes I've taken with one of the most chill and understanding Professors I've experienced. It is a OC, ETH, and WI course, so there's a lot of writing involved. As long as you communicate with Manong Dean for extensions if need be and do the work, you will pass. I learned a lot in the class and highly recommend it!
I really enjoyed this class. I feel like all the material was very interesting and because of the way he taught his class, the material was easy to learn and a lot of fun. I would 100% take his class again.
Manong Dean is incredibly caring and willing to help. Class is casual, and a comfortable place for open discussion. You need to write a total of 16 pages over the semester, in 6 papers (with two options if needed). Modules are class led, so you will work with a group for 2 presentations and a final project.
Manong Dean has been one of the best professors to date. He cares a lot about his students and wants them to learn and do good in his class. Most of the work in this class is through group work so be ready to collaborate and work well with your group members. Highly recommended professor and WI class.
Manong Dean is one of the best professors I've ever had. Not only is he very kind, but he is VERY flexible with deadlines. You have to do 3 presentations, watch movies, and write 16 pages (in total) by the end of the semester. Learned a lot about the history and culture of the Philippines, definitely recommend.
Love Manong Dean! He really cares for your well-being as a college student and understands that we have various commitments. He is flexible on late work and grades fairly easy as long as you show that you're trying. Would love to take him again!
This professor helps throughout the course of the semester and gives extra time for homework assignments/projects if need be.
Professor was very understanding with students work throughout the semester and allows you to turn it in when ever. He also followed the syllabus throughout the semester. There were no surprises throughout.
Dean Domingo is a super nice professor. He gives you lots of extra credits opportunity to help you on passing this class. The video project is fun and learned a lot. He also let you turn in any assignment late without penalty.
Probably my favorite professor ever. I would take another class of his. Very caring. Young, hardworking guy. Lots of extra credit and lenient deadlines! Just do the work and you'll be good. There's two group presentations, in-class discussions, 6 essays, flipgrid posts, 1 midterm, optional final, and final video project. That's everything.
Grade is dependent on flip videos, 6 essays, and final. Show up to class, participate, do the work, and it'll be a fun class. The material is interesting at times, he's really lenient with deadlines. He cares about what he teaches and teaches it well. Try not to procrastinate and do all the essays at the end (most ppl will), highly recommend him.
Professor Domingo is one of the best professors I have this semester. He is always there when I have difficulty understanding the content. He uses examples to help me understand the assignments. He is also understanding and caring to his students!
Professor/Manong Dean's IP364 class was so enjoyable. He is very flexible with due dates, and understands us as college students. Just don't fall too far behind, because you'll have to make up a lot of work at the end of the semester. The content is very interesting, and Manong Dean encourages a lot of involvement, so show up to class!
I believe that he is a great and understanding professor. I believe this is a great class especially if your looking for a 300+ level elective, Culture, and Writing intensive. Overall great class and professor.
You need to write at least 16 pages total across 6 essays to fulfill the essay requirement of this class. Also have to do flip grid reactions to films watched in class. Overall, he grades fair and offers plenty of extra credit and is willing to work with students to get a good grade so long as you put in work!!!
Professor Domingo is an amazing instructor. He allows his students to work at their own pace and work together independently. He is extremely understanding and offers tons of extra credit throughout the semester.
Need to complete 16 pages of essay writing spread across 6 assignments. Grades fairly, but offers plenty of extra credit. Is willing to work with students to ensure they get a good grade so long as they put in thee work
Took this class for a 300+ elective and I highly recommend this class. Very straight forward and fun class. Professor is very nice and caring and is there if you need any help. Offers a bunch of extra credit.
Awesome teacher, very lenient and understanding of students stress in school. Lots of total work, but you have the whole semester to work and make sure it gets done and turned in on time. One of the best teachers I've had and would 100% take again.
The professor is highly knowledgeable on the subject. Although there is quite a bit of work such as group presentations and essays, the professor is understanding and willing to help students as needed. Would definitely take again if possible.
