she lectured from slides and only gave tests that were similar to sat questions it was a hard class to get even a C or B in.
She is a fair teacher at best, the class is boring and this "helper" that she has (his name is John) is a jerk. Not helpfull. Do your self a favor and take the lab with someone else!!!!!!!!
Her lectures are incredibly boring and not very useful. She doesn't seem very interested in the material. Her voice is very quiet and hard to understand. And her helper John is a jerk
Deborah is one of the worst instructors I have ever had. She reads from the power point presentation and doesn't relate it to anything to make it easier to understand. She also teaches full time at Washburn so in my opinion she acts like she doesn't care about JCCC and it shows in her teaching skills. I would definately take it with someone else.
This class might be the easiest class I've ever taken, however, its not worth it. The professor is so bad I was not even motivated to do the easiest of things. You don't learn anything, it moves really, really, slow. And then, suddenly, she gives these really hard SAT-like tests that have nothing to do with what you just studied. Stay away.
This professor's class really awesome, although her tests were kind of little difficult, she will give you a lot of chances to push your grade up, she is very student friendly. I think this class will help you to push your grade up.
This is the easiest lab (or class) I have ever taken. You have to literally try to not get a bad grade. She takes late work and is very laid back. She understands that her class is not the only one we are all taking. If you want an easy A then take her class.
I had her for lecture and another instructor for lab. Which I had her for both. Dr. Williams rocks! Interesting subject. Alot of extra reading, though.
She is an awesome teacher. Made me think about the environment. I may change my major. Her exams are sometimes hard but she grades fair.
I agree she is an awesome instructor and relates well to students. Really cute too. I had her for lecture last semester and am taking her lab now. I was undecided, but now I want to major in biology when I transfer. Her lecture exams are hard but not impossible. Take her class.
Deborah's class was good. She's very kind and will help you raise your grade if she can. She always accepts late work. Her lectures can be boring, and she really pushes her environmental science clubs and courses in class. She posts all of her lecture outlines and handouts online, which is convenient. Take her class.
Great teacher! Loves her subject and cares about students. I am a business major and wasn't really interested in this class when I enrolled, but Dr.Williams made class fun and interesting. Take her class!
The reviews and notes seem helpful but her tests are totally off mark. You have to read the entire text to even hope for an A.
I enjoyed this class. Instructor is very nice and hot! There is alot of reading assignments and essay questions but if you do them they will help your grade. If you need this class take Williams. I had a different instructor for lab and she was boring.
Excellent instructor! very helpful! I am retaking this class. Dr. Williams explains the material very well. I actually understand her lectures and want to go to class.
I had her for my environmental science lab. She is super nice and lets you do all the labs and papers in a group, which is the only way I passed the class. Unfortunately, she is kind of forgetful and doesn’t explain things very well at all. For the most part it was an easy A.

Williams loves her subject. This makes her a great teacher. She tells interesting stories from her own experiences that relate to the subject. I recommend her.

She is a scatter brain and never follows through with her promises. Totally unorganized!!! If you want to study and plan ahead, don't take her class. She always changes her mind and never actually posts what she said she will. Study guides are completely off the wall, and do not reflect the tests.

this teacher is really nice and has the best intentions but has too much going on and it is reflected in her class. She can be lenient on some grades but after taking her class, she has not shown up or shown up late without notifying class several times, papers are handed back late, it is just not like a structured class should be.

Easy class bc rarely any HW. EXAMS difficult, WORDED confusingly. Study guide is provided but not a good overview of the test. Doesn't seem to care about students as much as the environment. Spends a lot of time trying to get students involved in reducing green house gases etc. Nice and entertaining teacher, yet I can't say I learned much.

Great Prof. I would take more classes from her but I'm transferring to KU in spring. Tests are hard sometimes, but show up for discussions and answer essay questions and you will help your grade.

Great teacher but i don't like it that she lectures using just slides, which most people find boring so they tend to doze off. She talks all the time so students barely have the opportunity to have an in-class discussion/debate amongst their peers. Her tests are actually not that difficult + she gives you the chances to earn extra credits anyway.

