I think her class is excellent, not too bored, and u will learn many math from her. In addition she won't speak very fast, and she is extremely helpful. However, mid-terms and final are CRAZY~ if u reli plan to get A in math1a, don't take her~

It's not easy, that's for sure. The quizes will fool you so be very prepared for difficult exams. The homework from the book is useless for the exams and you MUST use the in class sheets. Get those things down and think of the most obscure way she can pose the questions... Good Math students had a hard time.

Mrs.Lee is organized, detailed and she can control her class. She is such a good teacher that it's SEXY!! She teaches SEXY MATH.

She's very helpful but hard grader.I heard Foothill staff asking her why she gave low grades. There were fifty students in my class. Only thirty five left after the first exam, and twenty something left after the second exam. The only 3As in my class are master degree holders. Don't take her if you want A.

true, teacher does teach at a fast pace, but it is appropriate to for a university class. under line university. its only a CC.. so some people may find it difficult. a lot of material covered

She's an amazing teacher! She is clear, organized and teaches the material well. She cares about the students and checks during class to see if you get it. She focuses on concepts, so don't expect to just use a formula. To do well, you need to work hard (about 15 hrs/week). Not a class for slackers.

I learned a lot from this class. She teaches well and is there to help you. The assignments she gives can challenge you and really make you think. I took an "easier" teacher for the previous class and I wasn't very prepared. This teacher helped me go back and learn some of the stuff I was missing. I learned my lesson - be careful with easy teachers

She is very clear in her instruction and does more than repeats what is in the book. If you study and ask her questions you will get a good grade in her class. I have learned a lot.

She manage to explain concepts clearly but she is not that willing to help. She doesn't have an overall good attidtude towards students. Her exams are not hard but homework assignments are weird. if you lose marks, it's probably from those assignments.

classes consist of tests, quizzes, and take home quizzes. Homework is optional. She's great at lecture. I've learned a lot in her class. She's even really open to negotiate your grade!! The down fall is the difficulty. Give it your 110% in this class and keep up!! (or else it'll eat you alive). I'm pretty strong at math, and I still got a low B.

Don't believe the previous comments which were about how hard she was. In fact, as long as you pay attention to class and do all the exercises, you will be fine in her tests and exams. I didn't study for the first exam and got a D. However, I started to study and got a B in the end of this quarter.

She is the best maths teacher i've ever taken in foothill.. Exams are not hard.. they just require u to apply concepts.. Once u get the concepts + think a bit = A-/A.. She curves a bit too.. I wish she will teach math 2a or 2b or 1d =).. Take her!! U'll need the concepts to do math 1d =)!!

Fair mathematics instructor. Not super hard but not easy either. Can opt out of homework. If you are not strong in math, I would not recommend.

She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful! It is made clear what is expected of you (no trickery on tests) and questions are always welcome. Easy to get extra help during office hours or at the PSME. Just do your homework and you'll do great! This is math in a pleasant friendly environment! I loved this class!

Great teacher. Very helpful as I did not do well in Math 1B. She filled the gaps and I got a B+ in Math 1C. If you are willing to work, she will get you thru the class.

She is an awesome teacher. She barely uses the textbook, mainly teaches using her perosnal examples (uploaded as PDF's). The class is easy but not boring, surprisingly. One note about grading - make sure to explain everything in full and use HER terminology. I got dinged a few times for not doing so. All in all a GREAT teacher, will take her again.

Very enthusiastic, very energetic, very demanding! You have to work hard and TRY (often lots of different things) on the challenging problems. If you try hard you will learn a lot. Not for those who think they already know it all because they learned a few tricks in high school.

She is very excited about teaching and does a lot of examples in class. Her examples are fun and so is her class. But I just feel defeated after every quiz because I fail them all-even though I participate in class and get As on all the hw. So prepare for easy hw and class and hard quizzes that don't even seem similar to what you've been doing.