He's nice
This professor is super understanding of his student's schedules and workload. Overall, you need to write 16 pages worth of essays relating to course modules, do 3 group projects, and finally watch 9 films related to Filipino culture and give your analysis and thoughts about the movie while commenting on your peer's posts. It's a lot but manageable
2 group presentations a semester where you teach on a module. Sometimes watched films to learn concepts. 6 papers, 2 pgs each. A film project later in the semester. Final oral interview to answer a question. Professor's available and more than willing to help, just ask. Lots of extra credit, check them out cause they're actually pretty fun.
Good prof, easygoing, and understanding about the workload of other classes. He doesn't set hard deadlines, explains things well if you ask, and you can resubmit assignments with the opportunity for full credit. You need to put in the effort to do well but he also offers a lot of extra credit opportunities.
Manong Dean is super chill and knows what he talks about. Really cares about teaching and super helpful. Theres a lot of essays but thats to be expected because its a WI course. Just dont let it pile up bc it will be alot LOL. Take this class if you can!! Even if you dont need the credit, take it because you'll learn alot about filipino culture.
This class has very flexible deadlines and many extra credit opportunities. Take this class since it fulfills a lot of the graduation requirements and the workload is manageable.
Very flexible teacher, caring, and understanding of mental health is very appreciative of him. Manong Dean has made my last semester a fun experience coming to class every week.
One of the best classes I have ever taken. 6 essays, 2 group presentations, and one final video project. Manong Dean is a very caring professor that is flexible with deadlines and cares about his students. Overall it's an easy class that fulfills many graduation requirements.
Professor Domingo is fantastic! The format of the class is pretty unique in that the students are mostly responsible for presenting the class material in groups. The assignments are not complicated. There are about six 2-3 page essays. If you show up to class and participate during the discussion questions you should have no problem with these.
Manong Dean is very accessible outside of class and always answers his emails in a timely manner. Manong Dean cares about his students mentally and academically. The work he assigns is exactly what he states in his syllabus. His syllabus may seem a lot, but when you actually do the assignment, its not that bad.
Procrastinators beware of the flexible deadlines! Professor is extremely understanding and gives plenty of extra credit and deadline extensions. There are 8 modules with several readings and about one movie per module. Of the 8 modules, you must write 6 essays and do 2 group presentations. Grading is not too harsh either.
Manong Dean is very nice and understanding. I really look forward to going to his class every week. He makes sure that you feel comfortable and welcomed during/before/after class. One of the best professors I have ever taken!
Manong Dean is an excellent teacher. He is one to have a professional yet friendly relationship with his students. He responds to emails within less than 24 hours. He is also very respectful of your time.
You have to write essays for the WI credit, but he's flexible in the due dates so use those to your advantage. The presentations are informal. The only bad thing I would say is that it takes a while to grade stuff.
Manong Dean is a good and understanding professor. There were a lot of essays, that is of course for the WI credit, but he is very flexible with due dates if you talk to him. He also gives you the chance to edit your module essays to get a better grade, there are a few extra credit opportunities as well.
He is very understanding when it comes to turning in your paper late, just let him know (email is preferred). He is fair and knowledgeable of what he teaches. I like all the readings. 10/10 recommended!!
He is lenient and understanding to his students. A lot of interesting readings in this class. He is fair and treat students with respect. He is also knowledgeable with what he teaches. If ever he offer other IP courses, I will take his class again.
Manong Dean is very understanding and flexible and understanding with dues dates. He offers a few extra credit opportunities and gives you a chance to resubmit your module essays if you want a better grade. He does take a while to grade stuff, so you don't really know how you're doing in the class until the end of the semester. Overall, good class.
Class is straightforward and fun. Prof Domingo is caring, quick email responding, and hilarious. Definitely recommend Prof Domingo's classes!
Spoke profoundly, confidently, tactfully, and professionally which was a nice needed surprise. Overall I learned about my heritage in an entertaining and meaningful way largely due to this professor's practical teaching methods and friendly demeanor.

