Best teaching method I've ever encountered;Makes sure you understand material and can implement it into life;Highly recommend this class-he's good
Too demanding with details and very hard exams. Grade is based off of test scores so if you're not a good test taker you're screwed. He has a way of humoring stupid people too, in a sarcastic sense.

Doesn't explain well and very confusing, but you need this class to transfer.
Serious attitude issues. Maybe small mans complex. Resistant to answering questions and is insulting to students at times. For experimental Psychology expect to give 4-6 twenty to thirty minute presentations. What a pain.
mean guy really spite full and ver very very unwilling to help students in a crunch
This man has the tightest ass of anyone I have ever met! Seriously anal and rude, horrible grading system, and extremely unwilling to meet students halfway with help, let alone go that extra mile. Basically, he doesn't give a crap.
Not an easy grader to say the least. If you feel like being tested on notes, everything in the book, and stuff you don't know, take this class. In contrast to the testing I actually learned more than I thought would from this class and it was interesting.
Had his class for two weeks, which was too long. Very unwilling to help students and very short when answering your questions and at time makes you feel like your question was a very stupid one! Very unlike any other teacher I have ever had at sierra!
The man laughed at me because I didn't understand something he explained. Who does that? Really? I still got an A in his class but I think he was somewhat unclear and unhelpful. And MEAN!!!
he doesn't know how to teach without a power point presentation. and he likes to talk about how him and his wife brew thier own beer. poor guy, he's a product of the psychology warehouse; uncreative and robotic and arrogant.
Had him @ Roseville gateway for summer session-he maybe better during a normal semester. I found him rigid, unhelpful and out of touch with the class. Suggest you find someone else; I can't recommend him at all.
i did not do well on his first exam and we spoke about how to do better. he said to come to class read ask questions and see how things go. my grades improved and i think i learned a lot about how to be a better student. lectures are clear but you have to read and pay attention if you want to do wel
Really good. Really clear. Difficult courses. I took two classes from him and both of them were VERY VERY helpful to me after transfering. Both were harder than you average Sierra course but thats not hard to do.
Straightforward easy to follow. As a returning student, I appreciated being treated like an adult.
Teaches staight out of the book, and is very clear.
very good teacher, no hw, what more could u want?
he test's out of the book and if you are just taking it as a GE read the book, ignore the lecture and you'll pass the tests. I only showed up for tests and baely studied and i passed with a C
easy class if u take notes and pay attention. reading out of the book is helpful on exams. no hw, and only 4 exams throughout the semester and no FINAL! wut more could a student want?
Good teacher.
Great teacher. Very easy. Gives you the notes online so you don't even have to take any! Pay attention in class, read the notes, and read the chapters like you should for any class and you'll do great. Nice guy. Only 4 tests and no cumulative final!
not very good!!!
Such a hard class! You have to really know the material in order to do well on the tests. Teacher does add extra points sometimes though. Very organized.
Pretty Boring. Easy "B". An "A" is possible if you work! Not bad overall!
Yoshizumi Lectures are extremely dull; he has a very monotone voice and sounds as if he is reading from the textbook. I was surprised that only one student snored loudly in his class. I got an A, but it was not easy.
I've heard that he is great for psych 1 but I think he hates teaching stats and it shows. Lectures were boring and he was very reluctant and sometimes mean when people asked question. But, when I had him, he was the only professor teaching psych stats. If you read this, Yoshizumi: GET A NEW BOOK, PLEASE!!!!
The class is easy if you attend everyday and use the resources online that he provides for you. Just stay on top of things and you can easily get an A. Lots of lecture.
All notes are done for you on power point. Read the chapters, take notes while you read and you'll have an A. He was alwyas in his office or available when needed. He used amusing examples and had fun facts...
Dude! This guy is awesome! His lectures are really interesting, he's totally laid back and easy going. He knows what he's talkin about. I highly recommend him!

Lectures put me to sleep and I NEVER sleep in class. Laid back, but hasn't made the class fun yet
cool guy, puts notes online so i u miss class you can get the notes,a lecture class (thats pretty boring),he is nice and sometimes tries to throw in some humor in his lectures...but everyone is too busy staring blankly at the wall behind him or sleeping to catch it.
Yoshizumi has a lot of interesting material, but his lectures were boring because he just read off the powerpoint. I always wanted to go to sleep, especially when we were talking about sleep. No homework, but hard tests.
Great teacher. Sure its hard, but if youre interested in the subject, then you should be able to learn the material. Whatever you dont understand is your own fault becuase he is very willing to answer any questions that anyone may have.
****! He's a total arrogant prick who's not interested in helping you at all. I would never take one of his classes ever again
he means so well, and wants everyone to learn about and love psychology like he does, but class time is useless. he provides notes online which is very helpfull, and the reading covers everything the online notes don't. basically read, and review the online notes... and the only class days you have to attend are testing days.

this class was way to hard. If you miss 1 test you fail the class. I recommend Coday anyday over him. His lectures were way too boring.
I liked him! The class was not hard at all. It was a little boring sometimes, but if you just come to class and never read the book, you can get a B in the class. I got an A and I didn't work at it. He posts the notes online, but only that day that class was happening, so you had to wake up early in the morning to get his notes, but they were worth it!
Nice guy, but painfully boring. Pyschology is supposed to be interesting, and fun. Yoshi is painful. His powerpoint notes are vague, and don't help that much. Don't take his class...he has the personality of a stone
His lectures are extremely boring and very vague. It's a very easy class though because there are 4 tests and no other work whatsoever. As long as you rad and study, you can do well (you don't even need to show up except for tests).
In order to succeed in Yoshizumi's class, you need constant access to the internet. Don't slack on the reading, and DO think critically about the concepts. It's a difficult but interesting course. Only problem I had was that he doesn't like questions because he has to think outside the textbook, which he only encourages in tests.
take someone else he was very boring
easy if you read your material
I DISAGREE WITH ALL THE OTHER COMMENTS. DEAN IS A GREAT TEACHER AND IS VERY CLEAR AND HELPFUL. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PAY ATTENTION AND YOU WILL DO FINE.
lectures are boring but the class itself is easy. you'll do fine as long as you read and study his notes and the text.
he sucked he didn't give any assignments and he was boring as hell!
Bounced off-topic frequently, text was dry at best and his lectures took up the entirety of the class time. Your ENTIRE grade is based on 4 tests. Your preparation for the test are a "study guide" which has 10 multiple choice questions on it which COULD be on the test. Tests designed to trick, not test knowledge. Poor class at best, no learning
he really sucked and was horribly boring. i was very interested in taking pyschology and he made me not want to take another course in psych. he never answered questions and his lectures never had anything to do with the reading. i would not recommend anyone taking his class ever!
