Teacher was very helpful and patient! Good class.
She is extremely clear and intelligent. The class is relatively easy if you do the homeworks and pay attention. She explains better than any math teacher I've had. She asks everyone if you understand before she moves on. I would recommend her. She has a few projects which help boost your grade if you are struggling on the exams.
She is incredibly hard. Test are even harder. Marks the smallest mistakes. Although she gave an extra credit test after the test, but it was only because the whole class failed. She is kind of hard to understand cause she uses alot of stat terms expecting us to know the already. I withdrew, hopefully will find someone better. Stay Away!
I'm fine with an instructor being hard, but the fact that she rushes you because she's either behind or whatever is just ridiculous. Her tests are hard and the fact that she only gave an extra credit test because everyone failed waves a red flag. Not recommended unless you're already familiar with the subject. I withdrew just before the deadline.

She should n't teach period. thats not the way you teach a higher math class.She rushs everything your coping notes and she is moved on. You don't know to copy notes or lesson to here introducing next concept.Examples in class are different in the test its like she makes them so hard to confuse you. Professor is nice but very tough on grading. She will take off points for the smallest mistake on the test. She rushed through the notes because she was behind. It was very difficult to follow especially when she was racing through class to finish her lecture. I do not reccomend taking her class.
I agree that she graded very hard. She took off points for some ridiculous errors, such as wording!! The tests were very hard and long. I would not recommend this professor.
i thought she was a great teacher.she goes at a very fast rate but explains it in a way that i think makes sense. you will get behind by missing classes, not doing the math XL homework and not asking questions when you have them. i would definitely take her again.
The class is ridiculously hard, she rushes the material and give out hard tests! Anyone taking math classes in the future....please stay away from her! Don't get me wrong, she is nice but just not a nice professor.

Take her if you know that you will not miss a class and write fast. Her quizzes count her a large portion of the overall grade. quizzes are worth 20, 16 and sometimes 10 points and cannot be made up. and she sometimes puts them on blackboard and informs the last second.
I liked this class. Statistics is hard but Mrs. Nasseri did a great job at breaking the challenging material into manageable pieces. Her explanations connected the mathematical formulas with practical examples. She was so dedicated to make us learn that she was willing to explain step by step the entire process. Of course, I got an A!
She is awful! She rushes through material and her tests and quizzes are nothing like what she teaches also when you ask questions she doesn't know how to explain in a different way. Plus you have 3 mini-tab projects but she never shows you how to do it she just tells you to print out useless instructions she made. Good Luck if your stuck with her!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Always answers questions in class, doesn't make you feel dumb, stays after class to help you, lots of study guides and extra credit opportunities. She really wants all her students to get good grades. TAKE HER! SHE ROCKS!!!!!!

She may come off as mean, but she's actually very nice. She's very helpful during and outside of class. She'll help you when you need it. She does go through material fast but will slow down for those who need it. She gives study guides and pop quizzes. As long as you keep up with the hw and study the material you should be fine.
Very difficult class. Very few kids got an A or B in my class, and she is extremely fast paced. Avoid her if you aren't the best at math.
Great Instructor! I had taken this class three times unsuccessfully, but Nasseri got me through it....show up for class on time, do h/w, and ask questions. Wish she taught pre-calc!!!
Don't take this teacher. She makes the class harder than it really is. Taking Statistics at vcu right now and I have an A. she forces you to remember all formulas which really isn't needed. STAY AWAY!!
Prof Nasseri is a really nice person , thats it. She rushes on to the material just because shes behind?. Math requires a lot of practice a. u wont learned it unless u practice it! u wont learn from one test and couple of exercises and class. She is nice and all but she rushes through things and her test are harder than what we are actually learning. She uses ALL the class time trying to get through AT LEAST 3 sections per chapter. I don't recommend her if you don't take notes and if you can't write as fast. She gives take home tests /quizzes sometimes.
She goes veryy fast. She swears the material we're learning is REALLY fun. She makes Statistics harder than it is. If u have a question about clarifying something she trys to push your question off to the side. Avoid this professor at all cost!!!!!!!

