She is a cool teacher. She will help all u need. Take her if u can.
she does not explain well at all. you better be prepared to teach yourself!!
Very unorganized. If you can't teach yourself out of the book don't take her.
She is unorganized. She is not understanding if you have a personal problem. I do not recommend her.
Actually, if it looks like you're trying (and okay, if she likes you), she'll pass you.
I Debra several years ago and she truly was a blessing. She helped me even when I got into Calculas because the other fellas over in the Math building were to full of themselves to teach. God Bless You My Friend!!!!!!!!

She was a great help if it wasn't for her I would still be taking that damn class.
Big class, but I feel like it is small because she is willing to answer questions before after class and during office hours.
Good teacher, but she gets a little happy giving out homework. Good explainer though.
Great, loves to help students. Goes the extra mile every day.
Dr. Bryant is the most helpful professor that I have encountered at TTU. Her door is always open and she wants her students to succeed. Hats off to you Dr. B.
Most helpful math teacher I have ever had. She is hard, but fair!
She rocks!
Ask for help and you get it.
Very helpful teacher. Shouldn't ever drop her class, gets crazy with extra credit at the end. Very helpful and is always there if you need her. Thanks Dr. B!!!
I do not like this woman!!! She failed me, after I had done well on the tests and homework and only missed one day! If you are a football player, take her. But if you are an attractive female, do not take her. She will fail you b/c she is jealous.

I can't believe you people are talking about the same Debra Bryant. She is evil!! Very rude and hateful to females. It was awful
She's ok. I can tell she wasn't a very good math student in her day, or if she was she did most of it by memory. She gets stumped on concepts. Doesn't really know the why, only the "way it is". Not always clear but she tries to be. Will help if
Great class, well planned and taught. She gives lots of help online and in her office.
Dr. Bryant is a very unorganized teacher. There are certain individuals that are treated with more respect. She is willing to "help" anyone who shows up at her office. However, if you do go to receive help she demeans you. She is a really ba
Excellent teacher. The quizzes and tests are easy IF YOU PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. Her homework system is very fair and helpful. If you ask her for help she will gladly help you help yourself, which is what a good teacher should do.
UHHHHHH...She is absent-minded and hateful. She doesnt seem to know math really well. If you go to ask her a question she thinks you`re dumb
Made me love math again. Don't know why she is getting bad reviews. Really helpful and concerned.
She's a very nice lady. She's willing to help you if you give it your all which it should be like that. Always work the review problems... especially helps for final time.
Wow, makes calculus easy.
Ms.Bryant gets you in the mood for math. There is no mono-tone in this class. She is very upidty and helps with all her might!!!!! I really recommend taking her for any math.
Nice lady, little strange, but what do u expect she is a math teacher. easy b, might get a if u put forth a bit of effort. would take again
Very nice teacher. She is very helpful if you try and study you will do good. She is also a Christian that means a lot. There are not many Christian professors anymore.
Rude person. Confusing to understand. Unprepared for class. Bottom Line. Find another teacher. Sorry.
Dr. Bryant really knows her math. She's a very good Christian person, and she'll help you whenever you need it. I loved her class!
she was great!!!
not good, bad attitude, condescending....lost!
This teacher is very confusing. She is rude if you try to receive help in her office. She makes everything harder than it should be. DO NOT TAKE HER. Try and make sure you are at each class.
Help sessions before each class, well-prepared, WILL HELP ANY TIME IN HER OFFICE. She does want it done the book way even if you know another method.
She is TERRIBLE!!! Do not take her if at all possible. She does not make any sense, and cannot explain the problems she does. "That's just the way it is." is the answer you will get most of the time.
Are personalities got the worse of each other i made her leave the classroom because i put three homework poblems on the bored istead of two.She has two personalites sometimes mean and sometimes nice she is easy and gives you lots of chances to bring up your grade i have an A just do your homework.
let me just say, i've never had her for a teacher but i did have for a "sub" many times and this woman is crazy. even if she doesn't pick on you personally, you just want to hit her in the face. her voice is terrible too, everything she does pisses everyone off. don't take her math class.
