Awesome Teacher!
Really great lady. Really understands how you feel as a student, school and stress wise. Gets down to business, no funny stuff and really knows how to help out. Not only a great teacher but someone you could talk to about anything.
By far the best professor you will ever had, and one of the best people you will ever meet.
she's cool
Amazing TA plain and simple. Fair grader, get in her recitations.
Grossman is the best professor I have had in my 3.5 years at the University at Buffalo. She is down to earth, makes the class fun and exciting, and has great real world examples of things covered in class. I wish every professor took a page out of Grossman's teaching method. Exams were MORE than fair, do the reading and go to class and you are set!
I took her because of comments here. Take other TA. She is a tough grader than other 301 TA's. I compared with all my friends who took this class.
Mrs. Grossman is hands down the best Marketing teacher/TA at UB. She makes sure you know the material for tests. If you have an early morning class with her she will wake you up in a heartbeat! Last day of recitation she gives everyone a handshake or a hug at the door. She's one of the very few professors at UB that actually cares!
Excellent teacher and overall great person.
Best professor at UB. Very entertaining. Get her as a recitation professor if you have the opportunity. I'm taking 3 courses with her next semester!
Just took her summer version of the class. Great teacher. Came from the real world of marketing. Translates lectures in terms of real world examples. Very fair, helpful, honest and interesting.
Like everyone says, she is best professor at UB. Shes nice, funny and down to earth. Knows her stuff cuz she was an actual product manager at GE. Not boring, not pretentious at all. Take her as many times as you can.
Great Professor! Highly entertaining lectures with stories of her own personal experience in the field. Easy tests and homework as well.
Best professor at this school. Take as many times as you can, you won't be disappointed!!
What a great professor. Lectures are very clear and to the point. Just attend class and review your notes/powerpoint slides to prepare for tests. Very minimal textbook use. Not needed. She is very funny and is very willing to answer any question. Very fun commercial group project. I wouldn't take her for more than one course a semester tough.
Great professor, very casual with her students. Light work load and the tests were super easy. Highly recommend her for your marketing electives.
She's a good professor, but MGF 402 was a boring class. But it was easy and she made up for the boring material with her charming personality. Only homework was ICP's, which were easy and accounted for a large portion of the final grade. 35% of students got an A this semester. Would recommend her, but not necessarily this class.
Deb Grossman was hands down my favorite professor at UB. I took multiple marketing classes with her because she is amazing. She is so fair and really cares about you getting a good grade in the class. You can joke with her and the material is pretty simple. I love Deb and think anyone who needs to take marketing classes should take them with her!!
Deb is the reason that I looked forward to going to class. She is the reason my undergraduate experience was so enriching and this university is lucky to have all her knowledge, experience, and positive attitude. She truly and genuinely cares for her students and will go out of her way to provide the tools to succeed in and out of the classroom.
Professor Grossman is great! I took her for an honors general business class. She is very nice. She's also funny and has good examples. Presentations are clear and fairly easy to understand. Three tests that weren't bad made up 78% of the grade. 6 homeworks made up 12%. Attendance was 10% so show up and say 5 things during the semester. Take her.
Not going to lie, the lectures are pretty boring at 8am. But she tries to make it as engaging as she can, and it's pretty easy material. She's super nice and funny though! Tests are pretty easy, would definitely recommend, especially for a pre-requisite for the management minor.
she is good for Marketing student because you will learn a lot from her. However, if you are in the lab session or MGm402 because you just need that credit, she may not be the best choice because she is a tough grader
Sometimes the lectures can get boring since it's an early morning class but it's a really good class. Grossman is awesome and is always there for you if you need help. She explains things clearly and her exams are straight from her powerpoints. The material is easy (intro to business) and you should get an easy A. Take this class with Grossman!
Great professor. Her lectures are engaging and full of real world experience. Attendance is not mandatory, but there are 12 random attendances that make up 10% of your grade (she will drop 2). The powerpoints are online but she provides in class examples that clear up almost everything you will learn. Homework is rare and simple when given.
My favorite teacher at UB. She has so much real world experience which is great for students to learn from. A fun, fair, and helpful teacher. I wish I could take her for every class.
Great teacher, very quirky.
Professor Grossman is an amazing teacher who is truly understanding and wants her students to do well. In MGG199(I'm not sure about other classes), she deducts 3 points for every absence without a note, meaning all Lec/Rec are mandatory. But she's an easy grader. It's easy to do well in her class
Debbie really is a gem. She's very quirky, but really cares about her students. She is passionate about her work, and actually has experience in industry (unlike other SOM professors). This class is the easiest class you will take in college. Quizzes are mostly based on things covered in lecture. Participate! It makes her happy. Have fun!
Professor Grossman is definitely one of the best professors at UB. This is a new course for Fall 16, and she's already great at teaching it. Her class is very engaging, she truly cares about her students and gives all the resources you need to succeed, she's also available outside of class. Very down to earth and beautiful lady, would take her again
Debbie is an awful professor who is the most condescending person you will ever meet. Get ready to sit through her awful jokes and stories about her family that COMPLETELY waste your time because attendance is mandatory. She is NOT helpful whatsoever and assigns easy assignments but grades them tougher than anything youve ever seen. DO NOT GET HER.
