TAKE NUT 10 ONLINE!!!
It's not true that this class is easy. It has extra credits, but they weight too low. The tests are hard, if you do not pay 100% attention to this class.
The online NUT10V course was very easy. There was a lot to read sometimes, but you only read 1 chapter or 2 short chapters each week, accompanied by their respective chapter quizzes. The midterms and finals have very similar (if not exactly the same) questions as the quizzes, with some additional questions involving calculations.
I took Online Nut10 as a way to get some more units, but honestly this class was way more work than my actual classes, also the tests that you take are low key an invasion to privacy, someone is watching you through the camera when you take tests and you have to show them your surroundings. Unless you really need this class dont take it!
I love her enthusiasm for the subject. I took the in class nut 10 and honestly I wish I took it online, I feel like its easier cause u can speed through the lectures. The class was not an easy A, u actually have to try and memorize all the details. Read the book, get started early on the diet project, and take advantage of her extra credit!
EASY A. Just do the work and review the study guide and you should get an A no problem. There are people saying that it is a lot of work for an online class but just understand that it is the same amount of work as a regular class just that you are on your own so don't be lazy. The workload isn't even that bad. Plenty of extra credit so do them.
This class is easy as long as you keep up with the textbook readings and understand the study questions and quizzes. Diet Project can be a pain, but double and triple check your calculations and you should do fine. Dr. Fetter gave out so much extra credit that if you did them all it pushed you up by a full letter grade. Take her if you can!
This class is pretty easy but heavy in lecture. The homeworks and quizzes are easy. She offers tons of extra credit which helped my grade to boost up during the finals. Study and work hard and its an easy A.
Dr. Fetter is an amazing professor! I took this class in the Summer Ses 2. If you take this class during summer, it will definitely be faster than if you were to take it during a normal quarter. Lectures were sort of heavy, but that reason being is she wants you to understand nutrition. I had the book as a reference and it came in handy.
Awesome professor! SUPER responsible and hardworking, also keeps it simple but at the same time make you learn more than you think you can. Genuinely awesome professor and her students respect her very much.
the easiest class ull ever take! she makes class super interesting and also uses cartoon drawings of blood etc to help understand concepts. TONS of extra credit (like a LOT). the class is genuinely interesting, and dr fetter is super duper approachable! easy A, 10/10 recommend
You can really tell that Dr. Fetter has a passion for nutrition. This class has really helped me improve my choices with my own diet and lifestyle. Dr. Fetter's lectures can be seem quite long and SLIGHTLY unorganized, but they're insightful. She usually tells you what's important for exams. Listen to the chalk talks!
Super Easy A. TONS of extra credit. Very lecture heavy - it gets a bit boring. Dr. Fetter herself really isn't anything special. Her style and tone is a bit dull and when she attempts passion or humor she doesn't seem genuine. It's all a bit rehearsed. This is what brings her score down in my opinion. Easy class. Meh professor.
Prof. Fetter was excellent. Her lectures were informative and sometimes a bit boring, but very applicable to your regular routine, diet, exercise, etc. She makes it a very easy class to pass and do well in. She offers so much extra credit and review sessions before exams which were so helpful. Exams are NON CUMULATIVE! She's so sweet and caring.
Professor Fetter is easy to understand and will give feedback to questions that are asked during lectures. The class is an easy A as long as you put effort into it and there's enough extra credit to bump up your grade by 5% by the end of the quarter. It was a very informative class that can help you for the present as well as your future health.
This is a super straightforward class - you'll do well if you do all the assignments and go to lecture (or podcast?). You don't need the textbook because pretty much everything is covered in lecture, but I did find it helpful regardless. It's an interesting class if you're interested in the content. Debbie is a standard lecturer but v nice! Easy GE
DrFetter is by far one the best professors there is. She does review sessions before every midterm;final that has everything that is going to be on the test, the best thing about it is the chalk talk, which basically gives you all the answers for the free response. There's lots of easy ways to get extra credit as well. Highly recommend this class.
There are a ton of extra credit opportunities. Her lectures are dense and it is difficult to tell what information is important. There is a fair amount of outside work, like quizzes. The material is useful to know, but there is so much to memorize. If you're looking for an easy science GE, maybe take a geology class instead.
Dr. Fetter is a great professor, you can really tell that she cares about her students. The class is incredibly easy, I studied for each test for a few hours beforehand and ended with over 100% thanks to all the extra credit she offered.
Fetter is a sweet professor who has a lot of passion for nutrition and health. She taught the class with Applegate and she did a wonderful job at explaining calculations for the midterms. She offers a TON of extra credit, which can boost you up a WHOLE letter grade. The class was structured well, and I definitely recommend it to ANYONE.
She's such a sweet professor, she cares about her students and gives so much extra credit! It's an easy class as long as you attend the review sessions, go to lecture, and study for the midterms. The 2nd midterm was the most difficult, but it wasn't too hard to get an A. She lays out the content that's going to be on the exam
Dr. Fetter is the most enthusiastic lecturer you will ever have. Her passion for nutrition is evident in her lectures, and she makes class interesting and relatable. She tells you exactly what you need to know for the exams (each worth 25% and non-cumulative) and gives practice free response questions and solutions. Fun and easy class overall.
Took Nut10V. Wouldn't recommend this class. For an online class, its too complex and all over the place. Lectures are broken into 7-8 videos instead of being all in one video, and there's no partial credit for multi-step questions asked during the video. This class isn't that hard and it's interesting, just too much work for an online intro course
The reputation of this class is quickly declining. The course design is clunky, confusing, and a little out-dated. Fetter guides the class through Applegate's videos, but I skip all her stuff because I find her a bit cringy. Useful info, but not worth navigating the confusing activities on the site.