The class is interesting and is not too difficult. There are weekly homework assignments, but as long you do them on time you should have no problem falling behind or getting a bad grade.
He's really nice! You do have to attend at least 2 events but even if you don't, there is a lot of extra credit you can do. He gives extensions as well. Most of the class time consists of group presentations and movie time, I'd say it's a chill class. Just participate in discussions and you'll get your points for that day.
He was very understanding with due dates, and provided lots of helpful resources for group presentations.
Manong is a very kind and understanding proffesor. The course requires you to write a 16 page essay (which is divided up) but he allows you to turn in your work later for full credit. Lots of homework and essays but a lot of extra credit to make it up
Manong Dean is one of those rare good professors. I definitely recommend that you take his class as the things he teaches are very interesting. He also provides many extra credit opportunities so that all you really need to do for an A is to do the work.
Manong Dean is a great professor as he provided a great learning environment for his students and provided resources we can use throughout the semester. A+ professor, approachable, and knowledgable.

Prof Dean is super chill, and he's very flexible when it comes to assignments. His class is also fairly easy as you just need to keep up with the assignments. Although this class is a writing intensive, the writing assignments can be overwhelming if you procrastinate and leave it to the end of the semester. Dont get lazy and do the papers its easy.

This course is great for someone looking to knock out multiple graduation requirements while also having some fun! Dean Domingo was clear with what he expected from the first day of class, the assignments seemed a little intimidating but he made sure to ease those worries with lots of extra credit opportunities and lenient assignment due dates.
The class has 2 group presentations and module essays that are based on reading and the movies watched in class. The deadline on the essays are really lenient so make sure to stay on top of them. The professor is really chill and I high recommend this class.

Would recommend for any course Dean Domingo teaches. He is a great teacher and very knowledgeable. Do not take the course as a joke, there is a lot of work but it is very doable if you stick to the deadlines and do not let it build up.
Professor Dean is super chill and clear about expectations. Deadlines are flexible, which is great because there's a lot of assignments (this course does fulfill a lot of grad requirements). His feedback is also quite helpful.
He is very helpful and understanding. A great professor. You will have mandatory events but there FUN!
Manong Dean is willing to answer questions that students may have, and he readily gives feedback while teaching. He gives assignments, but they can be turned in when possible until the end of the year (with the exception of quizzes, when they are announced). There are a few handouts given in class.
Weekly papers, video project, and group presentations. Attendance is not mandatory and you are given lots of time to do things, though the workload can be a lot at time
I highly recommend this course taught by Manong Dean. Relatively, there may seem like a lot of work to do in this class but as long as you don't wait last minute for every assignment you will be fine. He also provides a lot of extra credit opportunities. This professor is very reasonable and the group projects/presentations are fun.
Manong Dean was very clear with expectations and instructions from the beginning of the semester. The course was mainly comprised of watching films and making discussion videos, creating group presentations, and writing module analysis papers.
Manong Dean is understanding that students have a life outside of school, so he is very lenient about deadlines. He develops and shifts his course schedule based on his students' understanding of the course material. Manong Dean creates a safe environment for everyone to learn Ilokano in, and helps us improve our language skills with compassion.
Extremely understanding and easy going, super relaxed teaching style. No firm due date for assignments so you can complete and submit whenever you are able to which is super convenient if you have a packed schedule. A safe environment for students to express their thoughts and opinions openly which you will have to do to get participation points.
Group work oriented: we are designated specific modules to work on, will have to use google slides and kahoot for the classwork. Zoom classes: lenient of not turning on your camera & voice, instead detailed chat messages are approved. Classwork: there are a lot of readings but that is why group work presentations about the modules are necessary.
Expect to act for a mandatory film, teach a class, and podcast speaking only in ILOKANO. But it was all do-able because you'll be in a group.