Professor Grossman was a great professor. She is a fair grader and gives lots or reminders. She is very understanding too. Unfortunately, I was forced into this class as a transfer student. The material was extremely redundant if you have already taken some marketing classes. Class was a huge waste of time & money. Debbie was great though.
She was my only professor who can send 2-3 emails reminding about assignments which is nice. Her lectures are somewhat vague but if you have the course textbook you'll be fine. Pay attention in class since she will put up bonus questions on quizzes and exam (mostly about her family she'd talked in the middle of the lecture)
Easily my favorite professor at UB. She sends out e-mails to remind you when things are due. Very understanding. Going to her class will instantly make you happier because she checks to see how you are and constantly tells you fun jokes.
My favorite teacher. If there is one teacher who will go out of her way for you it is her. She is an amazing lady, and is super caring. Easy class if you just participate. Good lectures, and balanced grading system, which is hard to come by at UB. If you have the chance to take this class, or really any class she teaches, take it.
Debbie is the sweetest professor/teacher I have ever had. She cares so much about her students and their education. If you have a heart you won't be bothered by her jokes and quirkiness. I wouldn't even go to class if she weren't so pleasant early in the morning. Loaded with experience and gives simple quizzes if you do the short readings
feel good
Debbie Grossman is the best.
Sweetest person I have ever met. Fair grader and easy to contact out of class. She actually cares about you and will make that known. If she were a teacher in my major I would take every class of hers.
Very good professor. Only a couple of quizzes and Journal entries and a Final Exam. There is a number of projects that are easy and enjoyable. Textbook reading shows up on quizzes and Final.
Deb is a great teacher and an even better person. This seminar class was a breeze, you basically only need to show up in order 2 succeed. She is so funny too and really reminds me of a motherly figure in the classroom. She goes out of her way to be available for anyone needing helpers well. In fact, I may change my major into SOM because of her!
Attendance to the lecture and recitation is mandatory. A slide that can be gone through in one day can be read over in 5 minutes so most of the class time is just her talking and going off of topic. There are online quizzes where you can just use the online textbook and there is one cumulative final. It is easy to get an A as long as you show up.
No big problem with prof. Grossman all you have to do is show up and be quiet. She did let that ta girl Ashlyn have to much freedom and all she did was yell at the class and would play music in the beginning of class that was very loud and used very offensive language. She just needs to do a better job at managing the environment of the class.
Professor Grossman is fantastic at what she does! She is the perfect person to be welcoming freshman into the school. She really cares about students and her lectures are fun and engaging. For her seminar, attendance was mandatory but she's a very fair grader. Would totally recommend to a friend
Debbie is a gem! She has a quirky personality that not everyone understands, but universally understood as a caring professor. She is easy to talk to outside of class, and I suggest doing so if you come down ill or have any other problems, she is very understanding! She cares a lot about her students, and it shows!
Great prof ever, she care about student a lot, she is nice and funny class was easy and relax, send her a email if you have any problem she will be nice to help. take her if you have chance
Professor Grossman has been the most influential professor I've had at UB. She has actively involved in the school as well as formed personal relationships with students in her class. Her lectures are interactive and she brings a smile to all students face with her charismatic and warm personality. She is incredibly knowledgeable in business!
Great professor who works to know students names and to get to know people.
Deb Grossman is one of my favorite teachers I have ever had. Her level of caring is beyond the level of most high school teachers. This is incredible considering she was teaching in lectures of 100+ students. If you get the opportunity to have her, take her, you will not regret it.
This is such a good professor to have for new freshman. She is super caring for her students. The class is a joke if you do all of your work. She gives tons of examples and relates back to her business career. Take this seminar! Attendance is mandatory.
Best professor I have ever had! Attendance is mandatory but as long as you show up&take notes you will be great. Had 8am class and she's always energetic, funny,& finds ways to connect to the student. Taking notes is very important because it will be on the online quiz/exam. Gives about a week in advance to complete quiz. Strongly recommend!
This was the last semester in my educational career and I'm glad Debbie was one of my professors for it. Only had her for 1 semester and she makes a strong argument for being my favorite teacher of all time. She's funny, truly CARES about her students and puts what is best for you and your future above everything else. Take this class if you can!
She is very easy to work with and reminds you constantly of deadlines with emails. If you just copy notes from class you will do fine on the quizzes. A online textbook is needed but I believe she also explains the readings a little to the point where you can split the cost of the book between friends because she never mentions the readings.
This class is useless
She is wonderful.
Debbie Grossman has lived a cool life, and really wants to share it with her students. She will get you hyped for the next four years. Take her class if you can.
Debbie is a wild ride. She has so much energy for an 8 am class, like how. And make sure she likes you, if she does you'll have an easy time and she'll give you a break, but be disrespectful or lazy and she will email the crap out of you.
One of the best professors in the school of management, but you need to show up and do the work. I can't recommend her enough. If you put effort into the project, you'll get a good grade - don't just phone it in.