This lady is truly brilliant. I have never had a professor as helpful as she is. Mrs. Nasseri is strict on all her policies in the syllabus. She gives very detailed notes in class, but her tests are very difficult, so you definitely have to put forth some studying. She DOES give practice tests though.
do not take her class. this teacher never replied to emails, very little participation, class is very monotonous. your grade is basically 3 test, 2 assignemts and a final. we only used the book in class. te material was very hard, Dr. Nasseri rushes through it. expect to take notes all class, every class. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this professor at all. It's not difficult to learn the material if your best frinds with the textbook, but its difficult to absorb her teaching methods as the semester moves on. Look for another professor.
She is a very good teacher. She does a good job presenting and teaching the information. Her tests are a little difficult, but she is very helpful and willing to go out of her way for students. If the class does poorly she will curve or give make-up/extra credit work. Very good teacher.
She is a nice person but the way she teaches makes it hard to learn. It is 100% note taking off the board, and she doesnt really make it easy to understand. Very boring to sit through.
She writes ALL her notes on the board, do NOT miss class. She has 3 test and one CUMULATIVE final and 3 excel assignments. She's pretty easy, just make sure you take notes. No hw.

Statistics is not easy. Professor Nasseri is kind and does her best to review & write notes for EVERYTHING, but she starts class early & rushes to cover everything at the end. She admits to being a difficult grader. She is. She's eager to help but struggles to make difficult concepts understandable to students. Not bad teacher if no other options.

She knows STATS but her goal is to reach a certain chapter in the textbook regardless of whether or not anyone understands the material. Most people failed every test and the highest grade on the last test was a 72. She rushes in class and doesn't answer emails for days if at all. Take anyone else! I like Math but she makes it difficult.

this teacher is the worst math teacher you could ever have in the world. she is very unorganized and rushes through class as though she has some sort of deadline for every class. almost everyone in my class failed and the rest dropped the class earlier. never take her you will FAIL!!!!!
The online class is pretty straightforward. The course content was not extremely difficult either. Nasseri was helpful, and quick to respond to emails. I would recommend her online class to anyone

Ignore bad rates. She is a GOOD teacher! If you do the homework online at My Math Lab(very helpful) you will do well. Im a bad student who didnt try until the end of the semester but when i finally did the homework and did a bit of studying i aced the next test. do the homework before you go over the sectiion in class and itll help you out so much.
Great professor. Took her online MTH 157 course this semester. She is very quick to respond to emails and posts grades in a timely fashion. Always deals fairly and impartially with students and truly cares about students' learning. The class is challenging and demanding, but I would recommend this course to anyone who is willing to work hard!
Most of the homework was done online through MyStatLab. She assigns a lot of work, and covers a lot of material very rapidly. It can be overwhelming. More than half my class dropped out early. She actually is a great teacher, though, and will take time in class to explain everything until you understand it. Hard subject, good teacher.

Hard subject, fine teacher. Took things very slowly at the beginning because the class was not prepared. This caused her to have to speed up towards the end, and that hurt. The MathLab is very helpful, figure out all that it can do and you'll be very pleased. The reason that people dropped was because they couldn't handle the subject.
She is a really sweet teacher. She explains step by step and makes sure you understand everything. She's not strict at all with coming to class late. She is very chill. She gives easy tests and everything we do in class is what comes on it
Do not take this professor. I took the class because I needed to fill a time slot and I read the reviews here and had a good feeling because of the high RateMyProfessor score but no, she is not good. Her way of teaching is very fast and most people failed the test. A 60% class average on each test tells you a lot about the teacher. Don't do it man.
Great teacher i took her for MTT. She was helpful and patient. My only problem was the format of the MTT course. She was great, office hours, staying after class and explaining.