Honestly, this class was more difficult than I expected. This class is an easy A, but you actually have to work for it. My only complaint is that there are so many lecture videos which takes up a lot of you time. The videos in this class were even longer than my 4/5 unit classes.
One of my favorite classes here at Davis. The lectures are pre-recorded every week and there is a small quiz due at the end of every week to make sure you are on track (they are very easy!). 2 midterms that cover exactly what is in the review session and a Final. Dr. Fetter and the TA's are very accessible outside of class.
Dr. Fetter is my favorite professor at Davis. She is so passionate about teaching and loves to interact with the students -- she loves students that participate! She says it herself, her goal of taking the class if for you to leave living a healthier and happier life. NUT10 was my favorite class and helped me declare a major in nutrition!
Fetter is more like a TA instead of a professor. She teaches the class with Applegate, but most lectures include Applegate. Fetter mostly gives tutorials which I skip. She also tries too hard with social media and talks to students like children/high school students. So much extra credit and social media its embarrassing. Cringe. Skip this class.
Very easy to access Professor Fetter, very caring towards the students, although there is a large group, she does respond to emails quickly. Fairly easy class.
Get an early start on the Food Dietary Project don't wait too long since its a huge part of your grade. I took the course online (NUT10V) watch all the videos don't skip and go to review sessions to prepare yourself for the midterms and final. For homework, you have 1-2 quizzes every week which is usually based on lecture. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK !
NUT 10 is an easy A if you work for it. There are a lot of simple calculations that will be needed, but nothing difficult. In my opinion, the lectures were very boring and ended up leaving lecture about 30 minutes before class ended and still managed to get an A. She reuses midterms so find a midterm and study it!
one word to describe: EASY
Super easy class with a crazy amount of extra credit. Debbie Fetter is nothing special. I have a difficult time listening to her voice. She doesn't seem very genuine. I much prefer Liz Applegate. Not sure why Fetter is listed as a professor when Applegate gives 99% of the lectures? Weird. Easy class. Too easy for UCD. Overall would NOT recommend.
Online is so easy. Need to study a little bit of math stuff and memorizing equations and stuff about nutrition but its fun and important. Quite a bit of hw assignments, weekly tests, and 3 tests. All online so it was really easy, drops one, she gives tons of extra credit.
An organized course. TAs and professor are useful in terms of announcing weekly assignments. A lot of videos from Applegate, but attending the test reviews is honestly all you need to understand everything as the exams are open book. I didn't use the textbook. I did every extra credit opportunity and that brought me from 89% to 99%.
One of my easiest classes, just watch the lectures and you'll pass. Only hard part was memorizing a few equations. Could have used some trigger warnings b/c the class had some graphic pictures showing diseases and eating disorders, but otherwise it was fine. Canvas page was very organized and there's so much extra credit. TAs were very helpful too.
It's impossible to not pass this class with an A. The lectures are amazing and straight forward. There was a clear grading criteria to help you pass the class. Do all of the extra credit this class offers. I messed up my first midterm, but since I did all of the extra credit I ended up with an A! To do well on exams GO TO THE REVIEW SESSIONS!!
I LOVE NUT10! never really interacted with her but she seems so enthusiastic and really cares for this class and her students. Lectures are AMAZING, you learn so much. TA's for everything & very accessible. lots of EC opportunities. open note quizzes, 2 tries. VERYY easy A. watch lecturegood grade. I ended with 108%. self paced/ independent study.
Fun class to take with weekly quizzes that prep you for the 2 midterms. Very straight forward.
This class have lots of extra credits. The syllabus tells you all the things you need to know (ex. modules, exam, grading criteria). No practice exams before the exam but the review session are helpful. Easy GE.
Took Dr. Fetter online and she is a real gem! Curriculum is based off lecture videos assigned every week, followed with short quizzes. Book not needed as the videos cover everything. The amount of videos can be overwhelming though, so it's best to stay ahead. She also assigns one big project, and 2 exams which are exactly what's reviewed.
i would skip honestly. the amount of work she assigned is more than an upper div class. would not recommend/take her again
Professor Fetter is amazing and super nice. Weekly exams that were pretty easy and straight forward. Midterm and Final were straight forward. Tons of extra credit opportunity, would be surprised if someone did not get an A in this class.
Since this is an online class, the lecture videos, textbooks, and some lectures/office hours she held were very helpful. She was very kind, respectful, and explained things clearly. The class were organized. Even the TAs were sweet. There is a ton of extra credit, and I learned a lot of essential information about health that will help me for life.
I regret taking her class! Don't be fooled by those "good" reviews! Way too much work for a 3 credit class! I rather take a seminar or Chi studies class (which has way lesser work) DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! YOU WILL REGRET!!! 3 hours exam with an insane amount of questions! No, the answer cannot be found online. You have to put in a lot of effort!
Exam: 3 hours for 50 questions. including 5-6 calculation question, each had 6-8 sub questions, had around 80 questions in total. I took the class because it had 1200 seats, so I thought it must be a good class. BUT I WAS WRONG! NOT an easy A class! Only 1% extra credit which is nothing considering the difficulty of the exam !AVOID AT ALL COST!
