Dr. Wilson was by far my favorite professor at ICC. She made class always interesting. Her classes were more discussion courses than lectures. She got us involved and tried to be funny and was successful sometimes. I highly reccomend her.
Dr. Wilson was very easy. We wrote 4 papers all semester, and one was our research paper. She allows you to do revisions after she grades your first draft and tells you what you did wrong, at which she will average your 2 grades to get your final grade.

Classtime is pretty pointless - usually discuss various political issues. Only 3 short papers & 1 research paper the whole semester. No other homework except an occasional reading assignment. Very generous about due dates - often pushed them back & always accepted lates. Grades pretty fairly.
don't take it if you think its going to be english class, its actually political science. she is not very "with it" and she is always late and is always unorganized, rather clueless actually
Not quite with it. We watched the beginning of Singin' in the Rain 3 times and the ending only once because she wasn't sure how to fast forward. We watched it on laser disk, DVD, and VHS. Really easy tests. Doesn't entirely read tests. Points given on very wrong answers. Only reads certain questions
Easy A people, just sit back and sleep. I didn't even take the midterm and I still got an A in her class.
she's eccentric, okay, she doesn't give papers back very quickly, yea....comes off as a militant feminist, yea...but I genuinly liked her class, she wrote helpful and interesting comments, she's fun, animated, a little weird-yes but its better than a little boring and she doesn't grade harshly.

Extremely unorganized, but hilarious! Just pay attention if you can, and listen to her. I bet she'd be someone really cool to talk to outside of class, but in class it's basically a waste of time. Gives me the credit though, so I'm not complainin'!
sit back and enjoy the show! she knows nothing about vcrs/dvds! someone had to help her figure it out every class! EASY A i never opend the book, or did anyting in class. watch the movie and you will be fine. she sucks talking about things though. kinda a b*tch as well! overall easy A. be in class.
Very interesting teacher. The only hard part of the class was the 6-8 page paper that was due, though she does grade easily. Her not being good with new technology was not a problem with this particular class.

A lot of politics involved, yet it was still a great class. Don't be afraid to state your opinion in your papers. The more you state your opinion, the better you'll do. Overall, a great teacher.
if you just give her your input and stay active during the class it is sooo simple. she will fall in love with you and give you an A. she's a hoot too... very very funny and opinionated. she misses a lot of classes so you hardly have to be there.. :)

I think i was in class more than she was. She was a very political person that did not take other opinoins well at all. I sat in the back of her class and played games all hour on the computer. I didn't listen to one thing she said or buy a book. I got an A.
I had a blast in this class.Its very easy. Just show up in class, be respectful,if you dont know ask, and you'll do great. I was not that interesed in the class before I took it, but now i'm glad I did, cause I got an A. I liked her so well i'm taking her for Eng.111.

Only had to do 4 papers for her class, and let you have 1 revision for each to bring your grade up. We usually spent the whole lecture time debating current events. Very smart, witty, and highly reccomended!!

Completely misunderstood teacher and person in general... She IS a bit different but if you put a little effort into your thoughts and participate in class you will be fine.
Her workload is light and manageable. This class consists of mostly lecture/class discussion. She can sometimes be very opinionated, but I agree she is misunderstood. Sometimes I want to laugh, and sometimes crawl under my desk. However, this class is very doable
Dr. wilson is a great teacher who makes class interresting and debatable. Only had four papers to write and they were easy to do. She tells you exactly what she wants in your paper. She's awesome for film 110 to.
This class is great, and i only had to write four papers. She is opinionated but she will listen to your opinion and willnot take off points. She is a very nice woman, and I would recommend taking her class.

At first, she comes off a little tough. But very quickly you'll realize that she's a great teacher. Cares about what the students are learning and will help you out if you ask.

she had very intersting discussions in this class. there's not much homework. the only homework is writing the papers. after she grades them and gives them back to you, you revise them and then give them back to her and she takes the average of the 2 grades. she is a very nice person, but just don't expect to be a slacker around her!
Dr. Wilson was more then helpful in her description of the course requirements. She also gives you the opportunity to revise your papers after she has read them.
Dr. Wilson is a great teacher. She has an incredible amount of knowledge and is very helpful; of course she doesn't know you need to be helped unless you ask. She pushes essay writing to a higher level. The first class was strange and I thought, "Uh oh." But, the thought changed within minutes. She teaches you to read critically also.
this class was really easy, and dr wilson is very laid back. she cancels class a lot too! sometimes she is bizarre, but she has everyone's best in mind!
At first I thought she was just another liberal professor, but she doesn't push her views on you. She just wants you to think! She gives constructive criticism on each 1st draft for you to correct, and averages the grade. An easy teacher if you pay attention and do the work. Excellent teacher.
This was a fun class and an easy A. You watch a bunch of movies really old and some new, then talk about the color scheme, lighting, and screenshots. She will teach you about these things, most of this stuff you already know if you are a movie watcher. Testing is multiple choice, match, essays, and extra credit of course, that really help.
She asks questions on quizes that were not covered in class or the text. Also she doesn't speak up so it's hard to understand what she's saying half the time.

