She was funny and explained things well but the class over all was fast paced. If you missed a day of class, you were usually lost on the next day and homeworks. She has many office hours and opportunities for help so you can always get a good grade from that. Try and do all work and attend all classes, including discussion. She also gives bonus.
Don't take this class if don't have a strong chemistry background. If you don't, you could try to keep up but the best you could probably make in this course is a C+. She is very snarky when you ask questions and tells you to figure it out on your own time (even when you go to office hours). She isn't much help at all and tests are pretty difficult
Dr. Walker was great and she had so much passion in her lectures. No textbook is needed and she will give a lot of extra credit at random moments which is helpful. She is also always willing to help and I really lover her class demonstrations. The only difficult part of her class was that it was pretty fast paced and you had to do a lot on your own
When I would try to ask her questions, she'd always have snarky replies like "you shouldn't be asking me this," "you should already know this," or "I didn't cover this yet." I honestly did not enjoy this class at all. You really have to work for it all on your own. The TAs were sweet though!
I took this class after taking AP Chemistry. It was a joke. The amount of work we were expected to do was exponential. I've heard from older students that she takes her test questions from the MCAT books. You will never find an old . The other professors are way more well rounded. There are NO CURVES she just gives random bonus points.
THE WORST CLASS EVER. She is one of those professors who could care less how you feel because she is getting paid. Its almost as if she sits down, and asks herself, "What is the most complicated way I can explain this". Terrible. When I decided that i was not going to fail and teach myself chemistry, my grades went up. Rather drop out than take her
Deborah Walker makes unnecessary snarky remarks at every moment, she'll will make personal attacks on you in a subtle manner, her TAs teach more effectively than her, she sometimes assigns work that she won't cover until 8 hours until it's due regardless of what classes are on between. She confuses you in her review sessions more than her lectures
She is not clear at all. If the class is confused on a concept she wont explain of it and rather says just go to office hours but she is confusing there too, the TAs even dislike that she doesn't encourage the students
If I have the opportunity to take this class again, now that I know how it works, I still would not take it. Like everybody else said, she make unnecessary remarks that makes you feel extremely uncomfortable. Dr. Walker clearly loves Chemistry, but does not know how to teach some of the main points, such as Thermodynamics.
A lot of people hated her as a professor but liked her as a person. Her class was very tough for me even though I liked learning about everything. She really engages with the class. She really does care about her students. Her test were just really tough. She does some bonus assignments so that helps a little. Take her if you don't mind studying.
Honestly, Dr. Walker is a very tough professor. She doesn't just hand the answers to you, but rather makes you think about concepts. A lot of people don't like her, but those are the people who are not willing to put the work into learning a difficult subject. She loves her students and helps as much as she can.
Dr. Walker has a cool personality. Her classes are extreme though. You must work for you grade, but if you approach her, she will help you.
Dr. Walker's teaching style is a bit different than most professors. You have to be MENTALLY ready to take this class, but anything you learn in her class will definitely benefit you in the future.
Let me just make it clear that if you're taking chemistry with Dr. Walker, you HAVE to give it your 100%. She's not one of those who curves anything and just gives A's like nothing.(although she does give a lot of extra credit.) she's a great professor, but you need to want it!
Dr. Walker is a one-of-a-kind professor. She understands how students learn more than any professor I have encountered. She's fun, kind, and clearly cares about her students. An A in the class is entirely possible, the opportunities for learning are endless
If you had Dr. Walker your first semester and are planning to get out of her class, don't do it! She's actually one of the better chemistry professors. She understands chemistry to a level like no other and can teach it fairly well. It is up to you weather you get a good grade.
Dr. Walker is an amazing, eccentric person, yes. BUT she is not very clear in her class and expects for the material to be self-learned and to grasp it very quickly in class.
I love Dr. Walker's teaching style. Shes an amazing person and I definitely recommend her.