If you go through all the weekly recorded lectures and take good notes you'll do better than fine. The majority of exam answers, if not all, are found in the lectures. This is a college course, so don't whine when you're given a bit more work than you're used to in high school. :)
This is not a difficult class im not sure why some say that it is. There isn't much extra credit but welcome to college. The videos are straightforward with nothing unnecessary for quizzes/tests. The work is easy, just do it and its an easy A. The directions on the assignments hold your hand the whole way. Only 2 exams, all open note.
Easiest class of my life
Weekly quizzes, 2 exams, and a term project, no final, some extra credit. The quizzes and exams are all open book and the answers are the same as the playposit video questions. The term project is easy, the instructions walk you through it all. Professor and TA's are extremely responsive and helpful. Easy A if you do the work
The prof herself doesn't do much since there's playposits (opt to do but from previous quarters). There's a quiz for every chapter, food diary project, health goal project, and 2 exams. Loved that there was no final, tons of EC. Felt like more work than a 3 unit class. AT the end I stopped trying but just using review slides got me an A on exam 2!
You MUST take this class. It will help your GPA.
Cool class. Easy A. You watch tons of pre-recorded videos, do a project, and take tests. Nothing too crazy. To review the professor: Fetter seem nice, but most lectures are done by the famous Dr. Applegate. Applegate is what makes the class great. Fetter answers questions like a TA. She's OK, but really isn't needed because the class is so easy.
Easy A without much effort, but I didn't get a whole lot out of it. Dr. Fetter only actually does three lectures in the quarter, and the rest are from videos that are honestly skippable. The exams were extremely long and draining. I may have found the content more interesting if I was pre-health, but it's a fine class. Not remarkable, but fine.
Professor Fetter is really fun and sweet. You have to do one food diary project, 2 weekly quizzes and 2 exams. Sadly, she only lectures 3 times a quarter but you can still go to study hall or office hours if you want to talk to her. The rest of the NUT10V staff is great too! This class is a pretty easy A.
I enjoyed this class because the info applies easily to your own life. Dr. Fetter was nice, she had lots of office hours and she organized the class really well. As long as you have a solid set of notes in front of you for tests and quizzes, it's an easy A. Don't wait last minute to finish assignments, and always take advantage of the extra credit.
If you wish to have a GPA booster, please take her. She offers ample amount of extra credit.
She is more than willing to explain anything related to the course. Easy class. GPA booster.
Class Super easy A. Professor mediocre at best. Debbie only teaches a couple of lecture. She is more like a TA. She is fine. Nothing special. Most pre-recorded lectures include Liz Applegate. I enjoy her material. They could probably cut down on how many videos there are. It's easy but I prefer to pay for live or in-person classes.
This class is NOT an easy A at all! There are a lot of assignments. I spent hours and hours and hours studying for this class, watching the videos, doing the project, and studying for her exams. Don't take this class unless you really have to. Too time consuming. I regret it so much. possible to get an A, but requires too much studying and time.
When I say dirt easy I mean dirt easy. Easiest class of my life. If you get anything less than a 98% you should be ashamed of yourself. You don't even have to show up to any of the lectures (would recommend you do). The "tests" are extremely easy. Open note and the answers are basically in the notes. Please please take for an easy 3 units.
Dr. Fetter is so kind and the way she lectures is so energetic. She really enjoys what she does. Her class is easy if you at least put it minimal effort. There's no textbook but there are supplemental readings if you want to use them (I never did.) Overall, great professor. Highly recommend this class
Easiest class ever. You get out of it what you make of it. You dont even have to attend the lectures in person, but when you do they are very informational and genuinely interesting. The professor is understanding and compassionate. Take this class for easy credits!
Easy GE. You're graded on 3 "mini exams", which are all online and open note, the food diary project, and the health goal assignment (which has 2 parts). There's plenty of extra credit opportunities too. Dr. Fetter is knowledgable and enthusiastic about the subject, and some parts of the course are pretty interesting.
loved dr fetter. so thoughtful and nice. gave us CWs and lots of resources. class was really easy. three open note online exams, a few easy projects, no final. take lecture notes. she tells u exactly what u need to know for the exams. definitely watch or go to the review sessions bc they do calculations u will need to know. lots of extra credit.
Fetter makes it SO easy, that I learned NOTHING. Tons of extra credit. Review sessions give you all answers to OPEN BOOK exams. Dr. Fetter seems nice, but she seems too eager to please with how easy she makes the class. Dr. Applegate gives 97% of lectures. Fetter only gives a couple of lectures. Her TAs would be better at leading the class. :(
Embarrassingly easy. Easier than most of my HS classes. I never went to class and still got an A. If you want to actually learn something, take coffee making class or something more college-level. Dr. Fetter tries to be funny, but she comes off as another privileged professor trying to "relate" to students. Skip the class & prof. UCD: do better.
watching vid lectures all the time was super boring. the only difficult part of this class is just the calculations of some parts but its not rlly hard its just annoying lol. youll pass with an A for sure but dont think that its a breeze, dont take this class lightly but its not a super hard class either
Best Professor!!! It is not the professor's fault that you learnt nothing. I think the class is engaging and learnt a lot.
I loved this class. It was so easy, but I learned a lot. Exams and the food diary project were great. The health goal assignment was tricky, and the TAs gave me a C on the first part which was shocking. Take your time and go to office hours, because this assignment was graded harshly. Would recommend this class to anyone at UCD! An easy A.