Professor Domingo is a great teacher that gives plenty of opportunities for students to speak during group lectures/presentations as well as opportunities for extra credit. There is a good amount of reading involved as well as videos to watch. As long as you do your work and communicate with the professor, you'll do fine.
In this class you are pretty much working in groups for a couple module presentations and a final film. Assignments consist of module essays and flipgrid videos that have very lenient due dates. There is a midterm and final. Great class and an even greater professor in Manong Dean

Manong Dean is lenient with deadlines and understands if you have other assignments to prioritize. He makes class enjoyable for all his students and we are constantly laughing while finishing the designated assignments. The classwork is appropriate for the student's understanding and he goes over our work during class.
Super chill professor that understands you're juggling multiple UH classes and is flexible with assignment deadlines if you communicate with him. There are 2 presentations, 6 essays, a final video project, a midterm written exam, and a final oral exam. It's a lot, so stay organized and manage your time well to pass.
Manong Dean is an excellent professor. His class helps students learn Ilokano through engaging activities that, while meant to be fun, allow students to apply what they learn. Participating and doing the work will not only lead to a good grade, but also will guarantee a much better understanding of Ilokano than before taking his class.
If you can take Professor Domingo for IP 364, I highly recommend you take his class! If you like an organized professor with great learning material and a clear calendar and criteria, then this class is for you! He is also very understanding so if you need an extension on an assignment, he will accommodate you as long as you communicate with him.
Professor provided clear goals in what needed to be done, set expectations early for the course, and was always willing to meet with students who had questions. A lot of reading and some group presentations that culminated into a final project, but the professor was flexible and understanding with the assignments.
The course does require you to work in a group for presentations and a video at the end but with just a bit of effort, you can easily pass. Manong Dean is very understanding of the student's situation and gives many opportunities for missed assignments.
Professor Domingo is an understanding instructor who provides clear expectations and flexible deadlines. The workload is manageable with some group projects, and unstuckstudy ai can be a helpful tool for study prep.
Manong Dean is an exceptional professor. The work is not too rigorous and can be completed on time, therefore I believe it is impossible to fail this course. He incorporates engaging class activities that encourage the students to participate in learning, and I really enjoy the events Timpuyog organizes because they are really fun to attend to.
Manong Dean is the best teacher ever, he makes the class more like a family and engages with us. He assigns a light workload and is lenient with deadlines. He always corrects our little mistakes in Ilocano that allows us to speak Ilocano more better
Manong Dean is great professor especially when learning new things sometimes he'll make us play a game to engage us or make us do a project.

Although attendance matters, he is extremely understanding if you are unable to attend class, or if you will be showing up late, as long as you email him.
Manong Dean is the best professor you'll ever take, even if you're new to the language. He teaches Ilocano in the best possible way to engage with students and more. We do have dramafest that's part of the class but the whole time preparing for it was so fun engaging with new classmates. Definitely recommend taking this class if you need credits
This professor takes every student into consideration and is very easily approachable in class. He isn't like most professors in a sense that he thinks he is above the students. With the right mutual respects you can easily for a great relation and have an easy time in this course.
Manong Dean gives feedback, answers questions, and is flexible. Though homework is assigned in chunks, the definite due date is near the end of the semester, and it is the student's responsibility to manage their assignments. Preparing for Dramafest (mandatory for Ilokano classes) may pay off if the student is willing to perform their best.
Great professor! I found Manong Dean's class like family- I've never found any other class where I feel more comfortable with my peers, sharing personal stories and having fun through the interactive activities he incorporate in each of his lessons.
He is a great teacher. Take his class and you will get an easy A+!
Chill and knowledgeable professor! He's motivating, relatable, and creates a friendly, family-like classroom environment. Your success depends on the effort you put into learning and memorizing vocabulary, sentence structure, and more. Manong Dean is always available to answer questions and guide you toward success. Highly recommend!
Professor cares about his students! He tries to be accessible for them outside of class hours in order for them to succeed. He tries to be fair with all students and ensures that we are all understanding the materials and concepts that are being taught. I would definitely recommend taking this professor!