I took her Statistics class. She was very friendly and made it interesting. I was never bored in her class, and she will help you if you ask. She wants you to succeed. Not too hard, and I think she made it as easy as statistics can be.

before taking her class know that you must print out about 10 pages a week, so add printer supplies to your budget. Also you must teach yourself A LOT, much of the homework is not covered in class. Quite a bit is expected of you in that aspect. However, she is very knowledgeable and can explain things well. More than willing to help you if you ask.

It's suprising me that she has this low rate. Very friendly and willing to help student.Classes are based on solving problems. Quizs and final are not hard as long as you pay attention to classes.

She's very easy going and she's not out to get you. it was a very easy class compared to my other 48c class all you really had to do was pay attention and do the hw problems she assigned

She is simply the best Math teacher I have ever had in my life! Unlike many teachers who show you easy examples in lectures and then fail you on the tests with hardcore stuff, she shows you how to approach challenging problems in class. Debbie is an applied mathematician, so in her class you will be able to actually understand how math works.

She is a very good teacher. As long as you do the homework, and attend the lectures, you will do fine. Exams are similar to homework, and in-class problems/group activities. Final and second exam are usually easier. Not a lot of homework, like 15-20 online homework per section. Easy A/B

Debbie gives you just the right amount of work/insight for math (not too much and not too little). Gives well crafted classwork and is willing to help you quickly and efficiently in her office. If you show that you want to learn and get a good grade (ask questions and talk to her in her office), she'll give more attention to you in class.

Debbie lee always is willing to help her students and trying to explain everything. Her exams and final seem very difficult, but she is very generous. Even if I did some sign mistakes or calculate mistakes, she deducts just 1 point each. You will learn a lot if u take her class and get a good grade if you put some effort into math.

She's a TOUGH teacher. I would not recommend if you're just trying to get by with math. She expects you to take her lectures and classwork and put it all together on the quizzes almost every week and her exams. If you're not a math person, you will not do well in her class.

She always try her best to give the wonderful and funny lecture. Her test is not that hard, you just need to participate her class , revise writting homework and you will be fine. She gives many excited online homeworks related to reality life, which you will need for studying higher and think more critically. Highly recommend.

Simply love her lecture and her exercise. The quiz is a little bit hard but you just need to spend 1 days to review all writing homework and you will pass the class with the high grade.

I simply love her enthusiasm for teaching. She made me love math and challenge me by the homework related to reality. Very fun, very wonderful. Her test is not hard as I just spent 1 days reviewing writing homework for midterm and 2 days reviewing writing homework and all the test I did. Easy A but still excited.

You do not like math because you think it will not help you anything in the reality? Think again and try her class. She gave me many excited exercise which is related to reality. You should participate all the class, do writing homework carefully and review writing homework for the test and you will receive an A, pretty easy.

Professor Lee's class was engaging with lots of group work. The lectures were clear and refreshingly short, and her attitude is casual and enthusiastic. She presents the material well in advance of quizzing on it, so the tests were on content that we had already learned and built upon the week before.

I am studying with her now. So far so good. Quiz is easy I must say that but I am not sure whether the mid-term test will be that easy. A lot of written homework but you can use her office hours to ask for help and she also response my email very quickly.

I really enjoy her class because her lectures are clear, interactive and well-organized. Not only that she really tries to make sure you understand what's going on in class and will answer any questions (in and out of class). I only wish she didn't have a strict grading policy: a tiny bit lenient and her class would've been perfect!

She's just an awesome individual in every regard. She helps you succeed, and truly believes that you are capable of achieving greatness in math and beyond. Take her class, and work hard, she ll meet you half way, and help you as much as you need. Really patient with you, and loves doing her job. Just an honor to be in that class.

She's amazing! I had her for 48C and 1A straight. And I am planning on taking her for the entire math series. She explains really well and answers questions in and out of class. She is a hard grader, though. She never gives extra credit and sometimes she takes unnecessary points from testsquizzes.