Power point class. He's young, that's cool, but other than that....BORING. That class absolutely bored me to death. I couldn't focus on what we were doing because it wasn't much and his powerpoint presentations (aka the entire class) started to hurt my eyes. I wouldn't recommend him at all.
This guy is awful and shouldn't be teaching. Hes a smart guy but is very confusing when explaining his lessons and extremely boring. Little effort is put forth on his behalf, and his tests are impossible. There is no study guide and he wont hint what will be on tests. When you ask questions in class he makes you feel stupid. DONT take him!
Against what has been commented previously, he is not so horribly boring; my two other professors were more so than he. Secondly, He has a ph.d and is well informed. I liked the material he concentrated on and I'll be taking another class of his. He will without a doubt help you if you plan to transfer.
Overall this guy is very dull, and his class lectures will put you to sleep. He uses power point to explain just about everything in the class. The first 2 or 3 weeks are easy but after that you will spend countless hours studying the most pointless crap. Don't expect to learn much from his lessons, the book is your teacher even though it sucks too
this class is very informative although when you offer any information he totally discredits what you say and makes you regret saying anything at all. the entire class is focused around powerpoint and the book. easy class. tests are not that hard if you study.
His psyc 1 class is boring, but an easy class. Psych 42 is difficult to understand and he doesn't offer much clarification. I asked him for outside resources for study material and he told me to make up my own based on the book. He doesn't offer a clear picture of what he expects us to know, and doesn't give much homework to practice.
He's an okay teacher. The class is really boring. But he puts his powerpoints on the internet, so you can print them and follow along with his lectures. He gets ALL his test questions from those powerpoints, but you HAVE to study. Nice guy, but doesnt know how to teach to get the students interested. Dont really need the textbook.
tests are unfairly based on pointless class attendance (boring as hell) and also unrelative to the course material. boo.
This class was hard for me- I was never sure what would be expected on tests, and I think he grades hard at times.
this guy does not know how to teach. your grade is based on the 4 tests and that's it. you're lucky if he gives out xtra cred at the end of the semester. if you do bad on the tests, you do bad in the WHOLE class. boring, all he ever did were powerpoints. class never showed up, only test days. if u need psych 1, don't take this guy.
WORST TEACHER EVER!!!! Do not take this class, I studied my ass off adn did all the possible extra credit and only got a C. I have a 4.0 other than his class! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! You will regret it if you do, our class average was a C- that should tell you something.
I just dropped this class.Believe the reviews! Awful from Day1! His lectures do not follow the book.He gives you "sample questions" for the upcoming tests however won't tell you the answers to help you.You take a quiz and you don't get it back to help you study for tests. His style is not condusive to your success.Ihave a 4.0 and not willing to get
nice guy, worthless teacher. definite affirmative action recipient.
It's ok, but for me It's too fast to get it. I think He only understand what he says in the class. He should stop teaching. I had never understood the question I asked. He is ... out of order.
easy easy easy easy easy. class is cake. grade based on 4 tests -thats it. just show up, pay attention, skim the chapters in the book, and your good.
ps i have an A. almost everything is common sense
Good Instructor. He just expects a lot out of his students. He's cool and he gives out a lot of info you have to pay attention, take good notes and show up to class. It's not an easy A by any means. He knows his stuff and is on point. He does not teach down to the lowest common denominator so I think thats where some students have problems.
I never had a motivation to come to his class, when i did go it was very boring and i felt like i would have benefited more by staying home. my class was at 9:30 so maybe a later class where you would be more awake would be helpful
Horrible teacher. Even if you go to every single class and listen to his lectures, which he just sits on a table and talks to the whole class while sitting down, you still will not do good. His tests are tricky, easy C without reading but if you want to learn about psychology, do NOT take him! BORING!
Complainers: you will never make it at a real university! Yoshizumi is smart and expects a lot from his students. He expects you to show up to class, physically and mentally. He won't treat you like a High School student. He's one of the tougher teachers at Sierra College. He'll prepare you for a UC or private school.
I hated this class with a passion. He was boring and monotonous. He couldn't answer people's questions. The tests were 70% on voacabulary and if you didn't give him the definition word for word either from the book or the lecture he would mark you down. He assigns a bunch of busy work. If you can take Psych 42 with anyone else, DO IT!
I had him for Psych 5 & 42. hated this class, I dropped it last semester & now taking them @ ARC (WAYYY EASIER & love them!!) He just expects waay too much for psych 5 especially making u do ur own experiment w/out having very good knowledge/sources. Hard exams, just looking for definitions, basically memorize all the terms n bk exactly to pass.
i seriously hate both classes. he expects you know everything before class, and he never explain well on concepts. he is discouraging and makes you feel bad when you try to ask him how to do better in class. sighhhh frustrating, just dont take him.
The ones who are giving him bad reviews: HE DESERVES IT! The only students that get decent grades are the suck ups and the ones who have nothing better to do with their time. We pay for an education, but we don't get one. He is awful, arrogant, does not deserve the name professor or teacher & a jerk. I took 42 & 5, trust me take them somewhere else
Great teacher. He is very smart and knows what he is doing. Class was really interesting and no final was nice. Just do the reading and pay attention and you'll be fine.
It's a toss-up whether or not you will get your grade in this class. I understood the material by the end, but it's the only C I've ever received. He'll circle one meaningless word in a paragraph of definition and mark off half the credit, so memorize the exact definitions and don't attempt to prove you know anything beyond the basics.
he is sucks. He does not know how to teach, which means he believes that all his students already have knowledge of experimental psychology. what he knows is only looking down on all students. I hate his clas. Not fair, complicated, no make sense, i am tired of his "philosophy" ****!!!
Yoshizumi is the hardest teacher for the course. His course is based on four tests which are each the majority of one's final grade. His lectures are long and it is very difficult to simultaneously pay attention to his powerpoint with his long lectures. I recommend another teacher. His multiple choice questions are just terrible. DO NOT TAKE IT!!!!

He is a mean teacher that barely teaches material covered on his impossible tests! Take some other teacher. This guy needs to make the class material contingent on his exams. The exams are 80% of the grade and they are impossible.
dull. his lectures are boring, his powerpoints could be worse. if you have a question or you're trying to make a comparison, he will literally laugh at you and treat you like a child. even if you're right, he will reword your comments to make you sound incorrect. tests are multiple choice and you either do great or awful.
