Debra is a very helpful and takes the time to explain concepts thoroughly. She makes the class interesting by infusing real life experience and current events.

Strict on attendance, homework, and quizes. Tests were not hard and the final was a breeze. She was very fair with her grading. I'd recommend her as a teacher just make sure you do your homework and study for quizes and tests. Oh, she does drop your loswest quiz grade so that helps. :)

I guess her class is no longer a breeze. She's really nice and still drops the lowest quiz grade, but the tests can be challenging and the homework is time consuming. This is a class where you are required to do much more than just show up, there are two events outside of class you must attend and homework and quizzes nearly every week.

Ms. Benson is the best prof. I've ever had. I have never worked that hard to get a grade. Class is tough and tests are even harder, but I enjoyed every minute of it. She takes time out to help you no matter what. Rewards you if you show up every day. Just the best teacher ever. Make sure you sit up front. She'll love you for it.

Professor Benson is very passionate about teaching accounting and very concerned about her students learning the material. She is very fair and a very nice and considerate instructor. She is creative in her ability to break down the subject of accounting in a manner in which students, who are not typically good math students, can grasp and apply.

Mrs. Benson really makes you work in her class, but she covers all aspects of the class. Homework is from the book but is online through a website she gives you access to. As long as you attempt it 3 times you will pass with all homework points. Tests are long, but questions are from all aspects covered. Sheis very friendly and helpful.

Very helpful teacher! I took the online class and she is ALWAYS on top of things. She offers various extra credit opportunities, which really help your grade. The tests and quizzes were hard but if you do all your homework and do decent on the tests you can EASILY get a B. I got a high B but could have easily gotten an A if I did better on quizzes.

Mrs. Benson is probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. You'll have to work for a good great in the class, but she's so nice and helpful that anyone can pass her class! A+ professor!!!

Great teacher, very willing to help you. Tests are pretty hard and you definitely have to work hard in her class but overall she is a good teacher, give a decent amount of extra credit and weekly homework assignments which are not too bad and help out a lot!

Took online. If you really get into the material, you have a good chance of doing well. You have all the points you need to get a good grade. This is college accounting, so it is hard and will require more research than the text book. Teacher is very helpful, and quick to respond. I put forth a very small effort and could have managed a B

Took Online Fall Sem, prof tries to help but is difficult in an online setting. Chance for bonus points, extra credit assing. More work than my other three classes combined. Not a terrible slot, but not for you if you cannot do acct all on your own. Follow her direction and syllabus word for word or she will deduct points.

Online class with a fair amount of work. The weekly homework assignments start to get annoying after 6 weeks but it helps your grade. 7 quizzes with only a 20 minute time limit but only count as 70 points toward your grade. Tests and finals were not too hard. Just do all the work and average a C on the tests and you should get a B.

Took this class online. There's a weekly homework assignment and quiz. There are 2 tests and a final. Its hard material and since it's online you are basically teaching yourself, but she responds to questions and is helpful overall.

I took this class online, and I am satisfied with this online setting. The professor is very helpful by providing study guides and answering questions students had. Accounting is really not that hard if you read the book, do the h/w, and study. I recommend you take this class for financial accounting.

I took this class online. She wants every one of her students to succeed. Her quizzes and tests are challenging, but if you do all the homework, discussion questions, and study, you'll pass! She offers her regular office hours and recommends tutoring for those who are struggling!

Really sweet lady! Very passionate about AT&T & Accounting. Very helpful, responded to e-mails QUICK! Answered a lot of student's questions, which got annoying at times. But the class overall was ok, she was very knowledgeable. And was super good with learning names!The book is very helpful with examples that clarify any confusion.

Summer online class: Curriculum organized and easy to understand. Mrs. Benson went the extra mile by providing video presentations. She also responded quickly to messages. 50% of grade is from tests. Scary right. Don't worry though. If you are driven and motivated and complete all assignments, the tests will be a breeze and an A is easy.

Took ACCT 2100 online this summer. Read the textbook, Do the assignment. Take quiz and tests. Easy A. If you are not sure about the stuff, just ask her via email or whatever. She will answer it real quick for you.

I took this class online and at first I found the material difficult but after putting forth more effort I was able to get a grasp on it. There are weekly timed quizzes and weekly homework. There are also two timed tests and a timed final. Also, there was a chance for extra credit. Professor Benson is very helpful when you ask her questions.