I am taking her environmental science class. While hot, she is NEVER here. We have had a sub every wednesday, and sometimes a sub for a whole week. The whole reason I took this class was to learn from her. She has way too much going on to be a teacher. I am getting an A but wish I hadnt taken her as my teacher. I have learned NOTHING
Although she is pretty cute for her age, she doesn't make the class fun. She lectures the entire time with powerpoint slides. I currently have a b in the class and i've studied only on test days. I wouldn't really recommend her. She knows her stuff but isn't instructor material
She is very busy, but she has subs when she is gone. I have another instructor for lab. IMO Dr. Williams is the best instructor for this class and one of the best I've had at JCCC. I agree she is hot!

The entire class consisted of lectures and more lectures. She was very difficult to reach in order to ask a question outside of class. She was frequently late to class and in the middle of the semester had something come up so she could not teach on Wednesdays. We had a sub, but he was often ill prepared. She does grade on a curve though.
She is a busy person but a great teacher. She deserves a raise.

Study guides for each test... the first test is definately the hardest. Extra Credit is available on tests. Pay attention in class and the study guide and you should be fine

She is NOT a very good online teacher. Students and myself had an extremely hard time communicating with her.We'd email her and not hear back for almost a week. In online classes this is the most important form of communication, she failed at this miserably. Her tests are really hard,class averages are low, around 60-65%.
This was my third class with Dr. Williams. She is a great teacher and her classes make you think. Bioethics was my favorite class with her so far.
Angel set-up isn't always clear or correct. Had to wait for things to be changed often. Easy grading on essays, really hard tests. I don't feel like she was particularly involved with our class. We were mostly on our own.

Environmental Law- This professor knows a lot about the subject and she is pretty fair about her grading but she is a tough professor. Be warned that she is so unorganized at times that it is frustrating. Grades are not posted timely & her Angel page was a mess the entire semester. This class was hard. She expected a lot. Not an easy class.
Sustainability. Very easy class. She is very knowledgeable in what she's teaching but not enough critical thinking assignments for the students to really understand. Lots of field trips and guest lectures made it hard to be motivated for class.

Wonderful class. Professor is passionate about teaching and the subject. Highlight of the semester was a field trip to prairie.I learned as much in this class about Kansas as I have learned living in the state for almost 50 years. I highly recommend this class.
Passionate teacher; very environmentalist and knowledgable. Great and helpful teacher. Teacher showed several videos which attendance on those days are critical. Several essay questions came from video.

This class is easy. Although I didn't score well on the tests because they are not really focused on the study guide she provides. The assignments were clear and she grades fairly.
If you take this course online be prepared to pretty much be on your own. This professor gives very little guidance and provides no feedback on the multiple essays she assigns. The exams are challenging and you don't know what questions you got wrong, you just get your score.
Science is not my thing but professor Williams made this class interesting to me. She is very fair. I had ALOT of questions and she always helped. Exams are tough but you can pull grade up with reflection essays over articles she assigns. Interesting class even to a non science major!
This was an online class. One of the worst online instructors ever! The beginning of the semester her online class page was missing everything. I emailed her about and she said there was some technical issues. This went on all semester long! We didn't have any quizzes or tests within the units just one exam without any study guides.
ALOT of reading but interesting. She is helpful if you email questions. 3 Online short answer exams. Stay up with assignments or they pile up fast!!!
This class is online. Prof requires ALOT of reading, short papers and online discussion. She is flexible and encouraging. Recommend the class and professor.
Took this class online as I needed the BIO credit. The short papers are easy, and she doesn't even look at them, so they can be annoying. The tests make no sense. I literally took the answers from the book in a MC test and ended up with a C. This class is only suggested as a PassFail class which I ended up doing after the first test.
Tests were tough but she grades fair. I got a B.

