Great Bio teacher! Explains the material very well and adapts her teaching styles to accomodate the class.

if u want an A in bio take her class ...its sooo easy ... take it during the summer if you want an A+++ even easyer

I am not a Bio major and I hate science. She made the material bearable and even interesting. I worked hard but the grade reflected my effort. She is a great teacher and a must have for non-science majors.

Excellent Teacher. Funny, interesting lectures. Knows how to keep your attention and generate interest in the topic. However, she has very little tolerance for people who don't apply themselves. Very receptive to questions relevant to the topic.

She teaches lecture even in the hybrid class which is a non lecture class. She is a great teacher very willing to help you out if you ask for help.

Her lectures are so far from boring.. shes great. would DEFINETLY take her again! You will end up with an A if you pay attention and do good on labs bc they bring grades up!

the sweenster is awesome but the class is just hard and so are the test. if you really study the book ull be fine, dont listen to her reviews they really dont help. pay attention during lecture and studying what she talks about in the powerpoints in the book. its a tough class but we all got through it, ull b fine too!

Outstanding professor, explains everything and is willing to go extra mile to be helpful. Twice this past semester during a review, she told us to concetrate on a specific area of the test, and then asked questions about something else. Use the powerpoints to study, study all of it no matter what she says she is concentrating on.

Sweeney is a great teacher.. All you have to do is study hard.... You will def an A...I would def take her again..

I had Sweeney in Spring 08. She was very concerned with our success and explained labs in detail. The class is hard and the exams aren't easy but, if you STUDY you'll be ok. She did miss a few classes due to being in the hospital but, we completed the syllabus. I recommend her for anyone willing to do the work.

She is the BEST! Funny analogies, encouraging, helpful, and emails notes before class. She graded more than fair but, you need to study and do the work to pass. Micro isn't easy but she did her job very well. The rest is up to you. I would def take her again.

The "hybrid" part was self-study, with study guides generously supplied by the instructor. Prof Sweeney went above and beyond her duty when she gave lectures during labs. She does her part, but you have to do yours to do well.

Sweeney is the best. All you have to do is come to class, do your labs, study, and you will get a good grade. She doesnt like rude people who talks when she talks, and makes her repeat herself over and over. She emails notes before class, and is accessible by email. She rocks I would take her again. Very good teacher. She explains fundamental very clearly. I learned a lot from her. Willing to help. In a way she is helping soceity by teaching us basic fundamental to be better knowledgeble nurses. she is very willing to help if you want to learn.

This is an excellent class for anyone interested in the environment. Well done and comprehensive. Sweeney was cool. She was current in her grading and was helpful with any questions or concerns. This class was actually interesting and insightful. Great online experience.

good teacher she knows her stuff. from a guys pov i didnt find her class interesting.it almost felt like gossip hour. im not trying to be funny but seriously. easy class my first two tests were 75ish and 60ish and still managed a B.(halfa$$ed them cuz i took a&p at the same time. idk how i did it but i still recommend here due to lack of difficulty

She's awesome! The class is hard but she explains everything well. Her tests are hard but they come right from her notes, so study and you will do well. I'm not that great of a student, I hate college, but I got an A in her class!

This Professor was seriously one of my favorite! I don't know what everyone else is talking about but she made me want to come to class. She is very approachable and funny! I had a&p along with her course in the same semester and I got a B. Form study groups if you are having trouble. She was so helpful and i wish every prof. was like her!!!

Awesome professor. Very funny and gives useful analogies that make you remember the material. If you study you will do well. She gives you the knowledge and skills to get there you need to do the rest. LOVE HER.

This is one great professor. She made class enjoyable by relating the material to us in ways that I have never seen before. Most professors just lecture and are boring. Sweeney is so NOT boring. She knows her stuff, makes you laugh, makes you work hard and makes you happy that you are thinking. I would take her again.

Professor Sweeney is the best. I read all the previous comments before my first class and I was intimidated, only to show up and realize they couldn't have been more wrong. She makes this class interesting with her vast knowledge and hilarious sense of humor. I love that she shares personal stories to make the subject matter easier to remember.

Taking notes during lecture is a must which is why I feel attendance is mandatory. If you show up, pay attention & study, you will do great. I highly recommend taking any of her classes!

I loved the class and professor Sweeney. I was worried after I read prior reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The class isn't easy but definitely passable if you try.

Don't be intimidated by these comments. Yes, some of her tests did not come from the textbook or lectures, but mostly they are common sense. Labs are enjoyable because you work with groups & it's a relaxed setting. Also very friendly in general, I run into her on campus and she will stop and talk; very sweet.

She is an excellent professor if you want to actually learn something.I'd advise taking her. Study using her notes and the textbook together. I took her over the summer and she went over the test before we took it. I didn't have much study time. I got a 84 78 and 76 did great in lab and I got an A in her class so she is nice

Great instructor. Great sense of humor. Didn't read the book that much. She used power point slides that you can study from. To get that A, I highly suggest you read the material first. Then (if you have a phone, tape recorder, or a smartpen, like Echo) record the lectures. Go home and listen to your lecture again. Write down anything you missed

Prof Sweeney is a good professor. I enjoyed her class & found her lectures interesting, but that is all perspective (some of my classmates couldn't stay awake). Previous comments about her being rude and unhelpful are a tad over-exaggerated (she has answered my questions nicely). Her tests are hard, she doesn't really curve, but she is fair.