SO MANY EXTRA CREDIT OPPURTUNITIES. Lectures can be fast, but overall pretty interesting. The projects are easy as long as you pay attention (2 big ones). Mini exams are open note and take home, offers a review session for all three exams. She posts the lectures on canvas after so missing class won't kill you. Interesting material. Would take again
LOVED Dr. Fetter's energy level. Her enthusiasm shows through her teaching and makes you motivated to attend class. Lectures are a bit fast-paced, but you can always watch lecture recordings. Exams are heavily notes-based, so pay attention in lectures. LOTS of extra credit-- bumped me up by nearly 3%. Super fun GE, highly recc to all UCD students.
since this was online, fetter wasn't the one teaching. we watched a lot of videos led by Dr. Applegate. the videos were really well formatted & easy to learn from. my only complaint is how many videos you have to watch. looking back, there was about 70 videos that range from 5-20 minutes each. grade consist of 5 quizzes & 2 projects.
Assignments are structured very well. 2 projects, and a 35 questions quiz every two weeks (open note). There were a lot of video lectures to watch each week. Isn't too hard if you take good notes. Would recommend!
Dr. Fetter is a great professor and clearly passionate about Nutrition. The grading was easy, 2 simple projects that took some time but if you followed directions you will do well, and 3 "mini-exams" that were take home and open note with plenty of time. Lectures were interesting, I learned a lot and recommend this class! Easy A.
Gives a lot extra credit. A very interesting GE course.
Very easy but also a fun class to take. Lectures are clear and recorded. Many extra credit chances. Review sessions before exams. Three midterms but no finals. If you don't get an A it's your problem.
Just watch recording and go to study session and you will be fine. A very chill class. Professor is very engaging and charming.
Dr. Fetter is okay but her Food Diary Assignment is very much not it. It is not a hard assignment but it is BAD for anyone who struggles with eating disorders because she has you record all your food, calories, and then write how you can decrease your fat intake and things like that. Attendance is sorta mandatory and there is extra credit offered.
The professor is a classic example of someone who gets paid to do pretty much nothing. She uses pre-recorded videos of another video and only really teachers three lectures. She doesn't grade and has her five TAs do the work. Not the best use of tuition. Canvas is so cluttered to make it seem like she is doing work.
Very kind professor and very informative. I don't know why people are complaining saying this class is "too" easy. Maybe because the professor is actually passionate about what she teaches and actually teaches what is going to be on the exam. No one knows what yall want anymore. Make it make sense. Anyways great class! --Two mini exams.
Dr. Fetter is a great professor. Lectures are fun and interesting and your grade is determined by 2 exams, small quizzes after each lecture, and a few projects. As long as you attend class and take good notes, the class is not only an easy A but the information is useful. Take her!
Attendance is only mandatory on days when there are in class activities, thing is you don't know when they are. There are only two tests a midterm and a non cumulative final (two midterms). Most of your grade is made of up the food diary project so make sure to do that. Lectures are informative but can be a bit long at 1 hour and 20 minutes.
This is a great class to take to fill units, boost GPA and fulfill interest in food. The professor is genuine, explains topics and content with clarity and all grading rubrics are concise and detailed. The class is mostly lecture heavy but the exams and projects are directly based on the content learned in class. Highly recommend.
Due dates for full credit and late credit were clearly outlined before every assignment, you could see lots of encouragement from Dr. Fetter every corner of the Canvas page. loved this class! highly recommend.
This class and Dr. Fetter were great. She was a very engaging lecturer and made the class very interesting. I would highly recommend this class as it was a great GE course and I learned a lot.
Super nice person and a super easy class. Can't complain
This was a super easy class and it was pretty interesting as well. All of our quizzes were open note and there were a lot of extra credit opportunities. Dr. Fetter is very caring and a great professor!
This class is known as the easy GE and Dr. Fetter does not make it harder than it has to be. You get to learn a lot of cool stuff about nutrition and she + her team are very easy to reach out too. Easiest A ever as long as you do all the work, which they remind you to do so at least twice before each due date.
Dr. Fetter is such a sweetheart! She loves remembering students names and is very knowledgeable about nutrition. You can tell that this is her true passion. She is also very classy and elegant.
Fetter is super passionate about nutrition and it really shows in the class. Lectures are long but she puts a lot of effort into them. The class itself is well laid out and pretty easy if you stay on top of things. There were a few annoying parts of the food diary project but nothing horrible. Took this for a GE but I learned a lot!
When I came to her about a family emergency, I was told that she wouldn't offer an extension on my project unless I went to the SJA and made an official statement about it, basically saying I had to prove my mom was dying in order to get one extra day. If there's any chance of you having a personal emergency, keep in mind, she is not forgiving.
Dr. Fetter is very sweet and energetic! It is obvious she is very passionate about nutrition, which makes lectures fun and engaging. Nice she offers MANY extra credit opportunities. 2 take home exams, open notes. 2 projects, each broken down into parts, makes it very easy to follow, and very clear rubrics for projects. Good way to boost your GPA!
Dr. Fetter is absolutely amazing; she cares about students, responds to emails within a day if not hours, and is flexible. To whoever said something in regards to the food diary project and an eating disorder, she clearly stated to email her if you were uncomfortable with the assignment and she provided numerous alternatives. I 10/10 recommend!!
Very nice, sweet and humorous. So glad I took this GE on my first quarter. Overall, easy class although some parts of the food diary project were a bit tedious. Would def take this class again though. No final, just two midterms which are both take home ;)
Dr. Fetter is clearly very passionate about the subject of nutrition and makes the content digestible. She was very enthusiastic. Attendance is not mandatory. but there were activities at the end of each lecture that had to be completed that day. Exams were taken online. The projects were not difficult either.