TAKE HER, especially if it's your first accounting class. She is so helpful and really makes sure that everybody understands everything before moving on. There are weekly quizzes and homework, but they are not that hard. She gives random extra credit in class and it is really helpful to attend but not mandatory. She is a great teacher.

This class is very difficult but she makes it relatively easy. The online homework and quizzes are annoying but Professor Benson is good at explaining things. If you don't understand something then she will be more than happy to help you. She responds to emails very quickly and she's a nice lady. I would retake her for sure.

She's the sweetest thing! She'll explain everything twice if she needs to & helps you through difficult concepts. There are weekly HW & quizzes, but they're not terrible. Plus you can ask her questions through GA View (D2L) & she'll answer quickly. The tests aren't bad if you study. Gives random opportunities for extra credit, so come to class.

uhm...she can't teach...she is super nice, and very helpful with questions you have BUT..you will only do well in this class if you study and teach YOURSELF..her lectures are not that helpful to the HW due and HW is not helpful for the test... but again, if you rather teach yourself everything then take her...

I really enjoyed this class. I never once opened my book, but alway was in class. If you put forth the effort, it should be an easy A. She is very helpful and knows alot about the subject. I wish I would have made more of an effort. Should have been an easy B.

Mrs. Benson is very nice and sweet. She gives plenty of examples during her lectures, but sometimes confuses herself when someone asks a question. Test are VERY hard and not like the hw. Does not curve at all. Made a B with ALOT of studying for the final, which is comprehensive and you can not exempt.

Insightful teacher and fun class. Heavy textbook knowledge on the tests. She has real world experience and I learned a lot from her anecdotes as well as her explanation of the materials.

This professor is great. You have to do assignments online every week and a quiz. Her tests are easy and many questions come from the quizzes. She will explain things a thousand times until you get it and she is always excited to explain things twice.

You do have to show up for class and pay attention to the lecture. But if you pay attention during lecture, you should pass easily. Does have a big extra credit project which helps. Does tell you what you need to study for the tests and day before test is review. The two projects were not that bad. She is a very nice lady and would take again.

She's is a great teacher who tries to help you understand accounting by guessing you short cuts if you go to class. She loves working with Excel, which wasn't my favorite because you could see how she got answers but she has no problem going back to help you understand.

I HATE accounting! Mrs. Benson is an awesome teacher. Very easy to talk to. All assignments are straight forward. There is an online discussion every week! Always forgot about it. Took her for ACCT 2100 and 2200.

She's low-key MEAN and disrespectful. Seems like a nice lady but gets annoyed fairly often. Usually didn't go to class for that reason. LearnSmart and connect really helped me get an A in this class. Plenty of study material to go over throughout the semester and she gives extra credit (thats the only reason helpfulness is at a 4).

I loved this teacher. Truly a kind woman who really enjoys teaching. Participate in her class. Do the homework. Don't be afraid to ask questions. She will take the time to explain things if you are struggling.

Debra is a nice lady but she doesn't explain any of the material in class. All she does is go over problems. There is plenty of hw and extra credit opportunities.

Professor Benson is a great professor. For me accounting is just difficult and she provides alot of extra help using online resources.

In my opinion, Professor Benson made Accounting pretty straightforward and easy! She posted all of her lectures recorded online, gave extra credit, and posted lots of studying resources online. Also, she's very approachable and open to answering questions during class. I would definitely recommend her!

Solid professor for my accounting class. I struggled early in the class but she helped me identify where I was making mistakes. Put in the effort and got an A despite early hiccups. Great teacher!

Very friendly teacher. The course itself requires lots of work (not just her). Tests were difficult but the content was not the easiest for me to understand. You can do well on all the homeworks and quizzes and still make a B. She posts examples and short notes online too. Attendance was not a part of the grade.

I added a minor in accounting solely because of Professor Benson's class. She made concepts easy to understand, used plenty of examples, and gave plenty of extra credit and homework opportunities with Connect. Pay attention in class and you're set. I would definitely recommend her, accounting major or not.