Don't take this class if you want to keep a good GPA. The average grade in my class was C. We started the class with almost 30 students and end up with I think 14 students. However, not all of them passed the class. She does not care if you understand the material, she cares more about teach all the material on time.
I got an F , her exams was impossible. The class was horrible nobody could understand anything. Studying from the hw will be useless because she will make everything different and even if you forget to put a circle in the right answer that you put, she will take points off, please avoid her
I hated the fact that we had to buy My Math Lab but that thing SAVED my grade. No matter how clear-cut she is with her explanations, it's math and you will NEED practice or you'll forget so don't blame her if you're not doing well. She is so sweet and not at all strict about being late for class. I just took notes, did hw on my math lab, and ta da.
First class I have ever failed. Hardest exams I have ever taken and Nasseri doesn't care if you pass or not. You can see her in her office hours where she will go over quizzes and tests with you by simply reading the questions and the right answer and then moves on. Not much of a help. Only thing graded was the exams and quizzes. DO NOT TAKE HER.

This subject was hard me and she didn't make it any easier. She's a nice person but a strict teacher. You can't use your calculator for most things. The way she solves problems is often confusing. She doesn't really take attendance but she gives pop quizzes so you really have to show up to pass. Homework is through MyMathLab and takes awhile to do
I took this class online and it was very... eh. The textbook and videos linked to taught us how to do everything on the calculator, which is great, except that the exams then asked to you do a step-by-step using tables (one of which wasn't even provided in the formula packet). I'm a 4.0 student, but I stressed a lot about this class- it was hard.
I do not recommend taking her class. She makes you write 3 pages of noted each class and she does not stop to take a break from writing. Her tests are hard and if you miss a class you will fail. She does not teach at all.

Connected with my learning style, and she writes everything on the board for extensive note-taking which is helpful when studying for tests. But she will not budge with her deadlines. I had family in the hospital and she refused to let me take an exam I missed, which condemned my grade, and no matter how much I begged she didn't care. No xcredit
If you want to receive a C as your highest grade possible in Math, I recommend her. If you want to succeed at NOVA, I wouldn't even speak or recommend this professor. We went from a class of 30 plus people to around 15 likely less. Reason why is she rushes her lectures and her example problems is quickly done with little to none explanations.

She is a great professor and will help you understand the material if you're willing to put time after class. DEFINITELY ask plenty of questions, do ALL the homework and go to ALL the lectures if you want to pass. Its definitely not a class for slackers.
Honestly worst professor I have ever I had. I usually get As in all of my classes, so I withdraw from her class because I couldn't afford an F on my transcript. She uses mystatlab, so there is a lot of homework. Her practice exams didn't even help. Exam were impossible. Seriously would not recommend this professor.

This class was a bit of a pain and Im not bad at math. Mystatlab is helpful but it takes up time. She graded easily on the discussion posts but the 3 proctored exams sucked, so unpredictable. Be prepared to answer written questions, multiple choice and finding the value. Learn to do everything on the calculator. She answers email very quickly.
Ms. Nasseri was continually rude, difficult to work with a terrible communicator and all around bad teacher. I have been a straight A student at Northern VA Community College for 3 years and she is the worst teacher I have ever had.
Do not take her class. She talks at you, not to you, and she doesn't teach. Almost her entire statistics class just completely failed a test and she's not doing anything about it. She assigns "statcrunch" homework but doesn't show her students how to use it, so every fails the homework every time. Do not take her class.
I have a GPA of 3.8 and I failed this class HARD. She expects you to know things you dont. She gives StatCrunch homework but never actually explains how to do it. I got a 16% on one of my assignments. No NOT take this class. It is a waste of time, energy and will destroy your GPA
She is disorganized, uninspired, often clueless on the questions on certain subjects. Assignments have no breathing space which caused my grade to suffer. Pearson is brutal to work with. She accepts zero late work. The midterm is lazy. Teach yourself and you can do well, otherwise its a no win scenario. Though she is nice about arriving late.
95% of my class failed, I think that says a lot. Her lectures are right off the textbook. NO EXPLANATION. paid $80 for the access code. If you would ask her a question she would brush it off, she didn't know how to answer. Only 4 people showed up for the final. NO EXTRA CREDIT, NO DROPPING LOWEST TEST GRADE Shes nice but NOPE.

