She's nice and grades pretty easy but she's a horrible teacher. She reminds me of some last minute substitute that was called out to teach a math class for the day, but really has an English degree or something. Yeah, it's that bad. She sucks.
She isn't mean, but she is a HORRIBLE teacher. In my last two math classes I got A's, but i'm getting a D in her class. She doesn't know how to teach and has missed 10 classes, but students are only allowed to miss 3 or get dropped. Don't take her class!
she's a terrible TEACHER, not person. stats is not a very hard subject but she makes it hard because she can't teach! she's nice but she really needs to choose a different career. she set me back a semester because i didn't pass her stats class.
I'm not quite sure what the other reviewers were thinking, but she is a great teacher. She explains concepts well and doesn't try to trick you on tests. My whole class is taking second semester Cacl with her now.
Throughout the entire semester she probably solved only FIVE differential equations on the board without making a million mistakes. What reason is there to go to class if she can't even explain anything or complete any examples? If taking DE, AVOID HE
She was a very nice person and didn't like to trick people, but I don't think she was good at explaining things. Her tests were not hard; what was on the quizzes was on the tests. But had to self-teach;not easy because the textbook was horribly unhelpful.

She is the most horrid teacher I have had to put up with and if you are a black male skip her class seriously.She makes to many mistakes on the board and her grading is so flip-flopish.And this remark is from a female who is in her class this semester. Save your self the grief take another teacher.
She is dumb, really dumb. She does not know what she is doing, nor does she know math. My high school calculus teacher was much, much, better than her. Very unclear about what and how she explain the materials. She can't even answer all questions asked instead she gives u that idiotic laugh.STUPID!
She was hard to understand. The class would ask her question and she would go around the question. She would laugh for no reason. If you forget something in the problem the whole problem would be wrong. If i were you i would not take her.
She was nice but hard to understand..she made math more difficult for me...she laughed at things that weren't even funny...the class is very boring...not a math teacher i would recommend.
if you want to learn anything in a math class dont take her she seams that she dose not know what she is teaching and it confusses the students, if you want a math class that you play games in then this is the class for you.
She is so cool. She has made my 2nd time around a fun and learning experience. Im passing this time and she has shown us short cuts that my other prof didnt show. I would recommend her completely. She doesnt discriminate she treats everyone the same.homework wasnt bad at all multiples of 3 very easy
It was a joke going to class because she never ever went over homework.The book itself is hard to understand and when you do ask a question,she'll answer it,but not so that you understand it,just to answers your question in her weird explaination,but she still confuses students even more. If you can avoid taking her class,do so. If not,I told u so.
Prof Bryant is very good not hard at all. Explains everything to her students. If you attend class you will pass. Makes learning fun. Tells of her children also especially her 6 yr. old son. Fantastic good teacher

she has no idea whats going on or what she's teaching. her grading makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. its totally impossible to get an A on her tests. hella unorganized, lost two of my tests! her office is a mess. i was lucky to get a C
I had to drop this class in the middle of the semester because she was so hard to understand. She would even refuse to answer questions in the middle of class! Her tests consisted of 2 problems, so if you miss even a part of a problem, you end up with a C. It's impossible to get a good grade on her tests.

...how did she become a teacher? This class didnt require a book- so you can imagine how horrible it was to learn in her class.She would make atleast one mistake on the board once a week if not more and not realize it until the end of class. NEVER AGAIN WILL I TAKE HER NOR SHOULD YOU!!

oh my god this is the worst professor i have ever have in my whole life. who on earth hire this woman to teach math. first of all she don't have a clue on what she is teaching. secondly, she makes these jokes that's not even close to being funny. i drop her class again. i can't stand her.
She never really covers all the info of a chapter in lecture. She doesn't give enough time to finish a chapter's home work assignments. And when asked to cover more of the material in lecture so we can understand the home work before we work on it she replied "Well...you're college students."
She's not really a bad teacher -- she wants you to pass her class and she is available for help if you need it. I think it is more of the subject matter that is the problem. There is no book, and that makes it hard to know what to expect.
her lecture is not good at all ,i agree with that. But she is easy, extremely easy at grading tests and quiz , she willingly take her time to talk with you if u come to her office. that's y i gave her 5 for easy,4 for helpfulness .She does not tell you to read the book, but if you don't , u'll be screwed up and you can be a self or team learner
Ok, she does not explain as clearly as many people want. However, she is very nice inside and outside the classroom. I took the Linear Algebra class and got an A. The secret, read the damn textbook and do the HW!
Awsome teacher. Very helpful, do your homework and show up, if you fail, you are special and need some serious help. Hot very hot, best math teacher ever. Funny jokes too you will be laughing the entire time. giggler made me change my mind about math.
Teacher is very confusing, and more often than not, asking a question will lead to even more confusion. However, she is a very nice teacher, and approachable. Also, if you take Linear Algebra with her, the book is almost as confusing as her. If you can manage to teach yourself the basics, her tests are easy and she isn't too tough of a grader.
I agree. She is nice. She's not harsh on grading. What stinks is the aleks pie that she has the class do. That aleks pie is VERY NOT HELPFUL instead useless. Exactly, if you can teach yourself the materials you can pass the class. She does very little instructing and explaining. Pointless to show up to class
Her class was easy n she she makes cocky jokes. I didn't buy the book n didn't even need it. Her teaching in class was just going over problems from ALEKS everyday. The projects she gave the class was very unclear. If you want to pass this class make sure u do the pie on ALEKS n show up for the exams.