Well-prepared, especially if I had also done my homework DUH!! Help sessions were great. Love to take her for another class.
she taught unclearly, and made everything confusing and the tests were extremely difficult
Dr. B is way cool!
Great, Great, Great......what else can I say?
She's an easy teacher, offers a lot of extra credit. Her Lecture in this class was a little hard to follow because she had no clue what she was talking about and often had to fix her notes the following class time
DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD AN INTODUCTION TO CALCULUS. She does give tons of help with her study sessions before each class. Quizzes and tests are VERY tricky and surprisingly different from what she lectured. If you do your homework, you'll be at a great advantage. I didn't and made a C.
I really enjoyed having Dr. Bryant as a teacher. If you do your homework, attend class, take good notes, and study a little, an A is definitely attainable. I would recommend her to anyone.
alright
I dont really care for her. I dread coming to her class because she is very confusing and talk to you like you are dumb. I just cant wait to finish that class. Makes things harder than what they really are and thinks she is always right and never wrong.
DONT NOT TAKE HER IF YOU DONT HAVE TO!!! If I didnt have a good math teacher in highschool I would have not known what she was talking about!!!! She does not explain things well at all.
She gives WAYYYY too much homework, and then grades it for accuracy! I thought the point of the homework was to learn it, not to turn it into a mini-test. She is confusing to listen to, which makes the homework extra hard. Also not understanding of personal problems, although she wants you to take an interest in hers.
She Tries to be funny which is kinda funny if you know what i mean. She's an ok teacher kinda boring at times I would recomend a different teacher if you have never had Algebra 2 in highschool or recently
she doesn't care at all about people's personal problems, and expects you to feel sorry for her when something is going on with her. also talks down to students.

If you love to be self taught you will love this gal...She expects for you to have a lot of knowledge coming into the class when its "concepts" of calculus....therefore the student doesnt have a concept of it... Talks down to students and forget about asking questions unless you want to be publically humiliated for your lack of knowledge.
She is a BAD teacher. She is hateful with students when they ask questions. Take another teacher. DO NOT TAKE BRYANT!
My advise to all do not take her she is the worst math teacher i have ever had... she does not explain anything clearly, she assigns bunches of homework and takes the majority of it up for a grade. When you miss a problem she does not explain to where you might understand it....

Dr. B gives clear notes and tests over what is taught. She does have a "hang-up" about cell phones though.
very hard, gives to much homework
She's a math teacher, so in return she will get bad ratings on this site. Everyone needs to give the lady a break, she isn't that bad.
Ms. Bryant regardles of what others might say is a very good teacher. She takes her time and goes over what is needed however many times it takes till she absolutely has to move on. She gives you every oppourtunity to meet with her to talk about whats giving you trouble. She will modify grading and work for YOU. GIVE HER A CHANCE!!!!!
She may come off as really strict and hard at first, but give her some time. It is definately a lot of work and can be challenging, but just go to her during her office hours and she will be more than happy to help. I stuck it out, and recieved an A.
This woman about drove me insane! she made very corny jokes.. and didn't explain the material well at all. it is useless to go to make an appointment for help because you don't learn anything! if you have to take this class or another one that she might teach don't take her!
She teaches as if you were in a first grade class and she is absolutely crazy! Poor lady, nice at heart but i don't really know if teaching was her calling! However it could be the idiotic people that are in the class!
She just makes you feel dumb like she doesnt help at all
She was a horrible teacher. I think she thought she was teaching kindergarden. She was incomprehensible. No one wanted to come to class because it was useless. I was passing that class with a C, and the final exam failed me for the class. I am not good in math but I have never failed a class in my life until this one! I suggest taking Cobble
Dr. Bryant is a very good teacher! I have her now, she is very clear on what she goes over, and she is very willing to help you if necessary! I suggest taking her, but do not take Coble, because he is ridiculous, he knows his stuff, but not how to teach it! TAKE HER!
