The teacher has really showed me many great things that really I could put to use at work. She is very helpful and willing to assist the class. Helpful professor, extremely easy class if you dont pass with an A you probably have never turned on a computer. Book isn't necessary, tests can be completed in 15 mins. Attendance is mandatory because it helps your grade and if you are ahead in your work you can even get a day off and she wont mark it as abscent. Shes awesome, highly recommend her

I took her class not knowing too much about computers and she was able to make them seem more fun to work with. The lessons were always online and can be done in class. She's always there to help make sure you understand the material(online work). Unless you absolutely blow off going to class and never do any of the work, you should get an A.

I think she gets good reviews because she is awfully nice, she really is sweet. However, this class makes so much more sense as an online class, there's no reason to show up when you do all assignments online. But, she is nice and loves to talk about anything. Website is a PAIN and tests are super rushed, wish that was different.

Sit next to someone you see yourself talking to in case you need help. She is big on helping others and being helped by others. Although she is always there for you she is swamped by a load of questions so it might take some time before she can get to you. The attendance isn't necessarily mandatory. But it is important to show up when she shows so. Just do the work. Like it's not that much work or even complicated. Super easy class to pass. One of the most caring professors I've come across at MDC. She really wants her students to have a good learning experience and has their best interest at heart. If you can read a list of instructions and follow them, you should have no trouble with the assignments. Highly recommended. If she taught other courses I would sign up right away!

I have been at mdc part time for five years and I never had a professor like her ! Wonderful wonderful ! Not only learning about basic computer skills but things that help you in day to day life . Dr. Rivers is one of the best Professors at Miami Dade College. This course requires alot of your effort to complete the assignments, but Dr. Rivers provides provides a learning environment that will lead to your success. Took this class on Saturday's at 8 in the morning. At first I dreaded having to get up so early on a Saturday, but with Dr. Rivers it's definitely worth it. Not only, does she know how to teach, but she makes the class very enjoyable. She's extremely witty and sweet to the core. If you don't pass this class, then you're an absolute dummy.

You don't need a book but you need the code that comes with the book. She is not only a great professor but a great person. Helpful, caring, it is easy to talk to her. Pay attention, be on time, don't miss class and do your part in class and she will do everything in her power to help you pass.

This class is absolute cake. You don't even need to show up to live sessions. Just follow the pacing guide for the homework (almost all on itlab) and you'll get an A.