Highly recommend this class if you need some easy credits. Weekly lectures with quizzes (no tests, midterms, or final).
Great professor but the class was too easy and wasn't a college-level course. All of the exams were take-home, though this doesn't benefit students' learning. I wish she would have asked more of students. Nonetheless, she is organized, caring, and passionate.
Professor Fetter made NUT 010V great and straightforward. Graded on projects and quizzes with no tests, midterms, or final exam. Lots of extra credit opportunities where you can even win prizes. Interesting material and an easy 3 units!
Great professor and easy class.
Was very clear with expectations for assignments. Super informative and super easy class.
Attendance not mandatory, but if you do miss lectures make sure there were not any in class quizzes but you can always watch the recordings for the code. Easy class and was very interesting.
Dr. Fetter was awesome! She was always coming to lecture with lots of energy and was very accommodating. Even if you can't make it to class you can watch lectures. The material was easy to follow and very interesting. Highly recommend this class.
I started off taking her NUT010 class, but I thought her pace was too fast to take notes in class, and switched to NUT010V. Because the online class is self-paced, it was not as motivating to watch the videos. The way she designs her class is very educational, and the projects are fun if you fully engage.
Dr. Fetter's such a nice person. She gives plenty of extra credit opportunities and sends out reminders for nearly due assignments. Great teacher and person overall.
Lots of information for class but she makes it a really fun and easy class. Take good notes and you'll pass easily if you study them.
shes very good, and very understanding. good lecturer as well and the hw and exam isn't hard. pretty slay
Dr. Fetter was/is awesome! She cares about her students and even though our class was way over 300-400 students she tries to remember students names. The class is a great way to learn about nutrition, bit of a more laid back GE, and she has extra credit! Pretty good amount of class content but do the notes well and you'll do good on the open exams.
After having taken this class to learn about nutrition and health, I got an amazing aspiration to turn into Saitama aka one punch man. Basically it taught me to be more aware of my health and it was a fun class. Another free A that looks nice on the transcript
Dr. Fetter is a very kind person, she talks about assignments coming up in class and sends announcements about them on Canvas as well. She and the TAs created and frequently were available on the class discord. I thought assignments could be a bit much, but they weren't hard. If you do them you'll get an A and she offers a lot of extra credit!
Dr Fetter is super passionate about NUT 10. She is enthusiastic about the class, and it's not too difficult. Her exams are the hardest part of the course. While open-note and virtual, the tests can ask some tricky and specific questions. Answers can be difficult if you are not the best note-taker. She provides plenty of extra-credit opportunities.
Her exams aren't that bad she makes videos going over the calculation problems and there is a lot of extra credit offered after the exams all you have to do is assignments and the projects. definitely an easy GE to take with other classes.
Prof. Fetter is an amazing professor. Her Nut 10 Online class is very easy so if you are looking for an easy GE take Nut 10. There are 6 quizzes and she drops the lowest one. The 6th quiz is a cumulative quiz and there could be anywhere between 25-35 questions. There is a health goal assignment and a food diary project which are easy. Easy A
This class is an easy GE - highly recommend taking it! It was fun and I learned a lot. The class is very flexible. All the lectures are recorded, and you can watch them anytime. There were 6 quizzes total, and one was dropped. Dr. Fetter is very nice and sends many announcements reminding you that assignments are due.
This class is a very good class to take online as the material is manageable and the lectures are split up so that you aren't sitting through hours of videos unless you procrastinate on watching the lectures for that week. The class is graded based on 2 long term projects and some quizzes but they are very easy and grading is fair. 10/10 class
Took this for my major, but recommended as a GE too. Lectures easy to follow, and get recorded. Quick in-class activities for part of grade, due on same day of lecture: miss up to 3 of them. 2 long-term projects, but quite straightforward. 2 non-cumultative midterms, no final: open note and online (Canvas). Kind and approachable overall.
Professor Fetter is a kind person but she doesn't round grades I was .84% from a B- and she didn't want to round. Assignments are somewhat easy, don't do it if you struggle with a eating disorder/ don't have a proper eating schedule. It affects your grade!
Open note exams, plz take notes because she doesn't post the slides. Exams are pretty easy and fair. LOTS of extra credit, keep an eye out on canvas for opportunities (got back 20 points or so). Projects are easy too, just keep up with deadlines/hints given in lecture to get full points. Overall, super fun class and amazing person/lecturer!!
Good lecturer, upbeat and fun to listen to
Responds to email quickly. Super energetic and passionate ab content. Take organized notes cuz it's a lotta content and she doesn't post slides. A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT that's super easy to get. Kinda brain numbing but super easy. All three exams were online and open note+book. Questions were detail oriented so do pay attention to those in lec.
Enthusiastic lecturer and lots of extra credits
Dr. Fetter is so knowledgeable and friendly. I took this class as a GE and I learned a lot about nutrition. I really enjoyed completing the food diary project; it was fun and easy.
She's a really nice prof overall and her class is pretty interesting, but her teaching style annoyed me a little bit. She asks the class questions a lot that are kind of pointless and seemed to be taking up time in our class that got us behind; but I think that's mostly a personal pet peeve of mine. Assignments are really easy.
She is very passionate about nutrition and she is really sweet. I did not think some of the stuff for assignments was necessary. Most of the assignments are super long and need to be detailed or else u lose points. I simply didnt describe a detail on how I would do something and missed points when everything else was detailed. Not a bad GE overall.
Nothing to say. Really awesome.