On test 2, all of the class got below a 70% and she blamed us? Bless her heart, this woman is nice enough, but she can't teach well. Be prepared to teach yourself literally everything.

Took her for MTH 161 thinking the ratings weren't as bad as they said, I played myself. DO NOT waste your time and take her class trust me you'll regret it. She speeds through material and I tries to cram everything into a test when there is no time to review the material during class. The class average on the first test was a 45%..

She gives you way too much homework for example, she gave us a StatCrunch homework worth 100 points, two quizzes worth 50 points each, 6 mymathlab homework all due in my week! Dont take her!

Do not take her class, she does not curve and gives impossible amount of homework (up to 40 hrs a week), does not accept work a second late, does not communicate. brother got in car accident so I couldn't submit something on time, "F". Doesn't help you learn if you're confused. exam averages: 38.4, 46.8, 34.9, and 30.4. she failed the whole class.
This professor does not know how to teach nor communicate with her students. I wasn't able to come the day after thanksgiving break for a test since I had the flu, so she gave me an F with no make ups. Class average for each tests was always well below 50% each time and always blames the students and doesn't take responsibility.
assigned 7 HWs,project, 2 quiz, and exam due same day REGULARLY. Speeds past things in class, wipes off board before you can write anything down, replies to attempted answers with a "no." and moves on. Statcrunch is impossible, she doesnt make it clear what she's grading on or show you how to do it. she canceled 5 classes but grades attendance.
Worst Professor is an understatement! 35 to 10 to 7 and only 3 passed she can't even do the work she teaches and makes it hard so you fail doesn't care about anyone I had an engineer help me with a take-home test because the class avg was so LOW!!! This professor is terrible. The classes seem to just be her talking to the board and not to the students. Almost everyone in the class is failing and she seems to not care. With the midterm we took the mean score was a 35 out of 140. Its sad that she is still a professor because she really isnt good at teaching the students.
DO NOT TAKE HER. She literally does not care if you fail. It was supposed to be my last semester taking a math course and she made it impossible. Our entire class failed her course. She does not provide any feedback and grades super harshly. She also takes her time to get your grades in. My grades in all my other classes were A's except this one!!
No extra credit, no late work, 55% of our grade is resting on the midterm and final. Based on the reaction, we didn't do well on the midterm, but we don't have time to go over it, nor do we get to keep them. She talks about practicing like a language, then leaves us to do most of it ourselves in class. My brother is the one teaching me, not her. :(

Would be better suited to teach higher level statistics, she does not seem to grasp that for most of her students this is their last math class. Very knowledgeable in mathematics but she is not able to effectively teach it. No makeups (Even for midterms if you have covid), no late work, and apparently no passing either. Second time taking stats.
Let's just say, before taking this professor I thought there was no such thing as a bad teacher. I clawed my way through, studying non-stop, meeting tutors, and meeting her during her office hours. She is an incredibly harsh grader who claims she "grades work too" (which is not true.) No feedback, no empathy, tests were worth 75% of the grade.
I'm sorry but Nasseri is the worst professor I have ever taken. Harsh grader and every exam, the average is a 50 or below. There is no extra credit, no retakes, and really no chances to pass this class if you take it with her. I don't know if she holds hatred in her heart or relishes that students fail her class. She gives absolutely zero credit for partially correct answers, no make up opportunities or extra credit ever. This class was a real challenge, but using unstuck AI alongside the provided resources really helped me get through it. The professor's teaching style takes some adjusting, but if you stay engaged, you can succeed.
even if it's your last resort don't take her. ur better off waiting till next semester. has confusing deadlines. will make the due date for an assignment a specific day but then also makes an “announcement” saying that it's due before the actual due date and when you try arguing ur side she will just say no to giving u the credit. just stay away.
