Deb is a great prof! Exactly how other professors should be. Best part about his lectures are that he uses NO POWERPOINTS, WOOHOO! I HATE powerpoints so much. Deb does purely notes on the board, which I LIKE! His exams are straight out of his notes. He is so nice, the final exam wasn't cumulative! It covered only stuff after midterm 2! TAKE HIM!

This class is way too easy to be Micro II, kind of a joke. The prof never turns from the board for tho whole three hours then bolts as soon as class if over.

Ok, yes I agree with the previous comment. Get ready to write 3 hours non stop of notes. 7+ meaning 15 pages. However, he is a very easy marker and his midterms are right out of the review questions he gives you.

Professor Sen is the best prof you will ever have for economics. He gives you the best midterm and exam reviews and they tend to be similar to the actual midterm and exam. He explains the materials thoroughly and if you need any clarification just go to him, he is a very nice prof. I recommend him for ECN104. JUST AMAZING!!!

what can I say that hasn't been already said in the comments? As everyone says he is the BEST ecn104 prof you can take. For this prof there are two 30% midterms and a 40% final. These will be the easiest test you will ever take in university, ONLY if you attend all of his classes and take GOOD notes. Listening in class is key. DONT BUY THE TEXTBOOK

EASIEST ECN PROF. he gives you reviews before the midterms and the final which are almost identical just the numbers are switched and the final was only 2 chapters.

Best economics prof ever!! I've never taken economics before & Prof. Sen explained everything so well with a TON of examples! He writes everything out on the whiteboard kinda high schoolish but you don't even have to listen to him because everything he SAY he WRITES. Sit at the front & stay for the ENTIRE class, he may give hints! He is so awesome!

Best ECN Prof. No textbook, two midterms and one final, no online homework, gives reviews before each test. You have to take notes for three hours straight but the A+ is worth it.

Extremely easy prof, definitely recommend! Two midterms (30% each) one final (40%). A lot of note taking. Gives out practice exams before midterm and final that are the exact same. If you are not majoring in econ then he is recommended.

Best ECN Prof. You don't need the textbook for this class and he gives two midterms and a final and gives a mock exam which is pretty much the same as the actual exams. No online homework just write down the notes he puts on the whiteboard.

Great prof. I never understood why everyone hated on him, the course was super easy. Attendance is not mandatory, and he explains everything very clearly. As long as you attend class, and do the review that he puts on blackboard before the mid-terms and stuff then its a free 90!!

You must come to class. He gives his notes each lecture and does not even follow the textbook, so you do not need it. As long as you listen and take notes done it is a guarantee that you will receive a minimum B avg.

As a 4th year economics student I can honestly say this prof makes a pretty sucky subject interesting and relevant. You do not need the book, its all hand written lecture notes, thus the lectures are long. Yeah he has an accent and does not make much eye contact but other than that hes's a top notch professor. Not an easy A but its obtainable.

Debapriya Sen is an awesome prof. For ECN503 he posted all of his slides online. If you read the slides and understood the concepts and content, you will pass the course for sure. I studied maybe 3-4 hours for the midterms and final and still did very well. You do not need a textbook for this course. Know the slides and you will be fine!

Excellent professor! Not only is he a great teacher, but he actually cares about the students. To him, students aren't just numbers. He explains the learning material really throughly, and has very neat writing for those that are visual learners.

Debapriya was a good prof. It may seem unorganized at times, but the examples in class and the practice questions are what are on the tests. The paper was not that challenging either. You need to go to class because the graphs and explanations are on the board. He took his time in exposing concepts.

The first midterm was an easy A- A+, but the second one was a lot tougher. The final was not that bad and the paper was straightforward. Practice the math and read the slides and graphs.

His lectures are long but he explains the material well and tells you exactly how to solve problems. The material itself revolves around introducing new economic models every week. Make sure you do all homework questions he gives, the exams are fairly similar to these questions. Overall, an easy prof.

DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK!! The prof writes his own notes and expects everyone to copy them. Lectures are quite long, but he provides countless examples to ensure everyone understands it. As long as you do his review questions you're bound to do well.

Never took Econ in high school but this course made it fairly easy to learn. Go to the lectures and copy down all his notes so that you can go over them after. Do all the practice questions he posts on D2L as these will be EXACTLY what is on his midterms and final. All exams will be multiple choice and straight forward. Don't buy the textbook.

Lectures are not mandatory u need to go because he won't upload the notes until a couple days before the tests and he doesn't go by the textbook at all. He repeats a lot in his lectures which others find boring, but it was so helpful bc it reaffirms the topic. Sit near the front of the lectures to truly understand. Very straight forward. TAKE HIM.

this class was pretty tough, but he made it easy to understand. He wants his students to do well and is always available to help. His practice questions are very helpful, as long as you do them youll be more than prepared for the exams.

Professor Sen is your typical professor. His exams are exactly like the questions he goes over in class, literally the exact same with just different numbers. He goes through the whole 3 hours. No textbook needed, just literally do the practice questions, understand the core concepts for MC and you will do great.

