Mrs. Edward's is ALWAYS there to help and is excellent and explaining any problems and teaching several ways to solve the same type of problem so that everyone finds a way that they understand best to solve every problem! DEFINITELY TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU GET THE CHANCE!
Great teacher. sometimes she doesnt go over the material completely so when you look at your homework it looks like spanish but overall a great math teacher.
Great Teacher and very helpful. If you fail, its your fault.
Great professor. Very easy going and easy to get along with, she explains everything very well and makes you feel comfortable asking questions if you don't understand something. Take her.
horrible. would not take her again. im a 4.0 student and made a "c" in her class. for a precalc class, the test averages were never higher than a 70 and quizzes were worse. she makes her quizzes rediculously hard cuz we are able to use our notes...no doesnt help one bit, and i wrote down everything. would not recommend.
Very, very good teacher. I would personally reccomend her. She explains many ways to complete each problem.
Mrs. Edwards is incredible. I am sad i cant take MA112 with her. She really cares about all of us and takes her time to help her students. I failed this class last semester with a different teacher and now have a B. I managed to get an 85% on the test i previously got a 20% on. It is all thanks to her, and I am grateful.
Good teacher. Not hard as long as you keep up and do your homework.
She's a great person. Very funny and nice. However, she assigns a LOT of homework and isn't the best at keeping the classes attention. Her study guides are very lengthy and unless you do all 200 questions they aren't very helpful. She's very willing to offer extra help.
mrs. edwards was nice and all but she was teaching to very experienced students and forgot about the kids who had not had math in a year. she didnt offer too much help outside of class i guess bc we have tutoring available on campus for free. on our first test i think 4 people passed? out of 30 or so.
My whole education career, i have hated math. Ms Edwards completely changed that. Not only do I understand the material, i actually enjoy going to class
Ms. Edwards...What can I say? Homework is heavy but for good reason. Practice makes perfect. I make fewer mistakes now than I did when we started. She an excellent teacher and is very willing to help so you can understand what?s going on. Tests are not easy, but not hard either. Just study and follow her methods for studying because they do help.
its only been two weeks but seems to be an awesome teacherand she is verry clear with the meterail. I normaly hate math and prior math classes drag but class is over b4 I know it. A fair amount of home work about 125+ problems a week
WHAT I COULD SAY ABOUT HER IS SHE IS VERY HELPFUL, GOOD LOOKING, IF YOU DO THE HOMEWORK YOU'LL PASS ALL QUIEZZES ..........SHE HELPS YOU EVEN IN HER LUNCH HOURS.........SHE IS THE BEST FOR MA006........FINALLY, FINAL EXAM IS MUH EASIER THAN ANY QUIEZZ OR EVEN HOMEWORK.........
This teacher is excellent for MA111. She explains and blueprints every example in a manner everyone understands. If you do homework and ask questions, you'll do great in her class.
I love her class. She is a fun teacher to teach math. She knows how to teach and if you don't understand, she does not mind helping at all. Don't be shy, she'll like you. She loves math. She loves questions when you don't understand. She isn't judgmental at all. Overall, I'd take her class again or go to her for help when in another MA class.
Awesome teacher
Explains stuff very well homework not too bad
Class wasn't bad, got kind of hard at the end and didn't explain things well. Great professor overall though.
I believe math was always one of my weakest areas, and I didn't do too well in high school math, so I was surprised that I ended up with a B in her class. She is very helpful and has a passion for teaching.
Unless you want it as a supplementary learning aid, you will most likely not need the textbook.
Statistics in a tough course - this school is truly lucky to have such an awesome professor teaching it. Prof. Edwards will literally help you with ANYTHING.. she's a really friendly person and encourages you to come by during office hours. Course gets very tough at end so you must study and get extra help when required. Take her for sure.
I had four math classes in Riddle, this class is the hardest one! The material is kind of easy, but the professor makes it much harder. Some professors give you partial credit if you show your world, however, she will take partial credit! She is not clear about assignments, and project. You will always end up missing something!
Professor Edwards is not just a mathematician, she is also an educator so she is really good at knowing when people are lost and is good at explaining things so that everyone can understand. You are allowed to use your notes on all of the quizzes and all of the formulas are given on the tests. She also has a good sense of humor...
Great way of explaining math that i have always had difficulty with. Blew my mind with new and easier ways of solving problems.
Professor Edwards is such a sweet lady! She is very helpful and clear about what she expects. Quizzes and assignments are due on Thursdays, but she always goes over 2 homework problems. A couple of tests and a final. She's always open to explain if you need help. No book!
loves assignments, hates giving extra credit. very helpful when seeking her out.
Dr. Edwards is an amazing teacher. She is always available to help, either during her office hours or by e-mail. Just make sure you are paying attention during class.
Best math teacher I have ever had in my life. Made math simple and easy. Make sure you take notes and do your homework. I loved how her test were easier than the HW, rather then the other way around. Glad I'm taking her next semester in business statistics. GREAT PROFESSOR!!
she made the class harder than it would be.....