Walker was ABSOLUTELY amazing! I had her for both Ch301 and Ch302. Her lectures are really engaging and she holds so many office hours. She is SO great at explaining things and she really makes it possible for you to get an A in her class with bonus points. As long as you put the work into this class, you will do well. She is very approachable too.
You'll definitely be able to get an A if you complete worksheets at Sanger before class, redo HWK worksheets and prep sheets on your own before the exam, ask for mock exams, and clear up any questions during her many, many office hours. Find a group (CSS, Sanger, or just classmates) to work on homework. She gives a TON of bonus, so take advantage.
Honestly not a fan of Walker. Her tests are completely different from her homeworks. The questions have difficult wording that makes no sense. TA's arent very helpful either. 10/10 dont recommend.
Dr. Walker grades off a point system as 900 points is a A plus. There are 5 tests plus a final, which are all worth 150 points and she sometimes gives bonus on test for even more points. She throws bonus points at you, easy homework points, and attendance. Also the last test is not even stressful because I am already guaranteed an A. Love Walker!!!
Professor Walker is an amazing lecturer. If you make the time and go to class every day, and maybe office hours if possible, there is no way you can fail the class. It is a lot of work in comparison to other chemistry professors and we do have way more exams, however, you will learn to appreciate it and see how it is beneficial to you.
Dr. Walker is a great professor. She has 5 exams over the course of the semester, plus a final. She offers an alternate exam that you take on the last day of class, and can replace your lowest exam score if you do better on it. You can tell that she is genuinely excited about teaching chemistry and makes sure you understand the material.
This is a class where you actually need to study and work real hard, but it is definitely possible to get an A.
Shes a sweet heart and you will do great as long as you do YOUR part.
Dr. Walker is a wonderful professor. Although her class is very difficult, she rewards you with attendance points and MANY bonus opportunities that collectively can boost your grade a substantial amount. She clearly loves chemistry and helping her students. She's available and extremely approachable. If you keep up, an A is very doable. Love her!
She is a hard teacher but has given me an appreciation for chemistry and learning to understand and not just memorization. She is a very sweet woman and genuinely cares about you and how you're doing in the class. She is passionate about chemistry which makes it that much easier to enjoy.
I found this this class to be very difficult, and so did some of my friends. Dr. Walker is a great person, and she is passionate about what she is teaching, but her teaching style is more conceptual based than actually just knowing what and how to do things, which isn't my forte, so the wording on tests and homework really tripped me up.
Learn the concepts, practice blue book, know how to do all hwk questions (custom review), double check work on tests and you'll get an A on exams. IF YOU DO WELL ENOUGH YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE THE FINAL! BONUSES! 1 HWK assignment each week 20-45q, 1 worksheet a week, no quizes. This prof is dedicated. Do-able class. You'll be better for it.
Dr. Walker is a great person and a fun lecturer. However, she crams SO much material in the few days before your exams. This class is extremely difficult if you don't have prior chem knowledge. Dr. Walker has a very set way that she wants her students to think through problems, which causes her test problems to be a bit convoluted at times.
This class is difficult. Up to 60 homework problems due every week, with 30 problems being the average amount per week. Problems on homework doable, but often had to go to alternative sources for help, such as internet or tutoring. Tests were above the level of the homework questions and content covered in class. Attendance matters. Lots extracred
Sometimes she acts more like a parent than a professor but I think it just really shows how much she cares for her students and wants the best for them. Super sweet lady who makes chemistry easy for those who struggle with it
She is such a wonderful person and is so passionate about chem. She is excellent, all you need to do is pay attention to the lectures, understand the quest hw (quest based tests), and study two days before the exams, then you'll get an A. Attendance is taken by squarecap but you don't actually have to go, just keep up with the course packet.
Walker is an amazing professor, however her tests are hard! Didn't pass any! I had A's on my homework but the test was just plain hard. I do not recommend!
