A&P is not easy but she makes it interesting and puts forth the effort to enhance lecture with videos. Lab tests were fill in the blank (I prefer matching or a word bank). Study hard and be consistent. It's all in the book! She gives a little extra credit but not enough to be significant.
Not all info tested on is covered in class
She gives you all the materials you need-powerpoints, videos, online activities, extra lab time, tables and pictures in the book. You just have to committ to studying outside of class and paying attention in class. Her tests are thorough-a little bit of everything. She's fun though and very nice. Great teacher as long as you study.
Very nice lady but we are students NOT scientists!
Dr Miller is very helpful inside and out of class. All of my emails to her were replied to within an hour. She puts forth effort to be prepared for class. I got an A, but it took 12 plus hours per week and 24 plus hours/week during test weeks of studying. I think that is said for every AP class though.
Dr. Miller is a very great professor. She is very informative and loves what she teaches. She is very flexible and provides several media options for students to study. If someone does not pass her class that jus means they didnt apply themselves.
Dr. Miller is a great teacher as long as you put forth the effort and are serious about learning. She does not put up with nonsense and does NOT allow cheating (BTW, if you cheat in this class you should change your major!) Very nice and extremely helpful!!
Dr. Miller went over all material during her lecture, which lasted about two hours, after which she'll declare lab time where she only really answered questions. She enjoys using portions of class talking about her family, and will find a way to relate the anatomy of your kidney to a story about her dog. Good natured and willing answer questions.
Dr. Miller is awesome! I had her for both BIO 2113 & 2214. You must study and keep on top of everything, but she is ALWAYS available to clarify, and give help. All emails are answered promptly, she allowed us to make videos and put them on YOUTUBE for extra studying. She incorporates funny stories when lecturing that breaks up the monotony.AWESOME!
Good teacher, just a hard class! So much to learn in just a short time span. You normally have a week to learn 3 chapters, and whatever labs you are going over in class. Even when doing the best you can do , it is still hard to get a passing grade. Will be retaking this class during semesters so it won't be as fast paced.
2113 and 2114, Very nice and her lectures are extremely helpful, BUT..she is very unorganized when it comes to Lab. There were times that she would tell us not to worry about something but then end up putting it in the lab exam. Also DO NOT trust her videos she post on Angel, some of the info is incorrect! I advise to take class by itself!
Dr. Miller is a good teacher and presents the material in a clear manner. It is up to YOU to put in at least 15 hours a week of study time and to show up for labs. Reading and understanding lecture material will help you pass this course with a B as well as doing lab and OPEN labs; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I had Dr. Miller for BIO2113 and now for BIO2114. Durning bio2113 I was totally stressed out. @ first I blamed it on her, as she was a hard teacher, but in reality SHE IS GREAT, PPT'S PERFECT! I took two other classes and just didn't have the time to put in for the course- to memorize it all, but this quarter I have one other class and stress free.
Brilliant woman with an equally brilliant talent for teaching. A lovely sense of humor which is absolutely appreciated in such a rigorous course! The work is hard, but after this class, you will be able to name every single solitary name, function, and location of everything in your body! Very handy Jeopardy info =)j/k
AWESOME TEACHER!!! For those of you who are pursuing a degree in healthcare/health sciences....know that the pre-req classes are designed to weed out the weak links. You MUST STUDY and do WELL in this class. It is an extreme amount of material but Dr. Miller does an amazing job in presenting and teaching the information...the rest is up to YOU!
She is a great teacher that really wants you to learn and will do everything in her power to help you. Her class is not easy and requires a lot of studying but it is all in the book and her power points. If you study hard you will succeed.
I had Dr. Miller for A&P I&II. She was great. Some think she is hard. I think blunt would be a better word. Clear, up front, and honest. All good things. Even at 8Am it was not hard to pay attention. Very, very funny lady as well! She understands A&P through and through, and it shows. If you really want to learn A&P, you are in good hands.
Very nice lady and knowledgeable about the subject but will not return test grades in a timely manner.
I really enjoyed having her as my lab professor. She understands the material she is teaching and seems to enjoy it. Very helpful. Very strict grading. No word banks on exams. Study, Study, Study, and you will pass.
Lab class at Paulding: Dr. Miller is very knowledgeable but will let you do alot of it on your own unless you ask her for help. Some students felt she was unapprochable but I didn't care because I needed to know the answers. Has a funny sense of humor. YOU MUST STUDY UR TUSH off for this class. NEVER Textbook heavy. I enjoyed her. Got a B. STUDY!!
