The class is straight forward. You will have a group presentation and 10 page group paper. Make sure to do all the HW as it counts for 30% of your grade
VERY STRAIGHT FOREWARD. TESTS ARE NOT TRICKY. EASY TO TALK TO PARTICIPATE AS MUCH ASS POSSIBLE IT HELPS
she's really cool, not a hard class very clear class and explains what is expected in the projects. very helpful.
She is very clear on what it is going to be on the tests. Participaiton is helpful in improving your grade.
She is really clear on what is due and her teaching is clear. Do all the easy hw she gives out and participate because it will help on grade alot. The 10 page report is not hard it just takes time. We also had to do a presentation which was not hard, it took time but it was a fun presentation to do. Overall the class is great.
Great class, learned a lot of useful and practical information. 10 papge group paper wasnt that bad and presentation is kinda fun. Make sure you do the homework being that its most of your grade
she is the worst teacher I have ever had and I will have not clear boring as hell. her test are suck like her
She is the worst teacher i have ever seen. extremely hard exam, confusing explanation, take her class if u wanna fail!
I recommend this teacher!!!!!

Roper is cool b/c she only lectures on whats gonna be on the test..the test is taken straight outta the book..word 4 word. Study the book and ur good! Show up too cause she takes attendance. Shes kinda crazy and spazzy but shes funny and entertaining! good for marketing majors
She talks like a valley girl. She is a bit spazzy too. However, on the bright side her curve made it real easy.
She talks and talks and talks and really does not gives a clear example of what she wants. To pass her class you can do the homework based on the examples in the textbook. You can get A´s and B´s on the assignments, but if you do not participate in class she will give you a C for the course. Her final is really hard.
She talks a lot, tends to ramblee off subject real easy..(Great for killing time). Only talks about things that would be on the test
She is a pretty easy going teacher, don't slack off because it will come back to haunt you in the end.

This is a great teacher. I never had any interest in Marketing whatsoever until taking this course. If I decide to concentrate in Marketing , I would take her again. Don't get me wrong, her class isn't a breeze, but her attitude toward the subject and real life examples, makes the class interesting. Do all the work, and you should be fine.
a Great Teacher! I lover her upbeat attitude. She explains the course material very well, however she doesn't provide any study guide whatsoever. As long as you come to class, participate, do all the assignments and group papers you will do fine. She grades on a curve too! Highly Reccommended!
Yes, Prof Roper grades on the curve. However dont let that fool you. Her lectures are very dry and she does nothing to get your attention as a student. The tests that she gave out more than half of my class failed . My advice: Take another teacher.
This teacher is smart, helpful, tells you what she expects from you, and does not give a lot of work. Her tests are not that easy but with a bit of common sense you can pass them. Don't be discouraged to take this class or BUS COM with her. She is a great teacher and you will learn a lot from her class.
Grades on a curve, and tests are straight from the text. Attending class is a must, anything she says in class is fair game for the test. Few assignments are due, but the cases take some work (use as much vocab as you can) - get in a good group for the cases. She is very fair, and states exactly what is expected. You'll get the grade you earn.
She is an alright teacher. She does not give study guides. Must pay attention to her lectures. Must read the book to get good grades on her tests. Lectures are boring at times.
Not that bad. She has a syllabus with a schedule & she does not deviate from it, even if she gets behind its your responsibility. Word of advise, buy the book!!! go to class & highlight everything in the book that she lectures on. She structures her lectures entirely on the book so just highlight whats in the book that she talks about & study that
One of the wackiest instructors on campus. Extremely liberal, watch how you write cuz she will mark you down for conservative papers. Easy class, do the homework, exams are mostly take-home. Has a "cooky" personality. If she reads this, she really needs to work on her apperance. Very sloppy attire, nappy hair, needs to look more presentable!!
Down to earth professor. Do a lot of group work and I had lame team members so she'll adjust your grade accordingly. Take notes and review what notes you have to the book and then you'll do fine on the exams. Sometimes she went spastic on her lectures but other than that it's a good class to take.
Her test are based on her lectures, you must go to class in order to know what will be on the test. Her test are easy, but she uses question that seem to have more than one right answer.
At first I wasn't sure about her, but as the class went on she began to make sense. She does pick your writing over, but it helps. If you get in a horrible group, she will adjust the grade accordingly. I would take her for another class.
Very picky, opioninated, Very hard grader if want to struggle with a bunch of work take her.
Professor is extremely clear on what she expects and very good at conveying the task she assigns for homework. She grades hard but you learn a lot from her. I enjoyed sitting in class and interacting with her and other students. I recommend her highly for sure.
