Great 402 teacher! Like most bio classes you have to study to do well. Dean makes it easier for student to concentrate on which material to study. Do your study guides before you start studying it'll be the key to getting an A in the class. Great teacher. He knows the subj and teaches great.

Great teacher! If you want to pass, study the class notes and study guide. You don't need to read the book, just listen to the lecture. You have to study though, you have to take time to learn the material and prepare for exams and you'll have an A. He's helpful, answers all questions, very clear.

Very educated man. knows his stuff. The only thing he grades pretty much is the test scores. If you do bad on tests or dont have time to study don't take the class. But if you work hard and study you will get an A or B. Make sure you study for his essay questions.

Dr. Won is an educated and a friendly professor. Willing to answer all questions with best attitude. Ive never seen such teacher so dedicated to his students. Gives a study guide for each exam and tests from it. Very little homework given and extra credit opportunities at end of semester. Very serious prof at first but warms as semester goes on. Very straight forward and doesn't try to trick you on exams. Very organized power point lectures and waste no time in class.

No easy A or easy Professor in any AP class. Dean is good though. Very helpful very thorough and ALOT of notes. Lecture exams are based off notes. Posts study guides as well as essay topics for each exam and alot of useful material online. Lab practical/lecture exam on the same day be prepared. Few assignments so use your lab time wisely to study

Prof. Won is GREAT! Definitely recommend him! Gives detailed study guides, tells you his essay prompts ahead of time so you can prepare. Very helpful! It's a tough class regardless but he gives you everything you need to succeed. I'm taking him for 431 too.

Prof. Won is extremely helpful and makes sure he knows his students. Very straight up and does not try to trick you on tests. Provides as much material as he can to help you study especially on blackboard. His tests are straight off his notes so attendance is a must. All in all professor Won is a great teacher.

What can I say, Dean is a fantastic professor. He starts off very strict, but loosens up as the semester goes on. This class is by no means easy, nor is he an easy professor. But he is very clear about what he will be testing on. Just be sure to prepare for the essay questions on the first exam! Dean is happy to help students despite his busy life.

Dean is a very grounded guy and a fantastic teacher. He demanded a lot, but in turn I learned a lot! There were many times that I felt like giving up, but Dean kept encouraging me and answered all questions that I had. I highly recommend Dr.Won! Be prepared to dedicate yourself to learning Physiology because he does test your knowledge. GO DEAN!!!

Biol 431 isn't meant to be a walk in the park, but Dr. Won takes the time to explain each subject very well. Most of the the info is off of his powerpoints, so dl them before you come to class. Don't skip any days, study his lectures, take advantage of all the class time he gives you to study for the lab practical and you'll do great =)

Get ready for tons of memorizing!!! This course is not the most exciting, but Dr. Won gives you all the tools you need. He tests from D2L slides and notes he writes on board. Gives study guides prior to tests. Exams are on FULL units! There are only a few labs, so be prepared to sit for 4 hour lectures (bring a pillow for your rear, Ugh).

don't be scared in the beginning - he comes off as mean but warms up a little bit as the semester wears on. Pros: Gives clear, detailed study guides before every test. Know everything on the study guide and show up and you will do well. Cons: extremely boring, long lectures.

Comes off as distant in the beginning but warms up later. Keeps updated on any changes made in class. Material is very straight forward, no tricks. Specific essay questions for written part of exams are selected from study guide, which can be graded before the exam. Material from lecture exam complements material from book and additional notes. =)

WOW! Wonderful teacher! After the experience I had in Bio430 (wont mention teachers name) this guys really DOES want you to get a good grade, doesn't try to trick you, gives you a study guide to prepare for the exam. Willing to postpone the exams a bit if the students feel that they need more time to prepare so they can do better. God bless!

I took Prof Won for Bio 490, Science Study Skills. Was great to work with. Very helpful. Really is interested in having his students be successful. Would definitely take another class from him. If you have a chance to take a class from him, go for it!!! Great guy.

