The subject matter (ehtics)is difficult and the tests are not easy (essays), but the teacher is good and what she teaches is remembered and can be applied to everyday life. She is great!

I absolutely LOVED Ms. W!. 1 of the best teachers EVER. Fun, loving, full of energy, motivating and just an overall beautiful person. Subject matter's sickeningly difficult, but she DEFINITELY makes up for it. Classes are as stimulating as phil. can be!

I had her for Philosphy on a friday night. After the usual drop outs, she made it "easy" to be there. She presents the information in an easy to understand form.

Take this class if you have to. She is a very nice teacher and easy. Doesn't give alot of work but there's a paper due at the end of the semester. Recommend her..

She is a gr8 teacher, she makes things easy for you to understand. she wil make you write down a lot of notes but if you study 1 hr the day before her exam you will get an A for sure.

She is a great teacher. Attend class and participate and you will definitely succeed! She has great lessons and can teach you many things that you can use even today! One of the best teachers I have ever had!

What a wonderful woman. I loved talking to her and with her the topic at hand is relevant and she wont let you sit on the fence (and odds are you will feel one way or another). For some ethics is hard to grasp, but it isn't. You have encountered situations in your life that she will discuss. Awesome chick, take her and you wont be dissapointed!

Professor Whittaker is an excellent teacher! Her tests are easy if you study and take notes in class. I plan on taking her again for ethics. Ms. Whittaker rocks!

She is a wonderful instructor with interesting laectures and gets her students involved in disscusions.. She gives you exactly what you need to study for exams which are very straight forward and overall very easy if you have studied the material. I would love to take another class that she is teaching!

She's just such a great teacher. Took the class with the initial thought that I was going to be terrible at comprehending the topic, but her teaching is so refreshing and encouraging. She's high on my list of favorite teachers.

this teacher is wonderful...she makes you think about yourself and how you view life...this class is extremely easy if you attend and pay attention. HW is very easy also...i like the way she teaches the class by using movies to reinforce what the book is saying...the book is very easy reading...overall a great class with a great instructor

Hands down THE best professor I have had in college so far. I've taken her 3 semesters in a row, even though the last 2 I didn't need her class for credits. Love this woman. She's an amazing person and a wonderful teacher. You will not regret taking this class one bit.

She is so nice and really into Philosophy. Her tests are pretty easy and as long as you write the essays you get full credit and they're all opions anyway. It was sometimes too easy

Ms. Whittiker is a wonderful teacher. Her class is interesting, fun, and you will learn a lot. She gets the whole class involved which makes it so much fun. We laughed a lot in her class, well, I did atleast. She is a really great teacher, take her, you will thank me! :)

I also had her for Phil 7. She is great, by far my favorite teacher! She makes Phil fun and easy to follow. I enjoyed Phil 7 better than 11, but both were interesting! If you need Eng 3 then take her for 11 instead! Although I do not need any more of her classes, i might take them for fun!

She is a very kind woman who never appeared rude or mean towards her students. She gives a very fair amount of work (essays, casual homework) and the class wasn't stressful, in my opinion. A very interesting class with a nice teacher.

Whittaker is SUPER EASY. The test questions are almost too easy because they are so straight forward. She cares about her students and the subject matter. Take her if you need an easy class just make sure to do all the homework assignments.

She is a wonderful teacher. Very laid-back and explains things crystal clear. Just show up and take good notes and you'll get an A. She is very passionate about Philosophy and you will be too after you take her class.

She teaches a very interesting class, and you can tell by the look in her eyes when listening to a student's input that she really loves teaching this subject. I highly recomend people take her for Ethics, and I plan on taking her for Phil 11 next semester.

Debbi Whittiker is a great philosophy professor. She's easy, but hell, its philosophy! Ethics was a blast. She's so fun. It's nice to ENJOY a class & still learn something:)

She is a great teacher. Pretty easy class. However, she makes you copy a ton of notes every day from an overhead. So be prepared to leave with a tired hand from copying notes all day. I would reccomend her to my friends.

Great professor, great person to chat with. She's very open to ideas. A very easy class. Most homework isn't even checked for correctness. There was a lot of homework assignments, however, and one essay at the end. Highly recommended.

