I was a little confused with the time period given to the class. I thought it ran for 8 weeks, yet our final was due the beginning of the 7th week.

This class was pretty hard becuase it was 8 weeks. Required alot of reading. But I started to really get into it and enjoyed it.

Highly recommended! This is the 2nd class I've taken with Secord. Both have been fairly easy and fairly interesting. You shouldn't have a problem if you just keep track of deadlines.

This is a great class for students who want to study online to free up their time. This class is interesting, not time consuming and all the information is right in front of you. Anyone should be able to get at least a B. Plus she's quite attractive (even though you only see her once, for the final).

Materials meticulously organized. This class is on a fast pace and the student must keep up with readings and other assignments. You will learn alot, but the teacher wants to help you learn, just ask when clarity is needed!

I have just completed Sociology 120--Gerontology. I loved the class as it was very thorough and informative. Everyone who is aging or has aging relatives needs to have this knowledge. This class is great! I took it for the 3 units, but by the first week realized that it is one of the best and most informative classes you can take. Dr. Secord provided a detailed intro guide and final exam review. She made available 22 self test (not graded) that were very useful in quiz and final prep. The text book was clear and easy to read and she emphasized which chapters should be given special attention. I highly recommend her.

Professor Secord was always accessible. Her lessons were clear and very useful. Unlike some online teachers, she didn't feel the need to meaningless work. Her lessons, quizzes, and exam were all substantive. Professor Secord is also very understanding and works with you if you run into a hiccup.

Very well-paced assignments in an eight-week class. The work load is a lot, but the class is half the length! Professor Secord does a very nice job of communication in this online course. I highly recommend this class and professor. Frankly, I was quite taken by the textbook and found the subject matter fascinating. Your mileage may vary :)

I had very little interest in taking this class but I actually didn't mind it when I was taking it. She makes it easy, but I still learned a lot. Just read the text and do the assignments and you'll do fine!

Excellent class. Professor Secord responded to my questions promptly every time I emailed her. Class was interesting. Very clear about what she wants and give you plenty of time to do it. Just do the work and you'll pass easily and be surprised at some of the things you discover about the earth that you never knew about. At least for me anyway.

This had been one of my most interesting class in a long time. Prof Secord answered all questions and offered help as needed. I took this class while deployed and although the time difference was a hinderance, she kept my interest in the class and made sure I would not just learn the info for a grade but for absolute knowledge. Nice lady. 3 writing assignments that are easy. 2 quizzes: just look at online notes. Final is difficult. Responds to dicussion board posts. Super helpful and will get you on the right track.

I took Debras'online personal health class (81441) This class was very organized and very cleary. Teacher made herself available and replied quickly to emails with any questions. I extreamly recomend this class to anyone who needs to finish GE requirements or just need units or actually wants to learn about your health like me. Amazing Class!

I took the 8 week class. It was difficult but I passed. If you aren't a good test taker like me then make sure you do all of your homework and do well on the essay. The teacher was very nice and helpful. Whenever I e-mailed her, she responded back within a day. I highly recommend her class.

The class was harder then expected but if you watch the videos, do the assignments and read all the required reading, you will do fine. I took an 8 week class and anytime I needed help with a question, Prof. Secord was always quick to reply. I had no interest prior to taking the class but I know catch myself noticing rocks and trees! :)

I love Ms. Secord. I have taken other classes with her and she is awesome, however, AVOID this course. The test questions have almost nothing to do with what you learned. The new moodle service she uses is terrible. Good book, lousy test questions. I got a B when I should have gotten an A thanks to the crappy online test questions.

I liked the course material and found it somewhat easy. Three tests, an essay and the weekly exercises make up your grade. The instructor is great but the course website is terrible. It only actually displayed my score on the last week of the class so I had to manually calculate it. Many other students had the same issue. Overall, good.

She's one of the nicest online teachers at CCC teaching Gerontology courses. Her 8 week courses are short, but giving you enough knowledge about the course. There's usually 2 quizzes and a final. Her classes will typically also include some essays. Read the book and support your essays is the key to that A.

14 hw assignments worth 75 pts, unlimited tries. 3 exams worth 225 pts, solely based off books and really easy to get an A or B. I studied maybe 20 minutes and got 2 As and 1 B. Essay worth 100 pts which took me about 2 hours and was an easy 100 points. I don't even think she read my essay and just gave me the 100 points. Guaranteed A, take her.