LOVED PROF BENSON! She's awesome! There are so many opportunities for extra credit if you take advantage of them. She covers material with loads of examples that are placed on the tests as well. Answers q's clearly. She allows you to have a half sheet of notes for tests. 2 tests, cumulative final, chapter assignments. I wouldn't take anyone else!!!

She is great! You have to come to class to understand the material. There are 2 tests and a lot of homework on a website that is worth a lot of credit. The final was cumulative and mandatory. Overall, easy class if you go to class and take time to learn the material.

Professor Benson is the best teacher when it comes to Accounting! She taught the material in a way that was easy to understand, and she was more than willing to help you when things were confusing. As long as you study, the tests were easy as well as the homework. I would highly recommend taking her class!

If you ask her a question she has answered fifty times already she will get sassy, but who wouldn't. Ms. Benson was very quick to respond and was very helpful when you had questions. I had more homework in this class than all of my others combined but it was all very helpful if you took your time with the assignments.

Mrs. Benson makes you work for your A. But she does everything in her power to help you get there. Just show the effort, do the homework, connect, extra credit, projects, and ask her questions. She will remember you. I really enjoyed this class because she made it easy to understand. Shes all about helping the students. AWESOME PROFESSOR!

This was by far the easiest class I have taken during my time at Kennesaw. There were no tests, just case studies which were amazingly simple. She is a really easy grader. If you want an easy A take the class. I didn't really learn anything about Internal Audit. The guest speakers were cool and informative.

Ms. Benson is an amazing teacher. Her lectures can be very repetitive but it really helps in the long run. She makes you work for an A, but it is definitely doable. If you read the textbook before a lecture to follow along, it helps so much. Simply show up, follow along in the lectures, do the assignments, DO THE TEST REVIEWS and you're good!

She's a great professor and loves what she does. No exams, 1-2 page papers based on cases from text, can work on with partners. Tough but fair grader. Make sure you read the case questions carefully, her grading is very specific to completely answering only what has been asked. Takes attendance, no cell phones or laptops, discussion based classes.

Professor Benson was awesome took her online class the material isn't for everyone but it's required. I think the class was fair I don't like assignments being due in Connect and on D2L but overall the class wasn't too difficult.

I have taken Professor Benson for the second time and would take her again. Her online class is well organized with clear due dates. Her final was in a proctored environment so you need to know the information in and out at least by the end of the semester but she gives so much extra credit so you do well. She is quick to respond to emails too.

Really glad I got her for ACCT2200. I was last minute registering and lucked out with her as a professor. She teaches in a way that helps us understand why we do what we do rather than just memorizing formulas. Connect must be purchased to do homework assignments. If you like night classes her 8pm class is smaller. Randomly checks attendance.

She cares about all of her students and gives extra credit before all 3 tests. The test are really similar to the extra credit and she is very helpful and good at explaining the material. Easy A if you do everything on connect which isnt a lot.

OK so she's not the best professor; however, she not the worst. I really feel like accounting is one of those subjects where you kinda have to teach yourself at times. (Pro's) if you took accounting 2100 and bought an Ebook you don't have to buy a new one for 2200. (Cons) the HW on the Ebook is more time consuming than 2100. But I would take her.

She goes through each concept slowly until it is crystal clear to students, so I never had to worry about teaching myself the course material. I still read the book to supplement my learning, but she teaches most of what you need to know in class. The tests are fair, and she really seems to care about her student. An 'A' is definitely attainable.

Best Accounting professor at KSU! Always goes the extra step to make sure you understand the material. Gives a few shortcuts so you don't have to remember formulas. Plenty opportunities for extra credit. Very sweet and caring!

Debra was my favorite Accounting professor Ive taken at KSU and one of my favorite classes at KSU because of her. Shes sweet and will teach you the eqautions in class that are easier than the book. Go to class and you should easily pull out a B if your not good at Accounting or an A.

Class is almost all in connect with Learnsmarts, quizzes, exams and extra credit done there. Easy enough class if you do the work, I missed several Learnsmarts and HW assignments and ended with a C but my test average was a 95. Exams are easier than quizzes which is nice.

I believe I was in her last class at KSU so I doubt this page will be visited much, but she was a pretty good professor. Managerial accounting is easier than financial, but once again the quizzes are harder than the exams. I believe that is the KSU curriculum and not the fault of the professors. She let us out early most of the time which was nice.
