Very cool teacher. Fitness is his passion and is very enthusiastic. Easy class, gives a lot of handouts that you fill in the blanks during lectures. Lots of extra credit. Learn a lot, easy A.

I took the telecourse and rec'd an A. He's always smiling and has a positive attitude. Watch the tapes, read the book, and you'll get an A.

He is my Track and Cross Country Coach. He tells me planty of things. Other than being my coach, he was my health instructor, I received just an average in the class, he also helps me with my behavioral issues. He is a great coach. - Andrew Wang

Easy and good teacher.....very funny also!! Notes can be hard to read because his writing is small and he writes very lighly. So sit in the front on the class. Tests are a walk in the park if you study for atleast 30 min. He also offers a lot of extra credit.....easy A!!!

He is pretty good and he is a nice person. He tries to make his class entertaining at times. He seems supereasy, but he grades kind of hard, so other than writing down what he has on his notes, be sure to also write down what he says. Even if you are his athlete, you will still fail his class. Don't ever fall asleep because he will wake you up!

A fun guy. Tries hard to keep the class entertained and to get the information across. He grades pretty tough however, even though he may appear and easy grader at first. He's a great Cross Country and Track coach too.

Telecourse: Very flexible and understands why people take telecourses. The assessments are fair but grueling in legnth. Easy paper. Great way to knock out this requirement.

Still no anywhere that you will be speacial if you take his class even if you are his athlete. Even if you are his athlete, you can still fail. He would seem supereasy, but he grades hard. Oh yes, there are many extra credit opportunities! However, notes can be hard to read because his writing is extremely small and he writes very lightly.

Took online Health Class. Mr. Lofgren was great- he was quick to respond by email to any questions I had. The class was very clear and I learned a lot. A definite instructor to take for this class. I had him for a weight training class years ago and he was excellent there also!!

I took the online course. Just spend about 30 minutes each week on online quizes and write a couple paragraphs on the chapter. Finish one small essay by the end of the semester. Easy A. He is also very helpful and responds with feedback after reading your work. GREAT ONLINE CLASS!

Highkly energetic, entertaining teacher. Makes sure we need to know exactly what to get out of the class-no guessing like others. Those that have trouble just don't pay attention or don't come to class! A good choice.

Very helpful and understanding teacher. I had the classroom class and he was always prepared and enthusiastic. He made a morning class enjoyable somehow. I ended up liking the class very much and most of the test material was from notes. Be there and you'll do well.

Took the online class, great teacher! easy, straight forward, not too much homework. 3 short answer questions and a 20 question quiz per week and one research essay that you have all semester to do. TAKE HIM!

This class was one of the most informative classes I've taken at El Camino College. Not only was he a funny and entertaining he was quite enthusiastic about health. All of this combined for one of the best class experiences I've had in all my years of attending school the class is quite simple if you attend every class and take notes you will pass!

Professor Lofgren has been great this semester He makes the class enjoyable to come to and is always enthusiastic. It has become one of my most looked forward to classes. We are lucky to have him as an option. I'm in the Honors Program as well.

i have him for cross country. he's a very funny guy. he gives hard but good workout, like my... if you are very fast, take this class. he's so nice he got us bagels on the day of meets.

I took his online health class, it is very easy. i got to the point where i started becomong lazy on the timed tests and topic paper so i ended up with a B+. replied to emails fairly quick and its a cool class.

I really enjoyed him and the class. He made it fun to come to and I looked forward to it. Some of the material was tough and new to me, but really important topics. I learned a lot and think he is great teacher and just a really nice person. It went by too fast. Highly recommend this class.

Explains the material plenty of times so that it's practically ingrained into your mind. Great teacher. Very easy honors class. 4 x 80 (+/-) question tests and 2 assessment papers.

AMAZING prof. Very easy going, lively & interested in material; really wants you to learn. Talks a lot though it's not pure lecture; makes it interesting w/ experiences, etc. Always hands out fill-in worksheets for taking notes. Doesn't take attendance; No final or hw except 2 simple papers. Didn't use text. Easy A if you put in average effort!

I really liked this class and professor dean lofgren. Every day was interesting discussion and he always came to class with a positive and uplifting attitude- that is a rare quality to find in anyone, let alone a college teacher. I will always remember this class - I learned volumes of stuff - nmuch text book use, but he brought in lots of info!