I agree with most of the previous responses and reviews. He really is a very caring and dedicated teacher. I took 430 with another professor who was arrogant and unapproachable so having Professor Won for 431 was truly a blessing. Professor Won is very fair and does give a sufficient amount of extra credit activities to boost your grade.

Basically, he is a great professor, clear and intelligent. BUT this class is extremely overwhelming. Lecture exams are hard. This class is strictly business, he advises to not ask questions during his 3 hour lectures. Basically your life is over for the semester you take his class, not kidding, ask any student. Good luck is all I can say.

Don't be fooled by the "easiness" number, he's a very strict and challenging professor. A&P is just a demanding class so even if you get an A you will be very stressed out throughout the semester. Overall I'd recommend him because he's clear and helpful, good luck.

I took classes at city and this was way easier. Or i just like his teaching better. You dont "have" to read the chapters because between his notes & slides its all there but it was super helpful. Do the study guide and WRITE IT OUT. Not just in your head & go over and over and over the slides and notes. If you get a B well we know what that means..

This class with any teacher is hard, but Prof. Won made it possible to pass. He lays out everything clearly and your only job is to study it. He goes way beyond other teachers in preparing study guides and letting you know EXATCLY what to study including lab practicals. He is knowledgable and really cares about his students.

I rated Prof. Won easy, but you should know by now that Bio 431 IS HARD! He just makes it easy to understand. Exams based off lectures and study guides. Plenty of bonus points and also gives extra credit. He really helps you get that A, so it's up to you to STUDY and put in the time. By far the BEST prof I've ever taken though! And I've had A LOT!

Pro. Won is a straight BOSS! His explanations of such complex subjects are amazing! All my other bio classes I was just memorizing, now I actually understand (which makes A&P as easy as it gets). you know you should take him, so why are you on RMP? just be hopeful that you have enough units to get in.

Prepares you for success: provides study guides for lec and lab exams,writes out main highlights on board. Copy these and you can then study off these and his PPT slides on D2L. Always willing to help. Easy to understand.

Professor Won is very straight forward. He uses slides to teach his class, he writes notes on the board, and at times uses helpful videos. He is great at explaining the harder subjects.He uses cadavers a lot,but don't be bothered by this. Seeing the real thing is so much better than pictures.Professor Won makes the subject interesting and easy =)

Just got done w/ his summer class. Hands down Prof Won is the best professor ever! He gives out a few extra credit pts. Test q's are straight from the notes and study guides. No trick questions. Class is difficult, there is a lot of information to learn in a little amount of time. Does grade on a curve! Responds to emails fast and is very encouraging. No study guides, lots of notes and self studying(rereading notes, the book & record lectures)! Make this class your priority & you'll get the grade you want! Also do not miss class!

Amazing prof. Study guide for each unit, do it carefully and you wil get 95%+on test, as long as you do it carefuly and honestly. Lab practicals also straight to the point. This prof does not want to trick you or make ur life harder than it is already- wants for everyone to succeed. If you cant get an A in this class in HIS class-ur fault!

The class content is very tough but this Professor makes things so simple for you with clear instructions on what his expectations are for every activity. He gives 7 Lecture exams and 3 labs with study guides for each. Offered an optional finals with a study guide too. Wish had taken him for Bio430 too. Wish had taken Bio430 with him.

This professor is crazy organized and he emails back really fast too. He simplified the class a lot. You don't need to read the book much. Read it for better understanding and to fill in gaps but it's not absolutely needed. No lab notebook required either! He gives lots of buffer extra credit points too. Highly recommend.

I took Professor Won after failing with another professor, and WOW what a difference. The course material is not hard to learn just requires you put the effort in to really learn it. Won is very helpful, pretty funny and a great professor. He really cares about his students!! But if you don't have early enrollment you won't get him, he's that good!