Dr. Walker is the best professor I have had since I started at UT. She is an amazing lecturer. She does her best to accommodate all of her students and makes sure that everyone understands the material. Chemistry, even gen chem, isn't easy, but she is honestly the best professor to take it with. I took her for CH 301/302, and I was ready for Ochem
She's chill as long as you show some effort.
She knows her stuff and cares about her students. If you fail it's because you didn't want to put in the effort. TAs are great too
Dr. Walker is a PHENOMENAL professor. Yes, this class is very time-consuming and requires so much effort, but it is SO worth it. It is VERY possible to get an A if you commit to the class. I've learned so much from Walker, 10/10 recommend her if you are on any pre-health path. If you don't put in the work you will NOT see good results.
This class is HARD; tests are rough. Compared to other UT chem professors her class is by far the most difficult. Walker can be snarky and isn't the nicest when you ask her questions. Get a different professor, not worth it unless you have a LOT of prior chem knowledge.
I was so worried at the beginning, since I had ZERO background knowledge of chem (besides sophomore chem). The course packet is easy to follow, and instead of just doing the homework, understand it. Go to CSS and attend office hours! If you are lazy, you will NOT see the results, simple as that. Put in the effort, and an A is in your favor.
Deborah is a professor that doesn't play. She goes fast over stuff, and you are expected to know what she is already talking about. She was a wake-up call. If you don't put the effort, then you will not get the grade. She offers bonus points; take advantage of them they help. Do your hw, course packet, and study hard. You really can get an A.
Super nice and she keeps the class interesting with good lectures and a few experiments. HOWEVER, homework feels excessive. 30-40 questions was normal. Tests are also much more difficult than normal class work. Expect to fail a good few exams. Many were failing for the first half, but she adds lots of bonus at the end. DO BONUS. Also no calculator
This class was one of the HARDEST classes I've ever taken. I was failing for most of the year and half of her students dropped her. At the end, she gave so much extra credit to make up for everyone failing. Good teaching, but horrible tests. NO calculators are allowed even though there are calculations. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NON-CNS students
Great professor but her tests are hard
Super sweet and obviously wants everyone to make a good grade in the class with how much extra credit she gives and the fact that she replaces your lowest test grade with an extra test at the end of the semester. Super straightforward class and could have gotten a 0 on the final and retained my A.
Dr. Walker is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is caring and she gives you a lot of opportunities to understand, such as homework and bonuses. I came into UT thinking I wouldn't like chemistry and I'm switching to a chemistry major. Her no calculators for the first 2 exams was scary, but I loved it bc it prepared me for the MCAT.
Dr Walker is amazing! She has a reputation for being very tough but honestly she is the sweetest lady! She gives out a lot of extra credit and although her homework are time consuming they count as easy points towards your grade. She did not allow calculators on the first exam but provides a lot of opportunities for you to make an A. Def recommend.
Dr. Walker is the best professor I have had at UT so far. I took her for CH301 and CH302 and at first I was doing bad in her class because of the difficulty, but once I did the extra credit and learned how to study I made an A. Going to her office hours is the best, she really cares and learns your learning style to help you improve individually.
She has been the best professor I've had so far. She knows her stuff and is very passionate about chemistry. There' s no other professor like this. Honestly if you failed is because you did not put the effort in this class. This class can be rough sometimes but it's UT get used to it. Go to office hours if you need them and CSS.
Dr. Walker is the BEST professor you may ever meet. She is the sweetest person ever, gets to know the learning style of almost every single student and really cares for you. She discourages memorization and breaks your bad study habits. This class is difficult, but doable. If you ever take Dr. Walker, consider yourself a very lucky student!
Dr. Walker is such a sweetheart. She is known to be a tough professor but she is so worth it! I failed her first test in CH 301 but that is because I didnt know how to study. I ended up getting an A in both Ch 301/Ch302! TAKE this woman if you can, you will appreciate and LEARN chemistry. She will prepare you for any career you want in healthcare.