The course was the epitome of self-study. Ms. Secord setup the course so well that you don't need supplemental instruction. Most of the work is based straight out of the book, but watching at least the presentation videos is important because some test questions come from them. Enjoyed the class, highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this class. I felt it was setup well by the instructor and required minimal interaction from her. All tests and essay were based off of textbook as well as the videos. I'd recommend for a liberal arts major looking to fulfill a transfer requirement.

The Health class online C100 was great class for me! Not alot of assignments to do! Debbie was a great help! She responds your emails 24/7. I passed the class and it was worth it!!

I took the online course, and she was great. She uses moodle, and at first it was confusing, but once you get used to it, it's great. She lets you retake tests with low scores, and I still got an A on the essay even though I read the syllabus wrong and turned it in a week late.

This class I would say was pretty easy. It was my first online class and it was very organized. You have to keep up with the reading though. There are 2 quizzes, really easy, i got 100% on both. 2 papers (use many outside sources, and 1 cumulative final. She responds to emails quickly and some parts were really interesting. Definitely reccomend!!

Ms. Secord laid out the syllabus to the simplest term as possible. It was clear and really no excuse to not understand. I was nervous taking my first exam. I had issues with the website and she was quick to reset the test and let me take it again. My favorite part was writing about my favorite national park. Very helpful!!

I took this class this past Spring, and I have to admit, it was very challenging. However, Ms. Secord was great. She worked with me all the way through the course and I greatly appreicated that. To me, she is one of the best teacher ever at Coastline!

Dr. Secord is very attentive and flexible while managing large class sizes. There was never more than 24hrs for email responses to my inquiries. This class utilized Moodle course ware (buy the kit!). I found the lab portion much more time intensive than the GEOL course. The GEOL 105c and Lab are very well coordinated to support topic understanding.

Super responsive online instructor. Answered all my questions and concerns within 24 hours. You have to keep up and do the work since it's an online class, but if you go through all the online activities, read the book and the online "lectures", etc., you'll get an A.

The videos were very helpful. The visual helps when there are so much text to read. The format is easy to follow and at a decent pace.

This health class was very easy; I finished within a month. 2 quizzes, 1 outline, a paper and a final. The paperoutline for the paper is an easy grade and the final and quizzes were easy as well. I only used the book as a reference. The last 2 weeks of the class she was completely silent and never said another word to us again which was weird.

Dr. Secord was very informative. I had work, family and school. So sort of being overwhelmed, I started slipping in class. I received an email to see if everything is ok. Which it wasn't. So I continued to push and passed the class. Awesome instructor.

This is the second class I have taken with Ms Secord, she is a wonderful teacher. If you do poorly on an exam, she lets you retake it, so that you can learn the material better and do well. She responds to emails and is there for you. Although the tests in this class are fairly hard, even studying I had a hard time. Other assignments were EASY!!

I took this 8 week course and I missed an A by 4 points! The homework is a piece of cake. I finished the course in about 3 weeks. The exams were tricky because of wording of the questions. I tried looking up all the answers I did not know but because of the wording it slowed me down. I almost ran out of time each exam because I wanted to an A.

good class, passed with a B the tests are pretty hard and questions are chosen randomly so you cant really prepare i got C's on all the test and passed the class with a B. there is a national parks essay which is worth a good amount of points and these learning games which are free points. also some discussion board questions. tough but manageable

Prof. Secord was one of my MOST FAVOTIVE professors ever!! I emailed her 3 weeks before summer classes started & she replied to me the next day!! Throughout the whole 8 week class she was there for me with help or questions I had!! Her homework, quizzes, paper, & finals are very passable if you study! She's Awesome!! I highly highly recommend her!!

Online class is pretty self-explanatory however this is my first time taking summer online class at Coastline Community College so it took me a while to get the hang of the system. I love the presentations and activities in this class. From my experience, the professor is somewhat lenient. I really enjoyed the class.

Do your assigned work. 3 exams. 1 paper and discussions. Publisher site for homework. A great gen ed science class that is worth taking. A mid semester 8 wk online class - how great! fast pace but staggered to my other 8wk classes. 16 wk classes are too long. Life happens. I realized my load was ok to add a class an mid semester was perfect!!!