She talks very low and tells lousy sarcastic jokes. She can care less if you understand or not. I took her for math 100 and she passed me although she knew she did not teach me anything. I was not so smart to take her only to falied drastically. full online and wasted in-class time with outdated material. Stop making people unprepared.
She's not very clear. She understands what she's saying, but no one else does. No book, somewhat easy class, you play math games a lot. She means well, but she's not really that helpful. h/w every two weeks, 3 tests and a final, 2 math posters and one paper.
She would introduce topics with the assumption that we have learned it before even through it was new material to many of us. She would get asked questions and not answer them. She also did not state the focus of her class until the end of the semester. So frustrating! Straght A's until it came to her class. She was even late to the final...

I'm not the only one in class who can't stand this prof. She doesn't explain things simply and grades hw based on looking at 3 or 4 problems! would NOT recommend this one ever.
WOW this class was sooo boring and the prof made you feel dumb! she doesnt help you with anything, and if you have a question she will try to make you feel stupid. i didnt learn anything from this class and she doesnt even let you do the problems your way, she wants everything her way, which is confusing. dont EVER take her, this class is HARD!

Worse teacher I have ever had!!! took her for the spring semester. She gives 3 points for all your hard hw then takes points off if something is wrong test are your entire grade do not take this class unless you can teach yourself stats!! Oh and book is extremely unhelpful!
She is a very nice lady but she is one of the worst math teachers I have ever had. I have always gotten A's in math but with her I am struggling for a C. Her lectures are unclear, even if you ask questions. There is little feedback on homework. Tests are also a challenge.
This Professor is TERRIBLE. She doesn't explain the problems well at all and doesn't care that we don't understand the work. Its a terrible class that shouldn't be this hard. DONT TAKE IT!

she loves math, and she''s really a sweet lady, but not a very good teacher AT ALL. Extremely unclear (and clarity is needed for calc). I was always a star student in math, but i'm struggling for a low C in the class. i would suggest taking someone else.
Definitely do not take her class, she is a nice professor and all, but cannot for the life of her teach you Stats. Very unhelpful and no book is used. Everything was self learned, but was not enough to pass her class. Nearly 80% of class was failing... CHOOSE THIS PROFESSOR AT YOUR OWN RISK.
DEFINITELY would not recommend her class. It is a hybrid class (half online, half in class) but she teaches NOTHING! You basically have to learn it all on your own online & she get an attitude when you ask her to clarify something in class. Math is already hard to learn, especially online but she makes it harder. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!
OMG this professor does not know how to teach! dont EVER take her because she will make u feel dumb. she doesnt answer any of your questions and ignores you most of the time. its like shes in her own little world. sge doesnt even let you do the problems ur way, its like she want sstudents to always be confused. dont ever consider taking Bryant.
All the comments are right on, she is terrible at teaching! I am taking her hybrid class and all she does is regurgitate what the useless online application tries to teach, she does not show different methods to approach problems and has it set that her way is the optimal way. Take Phillips if you can and avoid her

If you ask this teacher a question she will make you feel like you are not smart. she has an attitude when answering questions if she even answers it at all. Shes also very rude. The way she teaches is horrible. I would have to go in to the book if i wanted to learn anything at all. Her lecturing is pointless and unclear.
I have never had to do a "rate my professor" review until now.... SHE IS BY FAR THE WORST MATH TEAHER EVER. I have better things to do besides hate on a teacher but I will hopefully be helping other students by not signing up for this class. She makes you feel stupid, does NOT explain material at all. I would like to warn others not to take this professor I need this class to transfer and it has been extremely stressful w/ her as ambiguous teacher she needs to just quit her job
Absolutely the worst teacher ever. She didn't even give us a book to go off of everything was online. That wouldn't be so bad if the website she gave us was reliable. She gets upset whenever you ask her a question and then spends 40 minuts solving her personal computer problems instead of reviewing for the next test (as it said in syllabus).

