A train wreck of a teacher. Personal appearance is sub par.Humor is above average, however. Intelligence is above average too.Her attendence is poor, her explanations are poor and her organization is hideous.Take another teacher if you have an option. Also, she is condescending towards non Yalies.

Very brilhant but can not teach a class without confusion. Very slow coverign the chapters if any .... and hard ... hard exams ....

i had to take this class for university requirement and ended up taking it with this nutcase. im not just some average student ****ing because i had to do some work. this class is not worth the hassle and the stress. she is a horrible teacher. dont take her if you are not taking this class for your major.

omg bad class. i had to go to my dad for help because she always cancelled classes and alot of stuff would be on the quizes she gave. she would be like the reason why you got a bad grade is because you didn't pay attention in class....umm excuse you we never had class! and i failed this class ugg. avoid at all costs.

She is awful! This class was for my major and I have A's and B's in all my other classes but apparently I did horrible in her class, not that I know for sure b/c SHE NEVER GAVE ANY WORK BACK! She also barely showed up. When she did show up she talked about pot and her kids. Not economics! No Syllabus, no sense of time. DO NOT TAKE HER!

This is the worst professor i ever had. She gives weekly quizes that are NOTHING like what she talks about in class and all she talks about is her son. if you were to give me a test on him i would get an A+. 70% of my class FAILED including me which i'm a A student AND i went to class EVERY DAY and ALL her office hours. 2nd worst prof. at southern. Naramunchi is the worst but she is a close second. Do not take this class at all cost.

Misses classes frequently. Class time is a waste, few pertinent topics are reviewed, and the tests are extremely difficult. She IS NOT a case of a challenging prof who lazy students hate. Rather, she does nothing to prepare students to succeed. I have had her more than once, and aside from her groupies, everyone will agree that she's flat out bad.

She does not teach economics at all, she talks about her son and how much money she makes all class. The tests are impossible. She is a really nice lady but she is an awful professor.

Pretty bad teacher. she never shows up for class she missed well over 6classes on one semester her exams are rediculous and her quizzes are kinda hard...shes so annoying and will talk about her son which noone cares about and will go on and on about her life that we also dont care about. our class avg was pretty much failing dont take AVOID!

Does not cover chapters in detail even though she expects that on her tests. Spends most of class talking about her sons and how much money she makes even though she dresses like a sack of potatoes every day. Avoid at all costs, you will just waste your hard earned money and time and walk away with a lousy grade knowing nothing about economics.

I had Professor Savage my very first semester at Southern and she RUINED it for me. The midterm and the final are extremely ridiculous, over 20 pages long and has NOTHING to do with what you learned in class. The examples she uses are terrible and she doesn't care about you understanding. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This lady is the worst teacher at southern. she cancelled 4 classes in a row and gave us a test on things she didnt even cover. When i tryed to ask for help she almost made me cry. she makes you feel stupid and thinks that everyone should be an economics major. Dress's like a man and i wouldnt be doubt it if she was one DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS !!!!

This professor is terrible! She stopped showing up to class due to a family loss which is understandable. However she was gone for close to two months with no teacher replacement and when she returned she expected the class to make up the whole semesters worth of work in barely any time. I found her to be extremely rude and would not recommend her.

350 charcters are not enought space to say why you should not take her class. She is by far the worst teacher on campus. Expects you to learn by reading alone. Says she's there to help but is never there. Just take some simple advice and drop her class asap unless you want a C,D,F for your best work.

All the reviews are correct, except the ones that she clearly wrote. I'm halfway through the trimester and already think shes a horrible teacher and have not learned a thing.

I suggest never taking this professor if you want to be successful in college. That is all

Why is she still teaching is what you should ask yourself..Brilliantly smart yet she is unable to transfer the knowledge to you.

Whatever you do, DO NOT take her class, she doesn't teach her stuff well, everything she teaches is irrelevant to her tests, I did everything I could and studied hard and still failed all of her tests, went to office hours and she was just rude, try to avoid her class if you can!!

By far and away, the worst instructor I have ever had. She only showed up to about 23 of the classes, she rants about nonsensical things, and barely touches on the actual material. Then, when it comes time to take a test, she is dumbfounded when the class average is 40%. She also failed to provide a syllabus. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

My experience with Dr. Savage was one of the most distressing and confusing experiences of my life, in school and out. She was never there and when she was, she expected us to magically learn Economics with no guidance. Ask a question? Be shamed. Go to office hours? BE GIVEN A NEW TEXTBOOK THAT DOES NOT APPLY. Useless, almost everyone failed.

Worst professor ever. i did not learn anything at all. she tells too many unhelpful and unrelated stories about her personal life and about other economics professors. she talks about how bad they are when as he herself is one of the worst in the department.

do not even think about taking her class. my major is economics and i know what iam talking about. she spends her time talking about her sons, she does not have an outline so people just talk about anything in class. she thinks she is the best eco professor of southern always talking bad about others eco professors that she hates.

students that rate her good are just her groupies;that have a C and they still think it is okay. trust me no good student will like her. she spend her time talking about things that have nothing to do with the class and expect you to know all the chapters in the book. When you do bad, she says it is because you are not on her level. AVOID HER

i am an econ tutor at the student center, trust me do not take her. i had her and i did not understand anything that woman thought she was teaching. keep in mind i had a C in her class and A in all the eco classes i took at SCSU. do the math.

she spends her time talking bad about the eco professors in the business school. do your best to avoid her, especially if you taking eco 101, she will make you hate economics.

Class met once a week, she picked up this class knowing she was going to miss 3 classes because she told us 1st day. During 2 consec. weeks missed promised to email us about an upcoming test and didn't email us until that day 5 hrs prior. gave 1 qz & 1 test on 1st 4 Lecs. but our final is on 14 chaps. DOESNT TEACH OUT OF BOOK NOR ANSWER EMAILS.

Why bother? shes total not interested. Absent 25% of classes. Doesnt send promised email info. never replies to email. doesnt teach, just talks about herself and how great she is. but she doesnt write I looked her up - or teach. is just smug and eogotistic and doesnt care about teaching, just money. Avoid

WORST PROF EVER, besides the fact that she is most of the times, not to say always, off topic, she does not take her job seriously she misses a lots of classes, and during lectures( the 20 min she teaches) she gives students superficial explanations of certain topics that she might find important. The syllabus is just a note. DO NOT take her class

This professor honestly doesn't care about her students, I dont know how she is allowed to even teach. It's very unfortunate that there are teachers like prof Savage out there, that make it nearly impossible to pass the class. She grades you based of the tests and the test only. Nearly everyone in my class failed. Stay away from this class!!!!

Absolutely awful. Doesn't answer emails. Talks about her personal life more than economics. Brags about how she can't get fired because she is tenured and is rude. I failed her class and recently received an A in the same course with a different professor. Avoid her at all costs.