With Dr.Fetter, she is genuinely someone really passionate about teaching this class. She recorded every single lectures. All you have to do is watching the lectures, finishing the quizzes and doing your fitness plan (which is a diet project) then you will definitely have an A. We have up to 24pts of ECs so participate. Highly recommended this GE
I'm a UC online student and this class was very accessible! Everything was laid out clearly and she provides many resources. Her enthusiasm for the material is what got me through all the lecture videos lol. Quizzes weren't bad and the FDP was interesting. Plus tons of EC! Take this class!!
Really easy class to take as a GE, just do the work.
Online course makes the course really accessible. Fetter organizes the class pretty well but a lot of the assignment guidelines and reminders were pretty excessive. Regardless the content in this course is a great GE for anyone. Still a fair amount of work tho. Lots of extra credit so don't worry too much about your grade.
Awesome lecturer! Easy class as GE! LOTS of Extra Credits! So do them to get an A. 2 midterms fair no final. Very simple and easy project! Overall, VERY easy class and recommend her!
I loved this class! I took it for my final quarter at Davis and I'm glad I got to experience the course. Lots of extra credit is offered and the quizzes are open notes. This class is an easy A if you watch the lectures and take notes as the questions pop up.
Super interesting class. She presents information very clearly. Projects were fun and insights into your own nutrition. Super accommodating and offers a lot of communication, from reminders about due dates to having an open chat, where questions can be quickly answered. She helped curate the class, so everything is organized well.
Her videos were very clear, with great production quality! She green screened herself, so she would pop up in the video against slides every now and then. Very chill class and you learn a lot about nutrition. Canvas quizzes were nice, very flexible. She is also beautiful, which makes watching lectures a bit distracting. Overall, awesome professor!
NUT 010 was a great GE to take. Lecture was well utilized and mostly necessary for success in the class. However, lectures were recorded so not necessary to attend in person class. Dr. Fetter is very passionate about nutrition and it was contagious to learn from her. Overall, interesting subject matter and not overly challenging.
Easy A+ for a GPA boost. Important and useful information taught. Clear lecture videos. About 50 mins of online module videos every week. Organized very well. Online quiz every other week that are easy if you take notes. Lots of extra credit. Lots of practice. Review sessions before quizzes. Easy projects. Take her! Very kind and thoughtful.
So passionate and considerate! I've never met a more accommodating professor. NUT 010 is an amazing class worth taking as a GE!
NUT 10V was an amazing GE to take online! Dr. Fetter is an amazing lecturer and her tests and assignments are pretty easy. She was very accessible through Discord, and all of the TAs had a fast response time. I had a great time watching her online lectures, and the only mandatory parts of this class are the quizzes and the two big projects!
So sweet and very caring. All tests are open note and there is SO many extra credit opportunities! Best GE
amazing prof, the online course was super easy. lectures were concise and interesting, projects were straightforward, and the quizzes were open note. some quiz questions were difficult, but still an easy A. there is lots of extra credit as well.
She was very active on Discord and thorough with instructions, which is key for an online course. She's also very passionate about what she teaches and genuinely wants each student to learn and grow. An A is super easy to get, she offers more extra credit than I have ever seen in a class, at least 5-10% thru various methods throughout the quarter.
NUT10 was an amazing GE. Dr. Fetter is so kind and enthusiastic about what she teaches! There are mini quizzes held in class which she calls "activities" and it gives you 5 points just for doing it. There's only 2 exams in the whole quarter which are both open-note and online. TONS of extra credit! Ended the class w/ 105%. Take this class!
Best GE at uc davis. Ended with a 102%. "Midterms" are taken on canvas and are all open note. Prof is very understanding and is genuinely enthusiastic about what she is teaching. As long as you take notes on the lectures and complete the in class activities + other assignments, you'll do well.
Take this class! Dr. Fetter makes lectures fun. A majority of the assignments are graded for completion and there is a plethora of extra credit. I got 12 points of extra credit just by participating in a game of jeopardy. I also learned so much about myself and was able to apply what was taught in class to real life. This also is the easiest GE lol
super easy ge and quite interesting too. 2 online exams that are open note so if you take good notes you will be so good and there are lots of ec oppurtunities. the food diary and health goal projects were cool because we were able to make connections between what we were learning and our own lives. i was very inspired by the all female team!
Honestly, just take this for GE. Her classes are just fun and informative even though I'm not a stem major, the content I learned just by doing the hwk was helpful to my knowledge of health. Simple but a bit boring at times. Really nice teacher and well thought out.
You could tell Dr. Fetter was super passionate about what she was teaching. She was very kind and super interactive with my class. Both the midterm and final are open note, and the food diary project was pretty chill. This class was different in the sense that it wasn't hard, but it did challenge you to analyze your lifestyle choices which I liked
A very easy/manageable class + is genuinely interesting if you're willing to learn. Mostly consists of Canvas quizzes + long-term assignments (which are do-able in ~1 hour for each assignment part).
Easy class, amazing TA's, easy project that you do throughout the quarter.
Easy course, completely asynchronous. Information dense lectures but note/lecture open quizzes.
Dr. Fetter is a gem! I'm not a STEM major but her passion and enthusiasm for the subject motivated me to show up for lectures. Sometimes she goes a little fast but every lecture is recorded. The projects also help you learn about your own nutrition and there is LOTS of extra credit offered. Easy GE!