She's a great teacher. She encourages you to get help if you need it. She goes over homework in class if you need help. She's the best math teacher I've had at Tech.
I do not know why everyone is complaining about Dr. Bryant! She is a really great teacher! She goes at a slower pace than other professors so that you can understand, and she is always willing to help you after class during her office hours! She may be rude sometimes, and you may have a lot of homework, but trust me it is worth it,because you learn
This is the worst math teacher I have ever had. I am not very good in math, and this teacher served as no help. DO NOT take this teacher unless you absolutely must. She has not idea what she is talking about most ALL of the time. Very confusing teacher. Don't get me wrong, she means well, and is nice, but teaching isn't her thing!!! I warn you!
The worst math teacher ever. You do all the homework that she gives and you will be surprised that none of those homework questions will be on the quizzes or testes. DON?T TAKE HERE If you are seeking for a good grade!!!
Why is everyone saying she is mean or hard? I hate math and still do. I have never had a teacher explain math like she does. If fact everyone in class said that. She is helpful and clear. If you have to take a math, take her!
Easy Tests, Daily Quizes, The Final is Hard... it comes out of the woodwork... did not expect it. Made an A though
Dr. Bryant is a great teacher! She gives extra credit for attendence on some days. She uses MyMathLab and that is where all the homework and tests are taken.I recommend getting the harcover book if you can.She is very willing to talk to you before or after class.Bring in problems if you have trouble with them.Make sure you study though.EASY=study!
Extremely nice and helpful. I'm not good in math, so i struggled a little, but I still really liked her.
I had Dr. Bryant for DSPM 0800. She is a great professor, she makes you do a lot of homework, but its for your benefit so that you know the material. you do homework online and in the book. She will talk to you before and after class. Great Christian lady, but a little hardnosed as a professor, but I loved her!!
Dr. Bryant is very sweet and helpful. She offers so much extra time out of class so you can get help if you need it. Gives lot of homework, but it wasn't too overwhelming. I highly suggest taking her.
this class was pretty easy. she's helpful and she gives good notes. of course, you'll have 2 study 2 get a good grade in her class. go 2 class because she usually gives a daily grade. tests/quizzes are fairly straightforward. the final comes from mainly tests/quizzes. i got an A in the class and i would definitely recommend her.
What a fantastic prof. Dr. Byrant is. I took her class after flunking Cobble's what a difference. She makes time for you and does not ridicule anyone. Even took her for the Summer she was even better. Need to take her to lunch now that I am no longer in her class, she changed me.
Concepts of Calculus. Impossible to learn with 150+ students in class.. Attendance isnt mandatory, but you get 'daily grades'that really help you none in the grade column. she WILL help you if you go see her after class hours( defeats the purpose of going to class) She could care less if you pass or fail. I heard come straight from her mouth.
Just don't.... It's too big of a headache with her!
This woman is a terrible lady. She doesn't give a flying flip for anyone. She thinks she is better then you. She wont help you out. She cant teach even if her life depended on it. I would not recommend anyone to take this lady. I recommend satin before i ever recommended her.
great teacher would take again. go to class its entertaining. does easy daily grades sometimes. wonderful teacher that loves it when u give her a little attention and will do anything to help you. TAKE HER
She is NOT helpful at all. She does think she is better than you but, she does make class kinda fun by being funny sometimes its not useful but, whatever. She uses coursecompass which is an online thing. I would not really recommend this teacher.
She is so self rightious and mean. She will call you out in front of everyone for doing nothing. She seems angry 24/7! I would not take her if you can avoid it!
Dr. Bryant's Concepts of Calculus class was not a very productive class; I don't feel like she made the material understandable! She was extremely moody and very unorganized!
Great teacher is very helpful if you show you are trying. Defiantly go to her office for help and stay after class with any questions. I am terrible at math and I passed with an A. She gives extra credit often, defiantly have to attend class. Overall I thought she was a great teacher !