Manong Dean is more of a "manong" rather than a professor — he's easygoing and easy to talk to. Despite knowing him for a short period of time, it's clear that he cares for the well-being of his students. He goes above and beyond of what's expected of him as a professor, and doesn't hesitate to sacrifice his own personal time for his students.
Manong Dean has a great way of teaching, especially as it applies to teaching languages. To teach Ilocano, he goes beyond simply assigning worksheets by actively immersing his students in creative activities, which is not only beneficial for learning, but foster a fun and non-stressful environment for students that is still productive.
Most of the class is conducted in English and Ilokano. Manong Dean is super helpful and you can always ask questions. He does tungtungan sessions in ilokano which I found helpful for someone who doesn't speak ilokano that often outside of class. Overall great class!
Do as much paper as you can even though he is lenient with deadlines. Expected to understand or know the basic word roots but he is also very helpful when you have questions with it.
Manong Dean provides good feedback when it comes to your schoolwork and if you need his help he is willing to guide you through the assignment. He tailors the classwork when needed and makes class enjoyable for everyone.
Loved the way he taught the course. Everything you'll do in his class make sense to what's being taught.
Lesson we're taught in an organized manner. Everything you'll do in class make sense to what's being taught.
Manong Dean has consistently shown that he cares about his students and their performance. His commitment to the Ilokano department is what makes him a great professor.
There's really nothing to worry about with this class! It was such a fun and enjoyable experience, and I would definitely take him as a professor again. I learned so much in a short amount of time. He's always open to helping students and only assigns work that's meaningful and helps you actually understand the material.
I've had Manong Dean for the past 5 semesters (ILO 101 - ILO 301) and it was such a pleasure being his student. Manong Dean is a respected and caring professor/instructor. He takes care of his students by giving us relevant coursework for our generation, being aware of our existing knowledge of Ilokano and expanding upon that. 10/10 for Manong!
Manong Dean is super chill and approachable—his humor and real-world examples make class engaging, and he's always happy to answer questions. He's also flexible with extensions when you need them, showing genuine care for student success.
I've had the pleasure of having Manong Dean as my instructor for my 300 & 400 level Ilokano courses and these courses were usually the highlight of my semester. I appreciate how he fosters a fun environment where not only are we learning Ilokano but applying it to different aspects of our lives.
This professor puts time and effort to making sure everyone is on the same page when it comes to the topic. He never fails to answer a question to the best of his ability especially regarding the language.
It was very easy to follow along. If you have any questions dont be afraid to ask because he always does his best to answer it.

Instructor is very understanding and is very helpful. Class was easy to follow.
Manong Dean is a great professor. He makes class engaging and fun. We did a mix of independent work but most of the time we do group work, which allows great collaboration between classmates. Manong Dean is also very approachable. You can talk to him about anything, whether you have concerns, questions, or if you just want to talk story.
Very chill and understanding professor who's always willing to help. There's a lot of Ilocano reading and writing, but it's worth it if you love the language. I overrode into a one-on-one setup and still learned a lot. Highly recommend if you're serious about learning Ilocano.
Manong Dean understands when students are busy and provides extra time for students to turn in assignments. Also, Manong makes class enjoyable and the workload is manageable.
Manong Dean is a great professor, and knows how to treat his students with respect. He's easy to get along with, and knows how to joke around. It's clear that he wants nothing but the best for his students. Hence, why I look forward to taking his class every semester.
Manong Dean is a very great and helpful professor that is always willing to further explain the concepts that we are learning. He knows the course and content very well and is very lenient to the homework. Never be afraid to let him know what you are struggling with because he'll always take the time to help you better understand the language.
Manong Dean is very passionate about the Ilokano language. He demonstrates his material very clearly, which shows the amount of effort he puts into his lessons. He is also very understanding and he gives his students a chance to succeed in his class. He is a great professor!
This class was online heavy. Lots of video editing and learning to overcome your fear of either public speaking or recording.