Let me put it this way, if you are actually smart-you will love him. No one likes him simply because his tests are hard. The class content is boring-and yes, the lectures can get tiring, but he will do ANYTHING to help. Unlike other general ed teachers on campus, he really requires you to actually learn to do well. Not an easy A-get over it.
If you are trying to take psych 42 or psych 5 I recommend going to A.R.C. or if you can manage to get a different techer, do that! This guy's tests are unreasonably hard. He lectures about mostly computations and then the tests are almost all conceptual. The homework for his class was also annoying. AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS.
What a bunch of complainers! Ok here's the run down. Read the book, go to class, and pay attention. That's all you have to do to get an easy A. No homework, just tests. Yes, the book isn't the greatest read, and lectures can get boring, but the content is amazing; I wish i knew this stuff 6 years ago.
This instructor is an over-achiever and not very good in communicating concepts.Unless you have a talent for statistics, his class can be extremely frustrating. His tests are unusualy difficult and his teaching style is inflexible. Missing one class can put you far behind, making outside tutoring nessasary. AVOID HIM if you have the option!
I thought he was a really nice guy, but I am wondering how he got into teaching because he is lousy at it. I loved psychology prior to this, but HATED this class. My suggestion is to try to get a diffrent teacher who you can actually learn from.
your grade is solely dependent on your performance on your tests. lectures are long, e.x. is limited and time consuming, and overall its a challenging teacher.
Dean is a great teacher. Your grade depends on the tests, but he gives enough extra credit to raise a test grade. In order to do well in the class you must attend lectures, study, and read. He is very easy to understand, but talks low so sitting in front is ideal.
I'm sorry to say that reading the textbook was more enjoyable than the actual class. Yoshizumi is more boring that watching molasses drain through a coffee filter!...yeah, that boring. He speaks in a monotone voice. Your grade is based on 4 tests...no final though. He offers extra credit...so there is no excuse for not getting a C at least.
Dean is a good professor that you will actually learn something from. I'm glad he's hard, keeps the wannabe psych majors away. He's a university level professor that will make sure you actually learn something if you study to get an A or B. If you wanna get a feel for real Academia take Dean, you will not regret it in the end.
I liked the lectures he gave. although at times, he went on and on about things that were not on tests. which i didnt get. I got a B in his class by coming to class every once in a while. it got worse as the semester went on. studied a lot the night before the test and got a B in the class. you can get by without going to class. but its harder.
He's a nice guy but terrible when it comes to teaching his Stats class. He doesn't hand back homework, post the powerpoints, give grade Any type of progress reports, make studyguides or even let you keep the tests to review your mistakes. If you have to take his stats class prepare to teach yourself the material.
Like others have said his tests are extremely hard. You must attend class and read the text. I would definately pick a different teacher if you can.
He was horrible. All he did was turn on the computer and follow a power point lecture the.You only earn 160 points the semester through the 4 tests he gives. The tests are hard and he doesn't cover half of the information in the lectures. I would not recommend this teacher for anybody unless you like to listen to monotone lecture.
I am a stright A student and I don't even think I'm going to pass his class. he's been sick 3 times and he lets every class go early. If you like preparing for a test that you don't even know what's going to be covered than he's the professor for you! I would avoid him unless you like feeling less than and confused!
He was horrible. I get As and Bs in all of my classes but this is the first class ive had to withdraw from because I was going to fail. His tests are ridiculous. 1/4 info comes from text, another 1/4 from lecture and i dont even know where the rest comes from. i studied hard too. so not take this professor even as a last resort!
LISTEN!!!! I have a 3.5 GPA and I have just been accepted to multiple Universities (don't listen to those who think he's good). Out of the 20 professors I've had, this guy is hands down the worst. DO NOT TAKE HIM! If you do you'll see I'm right, but I would rather be wrong.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. super duper boring. very hard to stay awake in class. his tests make no sense. i read the book, took notes, and came to class and barely passed and im a psych major! try to avoid at all costs.
He's a terrible teacher. All of his lectures are about how to be a good student. He hardly teaches anything from the book. Had Cynthia Christensen a year ago and I had to retake the class for a better grade, and all I know from Psychology right now is what I remember from her classes. I don't even attend his classes anymore because they're useless.
he lectures about things that are not related to the tests but you do not ever have to go to class so you can just stay at home read and show up for tests, do all the extra credits. its easy i liked his lectures because although it didn't help with test it helps you with life
Do not take him. He makes you read the book a lot but half of each test is always information I've never heard before. He OFFERS some extra credit but even if you do it, he doesn't really give the extra points out. Very demanding. And when he talks it looks and sounds like he has a cough drop in his mouth. But he doesn't.
His whole class is a lecture. His tests are not reflective of notes/tests. All of the test questions are indirect, so if your studying specific definitions of words, you are screwed. After I failed the first 2 exams, I had no choice but to drop the class. Trust me, I am not a bad student, and have NEVER been in a situation like that.
I had to withdraw from this class after 2 exams which I failed. I have never done so horrible in a class. I think you can read evreyone else's comments about him, because they are all correct. Something is just not right with his exams.
He was so bad. I studied hard for the tests but after failing 2 tests I had to withdraw. First time ever :( I never give up on classes and I was sad to have to do so. However it was either that or failing. I would advise that even if he is the last professor available to take your last class for laste semester before transfer, still don't take him.
Hands down the worst teacher I have EVER had!
if you want to pass you need to understand this subject with ease. or read every chapter which is ALOT. you go to class. sit there and copy down his powerpoint then leave. super boring and not everything from powerpoint is on test. he gives out interesting info but thats cuz its psychology its just diffictult. you need to read the book to pass.
4 test and thats all that counts towards your grade, unless you do the extra credit which is only worth a few points. so unless you pass the tests you wont pass. and tests are hard.
Such a bad teacher!! He lectures so quickly so there is no time to listen and take notes, but then lets us out a half hour early. Hes already missed two classes. He doesn't give us homework assignments back or let us keep tests. No sort of progress reports. Lectures are computations and tests are conceptual.
He can definately come off as rude. His class is do-able but i would put it at the end of the list... tests were extremely hard. you HAVE to do the extra credit to get a reasonable grade, and that is probably the hardest thing about the class... just try to avoid this class
not helpful at all
PLEASE DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS! Look, at first he seems helpful, but he's not. He misses classes (which this semester wasn't his fault, I will give him that). He lectures so fast that note taking or even listening is difficult. In this class, he gives out homework assignments on the chapter (BEFORE it's learned). That, to me, is a bad teaching style.

