This lady is alot of fun. Not much work besides reading short stoies and writing papers

This is the best 102 teacher on campus. Her class will be entertaining and you will wish all your teachers were like her.

I strongly dislike her way of teaching. Basically you read some passage from the book, you come to class, you take a quiz on it, then she says that we are going to "discuss the reading so everyone get out your book". then she reads the answers to the m/c quiz. and thats all we do. its so dumb. i wouldnt mind so much if it was an easy grade, dont

She was really nice. If you need help really just ask. She has some rules but they are pretty easy to follow.

If you like doing actual work I'd take her class. You almost always have work 2 do.. whether it's grammer homework, reading, essays, etc. Other than that she is a nice teacher!

This was the best teacher I had this semester!! She is awesome! We only wrote 3 papers, and took quizzes. She makes English interesting..you will do a lot of current events in her class! I strongly encourage you to take her!

She is one of the easier 101/102 english teachers. We have a good number of assignments but she grades easily, especially on papers, I never made less than an A on any of them. Go to class and read the short stories and it will be easy.

I LOVED HER!! I made an A+ in her class both semesters I took her. Make sure you read the stories before class, and just do what you are supposed to. She loves to keep in touch with you, too. She is awesome!

She is one of my favorite teachers ever! She is so easy and she is so nice. She is easy but yet, you still learn alot from her! You have to read a little bit and have a quiz but its not hard at all. She is so pretty too! I wish i could take her for all my classes!

Best freshman English teacher! Really easy! Just read the short stories the night before and you'll make a 100 on the quizzes! I had a 99 the whole semester! Definitely take her class! She is so nice and chill too!

I really enjoy this class. There is a lot of reading material but it's really short things. Like 2 or 3 pages. Her papers are fun and not too hard, you will do a research paper that takes a lot of time and effort! All around-good teacher!

Mrs. Schwartz is a great teacher! If you come to class and do the small things like vocab quizes then there is no way not to get a great grade!

Easy Class! Good Teacher! A little bias, and quick to share her veiws on society, but what english teacher isnt unique? Just pay attention and complete assignments and all will be good!

Mrs. Schwartz is a tough grader. She provides a lot of comments and will sometimes allow you to revise and resubmit your work. I didn't really like the class because I don't really like English, but I learned a lot and my writing improved.

Clear-cut instructions and clear-cut grading. Very vocal with what she does and does not like. Course has made me a better writer, even though I dislike the subject.

This class was as expected, although slightly harder than EN 101. Be sure to work in advance. However, you turn in a draft for each essay- as long as you adress each comment she makes you will get a 100 on the final drafr, in my experience. Not much to the class other than the essays and a few short homework assignments that are kindof pointless.

I am a perfectionist and struggle with my writing skills. Any times I had questions and emailed Dr. Schwartz , she would answer them quickly and with great detail. She is always helpful and explains anything I need help with. Great teacher and really cares about my progress.

Mrs. Schwartz is a very thorough teacher. she is tough and does not let her students get by with mediocre work. After EN 101, my ACT writing score improved by 4 points and my English score by 2 points. I can't wait to retake the ACT after completing EN 102 to see if my scores improve again. She teaches what you need to know for college writing.

Mrs. Schwartz challenged me to be a better student. Coming into the class, I thought I could just submit average work and earn an A. Boy was I wrong. The class taught me a lot about writing but it taught me even more about myself and what I'm going to need to do to be successful in college.

She is an awesome instructor. I learned so much about writing and the expectations for college level writing.

I had Mrs. Schwartz for three semesters and I love her. She is the best English teacher and taught me so much. Anytime I needed help, she was always willing to answers my questions. If you have the chance to take her, do!! She's great.

I have never been one to be really excited about writing or English in general, but these last two semesters with Professor Schwartz have instilled a new love of writing in me that would not have happened if I had not been in her classes. Professor Schwartz has by far been my favorite professor at UA thus far. The course was an online course, and she made it very easy to get in touch with her. She really cares about her students and their success. Her grading is very fair, and she gives excellent feedback. I learned a lot from her this semester, and I am sad for the class to end.