Loved her class. Made all A's. All the tests are online do the practice tests and you'll make an A and if not she always goes over the test to give extra points. Such an easy class i'm taking her for DSPW 850
Shes a very good teacher and very helpful. all the test and quizzes are online. make sure to do the practice tests ans you'll do fine. if not she gives extra points on the tests. shes so good in taking her again for DSPM 0850
She is just so mean.Boring class. 10% for a (lot) of HW.
very nice and will help you out in anyway that you need. its very easy to get behind in her class but if you ask for help its always there. an excellent teacher! all negative comments made are by the ones who never show up any way
She is good in teaching. all what you need is to do the home work and i am sure you will get at least a B if you just do the homework and you will get an A if you study a little.
She is such a nice lady if you actually respect her. As far as her teaching goes, you'll be teaching yourself. She isn't very clear in any of her teaching unless you stay afterwords for one on one help. For some reason she's better at teaching one on one. I'd advise that you go to class, because she sometimes gives random EC. Just do the work.
She acts like she is teaching a group of elementary students. She never actually taught, and was pretty mean to the students. I do not recommend her. This class is suppose to be for students that aren't good at math but she makes it 10 times harder.
Dr. Bryant is a sweet lady, and anyone can tell that she means well. However, her teaching mechanisms are not always on-point. Some days, the class gets a free day to work on their on time (which I prefer), but mostly pressures you to pay attention. Borrowed another professor's syllabus and makes changes whenever she wants. Easy A, though.
She is very hard , you must work hard to pass this class. tan of homework ,and math problem ,
Class is easy and hard at different times, you get alot of homework and you have to study hard in order to do good on the tests. She is helpful, goes over the homework and any questions you have. Not a bad professor.
She teaches slow & the T.A was more helpful. uses online text book and you have to buy a code for it. the class was 55min and she taught in the last 20 min. I basically taught myself on all the HW. The test are hard b/c she doesn't teach you how to do the problems. Ask her for extra credit on the review problems and for a participation grade.
Awful teacher! Very biased. Get ready to teach yourself EVERYTHING! Never teaches for the whole amount of time, mostly the last 10-15 minutes. Good luck on tests, she tries to put to much into 1 single test. Double check every test, she DOES NOT grade correctly. Talks down to students. Doesn't care about her students, only herself & her problems.
The worst professor I have ever had. She is very unclear regarding assignments and when they are due. She also likes to teach you her methods, and then expect you to do the more correct method on homework and tests. Would NOT recommend if you can avoid her. The only good thing is that on her good days she is a sweet old lady, just awful teacher.
Completely awful. She is extremely frustrating, as she is unclear about everything. She talks down to her students and treats you like you are dumb. If you are good at math it's an easy class, but not worth the frustration. She frequently does problems wrong, and gets mad at us for correcting her. I dread going to this class.
Dr. Bryant is a nice lady, but she will talk to you like a baby. She assumes everybody in her class is stupid. If you ask a question, it gets even worse. I'm glad I never had a question because she shamed and embarrassed anyone who did. Avoid her if you can.
Dr. Bryant's class was a struggle. If anyone asked a question they were degraded and answered rudely. The class work and tests is completely computer based and done in the Math Emporium. The biggest problem is Dr. Bryant's attitude toward students and inability to explain the subject. Stuck it out but I will not take another class with her again.
She is a bit slow to start but she tries to answer everyone's questions. She will stay after to help anyone. I found the class much easier once the tutors for half the lab credits were a available to all the class. If you work out the math and it is clear what you did during the test, she will go back over them and give partial credit or more.
Professor Bryant was extremely helpful when I took her class. She always emailed me back right away if I had any questions on how to work a problem. She stays before and after class as well to answer any questions.
Only meets 1xweek, slow teaching to make sure everyone understands. Answers emails quickly. Stays after class to help, willing to help if available outside office hours. Once tutors opened to all students for half the required lab time helped. During exams, work problems on paper & turn in at end & gives extra credit if right hawkes counted wrong.