AVOID!HORRIBLE "communications" professor. Ditzy, clumsy and VERY UNCLEAR about EVERYTHING! EXTREMELY UNFAIR grading system! Shes very rude and always talks bad about CSUDH which is very rude and insulting. If you are a good student you will find this professor dreadful! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
great teacher! She tells students what is expected & is up 2 you 2 do it! I took her for mkt 350 & 353 & learned a lot!About the case analysis...its about a page per question. Dont "BS" it! Take your time to do them! This will help your grade! Attend to class everytime & PARTICIPATE!!! A MUST!!!
Very, very boring and dull professor. Seems a bit opinionated. Tacky dresser, and lectures horrible, only about 2% when she attempts to lecture. is on her exams. you would learn more online. Do yourself a favor and get another professor.
Worst teacher at CSUDH. Makes you hate business. Plays favorites. Doesn't show any interest in teaching and shouldn't be teaching. Don't recommend.
Tough at first. She can be helpful if you ask a question. The work load was high but not very hard. You have two big projects due at the end. Very strict on editing your papers. Will deduct points for little things so proofread everything! The book is a must. The tests are open book because they are from the book.
The 3rd day in class she was about 5 minutes in to the reading the chapter before someone the class informed her that she was in the wrong chapter. She lectures straight from the book and the tests are the same way(Test bank) couple Midterms 1 final with 3 group case studies and a extra credit for bringing in a new marketing technique.
Previously Deborah Rhopper. She's an easy teacher as long as you take a lot of notes and keep up with her lectures. She just lectures which means that you're going to have to do some studying on your own for a good grade. She lets students give their own opinions during class discus. T/F & Mult. Choice tests, 3-Grouped Case Analyses, plus Ex.Cr.
Professor Roper was excellent. She was very clear about the expectations for the class. The grading for the homework may seem strict, but as long as you proofread your work it's no problem. Buying the textbook is a must. As all the homework and test material will be from the textbook.
I had this professor a few summer's ago and I regretted it almost immediately. It is difficult to understand what she really expects from students and constantly goes off on irrelevant tangents during her lectures. I advise avoiding her if possible.
Avoid this professor if you can, unless you want to study on your own. Listening her lecture is not gonna help you on the test. You have to do 3 Group-case studies and 4 assignments, and 4 exams.
Easy "A" just follow the syllabus and pretend to be involved in her tangents for participation points. I suspect her exams were written by textbook publishing company.
Dr. Casanova's class is very challenging but she will help you to raise your grade up. 3 group projects, 4 tests, 4 assignments, and you can get up to 30 point extra credit. Do all of your work and come to class because that can easily raise your grade up.
she literally expects everything to be perfect and she doesn't explain each assignment until AFTER you've already passed it in and shes graded it. AVOID IF YOU CAN
Avoid if you can. I am not a "C" student, but I got a "C" in this classes. I learned nothing from this classes. Exams are hard, 3 case studies- you have to write 5 pages for each case, one essay at the first week of the class. I also had bad experience with my group for case studies. I suffered from this class.
TAKE THIS CLASS! You learn a lot in this class. She will explain anything multiple times if someone doesn't get it. Everything is curved, so do not worry too much about your grade. ALWAYS DO HOMEWORK. Tests are open book, open note, open phone, open anything. Report assignment is super easy; mainly she focuses on the format not content.
She's not "hard" but she does leave ALOT of work. Be prepared to have an assignment due every class meeting. Attendance is mandatory. She gives tests often but you can use your book, notes, or anything. The book is essential for the class.
Although this is the last of bus300, she is a very interesting teacher. At first, I thought she was too nitpicky and very strict. I later learned a lot from her, with her very practical way of teaching. I kind of wish I worked harder in the beginning, because she is a very strict grader. She really gets you to get your papers right.
She is very strict in grammar, especially when it comes to your cases and homework. Her test can be a little confusing, and it is not open book. the only thing i like is that she is very informative.
she does not play games. 3 cases which is done in groups. Strict grader, and strict when grading papers for grammar. You learn a lot in her class and she knows what she is teaching. Overall its a college course so don't expect a free ride.
All around, her class is entertaining; she's very informational. However, she is scattered when it comes to what she wants from you. She proofreads EVERYTHING you write. When she's telling you what she wants, she is scatter-brained- I mean her thoughts aren't relayed as clearly as she may see them in her head. She is strict when it comes to grading
She is too vague and strict with her grading. I haven't even finished this class yet and I just had to write on here. She is awful. Too harsh of a grader and rambles on and on. Must read the book or you won't pass.