oky the clas was not that hard. An 87 is an A, 77 B 67 C. He gives extra credit at the end which is very helpful. you have to read your book before class then you understand what he is talking about. if you read its and easy A if you dont your a dumb### and should fail.
He knows what he is talking about, he just can't relate it to the class. If you want to get an A, pay extra attention and learn from the book, you'll need it later.
do not take his class. and if you do get ready for a butt load of homework on chapters you haven't even covered in class yet. his communication skills suck. sometimes he'll try to make you seem stupid. he's not very helpful when you have a question or he will answer it very vaguely. good luck.
one of the worst freaking teachers i have ever had. don't expect him to lecture, i have only like 2 pages of notes, you pretty much teach yourself from the book and his tests are pretty hard, read every chapter, the rest of the time it's papers and presentations which he barely tells us what he wants from us,strongly reccommend taking a diff teacher
Needed to withdraw after I failed the first 2 exams after extensive studying. Went to talk to a counselor about it, just to see what the cons for withdrawing were because ive never done it before. S/he guessed who my prof was before I even told her (just from describing the situation) and said that yoshizumi was "just in his own little world"
Experiment psych is no joke. Study the book. Take notes on what u read!!! Lectures are supplements. Do AS HE SAYS! Ppl don't like him b/c he doesn't spoon feed them answers but it is an upper division class so don't expect it to be easy. I got an A. It is doable! You will need to do an experiment at the end.
This class is more conceptual than computation. Hence, you must read the book. Memorize terms. Understand what those terms mean. Than apply them to the math. There is a curve. 87 for an A. Study and you will be fine!!
Lectures on concepts on the homework assignment you just completed. Did seem to put some kind of effort if you were willing to stay and ask, but most in-class questions were breezed over. Tests are entirely conceptual and expect you to know every topic PERFECTLY for full credit. No real way of knowing your actual grade. Sorry, Psych majors. :(.
Three difficult tests, virtually no in-class lecture on questions actually on the test (only had three lecture periods the entire semester). Book is absolutely required. Learning to understand psychological journals and creating experiments (running one is the final) are fun. Became more helpful towards the end of the semester...still not worth it.
Excellent teacher. Intelligent and EXTREMELY modest guy. Will take the time to help you understand. Teaches concepts, not factoids, so those who JUST study out of the book... Work hard, study hard, do ALL the extra cred (extremely valuable, but he grades harhly), get an A. 34/44 q's correct for an A on more than 1 exam. Tests are difficult tho...
Take his class over summer. It is the EASIEST class. No homework, I haven't opened my book once, and the tests and quizes are a breeze if you pay attention.
Mr. Yoshizumi is a very friendly, personable instructor who is always willing to help. He taught off of powerpoint presentations and lecture so take GOOD notes. Also, you need to read the assigned chapters. With lots of review and study you should manage to receive a good grade.
Has the dean or dept chair not read these reviews??? I am a 4.2 gpa student and am struggling in this class. We have only had 5 classes thus far and every one of them were dismissed at least 30 minutes early. Whether students had questions or not. 45 minutes before class ended today (and after our first quiz) Mr. Y packed up to leave. A studen
He is not an easy teacher, he will make you work for the grade you deserve. But he knows Psychology. I appreciated his intellect and how he didn't make anything easy. He makes things hard because he thinks his students are capable of doing the work. He will help students who are genuine, dont try to have him spoon feed you answers because hes smart
His tests were from the lectures and chapter material. The chapters are long and tedious if you dont love psychology, and I thought I loved it! The tests were harder than I expected and he isnt super apporachable and laughs at his own jokes.
He does not teach anything. There are four exams throughout the semester and that is the grade you get. There is no hw or any other assignments. He talks so softly that you may fall asleep in class. He does not explain the material, just rambles on about his interests and shows unrelated youtube videos.
These 2 classes are mandatory for a psych degree from Sierra & for some colleges for transfer. It's unfortunate that he has the corner market on these classes. He's a very nice guy but a ruthless professor. Teaches as if it is a doctoral course and seems to suck the fun out of psych. Dreaded class @ end of semester. Gotta be self-motivated to pass.
Took his class my first semester of college. and he almost ruined my experience. He is soo boring!!! and is very monotone. at first i tried really hard and still failed test cuz he get info out of his butt that we didnt cover to toward the end i slept in some cases. and ended up with a D in the class. im retaking it this semester with a diff teache
Horrible, arrogant teacher! I have a 3.9 GPA and work hard. Yoshizumi is not just a "hard" teacher. Notice the only positive comments are from psych 1 classes...DO NOT recommend for 42 or 5. Also does not like women! Anything you learn will be on your own.
He is horrible! I tried so hard in his class, I studied hours upon hours and failed every test. He is also not helpful at all, I stayed after class once and he was not helpful at all! I had to drop because I was afraid of failing.
The only way you will do well on the tests and online quizzes is to pay attention during the lecture + take notes as well as reading all of the chapters. His lectures are very boring, but paying attention definitely pays off. Sit in the front, his voice isn't very loud. 4 tests and 3 extra credit opportunities.
Horrible. Do not take this teacher his tests are impossible and the only way you can get by is with a tiny bit of extra credit which he still grades really hard. DO NOT TAKE!!!!
he is very monotone! he talks pretty much about the same couple of things all through the semester, one of which is study habbits. He also always says "sord of" and "kinda of" which drove me nuts. he doesn't go over much of whats on the test and expects you to read the all the chapters.

Reading your text is absolutely mandatory. Tests are pretty difficult. Entire grade is based on quizzes and tests. Grading is NOT on a curve whatsoever. I was fortunate to get extra credit opportunities which saved my grade. In class lecture occassionally has specific examples used on test questions. Study study study and you can do well. Not easy!
Tough grader. If you study REALLY hard, you can do well on tests. If you don't put in the work, you will not do well in his class. Tests and quizzes are your only grades. No homework. Three extra credit 3-page papers worth 3pts each only. Work hard and you can succeed in his class
He's a psych prof teaching a math class, and he doesn't explain ANY of the math! Stats is supposed to be an easy class, but with him, it's IMPOSSIBLE.
no homework! but really difficult tests! I got a B on the midterm and then then failed the final. read the text
Of my 4 years at Sierra College, I have not had a worse teacher. He does not answer questions, and is plain rude on many occasions. He takes forever to return assignments, and doesn't post grades. he grades written exams INCREDIBLY difficult. AVOID AT ALL COSTS I would rather take this class at a different school farther away if possible.
he doesnt treat this like high school & isnt an easy grader. need to come to class & read text. he wont tell you the the right answers to missed questions- wants to promote further research. i like the subject, read each chapter, & show up to each class, & have an a w/o extra credit- which he gives a lot of. no hw, chapter quizzes online, 4 tests.