Very hard teacher. Homework every week.
Best math teacher I have ever had. She almost always has another way to look at a problem to understand it and is not picky on how yous choose to do the problem so long as you can do it properly. She does not make you show your work but gives you partial credit if you did show it and got the problem wrong.
Professor Edwards is a great teacher. Always shows up with a sense of humor. I've never taken a math class where the teacher was able to explain material so well! Would definitely recommend her to anyone. Take good notes, and you'll be able to pass her tests/class.
Dr. Edwards was simply the best math teacher I have ever had. I believe some of her PHD work included the study of how math is learned therefore she has extensive knowledge of multiple effective methods to teach each lesson. She is hilarious, very approachable and always willing to help.
Professor Edwards is the best math professor I have ever had. She makes sure the class understands everything before giving a quiz or a test. Make sure you do the homework to further your understanding and keep your grade high! Always ask questions; she will always answer them no matter how simple or difficult. Pay attention and you will pass.
Professor Edwards is a wonderful teacher. Her lectures are super easy to follow and she'll answer any question you have and throughly explain it. Quizzes are open notes and tests aren't too difficult. Aleks online program is a large part of the coursework instead of homework, and it's not fun but better than a worksheet.
Prof Edwards is great! She teaches really well and wont stop explaining until you get it. Shes very patient with her students and always willing to stay behind after class if you need assistance. She likes giving a lot of homework assignments but hey do really well in those cause if you fail an exam atleast you assignment grades pull up your score.
You need to pay close attention and practice A LOT to get a good grade on the tests and quizzes. Don't wait until the last minute to ask questions; raise your hand if you don't understand something. Make sure to turn in the homework on time!
Dr. Edwards is an amazing Professor. She really enjoys giving class, I like that she lets us hear music during tests so we can relax. I do recommend her for MA class but beware if you don't study for her tests you won't pass
While there is alot of online homework with pearsons, she gives excellent in class instruction and gives alooot of feedback. She will let you come by her office to ask any questions and even gives time in class to get homework help. A great personality and alot of fun and super sweet :)
Very easy class as long as you pay attention in lecture, ask for help, and do the homework. Only had 3 exams and 4-5 quizzes, so do well in the beginning that way you won't have to make up for it in the end.
The teacher is amazing, she describes the roots of all the math rules not just gives them to you and tells you to apply them for no reason. The only thing that I hate is that she gives problems on the tests or quizzes that have nothing to do with the notes examples and practice problems!
She is one of the best Mathematics teacher, that I have ever had. Strongly recommend her!!!
Dr. Edwards is the best professor ever. She is definitely professional on teaching. She always explain everything in a understandable way.
Love her so much
She is the best math teacher I have ever had. She gave me not only knowledge but also the confidence to do math. She is professional and inspirational.
She is good at teaching and if possible I wish her can be my only professor
Dr. Edwards class is fun and exciting. Students can always learn in a easy environment. She is always enthusiastic and I can tell that the whole class love her. If possible, I highly recommend Dr. Edwards' class.
Great teacher. Gets the job done
The absolute best math teacher and perhaps Professor I have ever had. Explains math in a way that makes it understandable. If you have any qualms or anxiety about taking a math class and want to finally understand how to do math, this professor is the one you want to go with
Professor Edwards in unbelievably knowledgeable and kind. She is genuinely the best TEACHER Ive ever had, she just simply knows how to teach effectively and efficiently. Definitely one of my favorite professors ever. TAKE HER!!
She describes everything very well and if you have questions about certain things, she will explain them to you in a different way. She is THE one to take because she also is (at the time of writing this) the head of the MA111 course.
Tough grading, hard to understand sometimes. Youre going to need to go to tutoring and ask for help.
Since this class is Pre-calculus, most of the work was done on Aleks. Even though most of the work is online, she gives a lot of help to those who ask for it. She is a cool teacher and I would highly recommend her class. Very chill just make sure you dont fall behind.
Very nice professor, majority of the class is on ALEKS (online learning program), lectures are mostly going over most missed questions on homework. Requires work shown for tests.
She's really funny and way more than qualified to teach pre-calc. I am personally not taking her again for calculus because her way of teaching just is not for me. She is an amazing teacher, always excited for class, and MORE than welcome to help anytime you need it.
Deb has a poor teaching quality, she will do problems without explaining anything and expect you to know what she is doing. Luckily i have taken this math prior to even showing up to ERAU so passing was not difficult, but beware this is 2 math classes in one. Mandatory tutor hours are required and count towards your grade. Even if you have 100%
Good teacher. Responsive to student questions.
Cancelled class and didn't send out an email until 5 minutes beforehand several times. CONSTANTLY changing assignment due dates. Refused to wear mask during peak of pandemic. Went on 20 minute anti-vax "COVID-was-engineered" conspiracy rant in class about how it's pointless to wear masks or get vaccinated. Writes math examples in cursive. Avoid.