I was very nervous when I enrolled in this class because I have been out of school for many years and am not a science major. Professor Williams made the class interesting with clear explanations and examples I could relate to. Highly recommend her to other non-traditional students.
Goes off on a lot of tangents that aren't necessarily relevant. Also annoyingly neutral during class discussions, mostly just says "Yes that's a good point." I had a hard time paying attention in class, but then go over the study guide the day before the test and be just fine, I wrote a lot on the short answer questions and always aced those parts.
I took ethics with Deborah and I wish I just took the class online because you will have to teach yourself. All she does is lecture the entire time by reading slideshows. This was the most boring class I have ever taken. I thought ethics was supposed to be fun.. its not. I do not recommend taking ethics with this teacher.
Straightforward online class. 3 exams and reflection essays or discussion questions. This is my second class with Prof. Williams. I would take more classes with her but am graduating this semester.

Easiest class I've ever taken. Showing up to lecture is not necessary. Tests are based directly off slides and all slides are posted online. Couple of papers that are very easy. Study the slides and show up on test days and you'll be solid.

She's very educated & will use advanced vocabulary/terminology when lecturing. If this is your 1st Ethics course ever, you will most likely struggle. She's a very sweet lady, but the way she delivers the content can be hard to understand for people who have no background in Ethics. I used outside sources like CrashCourse & Shmoop to get through it.
Deb was wonderful. The online class was fairly easy, mostly just writing essays and reading articles. You can tell that she really cares about the subject and knows her stuff.
Dr. Williams is great teacher. I like her stories and examples. Im enrolled in another class with her next semester.
Professor Williams only assigned four assignments for the entire semester and doesn't teach you anything. If you can buy the environmental law textbook, you can teach it to yourself better than the class materials could. Waste of money and time.
Im not a fan of online classes but enjoyed Bioethics class with Professoe Williams.
I took this couse online. We were assigned readings and to write a reflection paper. The awful part about the class was the exams. She provided powerpoints for "lecture" obviously meant to be for in-person lectures. It might've been better in person.
Im majoring in Environmental Science so I took the class with Dr. Williams. I had to take the fast paced summer online class because of work. My advice is dont fall behind.

This class had SO much potential to the science-lover, but unfortunately it was kind of throw-together & it took weeks for a small assignment to be graded. A very easy A if you participate, but the teacher has ~5 masters degrees, is a PhD student, and appears to leave BIOL 115 as an afterthought to her busy life. Liked the material but needed more.

Professor Williams is a great speaker and makes lectures more enjoyable. The materials were only exposed through lectures so attendance was important.
Professor Williams is a very sweet lady. She was very student-oriented and was not uptight. The class was somewhat easy, but far too relaxed. It was to the point where there was really no structure, and no one knew what was happening. She reads word for word from the slide and the exams did not seem to match up very well with the lectures.
Doc Williams is my favorite professor. She is super smart and super nice to students. I plan to transfer to UMKC or KU and major in env science/ pre law so my advisor told me I should take classes with Williams. My advisor was right! I took 2 classes with williams this semester and loved bothof them.
I took William's environmental science class. Her structure was easy to follow, and I learned a lot from the lectures and readings. The exams require you to spend a lot of time studying, but she provides study guides. She's one of my favorite teachers I've had so far because she responds fast, even on weekends, and offers great feedback.
Very Good professor, you have to make sure you pay attention in class, easy A. Gives extra credit. Exams 75% of the grade, no retakes. So make sure you know your stuff!
Professor Williams is a great teacher. Class was always out early. I think this truly was the easiest class I've ever had at JCCC. If you need a sci credit just take her. I promise you wont regret it. Shes also super caring and a sweet teacher. Project was using trailcams which was super easy. Trust me on this one, shes the best
Barley any lectures/PowerPoints about the chapters. The required reading for each week are extremely long chapters so be prepared to read. Assignments and exams can be really time consuming (especially exams) so pace yourself carefully and take your time. Other than that great class & professor to learn many things :)
You just listen to her talk every class. One Group Project and it wasn't bad at all. About 3 online test (not proctored) . Assignment due every week. She is very nice and understanding.