Ouch. I don't think I've ever had a prof like that. Prepare for the butt load of work and get motivated to teach yourself the material from the book. His tests are particularly hard, since there's no real way to find out what's going to be on it. If you have a natural talent for stats, maybe you'll do better than me.
He is a terrible profesor. He refuses to answer questions and the tests are extremley hard for how little he lectures. Out of the 50 people in class there are now 17 so he doesnt take roll. He is overall rude, lazy, and he needs to be fired. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!
Don't take this class if your not up for a challange.Read the chapter before the lecture. He wants to make sure you understand the concepts of what he is teaching so quizzes and tests may provide some confusion but if you understand the general terms and their meaning you should be ok. No homework, grades based off tests & quizzes. Ask Questions!
He does powerpoint slides ALL class. No classwork no homeowork. only a test online, open book. 10 questions very hard, didnt like his way of teaching
Terrible teacher. I do not think that I learned anything. He just expects you to read everything and know it all when you come to class. I recommend to all new freshman that they do NOT take this class because his teachings are very mature and you have to focus in that class. VERY VERY HARD!!!!
This class is completely conceptual. THis was a repeat for me of the exact same stuff, but this time it was taught very differently and I found that he did not relate the material well to the concepts. He kinda of expected you to grab it out of thin air. Boring, boring instructor.
Probably the class I dreaded most each day. There was no point to each lecture other than to watch slides of what you would later read in the book. Occasionally there were demonstrations that were helpful, but they were rare. Online quizzes on each chapter - open book. Doesn't go over answers after, which appear on the test. Glad I passed...
Yoshizumi is straight forward. Do the reading, go to class, take notes. I did the reading and got a A on a test. I didn't do the reading and got a B on the next test. He does open note chapter quizzes with the chance to take them twice. He is a good teacher with good lectures.
Why is everyone saything this is hard.. I took this as my first general ed class and it is very easy just pay attention, lectures are somewhat irrelevant at times but this is basically a repeat of high school but more in depth.
Definitely one of the worst professors I've dealt with. He is very unhelpful and not very nice. All he does is read off powerpoints and give pop quizzes ocassionally. He never hands anything back and he never posts any grades. He gives you no idea of what to expect for the exams and he just says to refer to the book. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
Honestly, I liked professor Yoshizumi. His tests are only hard if you don't go to class. Even then they aren't that hard, if you follow what he's teaching and read occasionally you'll do well. You can borrow or rent the book. I missed 6 class periods and a test, I talked to him about it afterwards and he gave me the week to retake it. Nice guy.
Dont take this class unless you want to be stressed all year. I just wish I had taken this advice before I signed up.
Yoshizumi is on his own planet and shows little interest in teaching. You'll find this out with how often he cancels class, ends class early when people still need clarity and with how little he cares about what you take from the class. He doesn't post grades until the end of the semester and you will not learn anything.
He lectures all class but if you pay attention to him you will find the class to be very easy. No homework except reading from the book. Gives the opportunity for extra credit. Gives quizes and test that are all multiple choice. Is easy to talk to and ask question. I like the class and wanted to take another with this professor.
This was my first semester of college, and he was terrible, and so rude to me when i asked him how to do better in his class. He is not oenminded and made me feel really stupid. Dont take this class if you dont do well on tests, becuase all it is are 4 tests and 8 quizzes and some extra cedit. I do not suggest this teacher!
I would NEVER recommend this teacher to anyone. He only lectures and there is no homework. No homework is nice although would be very helpful!! Also when it comes time to an exam Never does he let the class know what chapters it will be on. If you want a decent grade I wouldn't recommend him because you'll end up taking the class all over again :(
Being present and paying attention are the keys to succeeding. He explains all the concepts and gives multiple examples to help understand. Pop-quizes and tests offer more points than what is needed to get full credit, but they're tough and require you actually understand the material. Downfall-No help, get a tutor and make sure to read.
He is not a very good teacher at all and doesn't explain questions or even answer them. Talks very quiet and the tests are very hard, even if you know all the info he puts in his own wording and makes it very difficult to understand the question.
Although I received an A in the course I feel Yoshizumi is not as good of a teacher as he is a student. He is very intelligent yet only lectures and doesn't tell you what will be on the test. He expects you to absorb all of the material by mainly reading. I sometimes had to spend a whole day of my weekend just reading the long and dry text. Avoid!!
Worst teacher ever!! His lectures make you want to fall asleep. His lectures do not correlate with the tests what so ever. If you want to do good you have to read the book. Overall he is not helpful and is not a good teacher.
Don't take him. I was really excited about taking psychology, maybe even considering it as my major. Definitely not after having him. The class is boring, he teaches off of powerpoint every single day. It gets so repetitive and dry. The class was not interesting in the least and he offers no direction. You HAVE to read or else forget about passing.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! There is no point to even showing up to class when he just talks off the powerpoints. Has a few pop quizzes and a couple tests. You definitely have to read the book. This teacher is very boring to listen to all period. I do not recommend this class at all. Choose a different teacher because he is terrible!!!!
Thank god I passed this class! He is just not a good teacher. You basically have to teach yourself about the topic. You have to read the long dry textbook!! And he doesn't tells what to expect on the tests. The chapters are so long and he tests you on a small portion of it. Doesn't take roll nor care if you show up or not. He lectures all day.
psych majors..STAY AWAY. horrible horrible HORRIBLE!!!!!! i was so excited about taking psychology, seeing that it is my major. This professor almost RUINED it for me. i had to drop the class because i knew i was setting myself up for failure. the tests aren't even on the material, the text is very dry,& seems like he doesn't know what he's doing
So not gonna lie I read all 165 reviews for this professor. Funny. I was in his class for three weeks before dropping it because it is just pointless. After three weeks he never once taught us anything. He explained how to be a good student. Never related to anything to do with psych. He is rude, and one of those people who is smart but cant teach.
Seriously doesn't teach anything except how to study and be a good student. Such a boring psych class, but an easy A if you read the book and do all of the online work. No midterm or final, only 4 tests, and 8 pop quizzes. Tests focus more dominantly on book content rather than notes in class. Fairly nice guy who knows a lot but doesn't teach well.