Took his class for summer school. Best decision ever! The course material is tough but Professor Won makes it easy for students. The different between him and other professors is that he doesn't like to trick his students and his test questions are pretty simple and straight forward from lecturelab. Study guides are for the most part helpful. scantron AND written exams. Lab practicals have a lot but not tricky; need to know pictures AND models. Quizzes at start of each class period on previous day ppt's SUPER IMPORTANT! Some exams1 practical online. Gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. Amazing teacher. Lucky if you get in!

He is one of the best bio teacher! His quizzes and exams are straight forward, nothing tricky. Quizzes are in the beginning of class, don't be late! He is very helpful if you have questions, and provides open lab. Go to open lab for help and you will pass this class! Reading ahead, this way you can ask questions if you don't understand something.

Professor Won is an amazing teacher. He is straight forward with the material you need to know for quizzes, exams and labs. Lots of material so you really cant miss class. If you are unsure about something, he is always willing to briefly go over the topic again or during after class. Quizzes are given everyday. 7 exams/ 3 labs/ 3 histology quizzes

Do not skip class! Morning quizzes usually every lecture day worth 20pts each on previous day lectures. They add up. He drops lowest quiz and lowest lecture exam. Let's you take a final to make up for a bad exam. Use study guides and study as much as possible. Even if you slack a little bit you can get a B. (If you show up) Don't over do it though. Many points available and some extra credits too. Very fair grader!

Don't miss class, study for the quizzes, and finish the study guides and you should be good. He is a really nice guy and I think he understand that we NEED As and grades in a way that you learn what you need to without being tricky or too hard. If you don't get an A with him you should really consider changing your study habits.

Won's class is simple if you put the time in to rewrite & study your notes after the class lecture. He gives quizzes almost every class day. Exams are average in toughness, also CLEAR & not tricky. Took Dean Won for 430 & then went to take 431 at Sac State (sucked), realize what gem this guy is. In the beginning he comes of as an hard ass only to establish ground rules & weed out the slackers, but after that he is great. He teaches the concept so well, that you get it. Be on time, for quizzes. Exams are multiple choices & some short answers.

Won is an Amazing A&P professor. I have many students in my class that just come to ARC for his class. He is very understanding and is clear on what will be in this exams (7). He does give an optional final, which can help boost your grade. For me, the quizzes are a little tricky, but be sure to study. I took him for 430 and 431. Has Study guides!

I absolutely just love him. Easy class. 13 pt Quiz every class. 7 lecture exams. (which is better because its less material to remember & keeps you busy daily.) 3 lab practicals. (Easy) He POSTS all his lectures on youtube. There's just no way to fail. He's very fair & there's a chance for extra credit in every quiz/lab

Professor Won is outstanding! I've taken another A&P class before and it is nothing like prof Won's class. Prof Won makes it easy to comprehend the material. His lectures aren't heavy on the details. He takes the time to explain and give examples. He has study guides and posts his lectures to YouTube so if you miss something you can always review!

I have always hated Biology in my life. Bio 430 is my 1st class. This dude has made me LOVE Biology very much. So far I understand it very well. He has an amazing passion for the subject. One of the best teachers for a bio class! I dont know how I managed to get in since his class always fills up quick. Highly recommend to all! If you work for it you can easy get an easy A but remember you need to dedicate some time for that. One thing I didnt like is his pop quizzes. Just dont fall behind and youll do just fine

Dean Won is a great Professor! Every class be prepared for a pop quiz. The quizzes were tricky. The 7 exams are basically from the notes you take. The study guides werent helpful, beings he only uses 10-20% on the exams, if that; so it was like I was over studying. Be prepared to study. This is not a class you can wait until the last minute.

Prof Won is the best!! He gives study questions, lab exam study guides, and for written portions of exams, he tells you exactly what its gunna be! His lectures are the best and he records them and posts them on youtube. Most professors don't do that. Online homework due before test days. I highly recommend him and I respect him so much!!

Professor Won is a great professor. He will go out of his way to make sure you understand the material, if needing help. He Is very lecture heavy. You need to attend all lectures, as his quizes and exams are pulled straight from his lectures. He doesn't take roll, but it's in your best interest to attend all classes if you want to do well.