So I dropped the class but she's a great professor. Dont try cramming for exams. Her class is not as easy as the others, because her classes tend to be smaller meaning less time is spent turning/passing exam sheets, allowing her to ask harder exam questions since you have more time. Also, you dont need the molecular structure kit unless u want it.
At first i was fond of debs teaching but as class went on she seemed like she was trying to be funny while we were struggling to learn . She gives a seating chart which is changed 3-5 times a semester and she is condescending, telling many people i know to think about changing their major or career paths based on the first test grade. test heavy.
She was a very good, caring teacher but I struggled really hard in her class. If chemistry is something that you struggle with coming into her class, I advise you take another teacher. The class was Tip reserved for me so I felt that I had to take it but in hindsight, I definitely should have gone with a slower paced chemistry professor.
She's a decent enough professor, and gives several chances for extra credit. It's easy to get lost though, so be careful. Her tests are similar to the homework, so as long as you over that, you'll be fine.
The grading can be a little confusing, it's a cumulative points system. The deadlines for her homework assignments can be inconsistent sometimes, and they're excessive. Generous with extra credit points. For tests, DO THE COURSE PACKET TO STUDY!! She's kind, passionate and she pushes you academically.
Dr. Walker is an amazing professor. She always found a way to compare chemistry to real life analogies. If you didn't understand it one way, she'd always try to find new ways to help you figure it out. Go to her office hours!! She also gives out lots of extra credit so take advantage of it. It's not that hard of a class to get an A in
This class is very difficult. If youre not strong in chemistry going in, dont take her. The only thing that saved me was the bonus points. The tests are very hard and I couldnt learn anything from her face paced lectures.
Dr. Walker is a sweet lady who knows what she's talking about. She is very accessible and caring towards her students. That being said, the course is difficult and requires good and consistent study habits. There is a lot of homework but it is helpful. go to her office hours, css, and complete all assignment and you'll be fine.
Just no.
Test are most of the grade and full of trick questions. She expects you to have significant knowledge and experience with Chemistry before being in the class.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Most of the reviews on here are extremely misleading and far from the truth. Walker is one of the most condescending professors I've ever had. Tests are filled with trick questions & she expects everyone to know every little thing about chem prior to her class. Class average was failing a majority of the time. DON'T TAKE HER.
Terrible professor. Do not ask questions because you will not get the answer. This is not an easy A class, expect to do a lot of work to make an A. There is a good amount of extra credit offered but for most people it is not enough to pass. Most of your learning is going to be done outside the class, avoid taking if possible.
You need to have a very good foundation for this class. Do not recommend her unless you LIKE chemistry. Good person overall but the class is 10x harder than the rest of the profs. If youre in TIP, SWITCH to the other prof!
So Dr. Walker is okay. She can be very intense, and doesn't allow her students to adjust to the course well. She expects her students to immediately understand her lessons, and will get upset when students can't answer questions. Most students are forced to take her class because of FIGs. I had no prior AP chem knowledge and did fine.
You have to work for your grade in this class, test are difficult but doable. She wants you to learn chemistry and not just memorize things, so if you are not interested in the subject take a different professor.
Prof. Walker was tough, however, I truly think that if you put in the effort you can succeed in this class. The only chem background I had was preAP chem from sophomore year and I could've ended with a higher grade if I had adjusted to UT better at the beginning. She's a very nice person, go to HER office hours and she'll answer any questions.
Overall Dr. Walker is not as bad as everyone seems to make her. She does expect you to know things coming into the class. Chemistry itself will just require you to study lots to really understand. She gives extra credit, which helps a lot.
Her tests are really difficult. She uses too many analogies, can be distracting. She also is not receptive to questions in class. Homework is only worth about 3 points and tests are 200 each. Tests are very hard. Wants students to be able to do what computers cant. She also is preparing students for the real world. Therefore, she is challenging.
im gonna be completely honest with myself and say that there was room for me to do better. Overall, however, her class is challenging. Attendance is mandatory and she expects highly from her students at all times, expecting students to know material right when its taught. She makes an effort to teach but sometimes only adds confusion.