He seems like he would be a really good teacher. Hes really nice and he seems really smart. But he is a horrible teacher. He doesnt teach anything. His tests are made up of confusing examples and theories which he never went over in class. If you want to pass you have to read the text book. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Very good professor, learned a lot from his class. It was a little boring at times, but i gained a lot from his lectures. Make sure you do the HW online & study the text, because the quizzes/tests are based on the material in the textbook.
The content is interesting and easy to learn as long as you read the online textbook and do the online quizzes. Random (pop) quizzes are given throughout the semester that aren't too difficult and the tests aren't too long and not bad as long as you study. Attending class regularly will help on quizzes and tests by taking notes well and reviewing
Basically just basic, you honestly just need to show up for class. Mostly everything on the exams/quizzes is from the lecture, like the psychology research materials. Its a difficult class and he expects a lot from you.
Things to do if you take this class: attend class, read the book, do the learning curves, at the exams don't try to choose the correct answer from the multiple choice-instead have your correct answer in your mind..and only after choose the right one. God Bless!
Horrible teacher, Never directly answers any questions asked in class. Makes up his own tests that are full of confusing and stupid questions. Learning curves (homework) was aggravating. Never knew what exactly my grade was all semester. DON'T TAKE HIM. Doesn't care about his students or the grades they get. He's the worst.
Bad teaching, he tries to explain his course but still doesn't get it. Doesn't know how to teacher
DO NOT TAKE HIMMMM!!!! He doesn't talk about anything beneficial, or about anything that is on any of the tests. Hes rude, talks to you like your stupid, hes boring, and even straight A goodie good students fail his class.
I can't begin to describe the disappointment that rings through my soul after taking this mans class. I have never in my life been more confused on what is being taught in my life. The lectures were pointless, and nothing taught was ever put on the test, it was like the information was pulled up somewhere else and slapped onto his tests. DON'T TAKE
Nice guy, clear on material. Frequent quizzing but they are simple as long as you have reviewed lecture material. Funny guy and tests are fair.
His lectures are hard to get into. Very monotone and just repeats himself. Doesnt elaborate in his teachings. The book was more helpful than he was. Easy to pass if you find the strength to get through the assignments. Would not recommend him as a professor, avoid if possible. Mandatory in attendance, youll miss alot in one day.
Nothing was that difficult in the class. The online material is very helpful in it's ability to give you all the tools necessary to succeed on tests. Participate and you will have a good grade.
Stupid pop quizzes suck. They are easy but you don't know when he will give them. they usually come every two weeks though. His lectures are super long and boring. I fell asleep sometimes. He does use the book and the learning curves are so easy.
I really liked him - looked forward to this class (it was at 930am)
If you are hoping for a fun and engaging psych class than find another professor. He is dry, robotic, not conversational, but an easy grader. If you do the reading and memorize the information you can survive to pop quizzes and exams. He gives major extra credit with his point system so there is relief if you screw off. Easy credits done!
Dean comes off a little serious, but he isn't too bad once you get into a discussion about the lecture material. He is awesome and straightforward! Homework was a breeze (online) and reading wasn't long and very simple! All MC exams (4 of them). I never missed a lecture and I enjoyed every one of them. The pop quizzes were super easy!
Homework is modules only, he does offer extra credit but isn't worth much. All that is needed to pass is an 85%. Pay attention, take notes and do the homework and you should get an A.
Dean was a good professor for the most part. Some of his lectures were long and seemed pointless, such as learning styles. He talks a lot about things that don't make sense and are irrelevant. There's about 8-9 pop quizzes, if you know the material you should be fine. Homework is these learning curves that you can google the answers to.
Don't take him! His lectures are confusing and unrelated to the topic he is lecturing on. He also doesn't post ANY grades expect your pop quizzes. The learning curves (homework) are hard- he never posts when they are due. On the other hand, his tests make 0 sense. They don't correlate with the lectures or the book. Worst teacher I've had so far.
8-9 pop quizzes and 4 Exams through out the semester but NO FINAL. No hw but he does give you the option to do learning curves which count towards extra credit at the end of the semester. He is mono tone and lectures are really long and pointless although you must pay attention as some things are on the tests. Not clear on instruction.
Dean's lectures were really hard to get into. And once receiving the first test I did not see how his lectures correlated with the questions asked on the test. I felt like he mentioned it but it just was so not clear to me. Wouldn't recommend this professor.
You must read the book. Pop quizzes frequently. Not an easy A.. probably very few get it. Grade will sink like a rock until the very end then if you're lucky you'll rise back up once he removes I think it was 2 lowest quiz scores. I never knew what the Prof was asking of his students. I'm an A student.. I got a low B. Don't bother asking for help.
I do not recommend this teacher! Lectures are very boring. I feel like I didn't learn anything from his class. I ended up getting an A in the class but the entire time I thought I had a C because he never put in the grades! Our class was small and he made me feel awkward and uncomfortable.
He really enjoys what he teaches, but most things he lectures on was not relevant to what is on the test. To pass, you will need to study your online textbook to get the necessary information. For the tests I was confused about what will be on it, as some parts that I studied really hard for were not there. Also, there are many pop quizzes.
Lots of online homework through a program you have to pay for. The tests are based off the information you learn online, although he tells you that's not true. Long boring lectures. Final grade is based on a kind of curve, so if you end up with a 75% you get a B which was the only thing I liked about the class.
Boring lectures. Doesnt put grades in. What he talks about isnt on the tests you have to learn for yourself by doing the modules
I would not recommend choosing this professor. Make sure to do things on your own in this class because he does not explain well. His lectures do not help, you are better off reading on your own. Make sure to do the online homework, and good luck on the exams. Oh, and there's pop quizzes.
I would like it if he were more engaged with the students, created groups, encouraged students to sit and listen, they are continuously going in and out the class all through the short lecture, which distracts all, he slacks on getting grades posted, not an approachable guy, love his material on learning styles though. He could use more drive.
This class was literally the absolute worst psych class ive taken. He spent more time telling us how hard this class was and teaching us HOW to study than he did teaching psychology. Lots of reading and online modules, which take forever to do. Worth 2 pt each and arent put in until deadlines .. SO YOU DONT KNOW YOUR GRADE. HARD AS HECK. DONT DO IT
In this class, you have modules that usually take an hour each to complete. The modules are completed online and aren't the same material he lectures about. You have a lot of homework and need to do a lot of studying to pass.