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS she a coo professor but she shouldn't be teaching at all she's confusing and if you ask her a question about somthing either she will get mad or disregard the whole question and things have to be her way or else its wrong. If this is your last math you have to take DO NOT TAKE HER half my class dropped or was failing.
If you signed up for this class or any class with her as your teacher...drop it.
She's skittish and very rude. If you have any questions I suggest you use the math lab or ask a classmate because she is next to useless at explaining things. She gets upset if you ask a question and may not even answer it. All of the homework is online and the program she uses is about as useless as she is.
This is a Hybrid Course. More than half the work is online and the other half is in class. Hybrid course doesn't work for everyone. However, it works great for me. Her math program has help me understand many things with hours of practice. It had worked great for me and is the only reasons why I have an A. She can get very confusing.
This teacher is extremely lost. She does not come to class prepared. She gets lost when trying to explain the concepts in the book. So if you are looking for a teacher that doesn't explain what she is doing, doesn't have a lesson plan and you are looking to teach yourself Calculus 2, this is the best teacher for you.

She's a friendly teacher, however, her lectures are all via the homework software. She goes through a few problems with the class and that makes up the class. She does not explain concepts well.Her grading is absolutely strict,very fine and pinpoints the rarest things.No notes at all allowed during exam. Weekly Quizzes.Explanations not clear at all
She is a very nice lady. However, she is very confusing and is often side tracked while teaching. Most times it's hard to follow what she's doing.

Teacher assigns HW that is due on Mondays. The quizzes and tests are similar to the HW problems. She sometimes takes problems from the HW and puts it on quizzes/tests. She grades your process. She doesn't require you to simplify your answer which is nice. A week of HW is 10 points. Quiz 10 points ea. 3 tests are 100 points ea, 1 is 75, final is 200
It's really hard to get an A in this class. Been trying really hard to maintain my C. Mess up on one problem on the test and it'll knock almost 2 letter grades off of it. The homework takes a long time and she grades random problems on it. You're going to have to teach yourself. Over 1/4 the class dropped, and I know a few who are on the edge of Cs
Do not take a class with this professor! She is very bad at explaining things and is very insecure causing her to be very rude and condescending towards students. She doesn't answer questions and even laughs at student and gives condescending remarks when question are asked. Grading is very strict. I have been self teaching and hoping to get a C