I had the opportunity to take Dr. Schwartz for EN 101, EN 102, and EN 210. She really cares about her students and will go above and beyond to make sure you succeed. I took these classes online through Early College, however she helped me transition when I moved to the University. I wish there were more teachers like her. Be ready to read though.

I really enjoyed this professor, and she was very good at teaching me several things about English. Although this is much more challenging then EN101, she taught it very well and gave clear grading criteria for all the different assignments. If you clearly follow the instructions and the book, you should be fine.

She's the best at teaching writing for freshman comp. I've never had a teacher that cared so much about my success in a course as Mrs. Schwartz did. She was very patient and kind whenever I texted her with my many questions--always helpful and quick to respond. I wish I could take more classes with her. She's truly awesome.

Shes a great teacher. Most of us students in her class are high school students taking college courses. Some students in my class constantly complained that she is too hard but those students just are not prepared for college courses and shouldnt be taking them and should just stick to high school courses.

Her EN 101 class is so easy. The writing assignments are simple and well structured. It is easy to make an A.

Both of my siblings have taken her and loved her. I had her this semester and she is an exceptionally great teacher. Very caring and gets back to you quickly when you have a question.

Dont believe those few bad reviews on her. She is a great teacher. Those students must not have tried at all if they think she is too hard. Never were there three rubrics etc. for any assignments. Sounds like a few students think she should give them good gradesAs for shoddy work.

She allows students to text her when they have questions. Anytime I texted her, she was always extremely quick to respond and very helpful. Ive taken her for two classes now and will be taking her for EN 209 in the fall. Shes the best!

She gives great feedback on drafts. If you use the feedback to make the needed revisions, you will earn an A on the revision. She also grades papers quickly and responds to text messages quickly. I was working on a paper late one night and asked her a question and she responded politely and with helpful advice.

Wonderful professor! I cant say enough good things about her. She wants students to do well in her course and if you dont do well, you probably didnt take her offer to help. I asked her questions about each writing assignments and she always helped me with them.

You will not find an instructor more willing to help with assignments than Mrs. Schwartz. Dont be afraid to ask questions because she is very nice and will answer you promptly.

The class was not what I expected. I thought it would be much harder but Mrs. Schwartz made it easier with her help. My past teachers never provided feedback for my writing. They just put a grade on the paper. Mrs. Schwartz provided an abundance of feedback which greatly helped me improve my writing. I will be taking her for EN 102 in the fall.

I enjoyed taking Professor Schwartz. She offers valuable feedback, and is very accessible outside of class. I took this class through Early College and she was readily available to provide feedback. I was a little confused about my final grade, but that's water under the bridge. Take her if you want a simple intro English class.

My writing improved so much after taking her class. I am a high school student and when I retook the ACT, my writing score improved 5 points.

I really enjoyed being able to text her to ask questions about assignments. She was alway quick to respond, and she provided great feedback in my assignments.

EN 102 involves writing a research paper, and with Mrs. Schwartz help, I was able to learn the correct way to use and cite sources, which I had not been taught before. The class was not easy, just because it required me to complete things I didn't know how to do. But Mrs. Schwartz was always willing to help when I had questions.

The class is pretty easy if you just do the work and follow the instructions. Mrs. Schwartz always provided good feedback in the drafts, so I knew exactly what I needed to do to revise it and earn an A on it. She is also easy to get in touch with and will answer your questions quickly. I will be taking her for EN 102 in the fall.

She is the first teacher I've had that provided specific feedback in my writing that gave me suggestions on how to improve it. When I was revising my work, I could text her to ask questions, she responded with helpful information.

Tough grader! Read every word and ask questions. I started to get discouraged and aimed for a B+ in the class and ended up with an A-! She will make you a better writer but boy will you struggle in the process.

Professor Schwartz helped my writing improve so much. I've always been a good writer, but I have never received constructive criticism like in this class. Not gonna lie, it sometimes hurt my feelings, but it was fair and helped me improve whether I wanted to hear it or not. Don't get your feelings hurt, and don't take criticism personally.

I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Schwartz has high expectations for her students. She sets you up to succeed in college. College is not easy and with this as a Freshman class, I learned that the expectations in college are much higher than those in high school. Professor Deborah Schwartz is a very nice instructor. If you have any questions about the assignment, she will answer them. She also gives good and encouraging feedback on the assignments.