Really strict teacher. If you even look at your phone he will call you out. The grading is weird thought because I received a 65% but that counts as a C in his class. I never really knew my grade which was irritating. The tests were REALLY hard. DON'T MISS A CLASS.
This class was super easy and the professor was pretty straightforward. The hw was through a separate program that asks you questions based on the reading. It isnt timed and doesnt take long to do, just make sure to keep track of due dates. There are about 8 pop quizzes and 3 tests done through scantrons and no essays. Very simple and easy.
If you dont read everything in your book and study more than a lot you wont learn anything really and will not be prepared for test
Would not recommend taking any class with this professor. His lectures do not help you with the exams whatsoever, will call you out in class for using your phone or just talking in general. Do not take this class if you are not ready to read the text book cover to back. Good luck.
His class is so boring it put me to sleep EVERY time!! His lectures dont help you at all in class, he doesnt give you a grade till the end so you never know what your actual grade is. He doesnt talk to you he never introduced his name on the first day. Just save yourself some time but if not take his class at your own risk
Excellent teacher, I was bumped that he wasn't teaching another course next semester that would have fit with one of my other general education courses as I would have taken him again.
Dean is not a terrific teacher. He is technologically challenged, so he hardly if ever uses canvas. Rarely tells you when assignments are due and waits until last minute to post them as active on the launchpad program. His lectures are more boring than most other professors. And sometimes it seems as if he is almost talking down to you. Overall bad
This wasnt on the study guide.-students every test. His class puts you to sleep; unbelievably dull.
The class lacked student engagement. His lectures are so boring they will put you to sleep. As long as you read the book and show up to class you should be fine. He does not tell you when launchpad is due and the due dates are very confusing so make sure to stay on top of the due dates and if you can even do them early. His grading is confusing
This was the first class I have ever taken at college and it was an amazing experience. I have pretty agressive ADHD and find it takes everything in me to make it through class without being completely distracted by my own thoughts, but not this class.. This professor changed my whole mentality towards college and learning, thank you professor!
Terrible teacher. I have taken several psychology classes before and this one made me feel as if I did not even know psychology. ALL he does is teach about "how to learn" rather than teaching the class about psychology. He relies on you to teach yourself from launchpad. His tests barely match the homework. AVOID TAKING HIS CLASS!
I found the lectures to drag on and be fairly boring. I did poorly in this class and have already taken it while in highschool (AP). The professor will ask questions and try to have people engage, yet isn't very incouraging and embarsses you if it isn't the exact response he's looking for. I have always loved psych and but this is discouraging.
I have previously taken two psychology classes in high school (In which I had gotten A's), and can confidently say this particular teacher is the issue. Very poor teaching, monotone voice, aged lectures, not engaging, does not stimulate student engagement, and over all one of the worst teachers I have had in a while. Would not recommend. :/
If you are looking to actually learn something about psychology, please choose a different professor, preferably one who enjoys this subject and doesn't want to see their students fail. Studying will not help you as I have no idea where he is getting his exam material from. I received an F on my last exam. Impossible to pass. Don't take this class.
I did just dandy in AP psychology in high school, was confident to start in his class, and I started to fail immensely. He pulls exam questions out of thin air, very inflexible office hours, and doesn't even tell us what will be tested on. The powerpoints are extremely outdated and not detailed what so ever. Save some dignity and don't take it.
His lectures were good (mono toned). Multiple-choice exams are insanely difficult arbitrary and extremely specific. Does not offer any form of study guide or advice. Very unapproachable and does not respond to emails. His teaching style is quite cold and abrasive. I am really sad as a psych major I had him for intro to psychology.
The class will seem easy at first, he seems like a great teacher but he isn't. He would lecture and tell us to study answers we got wrong on the tests and quizzes, only he wouldn't give out the questions you got wrong, he expects you to figure it out. His lectures are very boring and mono-tone. Hid slides are out of date.
Dean is the worst professor Ive ever had. His lectures drag on and are EXTREMELY boring. His test questions are ridiculously hard and he has a pop quiz almost everyday. Dean Yoshizumi ruined psychology for me and actually lead me to change my major. If you want to succeed, find a different professor.
Great personalty but average teacher. His lectures are kinda strange as he may spend about an hour in class lecturing stuff thats not from the book. So it can throw you off guard of what to study. I still passed, but not comfortably. I needed every last point. His online HW is kinda funky but its not bad. 8 "POP" QUIZZES 4 TESTS No essays
Half way through the semester and the teacher hasn't given me a grade. I am currently sitting at a 0% and he hasn't fixed it. All my assignments are graded it just won't update on Canvas and I would realistically have a 85% but he refuses to give me a grade even with emails. The only things he supposedly grades are the exams though which I got 80%
Assigns bi weekly assignments which don't even help students because they barley relate to the textbook at all. In online class a textbook is mandatory even though his assignments don't even utilize the textbook. So unless you study the book 24/7 you won't pass as his assignments don't help. Takes forever grading also, 6 weeks to grade 3 sentences.
Idk why so many people gave him bad reviews! This was my 1st college psych class and I absolutely loved it. Hes hilarious and so knowledgeable about psychology. He has a really fun way of putting difficult concepts into everyday applications so that every student understands. Hes also so understanding regarding DSPS. Really cool and smart prof!
Its a lot of work but I did learn a lot in this class and it was worth it. She is not very approachable and is very strict on his emails as well as being very strict and formatting and grading. I would recommend this teacher if you are independent and know what youre doing but if youre new to this I would not recommend him.
He is a nice guy, but extremely unorganized. It was evident he just didn't care about the students at all. Never gave us notice when an assignment was due. Never knew when an exam was scheduled until last minute. Some weeks we had to read 6 chapters, others weeks we had nothing. Confusing and stressful. I am a planner and this did not work for me.
He isn't all bad, just talks alotttt and have pop-quizzes outta nowhere. the lecture is alot of talking and slide shows. he doesn't post slide shows and quizzes and tests are like about two weeks apart. lecture and reading is based on threee different chapters with a lot of pages.
Professor Yoshizumi does not post lectures online and does not provide many resources virtually if you take his in-person class which makes it very difficult to study at home, every other professor I have had posts everything online. His lectures don't cover most of the material on the exams and he doesn't prepare the class very well for the exam.
He's passionate about psychology which helped inspire me; however, NEVER MISS CLASS! Pop quizzes CAN'T be made up. Despite a harsh attendance policy, he is a great professor when giving lectures. I appreciated that he taught a couple of lectures at the beginning of the semester about memory and learning in order to give helpful success tips to us.