Super easy online course. Take a test, answer two questions, write a paragraph about a video, and post in a discussion every week, plus a short paper at the end of the semester. I forgot about 2 weeks worth of work and still ended up with an A. Lofgren's super nice and answers emails quickly. Definitely recommend, easy A.

Took Lofgren's online course. I liked the format where everything was very well structured and no surprises. There are multiple assignments due each week along with a test, but one bad assignment grade won't negatively effect your grade a lot like a bad midterm, etc. Lofgren was great in always answering my questions and staying involved. Dean is possibly the sweetest professor you will ever take. He is extremely fair and it is actually more difficult NOT to do well in this class. If you are in need of more units or Health is something you are interested in this is definitely the class for you!

His tests are really easy. As long as you memorize the worksheets, you will get an easy A. There is barely any homework and his lectures are really interesting. Don't buy the textbook! You won't use it.

Had Mr. Lofgren for Health. He was always enthusiastic and classes were always interesting and informative. I am an honors transfer program student and feel I know a lot of this material, but still learned many insightful things about many of the health-related topics. A really good class taught by a really good teacher!

His class was doable.. If you've taken those hard bio classes, you will be fine! Because study in this class like you did in bio (Memorizing bunch of stuff really hard), then you will do well!! His lecture notes are the key.. and don't miss a class because it's kinda hard to get the notes after you miss them.. You can do it. Don't give up!

This class is fairly boring, not because of him, but because of the subject matter. The main point is that if you can memorize some brainless health facts you will be fine!

I took the honors transfer health class and really enjoyed Professor Lofgren and his enthusiasm. Most of the material was familiar, but he clarified many important concepts that are good for college students to be aware. Took Lofgren's Sports Nutrition class. Great information and always good material and discussion in class. Learned a lot from this semester. Thought I knew more, but realized I didn't. Ha. Lofgren always in a good mood which makes the class good to look forward to.

He tells you that you do not need the book which is great. He hands you worksheets that you fill in throughout class and the tests are fairly easy if you study for them. By far one of the easiest Honors courses at ECC.

Professor Lofgren is a solid choice for all classes. He is funny, intelligent, and a good all around teacher. He doesn't give many assignments, but as long as you do them you will get full credit. Tests can be somewhat long and of average difficulty. If it applied to me, I would take him over any other professor teaching the same classes.

Mr. Lofgren was a great professor for my honors transfer section contemporary health class. He always served to motivate us and was very uplifting. Although I was familiar with some of the material, there was a lot that I was unaware of and learned greatly from the course discussions. One of the courses I always looked forward to coming to.

People who are not interested in this subject will still have fun listening to his lectures. I found this class to be very informative and insightful. The class is extremely easy to pass, especially with lots of handouts for easy points. He is very generous with giving points. For the tests, just memorize the lecture notes and you will be fine.

Taking this class online was a great experience. The material is made very easy to understand by this professor and keeping up online was not too difficult (as long as you don't forget about your deadlines). There were 1-2 videos with questions, 1-3 critical thinking questions, and a 20 question assessment every week. Very simple to pass.

Honestly by far best professor iv'e taken. He's super easy. His classwork and homework is straight forward . Really nice professor.

The assignments have clear instructions and they are not difficult to complete. He is an easy grader as long as its clear you understand and did the assignments. Towards the end of the semester he allows you to turn in late work.

Mr. Lofgren made the online course very straight-forward & easily manageable during the lengthy COVID pandemic. He understands many students are tired of online classes and made it more topic research-based with reasonable time frames to complete. I was able to relax and learn about various health topics in an effective manner. It is appreciated.

I ended the course with a 99% and hardly put forth effort. If you fail this course, reevaluate your priorities/life.

Lofgren is a great professor! He's not a hard grader at all, but you will absolutely learn in this class. All of his content is very digestible and he is incredibly understanding. Tests are based on homework and lectures.

I honestly took this class to fulfill a requirement for the HTP, but little did I know how interesting & useful the course would be. I took micro alongside it for my major and somehow a lot of the things I was learning in both courses aligned almost perfectly. Lofgren is a great professor who knows his stuff! The format style of the professor is to do your own research to answer the prompts for the assignment and discussion boards. The quizzes and final exam are based on the knowledge gained from researching. Easy grading for each assignment as he gives full credit with insightful comments about the topic. Simple online GE class to take for the summer.