Debbie is so sweet! Very passionate in her videos and her course taught me alot. The videos are tedious so I didnt watch them, but i still averaged a 30/35 on all of the quizzes. Highly recommend this course as an easy GE. The food diary project was the most weighted assignment but its very hard to fail this class...
Easiest GE class I've taken. Prof Fetter was a great lecturer and was so obviously enthusiastic about what she taught. She offered lot's of opportunities for extra credit. Assignments were a bit time consuming but very easy to complete. Both midterms were online and open-note.
She is so kind and understanding. Though her lectures are long I found them very interesting. The TA's are also very helpful in answering questions.I want to pursue either a minor or major in nutrition now!
yesssss I absolutely love love loved Dr. Fetter. She's such an amazing professor and her lectures were nice. Sometimes they could be a tad bit boring, and I would have to speed them up, but other than that her tests were super fair and all of them were open book. There's not much I can complain about with Dr. Fetter, she's great!
So thankful to have taken a class with Dr. Fetter. You will learn so much & there's also plenty of extra credit opportunities. I finished the class with over 103%. The quizzes are all online and as long as you watch all of the lecture videos, it is pretty easy. She also puts in SO much effort into her lectures and it makes it easy to follow along.
great lecturer, she is clearly passionate about nutrition and it translates! Tests are open book which makes it a lot easier. Overall a good class, learned a lot too.
Dr. Fetter is very passionate about nutrition which is evident in her lectures. Tests are open book and there is up to nine percentage points of extra credit. Fun and easy elective you should take.
Super kind professor! Class is easy and she offers a lot of extra credit
NUT was a cool class, however a lot of assignments and the TA's are rough graders. lots of extra credit given and the tests are pretty easy. I really didn't like how assignments are due at 5pm because a lot of us work mid-day.
Really good teacher. Videos are interactive and informative. Projects are really easy to follow and she gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Would definitely take again.
This class has been one of the easiest I've taken at UC Davis. We only had two exams, which were open notes, and she gave many extra credit opportunities throughout the quarter. The one thing you need to watch out for is that everything is due at 5 pm. Overall, this class was super interesting and I actually learned from it!!
This class was so easy, organized and interesting. Video's online each week (put on 2x speed and watch). TAKE NOTES to make quizzes easier. 30 points of extra credit offered through course, its almost impossible not to get an A. Make sure to read instructions on the projects and follow them.
Easy class and you get to learn about your diet. Anyways take this it's pretty chill.
Prof is a super sweet woman who seems to care about her students and gives lots of opportunities for a few extra credit points here and there. The recorded lectures could feel tedious but since all the tests (6 tests with lowest dropped (no exams)) were open book you should be able to get an A+ with a little effort. There is also an easy project.
Great professor, easy class material, and overall a lot of opportunities to get extra-credit.
Professor Fetter's nutrition class is a great easy GE with lots of extra credit opportunities. Engaging lectures, open-note exams, and helpful TAs make this a no-brainer - Unstuck ai was a game-changer for studying!
Has a ton of extra credit opportunities. Most of the grading comes from the 6 quizzes which are open note(based on assigned videos) (also lowest is dropped) and the main project which consist of a lot of easy math like finding averages. These do take up a decent amount of time to complete but it is mostly all easy material.
Arguably one of the best classes. You have 6 total quizzes all open note and lowest score will be dropped. You also have an easy project you work on most the quarter which consist of basic calculations like adding, multiplying and dividing stuff. Class offers a ton of extra credit opportunity. The class is what you expect a GE to be like. (easy)
This class is so easy and super fun! Professor is very nice but sometimes can go on tangents during lecture. Her class is super easy and has activities during class with codes, but if you cannot make it to lecture for the codes, she posts the slides after class. Most assignments are due on Thursdays at 5. Very lenient and incredibly caring!
Prof Fetter is extremely passionate about Nutrition and it makes her lectures more enjoyable. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit throughout the class. She is very accommodating to answer any questions you might have about nutrition. Would definitely take her again for NUT10!
Dr. Fetter is an incredible professor and her lectures are amazing and so fun! The class is easy as long as you do the projects and the tests are take home!
This teacher was terrific! This class is very flexible, so you can easily fit this as a GE if needed. Tests aren't too hard as they reflect exactly what you read from the textbook or the videos. Tests are open notes, so take good notes, and you'll be fine. The projects are fun and easy, too, and there isn't much homework besides reading.
Easy class, go to lecture and take notes because you'll need those for the exams. Participate in extra credit. I got a B+ on both exams but ended with an A+ bc of extra credit. Take her she's very nice.
SUCH AN AMAZING PROFESSOR! So passionate and a very clear grading criteria! The subject is also interesting and after finish this course you will definitely look at food in a different way. Super useful in real life, nutrition always is. Super accessible and nice in office hours.
This class changed how I look at food in such a great way! Easy class, don't technically need to go to class but activities due at 5 with code from lecture video due that day, very interesting, not test heavy, exams are open note take home, enjoyed lectures; questions welcome, such a fun and great human! understanding and accommodating, lots EC!
Prof Fetter is clearly very knowledgeable and has a bubbly personality. The lectures could be a little tiring because there was so much information being given at once, but that is to be expected. As long as you do the assignments you can get a good grade. She gives ec opportunities and all midterms were take home, open-note.
This is the easiest uc online class, so take if you need extra GE credits. Easy lecture videos, and quizzes pretty much guarantee an A. Also, Fetter gives a LOT of extra credit. The lecture material is also interesting and applicable to real-life.