Dr. Walker isn't as bad as everyone makes her out to be. Yes you have to work for an A but it is attainable. She does expect prior knowledge however its just the basics. Test are a bit difficult but if you study and truly understand instead of memorizing the topics you should be fine. Lots of extra credit !!!
Although Dr. Walker seems really nice and looks like she cares about her students, her class is really challenging and demands prior knowledge in order to be successful. Although TIP recommends this professor, I wouldn't take her. She also uses a lot of analogies and mumbles under her breath about her class sometimes. Had a lot of students Q-Drop..
Dr. Walker values pedagogy over chemistry. She cares a lot about how you do in her class, but it can be too much. She will first hold your hand, then push you out of the nest, and get mad at you for not flying. Then shell feel bad about getting mad, and come back and be wayyyy to nice. Its weird. There are better profs to teach you chemistry.
Sum up: Nice lady, good ideas but very bad in practice I want to start by saying Dr. Walker was caring. However, her teaching style constantly changed to try to help students but it didn't work. She would become annoyed when people didn't understand and would become very condescending. The TA and bonus points are what got the class to finally pass.
Dr Walker is recommended by tip, however, I would recommend taking another chemistry professor. She is not bad, but I think other chem professors do a better job than her. She goes through lecture pretty fast; going over her course packet and past homework helps a ton for upcoming test though
Um she made like 100 assignments due in a week and doesnt care to notice. She makes the simplest things a grade, even commenting on perusall which is already confusing enough. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. I learned nothing, had to teach myself .
Im not going to write a long paragraph just believe when i say just DONT take this class. Just dont point blank period.
Prof Walker really loves chem and is very passionate about it when teaching; however, her lectures were useless since she never went over what our hmw and modules went over. Her class is TERRIBLE. I dropped on the 5th class day (best decision ever) ! I took this class because I thought all TIP students had to, but YOU DONT! TAKE ANOTHER PROF!
Professor Walker's Chem 301 course IS tough(not gonna lie)but it is worth it and I respect her methods. There are a lot of things like Quest, Perusall, and quizzes, but they are given to us in order to help us learn, not just as EXTRA assignments. I'm not done with the semester yet, but ive got an A so far. It is a passable class if you do the work
Dr. Walker gets a bad reputation at UT because she designs her course to meet the rigorous standards of future upper-division classes. This was a tough class and you need to work on study habits and practice to succeed. Walker was caring and made lectures fun, but she often changed her teaching style so it was very disorienting to constantly adapt.
The course started out with an overwhelming amount of material to cover and the learning methods changed and were not consistent the entire semester. It is doable to make an A but only after hours of studying outside the classroom and keeping up with the hectic announcements and amount of changes that happened constantly. Do not recommend.
Worst teacher ever!! Unclear instructions and has the absolutely worst lectures. If you hate life you should take her class but if you actually like learning and being productive take any other chem teacher.
Dr. Walker prepares you for upper-division chemistry. With that said she expects HIGHLY of her students. As a freshman, her class was a bit OVERWHELMING especially being online. However, Dr. Walker cares about her students' success constantly available than most profs. Her class taught me how to study; sounds weird. As they say, pick your poison.
Dr. Walker makes you work for your grade! Expect frequent homework and assignments every week. As someone stated, she also taught me the importance of studying, which I saw good results in my exams. Exams did not have too many questions, but studying is highly encouraged. Towards the end of the semester, she dropped many assignments which helped.
Dr. Walker was pretty accommodating given the circumstances. She would take students' opinions into consideration with everything she gave us. There was a lot of work but most would be dropped, allowing chances for the best work to be accounted for. Not an easy A, study, go to CSS, and try your best. Doable class, she's nice and will listen.