Very easy class, found it boring but if you show up it's an easy A.
hella easy, she talks99% aobut her life and 1% about class
She loves her students and loves to talk with you. Very easy grader and not much work is needed to pass. Bare minimum to get a good grade. Open note quizzes and about four homework journal entries throughout the whole semester.
Loves her students and is always willing to talk. Easy course material. As long as attendance and a few short assignments are turned in you should be getting an A. Very accommodating for students with conflicts.
Professor Grossman gives clear instructions on assignments and is really organized on where materials can be obtained. She basically helps you step by step to complete her assignments.
Professor Grossman is the best instructor in UB, she clearly instructs what the assignment is and you'll wish you had her for every course. Best class I ever took.
I love Professor Grossman. The class is so easy. Best choice!
Professor Grossman is such a sweetheart who cares for her students. Although the class was useless, she truly cares and makes things very straightforward and easy. I am ending this class with greater than 100%. Lovely women and a strongly recommend, very easy class. No reading no textbook, one assignment that takes 20mins once a month and 4 quizzes
She's a great teacher who cares for you. The class was super easy, easy A.
very enthusiastic and understanding
Had Grossman for my seminar and she was great, easy A and learned a lot.
The only thing I have to say about Professor Grossman is that I felt like she gave unnecessary work. It was fairly easy but its kinda of annoying when you have other important assignments and doing one of hers gets in the way. She also tends to baby us like if we are in high school, which I kinda didnt like. Very nice and class is very easy.
Only took this class because it was mandatory, but this was one of the most useless and pointless classes ever. It's super easy and we don't even learn any actual material. Professor Grossman is not a very good professor. She's a nice lady but she's really forgetful and often goes off on tangents. I just don't recommend her or this class to anyone.
Super easy class but completely useless. Professor is extremely nice but has a really annoying voice and goes on rants about her own life for way too long. Totally worth to take it to earn easy credit though.
Mrs. Grossman is a great person. On one hand, she treats the class like its a high school class, but at times when my other classes got difficult, I liked that. Grading is very clear and you would have to be trying if you failed this class.
For the seminar class, it was very easy. Does have mandatory attendance though, meaning if you skip you lose points. Easy A.
very easy take this course. Professor is very understanding and kind. Just do the assignments they are basic work
Professor Grossman is the kindest professor I've ever had. She cares so much about her students and really wants them to succeed. Class was easy and moderately interesting.
This woman is an angel. So understanding and helpful. Take her class.
She is super sweet and she helps you transition into college life. I would take her again. If you do your work you can easily get an A.
Although she is a nice person, Professor Grossman doesn't understand how to grade an assignment that is purely based off of personal experience. Thought a writing assignment about my personal life would be an easy 100 and now I am off to a terrible start to her course. She accomplishes nothing during class and talks about the same thing everyday.
Any incoming freshman looking to take a seminar take it with Debbie Grossman. This woman is one of the kindest and caring professors. She helps you with the adjustment from high school to college. She does not act as strict as other professors. Her class is fairly simple just make sure you do take notes during all lectures. The class is an easy A:)
She is a very nice person, but we learned almost nothing course-related. I am very disappointed. Only taught about 4 or 5 lectures spanning the semester. She was frequently absent and brought in guest speakers to discuss the very small amount of course material we covered. Very disorganized and unprofessional.
Professor Grossman was a good professor. All the tests were online and open notes. Attendance matters and uses the old school hand-written attendance, if you are 5 minutes late and do not get to sign your name, you are considered absent (so do not take her 8ams). Homework and assignments were easy. You will have to present in recitation twice.
Take this seminar! It is very easy to pass. Professor Grossman is awesome.
Prof Grossman was very nice, and it was a very easy class. However, for someone that wanted to learn something about CSR, there was really nothing taught in this seminar. Half of the classes were just guest speakers talking about things on campus like the CRC, or the Academic resource center. or the quiz question about UBCS(counseling services) lol
Her class is very straightforward. Her lectures may be a bit boring but she does have good moments of humor.
She is easily one of the best management professors. The UB Seminar is a joke, but she tries to make it enjoyable. Stopping by her office during office hours with questions can be a delightful way to get to know her more.
Had a ton of fun in this class. She does a great job making lectures with boring content entertaining and makes class very engaging.
She is a very nice person, however she is very ineffective as a teacher. For the first 10 weeks she spent 20-30 minutes of class time taking attendance; this is out of a 50 minute class, every MWF. If you want an easy A, I guess take this course, but if you actually want to learn principles of marketing, a diff. professor would be a better idea.
Professor Grossman is one of the best professors I've ever had. She's very understanding and made marketing pretty enjoyable. Her experiences that she talks about in class are very engaging and make the lectures more interesting. If you show up and do the few assignments there are, you will pass. Take her if you can, I can't express that enough.
Love Debbie! She is a relatable, sympathetic, and a genuine professor. She makes this class very manageable and not stressful at ALL. Take her class!
Absolutely amazing person and an even better professor. Nobody likes getting up for a 9am lecture but she makes it worth it. Shes hilarious, tells us everything about whats going on in her life and the class is super easy. The simulation at the end just takes some time and you actually have to do the work. The Project was super fun and very easy.