Professor Won is everything everyone said he would be. No wonder why it was so hard to get into his class! Anyways, assignments had due dates that were spread out in a 2 week span giving enough time for one to study for quizzes, exams, etc. He's a pretty straight forward teacher, I can't complain at all!

Professor Won was great! He is friendly, helpful, and his lectures are clear. You're allowed to use your notes on quizzes and exams, so you don't have to feel anxious about trying to memorize every detail. He even makes the Final Exam optional if you are happy with your grade at the end of the semester. What an incentive to do well during the term!

I took professor's Won BIOL431 during the summer semester, and even it was a huge amount of information that we have to cover for such a short amount of time, this course was much easier for me than BIOL430 with another professor. Professor Won is great, he has the deepest knowledge of subject, his lectures are so well explained. Exams are openbook

Biology typically is a tough class but professor won makes it as easy as possible. His lectures were all pre-recorded and easy to follow. Mastering AP homework wasn't hard. Lecture exams and lab practicals were all open book however he uses proctorio. Not an Easy A but pretty close.

The very best A/P professor within Los Rios! Took his 430 in Spring and 432 in summer. Learned a ton, made everything straight forward and easy to follow. Open note/book. Uses Proctorio. Summer was intense on time but still managed a fantastic grade. Love Professor Won!! His courses fill up QUICK for a reason!

Professor Won is the greatest professor I've ever seen. His online lectures, notes and lecture slides are very clear and you won't need to have the book. The Mylab home works are a little time consuming but very informative. It is an easy A if you see the lecture and study the notes.

He is absolutely amazing. Lectures are explained so thoroughly, and in depth you will be left with no questions. He is responsive, caring, and overall a great professor. Tests are easy to ace if you watch lecture and take notes. Light homework. Truly great prof. If you are going to be a nurse, be smart and chose him. You will NOT regret it.

Professor Won is an excellent professor. His lectures are long (expect about 3-6 hours a week) and he gives you all his notes for the exam. You can use your notes on the exams.

Dean Won is amazing. Helpful, caring, understanding. Watch lecture, take notes, ask questions, study, you will pass. Truly amazing professor. If you are pre-nursing take this professor he will prepare you for the TEAS very well. Overall loved him, and wish I could take him again. Do you self a favor and enroll in this class.

WOAH! Professor Won is amazing! He is caring and wants you to succeed. He makes sure you know what is expected of you in the beginning of the semester and gives you all the materials that you need. He is very organized. His study guide is very detailed and you will get a good grade if you focus on the study guide. I enjoy taking notes in his class!

Dr. Won is straightforward, dedicated, kind, and as you would expect, extremely knowledgeable. I took this class over the summer; while it is a LOT of necessary info to absorb, the efficient class structure makes it possible to learn everything well. If you put in the work, you'll retain everything you need to know for this class and beyond.

One of the best professors available, he really cares about his students and wants them to pass. He grades fairly quick and lets you know what he expects when giving exams. There are 3 lab practical, and 6-7 lecture exams. Its because he splits up the chapters for it to make sense. I really like how he records the lessons and uploads it on canvas.

If you have the chance to take this prof, then do it. He is a very knowledgeable professor, and makes sure that the material is understandable to his students. It is a lot of information but he breaks the workload into a schedule and as long as you follow that, you will be fine. Also do the study guides!!!! they cover whats going to be on the test

Professor Won is amazing! He's caring, funny, and really nice. The lectures can be a bit heavy, but you can definitely pass the class with his help. He has a great sense of humor that makes the lectures enjoyable. He also strike a good balance between lectures exams and lab practicals, giving you enough time to prepare. I highly recommend him!

He's the nicest BIO prof at ARC. only offers SSC for 10 points EC, which most students couldn't get b/c you can only complete that twice. This just depends, but for my class, we had no quizzes at all. He did do a lot of lab group projects which got a bit annoying at times. cant miss a day b/c he asks lect questions for credit. doesnt curve exams.