I had Dr. Bryant my freshman year for math. I would advise anyone & everyone to avoid her! She is always talking down to her students and heaven forbid you ask a question. I was always so afraid to ask for help if I didn't fully understand the content because I knew as soon as I did she would give me that, "Are you kidding me?" look. STAY AWAY!!
I was worried she was going to be bad based off this site, but she turned out to be on of my favorite professors yet at TTU. She is very kind and helpful once you build a one to one relationship with her and show her you care. My advise is to take her, you will learn and have fun too.
I thought this class was going to be easy, but ended up dropping it. I am not strong in math and Debra was extremely rude to me. She would laugh at questions in class and she was just a horrible instructor overall. Whenever I would email asking for help she would give a sarcastic answer or not reply at all. HATED the class. Do not take.
Debra Bryant teaches her math class as if all of the students already know the material. Its very difficult to learn from her, and she uses sarcasm and snarky comments throughout the class which can be extremely discouraging for a student trying to respect their professor. She makes you feel dumb when you ask a question. Basically, a huge no.
Terrible professor. I would never take her ever again. She was very rude. Would make you feel stupid in front of the entire class, and she would constantly be corrected. Awful, awful professor.
She gives homework but never takes it up, just for practice. She is funny and very helpful if you need it. Dont expect her to be extremely nice if you dont do anything and never try. This class is easy if you use any effort. With minimal effort i made over 100%.
she is very good
This lady is one of the most sweetest people ever! I was not in her math class but yet she continued to help me with my math class anyways. she also did it on he personal time when she didn't have to. she loves all of her students.
Dr. Debra Bryant was my first professor at Tennessee Tech. She very much cares about her students who show responsibility and respect during her class. If you put forth your best effort, you will most likely pass. However she has not empathy for people who skip. This class has a lot of homework but it is basic algebra. But it is easy to get bored.
If you can avoid her, do it. I am not the best at math, but if it's explained to me I can do it. Unfortunately, she is the absolute worst at explaining things, and expects you to already know what to do. I could not stand the online source we had to use. it made everything ten times harder.
This class was on zoom, I am not super good at math so the fact that all the teachings were online was difficult for me. She is not very good at explaining stuff if you can take anyone else do it!
Constantly made snide remarks toward students. Any question you ask her is answered like you personally offended her. She will humiliate you in front of everyone if you let her. I filed a complaint against her because it got so bad. She literally bullied students and I got tired of it. She was *a little* better afterwards. Super easy otherwise.
Literally could not give a worse review on Dr. Bryant. she is so rude and doesn't listen to the needs of her students. Be careful, if she calls on you and you don't know the answer she will get upset and possibly end class early just because of one small issue. She has a temper and is not afraid to show it. She made kids in my class feel dumb.
Dr. Bryant is a professor who shows a lot of her personality through teaching. She gets very stressed if you do not know how to work your computer, or apps on it like Zoom. She doesnt give you a chance to speak on or explain your situations to her. If you just show up to class, do the homework, & answer her questions in class, you will pass.
she may seem rude but she is kind, you have to come to class if you wanna pass, the work is all on computer but its easy. Just do the work and you should pass.
She is a nice lady, but other than that her class was terrible. I learned more in highschool precal. She was unorganized, bad with computers, and hard to follow. Her tests rarely reflected what we did in class and were all done differently. She says she is retiring soon though because she is unable to teach like she used to.
Great teacher.
Professor Debra Bryant is a nice person, but I have a lot of complaints about her class. Her notes are very unorganized. Pop quizzes basically every day. An abundance of homework. Work that doesn't correlate to what we learn in class and the notes. Expects us to know how to do problems we haven't covered. Lectures are all over the place.
Professor Bryant can be hit-or-miss. Lectures are disorganized, with assignments not aligned to class content. However, Unstuckstudy and the textbook helped me stay on top of the material. Overall, a challenging class, but manageable with the right study tools.