A great mid semester 8 week program. The prof is quick to respond via email. Online means self motivation but its very doable. If you need a physical science, This is a great course

Towards the end of the semester, it was evident that I was going to get a B+ instead of an A. Professor Secord was nice enough to let me retake all of the online tests, and I got a much better score than I previously did... and I got an A!!! She's super helpful, but you need to teach the material yourself. I would recommend outlining the chapters.

Class is extremely flexible (I was two weeks behind and I caught up). 1 essay and 3 quizzes open book, lots to read but not impossible. Homework was interactive and helped. Take class serious with reading and you'll pass. Teacher was nice and easy to reach when I had questions needing clarification and helped when I fell behind.

Professor Secord oversees this independent study lab in Geology. It is an interesting class, but one where you must put in extra time performing the labs and reading the lab book in order to get a good grade. The videos were helpful in learning the concepts. I found this class to be interesting albeit time consuming.

8-wk course. Genuinely cares about her students. Checks in on you if you miss assignments to make sure everything is okay and that you stay on track. Fairly easy labs and fun activities. Tests are harder but second attempts are allowed. 105: lesson activities + 3 exams + 1 paper. 105L: Lab activities + 2 exams. Very organized. Must take.

Prof is very nice and understanding. Good communication if you have questions. She uses the Canvas platform which is great once you get use to it. It has a good app so it's easy to access the class on your phone. The assignments are easy. The discussions are like essays. The tests are super tough. Do well on the discussions and assignments to pass.

She is the kindest teacher I have ever met in my life. She really cares for her students and she obviously teaches because she loves her job. I have never met her personally but took several courses online with her. She was so supportive and answers all your questions. If your scared to go to college, take one of her classes as an ice breaker.

One of the smoothest and less stressful classes I have taken

Professor Secord did an amazing job at handling a class full of students completely unfamiliar with the CMS the course used. (new to the school) On top of that, any time I missed an assignment by a day or so, she would usually allow me to submit late for some points off. Now, I didn't miss a lot of assignments, but, low-key chill teacher. Clear.

This class was an easy A the course used is Canvas but must buy access code & rent book you will need for Test. Discussion are important only 3 given & 4 exams. I took the lecture & lab with this prof. Study & u will pass. Weekly assignment no affirmative due dated, all work turned in by end of semester. Excellent online class.

Wonderful professor. You'll love her. Very helpful if you need it. Study, there aren't a lot of shortcuts but the class is very interesting and you'll learn alot. One of the better classes I've taken. Lab is fun and again no shortcuts. I ended up with a C because, unfortunately, I had so many problems during the course. She's the coolest

She genuinely cares for her students and wants them to pass. This is a common sense course, so you could do without the book, but it helps to have it. Nothing too challenging about her health course. Easy A. She is great with feedback and communication.

The textbook is large so you will have to read a lot. Watch the videos within the modules because the tests will ask you questions pertaining to them. She was very helpful with questions I had with some of the papers. She helped me research my national park and always responded promptly. Great professor, I wish she would teach everything!

Professor Secord's geology Did have reading and projects and the tests were not easy, required study, but it all helped to understand the subject. She was very open to discussion, easily available when you had questions; very good to work with in extenuating circumstances. I would highly recommend her class and her as an instructor.

Professor Secord does a great job at setting up classes and making it very easy to understand what is required. Be sure and do well on the exams, they have a lot of weight on your grade! Overall fairly simple, straightforward class!

I wasn't sure how I would do in Geology, even though I've always loved the study of rocks. Professor Secord makes it fun. This is an engaging class with an interesting textbook material. If you do the reading assignments, Exams should be fairly easy to pass, plus Professor gives you a second chance to improve your grade. Really enjoyed this class!

The assignments/discussions were easy. The exams though were difficult and required lots of studying to pass. She was so helpful whenever I was struggling. I loved the way her assignments were set up. Also gives you the opportunity to take exams again, but are different then the first. She was very nice and the coolest professor ever. TAKE HER!

I took this class about 20 years ago, in lieu of high school health class. I was behind the class, and failing. Yet, I went to the review sessions, did some extra credit, and asked Professor Second some questions. Her structure was good, she was knowledgeable, and I got that A. It gave me confidence to do more classes at Coastline for 20 years!