This Professor was AMAZING! I took him for 431 after not doing so well in Biol 430 and was very happy with how he taught and my grades! Labs were fun and everything he puts on lectures and study guides is on the Exams!!

Professor Won is the BEST A&P professor at ARC. Long and heavy lectures and you must study as hard as you can. Lecture exams are based on notes and study guides. If you know your notes and study guide you will get an A on the lecture exams.

Professor Won is the BEST A&P professor at ARC. I had him for BIOL 430 and BIOL 431. BIOL 431 is harder than BIOL 430. So, you should work hard and study hard for it. The lectures are heavy and a lot of information to know. Lecture exams are based on notes and study guides.

NO grade bumps and NO test curving. Don't bother asking him for either. Online homework every 2 -3 weeks or so on pearson mylab. Some of his lectures are online. I managed to pass with an A along with taking another science course only because I spent at least 25 hours a week studying. He offers some extra credit with SSC.

Professor Won is engaging and knowledgeable. The lectures are thorough, but with Unstuck ai and the provided study guides, you can ace the exams. Attend class, do the work, and you'll get an A.

I had him for 430/431. Don't enroll for a/p and whine about the difficulty. The only way to fail is to not put effort in. I have tested this theory twice ;). He is the EASIEST a/p prof. if you fail won, change major. Prepare to spend at least 25 hrs a week studying. attendance gives points. easy A if you arent lazy...

This Professor is very caring and understanding. I took him for 430 and 431. I received an A in both classes. Offers many opportunities to increase your grade. You have to put in the work and study but it is well worth it. He is always available to help if you don't understand. Take him if you want to pass with an A.

I am a dsps student with horrible memory and I am so grateful for Professor Won to let us use cards on the exam. He's also incredibly understanding, provide reasonable hw that some is later on the exam, and actually wants us to pass + having us learn! Take this class b4 you miss out. Very popular teacher!! U STILL NEED TO WORK HARD!!! STUDY !!

Explains everything easier and is extremely kind and patient with all of his students. Everybody in the class passed :D I love how once an hour or two in the lecture, he does these quiz recaps which helps us quiz ourselves (it counts as attendance not if correct) and explains them more thoroughly. A genuine, humble professor. HE DESERVES A RAISE!

Get 3x5 cheat sheet back/front on lecture exams. many extra online lectures. can get 5 points with corrections each exam. 5 lecture exams.4 lab exams. optional cumulative final that can either hurt or help your grade. no reminders on online work. allows a few letters off in spelling.

I felt like there was a lot of information to digest in a short period of time. Professor Won does a great job of making a complex topic easy to understand. His online lectures were recorded during covid and some can be lengthy. He is very down to earth. The assignments are clearly laid out. Exams are open notes. Final is optional.

COMPARED TO OTHER SCIENCE CLASSES THIS WAS SO EASY. Homework takes a few hours since it's just quizzing you on a chapter for a certain amount of time. Easy exams, timed & proctored but notes are allowed. Labs are the online simulations. Professor is really sweet and helps anytime it's needed. No zoom meetings or discussions just hw & exams!!!!

He is so talented, and try to understand everyone. Also he is not tough grader, he is seeing if the class had struggle with their exams and their scores, he provides extra credit points.

I previously reviewed this class for the first part of A&P on May 14th, 2025. Everything I mention there is the same except we had 6 lecture exams and 3 lab exams. Still get a cheat sheet and everything. Im so glad I dropped out of Daniel Slutsky's week one and waited for another semester to get Won. Definitely worth to have him for both classes.

Professor Won is an amazing teacher. His exams and lab practicals are very straight forward. They do cover a lot of material but he provides study guides and allows a notecard for exams. He is a great teacher, very organized, super sweet and understanding. I wish he could teach all of my classes.

Hands down the best professor! His lectures are super clear and easy to follow, and you can rewatch them on Canvas, which really helps. He gives tons of extra credit and even lets you use an index card on exams. The lab exams are simple and straightforward, the study guides help a lot, and reviewing the lecture notes prepares you. Highly recommend!