Really excellent teacher! She is not easy but she's extremely fair. She will give you all the help you need or ask for. Plenty of time to do papers. Cuts class short if she thinks you need it or if she has accomplished what she planned. I recommend.
This lady's a little on the coo coo side if you ask me lol I took this as a minimester and was so glad b/c it would have been so drug out over a semester.The test/quizes are easy but there are some ?'s that she doesn't cover, but u just bull crap your way through them all, literally! and you get them right. She's kinda humorous as times too.
she's a crazy one. on the very first day of class, the first words she said to our class was "welcome to hell." haha but she's a great teacher. she is fair and lets you know what you think. some material covered in class is irrelevant to what you are studying. grades papers hard but tells you EXACTLY how to fix them. easy passing class. RECOMMEND!
This lady has serious issues. She puts stuff on test that you have never even heard of before and she does not know how to teach. do not take this class

Debra is not my favorite teacher. As far as work goes, all you do in class is watch movies and talk about nonsense related to humanities. I was excited to start this class until all we talked about was death and war. I have nightmare. She should stick to teaching English and get away from Humanities.
This lady is crazy! She's constantly late for class by a normal of 10-14 minutes, today it was 20. If she does teach she talks about completely random stuff that really has nothing to do with what we're doing. She grades HARD and although she may tell you what to fix in your paper, she still finds something else wrong. Don't take this class!
I had her for Film 110 and Eng 111. both were easy but I feel as if I am a better at writing papers. I feel as if I learned more about films. Her film class is very easy, Eng is a little harder but still easy if you try hard. She does seem to care about the students, she's a little eccentric but nice. If you have to take Eng 111 take it w/ Wilson!!
It is an ok class, she grades moderate on your first draft but then bumps your grade up a lot on revisions. However, I did think it was extremely annoying for her to show up every day 20 minutes late. Then she would punish kids who left because they thought she was a no show.

She's helpful with extending due dates and she gives you a LOT of comments on your work and lets you revise every paper so you can do better on it and improve. So, educationally shes pretty good. however, expect to be writing about politics 95% of the time. She's pretty stubborn and argumentative. kinda grouchy. but she's leniant w/ dates so its OK
She is a very fair grader. She gives plenty of notice on assignments, and is extremely helpful on your assignments. She makes herself readily avalible to the students. She loves to get class discussions going. Never a dull lecture class. And she is very careful to never waste your time.

I loved Dr. Wilson. Although sometimes the assignments were hard to understand, she was always happy to help, and if you needed extra help she is very understanding. She's a great teacher.
Took this class in the spring of 07. All assignments and tests are essays. She lets you use notes and printouts on tests and you get to revise any essay assignments. You watch movies in her class every few weeks but pay attention because youll be writing an essay about them. Id recommend her to anyone taking this class.

Taking her as mini and it is the easiest class. She is very intelligent but she knows not everyone has a big interest in sitting in class all day. Really glad I took this as a mini because this class would seem so long througout an entire semester. I recommend her.

Ive taken her for Film, English 111 and Literature and Humanities. She is astounding, funny, helpful.. okay sometimes she rolls in to class 5 minutes late, which is fine by me! As long as you love writing essays you will do great! Fascinating subjects, never makes you learn anything pointless.Def RECOMMEND!Shes an inspiration,so helpful.
Dr. Wilson is hilarious, she's very smart & her class is ridiculously easy. She is easy to talk to, and will work with the student if they ask for it.
Best teacher I have ever had. Very difficult grading but I feel I most improved in her class. Lots of writing and research. She is not a "snuggly" person. Exactly what I expected all professors to be like. Think Dr. Cox from Scrubs but a woman. Like I said, my favorite teacher I have ever had.
This professor is hard to understand. She rambles on and on about movies and places that are not only irrelevant but unheard of by the entirety of the class. Then she expects us to take notes on her psychobable and then take a test on it. also she grades very unfairly. She will mark off points for the little things. this is an INTRO COURSE!