Walker is hands down my favorite professor of all. The notebook she gives to fill in while listening to her lectures was soooo helpful, cant emphasized that enough. I have a tough history with chemistry and walker made it seem very simple for me. The amount of homework is doable although the discussion projects are difficult. She is also very sweet
Dr. Walker is a very caring professor, she goes above and beyond to accommodate her students. I took her class online, and it was a bit all over the place. Most of the time I was placed with peers that did not take accountability for their bad work. However, the amount of extra credit is great and the class is super easy to pass if you go to class.
She definitely isn't as bad as the reviews say she is. She's really enthusiastic and accommodating, such as making Fridays asynchronous. Gives many great analogies to help understand concepts. A lot of HW, but lots of things also dropped. Wide range for an A (90+). However, tests are difficult. You'd remember lots if you took chem in HS. Work for A
She is a very sweet lady and she truly cares about her students, and I'm sure her in person class is great, but online was not at all. She gives so much work, and they're on like 3 different websites so its hard to keep track of. The tests sometimes will cover things that we didn't really discuss or mention. But she drops some test/quiz grades.
At the beginning of the Fall 2020 semester, Dr. Walker put in her best efforts to accommodate +100 students added right before the first class day(a lot drop the class; didn't give her a chance but are still leaving reviews...) Her teaching style is to prepare you for Upperdivision if you want a shortcut(no effort), by all means, take another prof.
Dr. Walker is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. She cares so much about her students and is always flexible. Chemistry is obviously a hard course but I enjoyed being in her class.
I took Dr. Walker for CH301 and CH302. I will admit that CH301 was difficult to adapt to online but she was very organized for CH302. Dr. Walker cares a lot about her students and makes lectures fun. She will make you work for an A but also provides extra credit opportunities and drops many low scores.
I had her for both CH 301 and CH 302. I highly recommend taking her, she is such a sweetheart, you can tell she is truly passionate about what she does. Going to her class makes me so excited to learn chemistry. My experience going to her office hours is very great, such a helpful resource. EXTREMELY UNDERSTANDING!
Professor Walker made it very difficult to learn a very hard subject. Her teaching was not consistent and she kept on changing the resources she used which made everything more difficult than it had to be. She seems like a good person, but I wouldn't take her again.
I had her for ch301 and ch302. The first semester I had her, she was a bit disorganized but this semesters setup was great. She provides lots of opportunities for you to get an A especially when you can collaborate with others on test and discussions (take advantage of this to learn). Shes also really nice and really does care for you
I took Dr. Walker for both CH301 and CH302 and she is a great professor! She is very enthusiastic and passionate about Chemistry. She tells funny stories and gives great analogies that are helpful ways to remember the material. She also offers extra credit throughout the semester. You can tell that she genuinely cares about her students.
You have to study and understand the material to pass the course. She assigned too much homework and other assignments. Her tests were difficult and had very little questions. Sometimes she felt all over the place. She did give out bonus points and dropped many assignments towards the end. The final was optional.
Dr. Walker isn't good at actually teaching. Her explanations complicate simple concepts. She isn't good at managing her time during lecture, resulting in most of the lecture content being smashed into the last 10 minutes of class. Most people do poorly on her exams even though the subject matter is pretty simple and easy. Take any other chem prof!
This was my first class at UT, I am now a senior. This class made me want to take a different career path because I thought I was dumb. Turns out it is just her bad teaching. I had little to no experience with chem in high school so I had to ask questions. Her answers were often complicated and kind of mean, like she wanted me to feel stupid.
She's very disorganized during lectures and doesn't know how to manage time. She'll go back between different pages, so out of order; her course packet has many mistakes and makes you memorize things that aren't that necessary. She stereotyped all of us as pre-med. She made me feel dumb for asking simple questions while giving me no answers.