Lecture: Definitely Make or Break class. Lost over 1/2 ppl. Dr. Miller knows her stuff. She did her best with the A&P Lec being offered in the summer and for that I appreciate her. There's no short cuts around this class it is what it is. Get with some dependable ppl and study outside of class. Shes the only prof I would take at Pauld. Grade C :-(
Great Professor! Attend the lectures, record them and listen to them when you can. Also you must study but she can teach A&P. If you need help she will help you.
People said Dr. Miller was hard but A&P is just hard. Dr. Miller was the best instructor. She was always willing to help if you did not understand a topic. She always replies to emails and grades exams quickly. She is a great professor and if you put in the hard work required for this course you will pass with a good grade
Dr. Miller is a great teacher. She lets you know up front that this is a rigorous class and it is, but if you study and read the text you will have no problem. You get out what you put in. She is also very quick to grade tests and always available for students.
She is such a great instructor and totally understandable. I have took her for most of my biology classes and passed. You won't find a better instructor for biology but this incredible woman! Loved all of her classes even though they were extremely tough courses.
Despite the horror stories of this professor that were floating around my campus, Dr. Miller is a great professor! Anatomy is hard no matter where you take it. I think her sense of humor is misinterpreted sometimes. She's helpful with questions, explanations, and actually teaches, unlike some other professors who just go through the power points.
Dr. Miller is a great A and P professor. She is knowledgable and funny her classes are better than most I have taken. She is helpful and will assist if you ask espeically during office hours. Her tests are straight forward and she gives you lots of resources to help you study. Reading the chapters and doing the work are a MUST but worth it.
This woman knows her material but she's hard. Would let you do the home works on Mastering A&P but when it comes to exams she doesn't use the Q's on Mastering A&P. She sets her own exam and it's very difficult to pass. The Q's are hard to understand and none of the Q's from the home work appears on her exam. I had to withdraw from the class.
Don't take any of her classes. Labslearn it for yourself her own personal grading e-mailing time, she says you can ask questions, sure, if you want rude answers, and the impression that you're interrupting her personal time. Lecturesher rushing through pre-made PPt's and moving on to the next subjects prior to her administering a units test.
Very challenging course but A&P is evil overall. Dr. Miller, however, is funny and smart. I don't know why she has so many complaints because I found her to be a wonderful professor. She tells you what to study for in your chapters online. Don't be a slacker, pay attention to what she emphasis on in class and you should be fine.
Lectures can be confusing due to her speech slurs. Can't answer questions certain students ask. Very quick review over chapters.
Knowledgeable woman, however, her tests are extremely difficult.
Dr. Miller is an awesome person, but her lectures are incredibly long. Although she knows what she's talking about, the material is VERY difficult and if you don't read, study, and do the MAP homework, you will NOT pass. Studying has never been so essential for me until this class.
Coming from 2113 with a different teacher who basically spoon fed her students, she was a huge shock when she basically forced you to learn on your own. She showed you what you needed to know, but most of the class time was the students looking at histology and memorizing parts; not my favorite way of learning.
Dr. Miller is a tough instructor. Her tests are hard, and she gives NO extra credit. Get ready to work your butt off if you want an A.
Do not take this class. Find another professor. Dr. Miller doesn't go over what you're going to see on the test and her lab is insanely difficult!!!
Hard, but I'd take her all over again. Learned a lot!
Do not make eye contact, turn off your phone, do all the study modules and only answer questions that you know are 100% correct. Just spare yourself and take someone else if possible.
Don't expect to waltz through this class and pass. This class was quite difficult, but Dr. Miller was a great professor. Does she expect a lot? Yes. Is she unreasonable? No. You'll have to study your gluteals off, but getting an A is entirely possible. Just study the slides like crazy, ask if you need help, and devote plenty of time to studying.
I really enjoyed Dr. Millers class, I had her for BIOL 2113 twice and also took her BIOL 2114 class. Anatomy is a hard class no matter who you have, she doesnt give a lot of extra credit but if you really study the matrials she gives you, an A is completely possible. If your a good student and are willing to apply yourself I reccomend her 100%
Dr. Miller is the BEST Anatomy and Physiology professor at this school. I really enjoyed taking her for A&P 1. She genuinely cares for her students and honestly this subject is hard but she is understanding. Don't be afraid to ask questions (especially in lecture). The only way you won't pass is if you don't try.
I think everyone in my class loved Dr. Miller. Her tests were difficult, but A&P is intense material and you've got to study a lot. She made the material interesting and relevant. I was able to get into her A&P 2 class and am really looking forward to it. If you want an "A", be prepared to work for it.
Dr. Miller is an awesome professor for Anatomy & Physiology II. She covers all the information that will be on your exams in her lecture and lab. Her exams are hard but fair. Dr. Miller is always willing to help and is accessible outside of class. She has a great sense of humor and keeps the class interesting.