I am also taking her class currently. I have never had so much trouble with one teacher before. She is always late, lectures are not helpful for passing the tests, is so rude talking to students, and is a harsh grader. I read the chapters in the book 4-5 times and still am struggling on passing this class. Avoid taking her. This will hurt your GPA.
Good luck figuring out how to please this one. Impossible. I'm an A student, but she gave me a B. She seems to hate life because she's always snappy and rude to students. She gets flustered. I saw her trip over the front podium and the school sent people to check her out. Drama queen.
she tough to please as a teacher. I never missed a class, did all the assignments, test, and participated because I read the reviews. after taking her class I must say the reviews are right avoid if you can.
I have taken Prof. Casanova in the past and trust me it doesn't change. You better go to every class, be able to work in groups, and have to deal with having to figure out exactly what it is she wants you to do because she isn't very clear with assignments.
She is not a great professor. I personally, do not dislike her because of how hard she is. I am more upset about the fact she does not care about any of her students and she is very rude and gets mad when people ask for help. She also tends to grade too hard and does not care if you fail. Attendance is a must in order to pass. Avoid her if you can.
Prof Casanova lacks enthusiasm for the subject and is unclear about assignments. Countless times did students ask for help in class and did not provide any. Harsh grader as well. Will mark off a bunch of points for the slightest errors on your papers. Take this course with another professor.
horrible professor her lecture were useless, assignment were confusing and top of that she is a tough grader avoid her like the plague take another professor.
Professor Casanova dose not care about her students learning how to do the work. She has other students grading your letters, and resumes expecting you to make changes to base on your peers advice which is not accurate. Once you submit you letter she gives you a final grade without any chance to make corrections. Worst first year experience was her
I was surprise by her "teaching style." I enjoyed her lectures and real life information she provided, but when it comes to assignments you need to read her mind to understand what she is looking for. She wants everything in a certain format, that she does not explain. Seriously, choose another Teacher, and enjoy the subject.
3 group cases,5 hw and 4 tests. She doesn't explain how she wants you to answer questions. Don't take her. She is a hard grader and expects people to participate. Late to class and is annoyed by certain things. Hardly any extra credit. Make sure to attend class and read the chapters!
Hard grader, make sure you do good in every assignment
Long lectures, likes to hear herself speak. Her exams have nothing to do with her lectures most of it is from the book. She also is biased when it comes to grading her case studies. If its not the answer she wants, its wrong even if the answer is right. Do yourself a favor and skip this professor.
Let me first say that she is a very smart woman. But, her grading is just ridiculous and very strict. It is to the point where you hear and see the whole class gasping in frustration and anger for their grades. I have taken her in 4 different classes. Marketing classes- not such a hard grader. Business classes- VERY strict, do not take her in them.
If you want to pass you must rely heavily on your book, and not her lectures. She is an extremely harsh grader, denies help to students upon being asked, and vaguely scripts the exam questions, making it impossible to pass. In the nicest way possible, she's kind of a mess. But at least you can get away with being late because she is late everyday.
She is a very tough grader. Took her for Business Writing & barely passed. Yes the book helps a lot but if you don't write exactly what she wants & how she wants, you'll have a hard time. Just pay attention to the small details that she wants and you'll be fine.
She is a challenging, but fair professor. Her assignments are simple: 3 group essays, some 1-2 pg hw responses, and multiple choice exams on textbook chapters. Her final is not cumulative. For people who thinks she's difficult or mean, they should read her syllabus. She has very specific instructions on how assignments should be done. Grow up.
She uploads instructions online but will not further explain them verbally; Does not like to repeat herself; Vague instructions are given for the midterm & final; Will not answer any questions regarding those instructions; Seems to be the least passionate about this course specifically. However, she does offer 3 extra credit opportunities of 5pts.
Don't take this course before BUS 302 since she uses foundation for group projects and final. Online instructions are posted on BB; without them you will not know what to do since she only briefly explains them. Be prepared to speak in front of class, but don't worry, it's no biggie. Docks points for any little thing, so do reread instructions.
Absolutely stay away from her. Most of the time late for class. Can be very unprofessional but a little bit funny. She does not respond to emails, so you better ask for someone's number in that class.
STAY AWAY! This course is worth one unit... its five weeks long so its sped up. I took this exact course at community college 2 semesters ago and i passed with an A. Show up to class listen to her complain about what her professional life was like. She grades on a "curve" and then laughs and says shes a tough picky grader. If you pass your lucky
She is just plain mean. Ask a question if you didn't understand her directions or her explanation and she treats you like you are inferior and stupid. Very disrespectful teacher that makes students grade nearly every paper so you get 0 professional feedback before turning in. She complains about her job constantly and is just rude.