I took this class summer 2011 and she was great! I don't know what a lot of people are saying but if u do the study guide and ask questions she tells u exactly what she wants on her test. No way to fail this Film class what so ever unless you're lazy... point blank. Great professor!!!
Her lectures usually make absolutely no sense, she just babbles about off topic things she heard on NPR or stuff from her Film class. She gives you essays to write that are unclear, and when she critiques what you've written you're guessing what she is trying to say. If you're good at B.S.ing your work you'll do fine. She grades hard though.
Dr. Wilson can seem very intimidating, but it gets better the farther you get into the semester. She likes to ramble...a lot. I actually did very well on the papers. You always get the chance the revise. She extended deadlines a lot and is willing to help if you are sincere and willing to improve. No other homework except papers and revisions!

the class overall wasnt to bad. it wasnt extremely difficult but the ovies are old school and can sometimes be boring. wilson is very sarcastic but will answer any questions to the best of her ability.
We really never talked in class about anything but we did watch some good movies. Her class is super duper easy if you study a little. The lowest grade I obtained was a B on her first quiz. She is funny and very sarcastic.

Only grades you have are tests. They are easy to get an A on, if you study a little bit. The tests are over definitions, memorize those and you'll be fine.
Nice lady, grades fairly as long as you do the work. Allows time in class for you to work on assignments. I took both classes during summer. She grades your first draft and averages it with your final draft. Does NOT spend ANY time discussing formatting, outline, or any essentials for paper writing. Felt like I winged it half the time.

Her feedback can be tough to understand at times but if you ask her to clarify she will try her best to help you understand. Seems really tough at first but she is actually pretty easy going.

I had Dr. Wilson last spring for Humanities 125. She's very easy going and likable. She cancelled class quite a few times, which helped when I couldn't show up to lecture. We only had one book to read and watched a lot of movies. The material was simple, but make sure to take notes because you can use them on the midterm and final. Highly recommend
I have mixed feelings. Good: she tells you exactly what she wants fixed on papers and her classes are often cancelled entirely or short. Bad: she is a VERY picky grader. I once got marked down a letter grade on a revision for not citing page numbers on an ORAL speech. She is also usually late for class by at least 5 min. Talks a LOT about politics.
Helped me through a bit of a crisis I was having about college and careers. Is spectacularly helpful if you ask. Fun lectures, though she frequently shows up late. One of the most thought provoking classes I've ever had.
Deborah is probably the best professor I have ever had. She doesn't enjoy the doctor title so be sure to call her Deborah. She is very helpful and very knowledgeable especially when it comes to knowing everybody's names. I hope she's here for another 20 years!

Dr. Wilson is honestly one of the most kind professors I have encountered during my 2 years at ICC. I took her for English 111 and Film 110 and I would have to say that when it came to me asking for extra help she was always their for me and it payed off in the end. I received a B in my English (She is a tough grader) and an A in Film (SG's)
She is really awesome! At first, I didnt think I would like her but she quickly grew on me. She really knows her stuff! She gives GREAT feedback. We watch some awesome movies which you never think will relate but they do everytime. No homework, no test. Just 2 papers, a midterm (essay format), and final (essay format). Super manageable! HIGHLY REC!
Summer class. Good teacher but odd. She would seem like she had an attitude for no reason. The class was easy and there wasn't much to learn. Some reading here and there but it does make you look at movies analytically once you finish the class. Can't help but notice the camera angles and shots in every movie lol.

If you're looking for an English class with few papers and little reading, this is the one for you. If you're looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. Lectures often seemed to have little point, and while I was able to do well in this class, I accredit my success to a similar class I took in high school with MUCH more depth than this 1
She's a difficult professor but the class was easy to follow. Wilson is definitely not one for electronics, and spent most class periods cursing her computer, then doing the lesson instead on the whiteboard. Assigns very little homework but that means that the few long papers and exams she does give can make or break your grade. Great class.
All she speaks of is politics. She forces you to agree with her political views or fail. Her grading makes no sense. Most days she is halfway present at most. Worst instructor ever.
Literally never talked about English once. We talked about Donald trump and Obama every day, could have never attended a class and still learned the same amount.
If you need fine arts credit, do it with any other professor. Dr. Wilson was late by 10-15min almost every day (but miss 2+ periods, she drops you). She says her classes are based on discussion, but be prepared for long lectures. I get the feeling that she is a brilliant and interesting person but this class was a chore.

Had her for Comp II and I thought she was hilarious. Very dry and a little all over the place, but there is a method to her madness. She asked at the beginning of the semester who thought they were good writers and I verified it by having her grade my final essay as marvelous. If you can write, you win. It's Comp II, you should know english by now.

This class was somewhat easy, but dragged on for hours. Ms Wilson is hard of hearing, doesnt notice when people have their hands raised, and is just downright rude. Shes a tough grader & will take off points if she doesnt understand your writing. This class was extremely boring, and the worst parts were when she lectured endlessly about nothing.
I took this class online. She expects a lot out of you. Multiple assignments due every week by Friday. My biggest issue with her is that I had a death in the family and she wanted me to prove it! I lost all respect for her then. I was glad when the class was over.