Great teacher. NOTES and examples from the book is going to be on exam. Easy hw. it's whether u do them or not to get 20 pts. There's quizzes i think every two weeks. and ?s from the quiz will be on the exam. a lot of writing which makes sense tho. no projects. and there's group activities

This professor is the best. Her personality is so warm, friendly, and funny. Non-Western philosophy is such an interesting course, and it's made better because she teaches it. Not only that, she has traveled extensively, thus she knows her material. She is so funny. Her personality made me stay awake at 9 in the morning. Love her!

She's really funny, easy to talk to, and tests come right from lecture. overall, very good teacher !

Very charismatic, I enjoyed her class. Notes are spoonfed (so unless your an idiot-you get it), grades are done fairly and the critical thinking skills taught can help everyone.

She always presents both sides of arguments,and is very open minded.The material is relatively easy.

Read the book! You will not pass test if you really on power point only. Slides only reinforce material, not substitute for reading. Great Teacher, and wonderful personality. Is highly motivated to make sure you learn the material. She will present both sides, and you do not have to agree with a concept to look at both sides.

Attending lectures is suggested. Lot of note-taking during lectures, though, the material from your notes and from the textbook primarily make-up the quizes and exams. 4 quizes, 3 exams. Hw, credit / no credit. Very interesting concept presented in PHIL 11. I wish she taught PHIL 12 though !

NonWestern Philosophy: This class was fun and interesting. You can tell this teacher is passionate about the subject. There are a lot of papers due and a lot of reading but it helps you get a thorough understanding of each topic (Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Islam, etc). I?ve enjoyed the class immensely.

She's a wonderful teacher with a friendly personality. Usually 3 hour classes dull me out after an hour, but her enthusiasm kept us going. Take notes, go over the terms for quizzes, make sure u cover each bullet on her prompts, and you should receive a good grade.

Mildly easier Teacher. Just study your notes and do the papers the best you can. Its pretty obvious what you get in the class and the subject is as fun as she is. She makes the class go by easily. TAKE HER!

She is a very pleasant and wonderful. She will help you if you are in need. She breaks things down for you that you don't understand. Overall this class was easy for me and I totally recommend this professor. TAKE HER! :D

She's really cool, she even rides a motorcycle haha. She loves watching her students learn, she's a very fair grader. Class participation is a must. You do use her textbook pretty often, and her powerpoints are easy to understand. Overall she's a real cool teacher, funny too.

Great teach she takes time to make sure you understand. Problem is I get bored quickly in classes that are no fast paced so this affected my grade somewhat. I got a B but could have gotten an A easily, had I applied myself. I recommend her though excellent teacher.

Ms. Whittaker is AWESOME!!! She is funny, helpful and is always smiling. She travels to China and brings great stories! Reading the book is a must, her lectures are based on the book and if you read and listen to the lecture you will do great on the tests and quizzes. I loved taking this class. Professor Whittaker is really energetic about philosophy and loves talking about her trips around the world. This class was very easy and interesting at times. The book is required to do the assignments. The tests were simple and straightforward. I will be taking her again for PHIL 11.

Great professor. She's very passionate about philosophy and always positive. She's very helpful as well. Lectures were easy to follow. Study guides were helpful. There were 3 exams, 4 papers. Only homework was to read the assigned readings. She takes attendance every class. I highly recommend taking her class!

Another great semester with Professor Whittaker! She really gets the students motivated and creates an environment where lively discussions can take place. There are 4 writing assignments, 3 which are based on films watched in class. There are in class group assignments as well so attendance is important. If you show up and do the work, easy A!

Philosophy 11 with Professor Whittaker was groovy. Her lectures were NEVER boring, and there were quite a few interesting classroom discussions. She is awesome, I definitely recommend her!!! You rock Whittaker!!!! :)

Dr. Whittaker is awesome! She's so cheerful and sweet, and her lectures were engaging. Her notes were crystal-clear, and her exams were easy (as long as you study!). I loved her vibrant personality and her happy expressions. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is interested in taking philosophy.