I took her for Business 302 (first part) and Business 301 (second part) this Fall. While the class is tough, here are some pros and cons about Casanova. Pros: She gives 21 points worth of extra credit; grades on a curve; and allows you to use your textbook for the exams. Cons: In writing assignments, she is strict on the writing structure.
The first day of class she was really intimidating. BUT don't let that fool you. This class is easy. The test questions are all material she mentioned in the lectures. If she doesn't mention it in class you don't need to read or study that part. The hardest part is your group writing assignments, because group work stinks.
This Professor is very straight forward, she tells you what she expects from you. I found that showing up to every single class helped me in my grade better than those who chose to skip out every week. You need the book for assignments, and the one test you have is open book. It is easy if you just do the work.
Horrible experience. All of her assignment's rubrics are vague. She literally spends most of her teaching time complaining about how she hates her job. She continuously criticizes the book so sometimes using the book as a resource is no help. Deducts point for any little thing. Don't bother asking her for help.
Professor Casanova is very straight to the point and tells you exactly what is expected in writing assignments. Just follow every single direction she gives and you'll do fine. Make sure to proof read essays and resumes as she will deduct a couple points for minor mistakes. Overall she uses relative examples and gives good lectures.
While she isn't the easiest, this class is very realistic to how the real world will be. She gives informative lectures and pushes you to do your best. She just wants you to succeed and I think that's why this class is tough. The harder the teacher is usually the one who have helped me succeed in my career the most! take her if you was to learn!
Professor Casanova is the WORST! She complains about everything! This whole class was presentations and then she makes you print 30 pages of rubrics just to grade your other classmates. She always forgets what she says/ does. She says she did one thing but in reality she never did. Do not take her, youll regret it!
She start the class by saying she hates her job, and tells you that no one will get a perfect score on any presentation because you would need to be a professional for that. She just sets the mood for failure throughout the whole semester. Also does not lecture so you have to read the book and teach yourself.
Worst teacher I've ever had. no clear instructions on assignments, says things that make no sense and are offensive. I have no idea why she is still a professor at this school
After the first assignment she wont explain any of the rest and only gives out vagues instructions. This class is 5 weeks only and there is very little time to actually learn, and only get thrown assignments each class session.
Dont waste your time here! Please dont take this Professor if you need to pass this class. She doesnt explain the assignments and her grading is ridiculous! She told the whole class we pretty much failed. You might as well not waste your time doing the assignments. She literally gave students 2/40 on the assignments!
Whiny professor that has zero motivation to teach. She's taught the same bland class for however many years that she literally begins to scribble the format outline because it makes sense in her head rather than yours. Imagine having a math teacher teaching you how to solve a problem doing the math in their head; that's Deborah.
She explains the course and the assignments that are going to be done in the next 5 weeks. Pay attention to the syllabus and due dates because she won't remind you unless someone brings it up. She's a hard grader and will deduct points every time you show up late.
Students need to pay attention to the syllabus and be ever mindful of due dates. Pay very close attention to key terms and key information and you more than likely will get above C. If you want to learn you have to very attentive to key information she puts in lecture. If you want to be a disciplined listener this is a good class to take.
I would not advise enrolling in ANY of the classes this instructor teaches! She is a VERY TOUGH GRADER for a 1 unit class! Unbelievable. Too stressful! Do yourself a BIG favor a take someone else! Trust me!
harsh grader, the class is only worth 1 unit and she will literally mark you down 1 point for every little mistake you make. she's the worst professor ever. its only a 5 week course, why are you going to grade students so harshly for a class worth only 1 unit. she's insane. avoid this class if you can, you'll be doing yourself a favor.
A horrible instructor! DO NOT TAKE HER! wasted energy and time. Grades heavily for just a 1 unit class. Who does that? Unbelievable. She has issues..... If you want drama take her you will get plenty of it! No time for drama, take someone else! I don't see how the University still has her employed there. OMG.....
She was a great overall professor. I was hesitant to take the class after reading all these reviews, however, everything was on the syllabus. She mentions how it's very important to read the chapters in the book but I didn't even have to purchase it. She is a very tough grader though; will mark off points for any little thing such as grammar errors
Well, all I'm going to say is that if you want to pass this course DON"T TAKE THIS COURSE with this professor! Ahhh she's horrible! Grades very heavy for a 1 unit course. She whines and is not energetic at all. Boring! Do yourself a favor and take another instructor. Too much drama.