Good professor however not extremely flexible. HAVE to go to class or you'll miss important notes and pop quizzes. You cannot make up quizzes and he won't post lectures. The textbook is amazing though and if you keep up on the readings/show up to class you're good. Will let you make up exams as long as you reach out. If you are sick email him.
lectures arent posted online and moves very past through slides. lots of pop quizzes and homework that has little to do with tests. gives extra questions on tests and tests on a curve
professor expected students to attend zoom meetings, although only 3 or 4 students attended Zoom lectures want were never posted. Test are hard. Disorganized. Some weeks he had 1 read 1 chapter other times 6 chapters. Not recommended. His grading is obscure. Some assignments are worth 1 point while others are 2 points. Test are 40 to 50 points.
Disorganized, does not post lectures, has "voluntary zoom meetings." test are hard. All semester was about "learning." If you are a person that can learn with out instruction and clear instructions this class is for you. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Mr. Yoshizumi is an enthusiastic professor. I legitimately looked forward to his lectures every day as they were engaging and interesting. With that said ATTENDANCE is necessary. He will not let you retake quizzes and most are POP QUIZZES. Completed 100% of homework, reading, and participation yet BARELY got an A. Yoshi, give your students a break.
He is extremely belittling to his students. His lecture points are unclear, he is disorganized and all over the place and if you try to ask questions or attempt to understand what he is saying, he'll treat you poorly for it. DONT MISS CLASS. He will not help you succeed in his class at all. He will talk down to you and enjoys seeing students fail.
Boring lectures, i thought i was into psych but figured i wasnt enough because i couldnt handle being in the class without falling asleep, but he is kinda funny so he gets points for that.
Honestly, the vibes I get from this professor is that he wants to see his students not do well on his exams. I feel like he gets a confident boost from that so it can prove to himself that his class is hard. Pop Quizzes are also a big thing in his class. If you need psychology for your GE credit, and want an A, choose a different professor.
So many pop quizzes and never has time to answer questions before or after class. I feel like he was also quite unprofessional and treats students like highschoolers. I was texting family about something urgent when the lecture started for no longer than 3 min and he asked me in front of everyone if I was going to be on my phone the whole lecture.
I enjoyed his class tbh. The topics were very interesting to me. That said the class is lecture heavy, most of your grades will come from tests & quizzes. If you paid attention, did the reading, and the learning curb modules then you'll be fine. He tends to treat his students like adults and doesn't baby them, you either do the work or you don't.
The class can be challenging, but the professor's knowledgeable and engaging teaching makes it worthwhile. Attend lectures, do the readings, and use resources like unstuckstudy AI to excel. Overall, a solid psychology course.
He is terrible!! he is very rude, always ignores me. His exams are hard, he makes sure to always put like 4 or 5 impossible questions on it. I hate doing class with him, i wish i knew what I was going in for, not worth it. Dont do class with him, he will treat you like nothing.
Super great teacher. The lectures were super interesting every class and all you needed for the test. I never read the textbook, all I did was pay attention in class and I got an A on all the exams.
He is very hard to contact and does not allow retakes. Your grade is built of very few assignments that tend to be either extremely easy or ridiculously hard.
I'm not sure why he is rated so low. Homework was very easy and tests were legit just things he talked about and the homework which ends up giving you right answers. Easiest A I ever got and I have a learning disability. Maybe spent 5 hours a week doing stuff for the class which includes being there.
Don't listen to these negative comments saying he's a bad professor who wants to see his students fail. Dean is the type of guy that is so smart you think he's stupid. Just read the text book and complete the online study guides and you should pass easy. Also, attend class because he gives pop quizzes.
I can not say how awful he is. His tests are not based on the lecture and book information. He does not share his blue powerpoint slides with us. He does not accept late assignments even if you are sick! If you try to communicate with him, he will response late. I recommend everyone not to take any psychology classes with him.
Be aware of him. He doesn't care about your opinion or the example you provide. His "blue" presentations are boring, which he doesn't even share. Be ready for tests and quizzes that don't match the lectures he gave and be prepared for a delayed response. If you want to get a good grade, it's better to choose another professor.
Don't get me wrong, he is a nice person who definitely wants his students to learn, but there are a lot of times when it doesn't feel like it. He doesn't post his slides at all because he wants his students to attend class, then flies through every slide like there's a time limit. You never receive any feedback, just a score. Good luck.
I don't have enough words for this, as I'm limited to 350 characters, so I'll keep it brief. If you want to take a class where you will be 100% responsible for teaching yourself all the work and want to have the worst possible introduction to college, then you should take this class. Getting my AA in criminal law, and never struggled so hard ever.
so test heavy. homework is worth 2 points, and the test is worth 50. If u flunk a test, don't even try; honestly, just withdraw. There's no opportunity to make it up. expect you to know psychology before you come in, and if you don't, then good luck because the slides are so hard to understand.
I have never had to work this hard for a b- in my entire college career. guys don't to listen to the 5 star reviews. The only thing you can do is give it to God because its takes a supernatural force to pass this class.
doesn't post his "blue slides" so don't skip class. some questions on exams are impossible or barely talked about in class. do all the learning curves on time and do well on the pop quizzes bc it will help ur grade a little if you do bad on the exams. no study guides, never goes over the exams or quizzes-just a score. good luck.
Really good and thorough lectures and the only assignments were tests, quizzes, and readings. We didn't even have to write any papers. Pretty interesting class and he knows his stuff so the lectures are great. I don't know why he has such bad reviews because he was by far my best professor this semester.
Had a fun experience with Professor Yoshizumi. He's tough, but he's incredibly fair when it comes to his course material. You have to understand the lecture points and absorb what he tries to communicate to you in regards to class material. Although I didn't get the grade I was hoping for, I'd gladly take another course with him.
Literally the worst prof his class is extremely hard to pass. He doesn't post his slides either and there not super detailed. Hw is only worth 2 points and exams are pretty confusing and don't really match what was explained in class or what was in the learning curves. Don't take his class unless you want to waste your time.
I've never in my whole life thought I would meet a teacher who is so entitled. Even feedback given to this “professor” is taken as if you insulted his entire bloodline. Two out of three people who sat in the middle and back left of the class cheat on everything. 10/10 worst person OAT.
Lectures almost through the whole class with minimal interaction. Very boring. Must read chapters and take notes because tests contain both things from the book and his lectures. Questions are worded in a confusing way. Does random pop quizzes. DO NOT MISS CLASS!! He doesn't post his slides so if you miss class you're doomed. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