Weekly hw, discussion boards, quizzes, and other assignments. There are four exams worth 500 points total, so the other assignments help balance out the exams so that a bad score wont totally mess you up. This class is almost 100% learning from the software. Do the work and follow the chapter formats to prepare for the exams and you should be fine.
Instructor does not review the course prior to class, tends to "go with it". Does not clearly explain problems and is unhelpful. Does not allow to use notes for formulas used in course. Online homework is useless, takes too long, and frustrating.
Online Stat Course: She has no confidence. She is unorganize. Her self-written problems are unclear. Sometimes she gives test problems not related to homework nor textbook. Gives assignments and expects them to back in a couple of days. She takes a while to grade assignments and tests. I would not recommend this instructor.
I wish I had looked up Dr. Bryant on rate my professor before I enrolled in her class. Not a good teacher. Uses hawkeyes online learning system for hw which is not user friendly. Tests are nothing like the hw. no study guides are given out for any test. Her explanations are frustrating.
I am writing this prior to taking my final exam. I took the course online, you'll need to: certify the course (lik 5-7 sections each) weekly, write one discussion per week, one quiz per week, one quiz reflection per week, four "format" questions, four exams. She's not helpful, disorganized, and it's just a torture. DON'T TAKE HER.
Worst professor ever. She gets so distracted while teaching and goes on random tangents. She spends an hour on one or two problems from each section, which is not enough to grasp the material. Her tests are nice because she gives you options of which problems to choose, but you won't know how to do any unless you are good a self-teaching
First and foremost, if you do not have the time and is hoping for a quick passing class, DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. This is our outline per week: 1 discussion post and 2 replies. Read a chapter that may consist up to 4+ sections. After each section, you must do a certify plus a chapter review, a "format" (another review) and quiz. Exams 4 chpts
Unfortunately, I had the intentions to pile through all obstacles I encountered during this class and it became outrageously ridiculous. I've cant recall having had a class with more homework or more confusion. The teacher is so incredibly unorganized. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!! 60 students at the start of the semester and less than 10 by halfway.
It is not THAT BAD. I took calc 2 last fall with her and survived with an A! this class will be hard, but calc 2 is the hardest one of all! She might get a little disorganized on her lectures, but tests are similar to her HW and quizzes. Get ready to read your book before and after each lecture. She is really helpful during her office hours.
She lectures but it's confusing and boring. I really didn't pay attention until the last month of the semester. That hurt my grade alot. But I caught up pretty quickly through blood, tears and sweat. Teaches from an online app, no textbook needed. Quizzes every Sunday. Got an B on the final from self studying. Def. formed an outside study group.
Ok so here's the deal, Deborah is a nice lady... But at the same time not a very organized and clear one... The only reason I had received an A was because I had already taken the course and did a lot of at home studying... Tests are basically homework problems so if you do the homework you should do well on tests don't get discouraged by class
I took her and to be honest i think she just didn't want to teach a lower level math. If you actually want to learn math do not take her she.
I'm halfway through this class. I'm by no means bad at Math, but her grading style is SO INCREDIBLY CONFUSING. No clear responses on inquiring emails. she seems like a bit of an airhead. Grades mysteriously change in D2L. I'm terrified I'm going to fail even with LITERALLY spending 4+ hours most days studying & making test quizzes. Please avoid.
I am currently enrolled in her Intermediate algebra class. Algebra itself is easy for me but this class is difficult simply because of the way she grades. It is EXTREMELY confusing. Also, I often don't get replies to her emails or very short answers. Since this is an online class, this is frustrating.
Lectures are unorganized and do not correspond to the homework assignments. Uses online software that is not user friendly. Be prepared to spend at least 4-5 hours a day on homework. Grading system is extremely confusing and unorganized. Tests are completely different from homework assignments. I am good at math but this class is just ridiculous.
Very dry class, hard to understand with her lecture style. She goes very fast and if you don't understand, for the most part you are SOL. Possible to learn if you ask questions but I found myself falling asleep a lot and being detached from class because of how boring and uninteresting. Also you get very little help on the homework.
Don't even bother. I'm serious. Worst professor I've ever had in the whole of my college experience. She is very confusing. Very unorganized. Horrible grading system. Is slow to reply to emails and is yet again confusing in replies. DO NOT TAKE HER. She is nice, but honestly, you will die with the amount of homework she gives.
Please for your sake do not take this professor. Literally ALWAYS behind on grades, graded material is completely useless and the L1, L2, L3 grading system she uses makes NO SENSE. My whole class is confused and not doing well. She does give a lot of retests but the retest material gets so complex to the point that I get angry at my tests.
Here's some of the reason why she got this rating: TONS of homework which you barely take credit for. Grading system is misleading. Barely answers back to emails. Makes you do re-tests but doesn't update the grade because she will lose your paper. Deborah Bryant can be an amazing professor. However, somethings going on with her that idk.
Do not take from her! I love math and usually do very well in, but I failed because she has a point system that requires 100% or you get a zero on your grade. She gives random homework that is confusing and does not help your grade. She also gives test that have questions that have not been gone over.
If I could give a negative rating I would. She is a very nice person but is not a good teacher. It took her until the week before the final to finally upload our grades. Her class is accumulative and her grading system does not make any sense. The quizzes and homework doesn't apply to overall grade, only mini exams. She does not respond to emails.
Do not take Her grading system is weird and makes no sense. She wants questions on the tests answered in a very specific way, even if you get the right answer she will still mark it wrong if it's not done the way she wants it done, Does not reply to emails. Homework and quizzes do not count. Lost one of my tests and then gave me a 0 for it.
Her grading system makes absolutely no sense. I tried several times to communicate with her about how I can do better throughout the whole class. I had no idea what my grades were on most of my tests and Didn't know I wasn't doing well until towards the end of the class. She doesn't post any grades online or respond to any emails.
if you dont finish your homework or even get one question wrong then she literally gives you a zero for the entire homework! no partial credit on tests either and sometimes shell forget to enter your homework or tests into the grade so make sure you keep your stuff in case she loses her grades
Absolutely horrendous. Try to avoid her classes at all costs. Majority of the class dropped (including me). She doesn't grade normally (uses some kind of level system). There were people who got correct answers but since they didn't do it her way they were marked wrong. None of what she teaches makes any sense and I had to basically teach myself.
I struggle with math, so I had a difficult time. I wouldn't say she's the worst teacher out there. Her grading system is a bit strange. It sadly isn't a point based system, but a level system of 1-4 (1 being little understand to 4 having mastered the lesson). She also has a very specific way of how she wants you to solve problems.
Totally would not recommend. She is very picky in how she wants answers on exams and makes it difficult to get the right answer.
I have never had a teacher so bad. When she is "teaching" she just does a problem then expects you to know what she just did without any explanation, it feels like a review class when we're really supposed to be learning. She never answers a question directly, and gives a LOT of homework considering you have to also teach yourself the material.

WORST TEACHER EVER. You have 27 topics you must master if you get anything below 21 you fail the class. She does not explain any of the topics thoroughly and if you do not answer the questions in her way then you will not get a 4 (master 4). Do not take this class.