Grade is determined by four things, two tests and two papers. Is quite tough grading the papers, but does give you a chance to revise them. Basically all you do is watch videos and sometimes read out of the book.
Okay people listen up (if you know, you know) I enjoyed being in class solely because it was entertaining. Responding to emails, technology, and human interaction are not her strengths. I understand online leaning takes some getting used to but she was not familiar with setting up places to turn our assignments in and would not respond to emails quickly, which made this class very frustrating. She would also send rude announcements when multiple students emailed her regarding an assignment that she did not explain.

Do not take ENGL 111 with this professor!!! She had us write an 8-12 page paper and a 3-5 page paper in the same week. Her directions are unclear and she is difficult to understand. She does not reply to emails. When speaking to other students in ENGL 111, their professors gave them nowhere near this amount of homework.

If I performed at my job the way Dr Wilson performs hers I would be fired. She is late every class upwards of 20 minutes. She gives constant misinformation about what will be on tests, forgets what we were doing, and doesnt want to listen to students when they try to get her back on track. Disorganized mess that gives students anxiety. Run away.
Wilson is always late. She teaches a total of 10 mins every other 90min class period. The rest of the time we just watch movies. She gives a study guide for each quiz/ test and claims everything on the quiz/ test is on there, which isn't true. She doesn't teach much of the material but it's 99% of it is in the book. Easy elective
Her lectures are confused, unintelligible rants, that go on long, drawn out tangents which do no relate to the course content. What exactly we are supposed to be learning is unclear. The assignments do not relate to course content and the exams have content not covered in lecture. It has been the most confusing educational experience of my life.
Do not take this class with Professor Wilson. She is late to every class and complains when students are late. She does not put any grades in and expects you to know your grade. She is also passive aggressive and should retire at this point. Only plus is no midterms or finals. Also if there is any weather other than clear skies she cancels class.
Dr. Wilson is a tough grader, however I've learned lots from listening to her talk and I feel like I've genuinely become a better writer. That said, if you're not already good at writing (As and Bs), Dr. Wilson's grading will seem very harsh. If you're thinking of taking her class, brush up on grammar and don't use passive voice!

I thought Dr. Wilson was a great teacher. Don't let the negative feedback from a lot of students scare you. She does gets a little too political for a teacher, but she is an extremely intelligent professor who is passionate about what she teaches, at least for humanities. Take one of her classes if you want an easy A or B.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Basically every lecture consisted of some sort of political rants or something completely unrelated to the class. Instructions almost always unclear, due dates constantly being moved forward and backward, frequently cancels class.

Very political, not sure how many things related to the curriculum. Lectured about unrelated things most classes. Unclear with what she wanted for papers.
Frequently late to class. Shows very graphic and disturbing videos with no warning, and then doesn't talk about them after. Always left class confused and nauseous. Not very tech savvy, curses at the computer after she searches on google in her computer settings. It was fun at first but would not take her again.

She ended up not even showing up for our final as she thought it was a different time, even though we confirmed the date and time multiple times and days prior.
Dr. Wilson was an awful teacher. Grading criteria was never clear, when you would ask questions she would either treat you with respect or condescension. Never on time, making students wait over 10 minutes to even get in the classroom. Then the class doesn't start for another 20 because she doesn't know how computers work.
Worst professor. She's so rude to students and never remembers when things were due. Blamed us always. She was never on time for class. Class is pretty easy as there are only a few tests and papers, but nothing is put on Canvas so you don't know what your grade is till the very end. Never knew students names or pronounced them right. Do. Not. Take.
I took her 110 with an A, and 111 with a B, several years ago. If you listen to her "rants", you may just learn something. She's very intelligent, and actually very caring. She has her moments, does not like to be disrespected, and rightfully so. She is a great professor and if you put forth the effort, to an "undesirable" subject, you will learn.
It should be common knowledge that if you are incompetent in both communication and technology, perhaps you should NOT be the professor of an ONLINE class. Every day was a new Canvas announcement saying that she couldn't figure out the technology. We saw NO grades until the very end of the semester. Disorganized, confused excuse of a professor.
Prof. Wilson was horrible with technology, not tech savvy whatsoever. Rarely replied to emails in time. It was a horrible experience taking an online class with her. Every other student would probably say the same. We had to use the discussion feature in Canvas to communicate our issues about her, because it was that bad. Avoid taking her class.
Prof Wilson can be tough, but if you put in the work, you'll learn a lot. Her grading is harsh, but the lectures are worth it. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for study prep.