Debbie is very sweet! She's more than willing to go out of her way to help students during and outside of class. Her tests are straight forward but can be tough sometimes. Her lectures are engaging, and there's plenty of worksheets done together in class that really helps. There's written homework as well along with weekly quizzes.

I didn't do great, disappointing because workload nearly killed me. I was slow to catch on and did poorly on quizzes. They aren't like the HW and I kept getting surprised. Tip: exam prep is all about going over the quizzes. Important to understand how she will ask the Q. I loved class despite workload. She's dedicated, superb. I feel ready for 1B.

She really cares for her students who are willing to learn. Her teaching style is clear and does not require you to take a lot of notes. She gives handouts and she explains them in-class so you can listen to her lectures and really understand the materials. The handouts are super helpful but it stacks up quickly, making my backpack heavy xD.

Debbie is an amazing person. She is a good teacher and very helpful! Math is my worst subject but she along with class tutors take the time to make sure you understand everything!

Debbie was very clear, helpful, and kind. She was always patient, willing to answer questions, and elaborate on things, even if it was a concept we should know but had forgotten from earlier math classes. The only thing is that at times certain test/quiz questions seemed a little unrelated to hw and examples, but she always graded very fair.

I took Debbie Lee's class in the summer (accelerated course) and she did an exceptional job explaining the concepts. I really admire how Debbie goes out of her way to help you when you are struggling with the content. Homework was non-essential but it will help you prepare for her tests.

Debbie is a talented teacher. Her lectures are amazing and she is also able to adapt her teaching style to suit individual needs-if you don't understand a concept, ask her and she will explain in a different way that suits your mode of thinking. Professor Lee is very caring, and genuinely wants her students to pass. She does go over a lot during her lectures, however, so missing class will not help your grade. Her office hours are also helpful. Quizzes are generally easy as long as you understand the content but exams are moderately difficult. Schedules quizzes on Fridays, so no skipping

I had Debbie Lee for Pre-Calc 3 and Calc 1B and she's awesome! By no means are the classes themselves easy, but she's a great instructor and teacher. Very clear, compassionate, and fluid. These are the types of classes where having a well-spoken and articulate teacher is absolutely key. Easily one of the best instructors ever! Math D. Lee

She's a toughie. I took her for a summer course and I still felt like I learned the material. My advice: read the textbook and practice everyday for at least an hour (I wish I did!). I think she's really a fair grader, and is willing to help you outside of class. I you'll pass if you show up, do the work (not the day before!),and practice.

I took Debbie for 48C during the winter. Her class was challenging though I felt that she explained everything clearly and answered all of the class' questions. Her quizzes and exams are usually quite straightforward and they follow the handouts that she gives.

First of all, don't buy the book! I didn't open it all quarter. Secondly, people claim that her class is awful but personally, I thought she was the best. Her tests weren't easy, but they were fair. Everything she tested us on was material we should definitely know and she was very generous with partial credit.

Very underrated. Walks around during lecture as you do practice problems & will individually help you w/ a problem & then goes over it w/ the whole class. Uses lecture packets, no textbook references, quiz every friday, drops lowest quiz & is SUPER helpful in office hours. Tests are on difficult topics not really covered in class, otherwise amazing

Debbie is really excited to explain the covered concepts during class. Since there is so much material to cover, you may not understand everything the first time around in her lectures. Make sure to study up on the things you missed. Understand the concepts and you'll pass the exams.

Great lecturer: she introduces concepts clearly and points out the connections you need to make, and seems genuinely excited about the material she teaches. Exams and quizzes aren't too bad as long as you come to lecture and do the homework. And she's really nice!

Debbie was great. Her tests and quizzes were fair, her homework was reasonable, and her lectures were helpful. She's easy to talk to when you have issues with any of the concepts. Do what she recommends (hw, reading), and you will do well. Definitely not a ridiculous amount of work, and generous grading.