Professor Whittaker is awesome ! She's very clear and concise, the textbook is a must ! you get many quizzes, 4 assignments and 1 final, taking notes in class is extremely essential . I loved her class , she's really fun and tries to work with you until you understand the subject, she openminded but doesn't accept late work. I highly recommend her.

Basic class, nice teacher, and helpful. Boring at times but she is really nice and you can tell she really enjoys the subject. gives quizzes on every chapter, no exams till the final. So its important to get good grades on the quizzes. Doesn't give a lot of homework there are 5 assignments in total that are very simple exercises out of the book.

Prof. Whittaker has easy class. Most of the quiz questions are from her lectures, and the finals are questions from the quizzes.

I took her for Phil 11 and she turned out to be one of the best professors I've ever had. She keeps it interesting and fun. She realizes students have other things to do and respects it. It was honestly a very easy class, it was the basic , look over your notes and those are the quizzes. The final was an accumulation of the quizzes. It was simple.

Took phil 11, honestly very easy class. Not many, if not at all homework assignments, only a couple assignments in the class, you can work with a partner. Quizzes on every chapter but simple, its just the notes. I do recommend reading the chapters as she will throw in a question from the textbook. But very easy class. Great instructor!!

She was an easy easy A. There was 7 quizzes, and 1 final, that's it. No HW. Just take notes on PowerPoint or not because she posts them online, study them and it's an easy A. One of the easiest classes I've ever taken.

Easy class. 3 quizzes, 1 final, 4 easy assignments about the movies we watched, and 3 in class group projects. This class was very interesting. She really loves the subject she is passionate when she teaches. I bought the book but did not use it, I just went off her power points.

She's really good and explains the topics good enough to understand quite easily. The book is not required and there are 3 quizzes, a few group assignments, and a few short responses to the films that are watched in class. The quizzes are somewhat easy if you dedicate your time to understanding the material.

Class is interactive, which allows students to better understand the topics, while sharing different ideas and opinions. Short quizzes, every/every other week, which help retain the material. Prof. W. is funny, I love when she shares her life experiences. She keeps a great attitude, and is opened to all opinions. I recommend her!

Assignments are easy. Watch movies in class. Her quizzes are straight from her PowerPoints. If you go over them you'll be fine. Sometimes the questions are nearly the same so miss one and you'll miss them all so don't forget to take a quick glance through the slides.

Prof Whittaker is an amazing instructor, her personality is bubbly , she genuinely cares about students and she makes it easy to grasp material. You will need the book and what she lectures on will be on the test. There are quizzes about every 2 weeks or so but if you have the notes, u will be fine. No homework(just study) def taking her for Phil 3

Professor Whittaker is really nice. She's bubbly and her lectures are so easy to understand. Her quizzes are straight from the lecture and or the reading. It's light reading and just going through her ppt. Overall her class was great. I learned quite a bit and never had homework. Definitely recommend her.

She has simplified her grading material. There are no papers, only 7 quizzes and the final. Quizzes range from 10 to 20 questions. Must take all quizzes to pass class. She emphasizes reading the book which makes the quizzes extremely easy if you do, but I stopped reading half way through semester and still got A's on all of them just from lecture.

I love Ms. Whittaker, her class is not hard but if you study and keep communication open with her she will definitely help you to understand the material. There are a couple quizzes, 3 papers and and final. The paper isn't hard at all 2pages long if that. She's very caring and has a great attitude and shes very passionate about philosphy.

I really loved her. She always brought a smile to my face during class. CriticalThinking is a class that everyone should have to take every few years. She made the class quite relateable. I kinda wish I could take her class again. If you show up and take notes, you shouldn't get less than an A in this class. It really is quite easy and you do learn

She is wonderful and humorous. Her quizzes kind of difficult if u briefly read the book even w/powerpoint notes she gave so I suggest reading the chapter because the vocab is confusing unless you study. She is very engaged in class & very understanding! If you need help she is there . There are 3 quizzes, 1 final test, a few movie reviews u write.

She is a great, very helpful teacher teacher, and it's not very difficult to get an A. Every test was open note, so copying the notes mindlessly and then bringing them to the next class will get you an A on her tests. She encourages lots of group discussion, which I liked. But overall, a pretty dull class in my opinion.