Professor Lavallee is an amazing teacher that shows how simple math can be and how easy the equations can be shown. She also has provided support when you need help and has understood when you are having a hard time. Overall if you are currently taking class with her you are in good hands.
Taking MA241 for the spring semester, Prof. Lavallee has a confusing method of explaining math, and if you have any prior experience in calculus she will expect you to follow her methods even if you have easier or better methods of understanding. Gives weekly quizzes, and if you miss 1 class period she will drop your grade by almost a letter point.
This professor is okay. She's a decent professor, however, I feel like her teaching method is not for everyone. It certainly is not for me. The teaching method of this professor is much so like an AP High School teacher. Weekly quizzes with two questions, one can be anything from any type of math. This tanks your grade. Would not take again.
Lavallee is a nice person, but her teaching style didn't fir everyone. If you have taken Pre-Calc before you should be fine. However, if you haven't you might struggle.
(I'm in 242) Very note-heavy with a lot of examples. She's always willing to help students, and she clearly states the content you are required to know for quizzes/tests. Grading can be a bit harsh IMO, but it's a challenging class so it's expected.
Prof. Lavallee was more than willing to give out feedback and meetup at selected times to go over questions or concerns. The mandatory required lectures made it very easy to work around these tough assignments and were filled with examples that were used on hw assignments and quizzes/exams
Great professor all around. I really enjoyed her class. She was more than willing to help students in any way, and always took the time to explain the material so every student could understand. Couldn't recommend her enough!
Took MA 242, but not an option with rating. Professor Lavallee was all in all a pretty good prof. I enjoyed the format of her lectures; she would cover new material and then do a few examples. There were weekly quizzes during recitation period, but she would tell you exactly what to expect. I would recommend taking one of her sections.
She is fantastic! 242 is hard but she makes calc fun to learn and does lots of in class examples. Never felt the urge to skip class. She also makes an effort to interact with the class and get to know you personally. One of my favorite professors at ERAU.
Had her for 241 and loved her so much I took her again for 242. Did not disappoint! Great at explaining and always willing to help individuals. Tests aren't too bad, neither are the quizzes, as long as you pay attention in class. HW helps pad your grade which is very nice. Love her sense of humor!
Dr. Lavallee is an awesome amazing professor. I took MA 241 with her and she is great at breaking down every single concept. She is a great teacher for whatever skill level but I highly recommend taking her class if you have never done any calculus before. She always makes sure that the students know what they are doing and is kind and engaging.
Lavallee is a great professor. She is great at teaching and I was able to pick everything up pretty easily. A quiz every week but she tells you what's on it. But she drops the 2 lowest out of the 12 you take and pretty much gives the answers to the test from the study guide. Super energetic and engaging. 10/10 would recommend.
Most fun math professor I've ever taken. Test reviews are extremely comprehensive and tests were identical to test review problems. She's also very funny which rounds out a great class.
Always engaging during lectures. Shes easy to follow during learning and if there's any confusion she'll stop and make sure you can get it. Just follow the study guides and the test will be a breeze. 1 quiz a week (easy tho).
She is amazing, it was her first time teaching Calc 3 and I had the best time. Her lectures were clear, ask as many questions as you want and she will answer. Otherwise her office hours are great, you can go and check all of the HWs get the correct answers and processes.
I absolutely LOVED Dr. Lavallee's class. She was so fun and funny and kept her lectures engaging and entertaining. Her teaching style tends to assume you have a basic idea of the material already so I can see her class being more difficult for those with no priror knowledge. Overall an amazing professor and one I hope to get to have again.
After you meet her, you can tell she cares a lot about you. The homework and quiz will be harder than the test. If you have a question, feel free to ask, she encourages that. You can feel her passion about teaching math.
I have taken Dr. Lavallee for two classes. She is one of, if not the best, professor that I have taken. The way she teaches makes it so easy to understand, absorb, and recall the information. Her lectures are amazing and she is so accessible outside of class. She truly wants you to understand the material. I can not recommend her enough.
One of the best math professors I have had. She can be a little rude sometimes but the way she teaches makes it's a lot easier to understand the content. She doesn't rush through the lecture so you can follow along easily.
Difficult class if you fall behind. Tons of online homework, she is willing to open it up for you though. No set note outlines, just equations off of her head.
Mini quizzes every week. Gives no notes or anything, just lectures.
Lavallee is a very nice professor and is clear about what she teaches and what she needs us to know. She is open to questions as well. Homework and Quizzes are on Pearson and thus are a little more difficult than the classwork, but if you can do those well, then you can easily ace her exams. Would recommend for anyone taking MA112.
Very engaging and has a clear way of teaching the course. Will take the time to explain again if you are stuck. Very funny and easy to listen to. Class does have a lot of outside work so just make sure you stay on top of that.
Amazing professor, she cares a lot about what she teaches. I did well in the class until the end of the semester. I struggle with math, and she was able to make it understandable. The first 2 exams were good, but the last exam and final were very difficult. However, if you show up, pay attention, take notes, and do the homework, you'll be good!