Dr. Miller lectures a lot, but does her best to make it interesting using real examples (after all it is A&P). You can tell she has a passion for teaching. Make sure to have good study habits i n place (she does not assign homework). She does give you the info you need to be successful at the beginning of the semester, no surprises at test time.
This was the hardest class I have ever taken but Dr. Miller was a great professor. A&P is hard no matter what. Textbook is helpful for reference and some students read it but I mostly studied the power point and lecture notes. Study HARD and you will do well. She was very helpful in answering questions and making lecture interesting.
I wish I had taken Dr. Miller for my lecture as well. She's really interested in Anatomy and loves to show you things personally. She loves it when you participate, plus it helps you too! her quizzes/tests are super difficult, but there is no wiggle room for misspelling things. Know your stuff! She'll help you if you ask, so ask questions!!
I had to take BIO2114 for summer semester and because there are so few choices for professors during this time I had to take a chance and take Dr. Miller's class. All I have to say is I am so glad I did. I loved her! She is funny and she definitely knows her stuff. The class itself is hard and you do need to study but she is there to help you.
I had Dr. Miller last semester for A&P 1. She has a great personality and I respect her alot. She is very funny during lectures, which are enjoyable. That said, she is EXTREMELY difficult, more so than other teachers. I studied more for her class than I have ever done in my life and came away with a B, and felt fortunate for getting that.
I had Dr. Miller for A&P II as well as lab. She is a good teacher and does a nice job teaching the material as opposed to just reading from the power points. It is a really tough class with a ton to learn but she is approachable and keeps the class pretty fun. In lab you are mostly on your own but she is happy to answer any questions.
Hardest class alone because of the material but her lectures made anything click for me if that makes sense. Bombed 3rd out of 4 exams given & the final so failed the class by .3 points & she didnt round up. She can sometimes be snarky. Again, you only get 4 exams amd the final. She may give you 2 5pt bonus asgmnts but thats it. Retook and got a B
She is average, I got my high B from online videos and from studying, studying & studying. She gives you a basic foundation for the material but of course the exams aren't just basic questions. If you want to get a good grade you really have to put in time. I do love anatomy and I did learn in some new things.
Dr. Miller is great. I had her for 2113/2114/2114L. DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK! Its free online. You do need to buy the lab manual. She offers every study material you need to pass, you just need to use them. Lecture classes are only grades on four tests and the final, so make sure you study. Lab has more grades but the mid and final are worth 60%.
Shes horrible. Do yourself a favor and find somebody else! She doesnt give any feedback, help you understand better, or correct you. She just sits down and is not even protecting her face exposing herself for covid. You have learn everything on your own but you cant ask peers for help either even during classtime bc thats cheating like what?!
This was such a confusing class and lectures were soooo boring. I would not take her again. She is also not helpful at all. She is really not the best teacher for this class. I was so lost in her class, I fail. I took the same class with another teacher and got an A.
She literally posted recordings of her old class and never held class once. She isn't readily available to help or answer questions. You have to make a webex appointment that is scheduled for a week later. You are also only graded on 4 tests and a final. That is all. She is my least favorite professor I've ever had.
She kicked me out of class for having torn shoes. like sorry i cant find the money to afford new ones. but we werent even doing anything in lab. all we do is read notes we never got to experiment or do hands on activity. it was a waste taking her when other teachers did labs regardless of covid
Anatomy is no easy subject but Dr. Miller truly tries and you'll regret not taking her! She makes lectures clear and never looks down upon you when you ask questions. Responds to emails quickly, and overall just a great personality! Show up for class and pay attention, and if you're taking lab STUDY THE MODELS
I think shes a great professor. She gives some extra credit for lecture classes and her grading is straight forward. I really like her. I recommend her class. AP2 is all about how much effort and time you put into it to learn it so if you do bad its on you not her!
She is a good professor! I took her lecture and lab. If you put in effort and time to learn the material youll do good in both! I recommend her class.
I found Dr. Miller average. Her class was not too hard as long as you studied. She wasn't very helpful and I didn't feel like she ever wanted to be there. However, there was plenty of open lab time and her expectations were straightforward. I wouldn't take her again because I think there are better professors available.
Professor Miller is a good professor. Her lab class is very easy, open book (online) quizzes and homeworks and a mid-term & final in class. Her lecture class is a bit tough only because it's only quizzes and a final no homework. She gives extra credit assignments sometimes, but you have to be in class to get an extra 5 points on your next quiz.
She is a terrible professor, She does not like to help students. She is very snarky. She talks bad about students.