Simplist prof you could ask for. Show up, make notes, study those notes and apply them to the multiple choice exams where the questions are almost identical format to those in class. Very straightforward and you save a lot of money by not requiring any textbook, online modules or specific calculator.

The course isn't hard. Just take notes in class, and you'll be fine.

Not the most charismatic prof - still good. Attend lectures because all test material is taken from in-class notes. He provides PowerPoint slides, graphs, and practice questions, but you might not understand them without his explanations. His class was probably the easiest thing I've done during my time at Ryerson. The entire course grade is based off of 2 midterms and a final, thats it. All his exams are multiple choice and questions are repetitive from the review. Try to attend class as he explains his notes more in depth as he posts different notes online.

He can be a little confusing and repetitive at times but i promise his class is an easy A. He writes on a piece of paper to teach and then uploads a typed out version of that. Just study those and you'll ace the exam. You don't need the textbook or to even show up to class. Just show up for the 2 midterms and finals and you're guaranteed an A

The exams are straight forward as long as you read the notes taken in class and do the easy practice questions that are online. lectures are super rushed and boring at times but the easy exams make up for that. he doesn't use the textbook

Just a midterm and final. The final was more difficult, but still easy. The only problem is that there was one question on the final that really wasn't explained in the lecture notes. Other than that the midterm and final are all based on documents he provided that have examples, just numbers are changed. Easy A+ or A.

The content is very accessible and the course doesn't require a lot of readings. Very responsible prof who marks easy and fast. Explains himself clear. He is a bit of a control freak who likes to see a specific format, so write your papers according to his instructions

The test questions were super easy provided you watched the lectures and did the homework. Nothing complicated, and very straightforward. His virtual materials weren't the best but still perfectly understandable.

Professor Sen's exams/finals are super straightforward and the grading is incredibly clear. His lecture material could definitely be better but its perfectly understandable. Its an easy class with him, especially compared to some of the other ECN professors. If you're looking at your options, TAKE HIM!

Prof is great. You don't even need to really pay attention to the videos he posts. Both the exam and midterm are open book assignments and can be found how to do easily through his notes step by step.

the exams were assignments worth 45% and 55% which made up the entire course. I liked it because the exams were pretty doable. Also, I barely felt pressure from that course throughout the semester until it was exam time so it was almost like I was taking 4 courses. I recommend taking his class if you work well independently.

It's an easy A course if you took CECN 700 or ECN 700 previously since a few lectures are a repeat of the oligopoly lectures in ECN 700. 3 assignments only. The questions on the assignments are heavily related to the practice questions of each lecture (hence the need of not using a textbook). Show and explain all your steps to get a high mark.

You just need to follow his examples in class and you will be good for the midterm and exams. Just 2 tests(one midterm and one final) and gave a lot of time to do it.

Attend the lectures and try not to fall behind. He nails down concepts by using repetition and it's very useful. Some people find it repetitive but his way of teaching is by far the best. Debapriya Sen is an amazing professor. Take him if you have the chance.

Lectures go in detail with many types of examples there are plenty of examples to practice tests are very fair they are similar to questions on the practice and you get a good amount of time around 2-3 days to do.if you keep up with your work there is no reason to do bad/

Coming from a science student, I did not attend a single lecture. Day of the online AND take home midterm I read the PDFs and watched the lectures on 2x speed. Did the same for the final. 4.33. I would give this man my best friend's first born child. I did learn the whole course though and feel very good with all the content. Mashallah.

The midterms (45%) nd final (55%) exams were in assignment format, nd you would get 1-3 days to submit it to his email. He is pretty chill, the finals and midterm questions were easy, just read the notes, took his class online, would definitely take him again, accent maybe difficult to understand

Amazing teacher. His lectures corresponds to his midterms and exams. I will say midterms are worth 40% and exams are worth 70%. It wasn't bad. He is a tough grader tho and expects you to know what the question means without it asking you to show your work. (draw a graph even though it didn't ask you to draw one)

Decent prof, he posts the lecture videos in the D2L. His explanations are decent, sufficient for the course. His midterm is literally an assignment of 2 questions, ensure you answer the questions in detail and clearly. Exam would be definitely a piece of cake if you watch all the lecture videos and understand the contents. Not a tough grader!

Only graded by 2 exams was a little crazy but good prof.

I was worried at first, because he was teaching from halfway across the world with a whiteboard. However, he prepares you so well for the midterm and final, and gives you lots of time for them, so it put him in goat status for me, but the lectures themselves were pretty rough. take him if you want a good grade though.

His video lectures are pretty difficult to understand but the concepts are easy to learn by yourself. Easy grader which is nice. better to learn concepts through posted assignments.

Chill course with assignments for exams and 1 essay. Professor gives very clear guidelines for the essay and the midterm was exactly like the example problems he posted. The final was more challenging but we were given a full week to complete it. He is also very fair and gives extra marks.

Everyone who says the final was tough is nuts. All you had to do was the practice exam and the final was easy.