Sweeney is the best, for real. Lectures are interesting and relevant to those heading to careers in healthcare and related fields. She is either early or on time for class and more than prepared. Her sense of humor makes class enjoyable. Assignments, exams and labs are graded in a timely fashion. She goes out of her way to help students.

I wish more of my professors were like her. You can tell she loves being in the classroom. Always early, full of energy, respectful of students and makes the class interesting. Grades promptly with good feedback. Tests are difficult but if you take notes and study you can do well.

Professor Sweeney is #1! Very organized lectures, gives already printed out power points for her students to read; make sure you read the chapter info in the book that goes with the power-point, study them together. She also has a way of explaining things with great stories to help remember even the hardest info. Great personality, very funny!

Overall, good teacher. Only major problem I had with her, is her chattiness. She will try to tell a story that relates to the topic & spend 10 mins telling you about her cat or her college roommates. Also, had a note explaining why I missed class 1 day and she wouldn't give me partial credit on the lab that I had set up the previous class.

Prof. Sweeney one of the best teachers I've had in my 3 years of college. She tries everything she can to help You pass, just pay attention and don't skip class or show up late and you are good to go!

I think this professor is amazing to have for microbiology. I heard the course was hard; however, she is pretty straight-forward. Every lab you are working with bacteria, she gives the questions for her test (I made my personal outline for the outlines she gave us) and you have one major project to do. She is funny and great to have.

Take her! She is a fair grader and does what she can to ensure the success of her students. She offers extra credit questions on tests, gives copies of her power points, gives easy end of semester project to boost your grade and does test reviews. No reason not to do well!

Absolutely loved Professor Sweeney. Such a sweet lady, always willing to help you out and truly cared about teaching. I was very sad when she had to leave for a medical reason and was unable to finish the semester but with the time a did spend with her, I was glad I did. She made a tough subject doable.

Took her for Biology I last fall. The class is hard no matter who you have. Sweeney gives out copies of her powerpoints, uses lots of examples and always asks if you understand or have any questions. You have to study and work hard. Don't skip classes or show up late all the time. She doesn't tolerate the lazy students very much.

Professor Sweeney is a real gem! You have to pay attention from her lectures. Get ready to read aside from the powerpoint notes provided. I learned a lot and enjoyed the seminar at the end of the semester. Come to class, dont be late and follow lab instructions. I had her in Microbio so NO shorts, NO flip flops, NO hanging tees. We all love her!

Labs are easy and second half of the semester is all groups labs. Lecture she prints out all your slides so you can follow along. Exams can be difficult and have to study. Dont waste money on the textbook. There will be a few questions from it but if you understand the slides well enough, youll be fine. Presentation at end of semester is easy.

Its a tough class, anyway you look at it. Prof. Sweeney makes it as doable as possible. You have to study and really know your stuff to ace the exams. The exams are really tough, but there is a lot of room to do even better between presentations, extra credit, and labs. Also, she has no time for slackers!!!!

Professor Mrs Deborah Sweeney taught me a lot, in a fun adventurous fashion. I LOVE HER. i strongly advise that you have her for every class available. This woman has a pure soul and would never degrade you or upset you as a student. She is always available with good intentions and she is one of the most intelligent women I have ever met.

Professor Deborah Sweeney will always be all of the previous comments that I wrote, but also wanted to include the fact that she is the best teacher anyone could ever hope for. She is really happy with her life which is awesome because she has that pure energy in her soul to keep you happy, comfy, successful, and valued as a student.

She was a very interesting professor to listen to, enjoys talking with students, has a good sense of humor, and not too difficult. You have to put in the work, but she is clear about the content that will be on the test. Use both the textbook and lecture notes to study.

Best class I've ever taken. The content is very interesting. If you put the effort in you can easily get a B. Browse through the chapters and study the PowerPoints for exams. The work load is very doable. Great professor who wants her students to learn. Highly recommend, you will love this class.

I would recommend this teacher! She is funny and her lectures are super interesting. I bought the book, but did not personally use it, I just went over the power points and reviewed my lecture notes and got a B+. She is very helpful and goes over what you should focus on for the test, it is a little broad but it helps you get prepared!!

I literally just finished my semester and I have her as a professor. Our class was great and she makes it super easy to pass her class. She teaches off PowerPoints which makes things easier to understand and we did group labs which was a bonus. She gives extra credit questions for each exam to help you boost your grades up. TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!!!!

She is amazing teacher and me giving right advice when I was struggling and her teaching style is different from others and teaches from PowerPoint which help in learning as well as prepare for exams.

Professor Sweeney is very sweet and understanding. I had surgery through this class and missed two weeks and still passed her class. Her class I difficult you have to study but put in the work and you will pass!

This class consisted of mostly quizzes. Doing the labs at home was a bit tricky at times but passing is easily doable. I would take this again.

Great accelerated microbiology course. All quizzes and labs, no exams. She rounded my B to an A even though i wasn't expecting. She always responded in a timely manner. Do your reading, quizzes & lab you will get an A!

Professor Sweeney's BIO121 class is mostly quiz-based, but manageable if you put in the work. The labs can be tricky, but study resources like unstuck study and review of the textbook/PowerPoints help a lot. Overall, a rewarding class with an engaged professor.