As difficult A&P is, Dr Miller does a good job at preparing us for the tests. She is really knowledgeable and does review the content the week before tests. Her tests are worded clearly and consistent with the powerpoints provided. The bonus assignments are also great!
The only way to to pass is to figure out what the tests are giving you. Ignore about 60% of the lab list. I sacrificed my heath to find out most of what I learned wasn't on any test. Pre/post labs are much harder than actual exams. Exams only ask to identify and name parts. Lectures in class don't add much. You won't use the lab manual, save $50.
Took this class online in summer, and it was humbling. This class took a lot of time and I spent hours every day reviewing her lectures and the book. All lectures were recorded and uploaded, the textbook is free, and she responded quickly and kindly to emails. Difficult class that requires a lot of energy, make sure you have time to dedicate to it
I took this class during the summer and it was HARD.I do wish that she provided us with a study guide for the tests because there is so much information in each chapter. She did give extra credit on the tests in lecture, which did help. She does go off topic during lectures which I feel like can make it confusing.
Dr miller is not approachable, , she is rude and asking a question is hard. i would not recommend her lab classes, but her class is informative and average.
Dr. Miller is great! A&P2 is TOUGH. You have to devote a LOT of time to study - no way around that. It's a lot of material to learn, and she gave us everything we needed to succeed, it just depends on how much you do at home. She is very funny and really knows her stuff. She is tough and is very clear on what she expects from you. She is very fair!
I took Dr. Miller for 2114 lecture. It was online. I'm usually pretty good online. However, this is not what I expected. The syllabus was extremely basic. You had no clue what was going to be on the test. You only have 4 exams and a final. So you better be perfect lol. She gave us one extra credit assignment that was worth 5 points.
Good luck. I took her during summer semester, so I already expected it to be difficult. She did not respond to emails for a minimum of two weeks (in an accelerated class!). One day she posted an exam that was not dated in the syllabus, and gave one day to complete. Can tell she does not care about students at all.
Very few bonus points. She teaches very broadly and nonspecific. She makes her own exams but teaches directly off the university-provided powerpoint.
She is very rude and goes over nothing on the test. I still got a B because I self taught myself basically. I would never take her if I were you. Save yourself
Be prepared to teach yourself 100% of what's one the book and good luck figuring out what's on the exams . Broad lectures , skips through PowerPoints back and fourth messes up a lot while explaining . She's no help whatsoever . Doesn't care about sudents . Very conceited
She did call herself satan during lecture class for a reason .
Dr. Miller had 4 grades for the entire semester, with no extra credit. The class average is a 68% and the highest grade I am aware of for the last test was a C. I made an appointment to go over my first test and she double booked and rushed me out. She rarely does anything helpful in lab either. I feel sorry for future students.
Teacher doesn't care about her students at all. Makes you feel stupid and not capable of a future career in healthcare. Good luck figuring out what's on her tests. She makes them extremely difficult on purpose. She is the worst professor I've ever had. She can't even teach well and can't answer questions if you ask them. Don't take her class.
I barely made it out of her class with a 79.6. She will ridicule students for asking "ignorant" questions, making her unapproachable. She does not allow the final exam grade to boost any lower test scores; there are only four tests and a final total. Her tests are so difficult, and most of the material isn't covered in the resources she provides.
This professor doesn't care about her students succeeding at all. She doesn't give extra credit at all , you can't make up any test that you missed. She doesn't really teach like a teacher should. But I guess this is what you get when your teacher is a Chiropractor.
Dr. Miller was very rude and unapproachable. She did not care if you passed or failed in fact I think she found joy in failing people. There are 4 exams and a final that determine your grade no grade padding what so ever. If you ask a question she won't know the answer, and good luck following her train of thought during her lectures!
During class, the professor often looks to the side instead of the camera, which is a bit distracting and makes it harder to concentrate. It would be more engaging if he maintained eye contact with the students.
She's very straightforward. If you study and go to class she respects the effort. Don't be shy to ask questions. She does care a lot. Some questions on exams weirdly worded but if you actually take the hours to study and care about the class you will do very well. I loved her so much and appreciated her love for the course. Don't count her out.
Her teaching style is very simple and straightforward. She does her part so if you do yours, you will do just fine. The test are 100% from the slideshows and textbook (StudyMate is helpful). It is a tough class in general, but she cares and wants to see you succeed. Attendance isn't mandatory, but makes a huge difference.
Dr. Miller is the most chill and caring professor I've met. I have taken this class at anther institution and I never thought I'd ever pass until I joined her class. She tells all you need to know for upcoming tests. If you study hard & apply all resources on Blackboard, you will pass. This class is mainly self study, pay attention to lectures too!