Although Mrs. Walker is a very nice lady, and provides good examples, the class was awful. Lectures are very disorganized, we skip topics and then get long homework assignments over it. She assumes the whole class is pre med. Students fail her exams. I stopped looking both ways when I cross the street before going to this class
Dr. Walker seems like a nice person but is an awful teacher. There are very little assignments so exams are 90% of your grade. She is very disorgnaized so lectures can be confusing. She skips over topics but still tests you on them and expects you to know them. I normally love chemistry but after this class I now hate it. 10/10 do not recommend.
horrible. Deborah is not good at teaching at all. I ask a question and get answered with a question or am made to feel dumb. she immediately assumes that youre pre-med therefore you should know everything. Her discussions are not even discussions you have to study like theyre quizzes and is unorganized, makes things more complicated and overall bad
Some of these reviews are inaccurate as Dr. Walker has very clear grading criteria which you can view on the syllabus. The exams are not worth as much as you would assume as they are evened out with discussion, homework, and reading grades. Although this class may be difficult, and A can be achieved if you attend CSS and do your work. Just study.
Don't let positive reviews fool you. Yes, she does have clear grading criteria, but the amount of questions in assignments is over the top, especially when students obviously take more than one class. She crams information in her lectures since she usually tends to run out of time, and she doesn't really let the TAs help either.
Don't listen to all the salty students that didn't take the time to even study for her course. Walker gives LOTS of extra credit, a make up exam, optional final, and assignments get a higher grade. She can be a little all over the place, but what you put in is what you get back. Study and you will be fine and get an A... oh and she's funny :) !!
Deb is very disorganized and all over the place. She explains the most simple topics in the most complicated way. She skips over topics in lectures and then proceeds to test you over them. If you have any family emergency and tell her about it, she won't give you an extension ever for an assignment. I highly recommend you find another professor!
Although Deb is a kind lady, she complicates a lot of basic concepts. If you didnt take AP chem in HS, I dont recommend you take her! She assigns textbook readings, weekly hw,and studying for weekly discussions. In my opinion, its too much to where you dont even retain the info, its just about getting it done for the grades. Offers bonuses tho
She provides lots of help. On the last few exams, she let students share answers and discuss answers before turning in the test. Her exams are based on course packets and lecture materials. The discussion could be hard but she gives extra time. Go to CSS! She like to explain concepts in both mathematically way and conceptually. I end up with an A.
Walker's class is pretty difficult and requires a good amount of effort if you want an A. I failed a lot of assignments but with that being said, I still managed to get an A- so it's not that bad. She drops a lot of your lowest grades and gives many extra credit opportunities which add up at the end so highly recommend.
Dr. Walker actually made me like chemistry! She is one of the best professors I had so far! She does whatever it takes to give out extra resources and help you out. She is very knowledgeable in chemistry and makes it interesting. She does quizzes, homework, extra credit, textbook reading, and more to prepare you for tests.
I took Dr. Walker Freshman year for both CH301 and CH302. Yes, the course can be challenging, but she gives you so many opportunities for points! There is no reason you shouldn't get an A. She is super understanding and not only teaches chemistry for the sake of it but provides situations where it can be applied. Take her class, you won't regret it
Dr. Walker is great at her job. She's an entertaining lecturer, understanding, and great at applying material for us to understand it. Her exams are difficult, but not impossible. If you study for her class, you should be fine. Lots of extra credit, lots of CSS and office hours for extra points. Just stay on top of the content and you will be fine.
walker is like shabbir but a more caring version and gives hella extra credit. she cares more ab her students as people and our learning & less ab our grade. shes super lenient but the material is tough you have to work for an A. css is helpful!! tests determine your grade & can be tough you rlly need to know your stuff, everything else is easy 100
pretty much the same as chem 1. she likes to mix things up so in unit 5 class was required bc there were in person quizzes bc hw wasnt required anymore. super caring lots of extra credit, final is optional. course packet is helpful. loved going to css. tests were still p tough if you dont study or struggle w chem
Great professor. Dr. Walker was flexible and overall a great human being. Took her course back in Fall '21 but still remember a lot of chemistry thanks to her. 10/10