The grade is based on around 6 open note quizzes, 1 quarter-long project, and a 2-part assignment which are all pretty straightforward. The amount of EC offered is great (most of the time they are surveys that take 10-15 mins or Zoom lectures. As long as you do the assignment and follow the rubric you are guaranteed an A
Sweet professor with a great personality, but her lectures are very information heavy. She talks rather fast, which can be difficult at times. Her canvas page seems to be overloaded with information, and while this is helpful for students, it can be overwhelming at times. Seems like an overall easier class, just very lecture heavy.
Love Dr.Fetter she is super nice and caring and her lectures are very interesting. There are 2 take at home exams, and the Food Diary Project which is quite engaging. Her lectures are recorded but I do recommend to go in person and there is online class activities. TAs and professor are super helpful. Mentions in lectures what will be on exams!
Fairly simple course, taken online or in person, I learned a lot, she has a major food diary project is simple if you follow the instructions, and 6 quizzes throughout that aren't difficult or trying to trick you either.
Very kind and caring professor! 13 in class activities, 2 part short profile paper, a pretty hefty project but very doable, and 2 exams (non-cumulative). She gives a lot of extra credit options and you can tell she cares about students learning. Just have good notes and watch lectures and you'll do great!
Dr. fetter gives a LOT of extra credit and grades are from a project, assignment and quizzes. personally i suck at nutrition so it was a little time consuming and difficult for me. The videos take a while and you need to take very specific notes. While it is designated to be easy you have to put in work to do well. Overall good class for a GE.
Dr. Fetter is super nice and super accessible. Good team of TAs for any questions. 6 quizzes one project and some assignments. Lectures are dense and long but make sure you write notes and you will be ok. im not good at nutrition so i kind of struggled...The extra credit REALLy saves you and overall good GE that tries to get u that A.
dr. fetter was amazing and made everything super easy, accessible, and gave sooooo much extra credit. the projects that we have are interesting and she made them super easy to complete with all her resources! amazing professor!
Dr. Fetter is an amazing professor and her class is super easy. She gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities and the work is relatively easy. Her lectures are great, but sometimes they can be a bit rushed and you might not be able to jot everything down, but all the lectures are recorded.
Amazing prof! Perfect GE. It's a super simple class, easy A, but will also teach you a lot about nutrition and eating and how the body works. I missed the final actually due to my own stupid mixup on what day it was on and she let me retake it for a light penalty which I'm really grateful for. Went from A+ to A, but highly recommend it!
One of the best professors I have had. Made lectures engaging despite their long times. The Extra Credit opportunities are plenty and can help you if you struuggle on the quizes. Very fair critieria and project outlines. Overal made learning nutrition fun and engaging.
Definitely take the online version, as it allows you to learn at your own pace. There's a ton of videos to watch, but this class's educational value is the best I've had at UCD. The things you learn in there will stick with you for a very long time. We also all love a tech savvy prof!
I cannot think of anything that could have been done differently to improve the course. Great teacher and super engaging.
GOATED GE.
The class is very insightful for nutrition. Prof is very nice. Has iClickers for attendance but you can do it from home. Assignments can be tedious but easy. Exams are take-home and open-note. Complete as much extra credit as you can. Overall very easy and informative class.
Super passionate about nutrition. nut10 has been her entire life since undergrad it seems. Enthusiastic during lecture but lwk kind of annoying sometimes. Two projects throughout the quarter, both very doable just keep track of due dates and smaller assignments. Two exams, one final, all online, none cumulative. Great class material, learned a lot
awesome GE to take!
Engaging lectures, moved at a good pace. In-person attendance not mandatory BUT each lecture has a short activity due 5 pm that requires a code from the lecture/recording. Projects are very easy to score high on, rubrics and templates hold your hand. 2 exams, require knowledge from lectures. No final.
Best prof I've had at UCD. Goat. Incredibly passionate abt nutrition--it shows in her lectures. Workload manageable (a few lectures/week along with 1 major project and 2 small assignments)
Professor Fetter is soooo good. You can get a high grade in her courses easily because of extra credits!!! You can also learn many useful and interesting nutritional facts from her courses, which benefit our whole lives.
NUT 10V was an extremely easy GE. There are 3-5 online lectures videos every week to watch. Based on the lectures, there are quizzes given. The quizzes are extremely fair and very easy to get an A on. There are 2 projects for the class. They are also very simple, and the rubric is clear as to what she is looking for. Dr. Fetter is amazing!
If you want to learn about nutrition take this course!! It was so much fun and such an easy GE
Easy A and a lot of extra credit. Lectures are amazing! Great GE and great professor.
Goated class take this GE if you want something chill
Take this class! Lots of fun, super interesting lectures, very cool content.
Even though there were no in person lectures I found Dr. Fetter's recorded lectures to be engaging and I honestly learned a lot through them and the Food Diary Project. I definitely recommend taking this!
Sublime! The class is so well structured, her videos are super high quality, and I love her positivity.
I loved this class, easy GE and I learned a lot. The professor is so nice, and office hours were helpful. A lot of videos but put them in 2x speed and you will good!
Dr. Fetter is very knowledgeable. All lectures this quarter were playposit videos, but were very relevant info and engaging. The projects were interesting and had clear grading criteria. Lots of extra credit opportunites through attending live lectures or taking optional surveys. Lowest quiz (including final) was dropped. Textbook not necessary.
Dr. Fetter is very passionate about this class, and it shows through her lecture videos. I definitely recommend staying on top of those lecture videos because it can be easy to fall behind with how many there are, and with the class being an online class. Assignments were easy and insightful as well.
