I took her class a two years ago, very helpful and extremely nice. The assignments aren't hard, grades fairly.

This professor will make you WORK! One good thing, ENG 1A will be easy after you have Farve.

my favorite eng professor. sure she does things haphazardly, but thats the fun in it. she grades somewhat easily. just have a clear thesis and support it. most of the people complaining in my class were not very capable writers and did not know what they were gettings themsevles into.

The coolest and easiest teacher I have ever had. Assigns alot of homework but never checks it or collects it, does the minimum amount of essays required and helps u all the way through it. Funny. Has pop quizzes sometimes which are cake, if u did the homework. highly recommended.

Took her in the summer. Alot of reading and essay work. Very patience. Liked her a lot.

the class was easy but I felt like I didn't learn anything. "Class discussions" were almost anti-thought provoking. She would give us a study sheet and then we would get into groups and answer the questions on the board...*yawn* The only thing that saved the class was that I already love the subject matter.

SOOOOOOOOO easy there is no reason why you shouldnt be able to pass!!! She may be "grammar level" but it teaches you the basics to prepare you for your future english class. she is a BREEZE to take just do what youre asked.

She is a very sweet lady:) if u have questions don't be afraid 2 ask becus she wants 2 make sure u under stand. I wrote about 5 papers in that class and got mostly Cs. She grades pretty hard if your not gud at writing and can't stand essays. I suggest everytime you write a paper go 2 the learning center 2 get the revised b4 u turn em n,it prob help

She is a great teacher. You do a lot of practice exercises in the book so that helps when it comes time to write the essays. She is very strict on how the essay needs to be written but it is pretty easy. Try not to miss too many classes or you will be lost when you have to write the essay.

This teachers ability si superb. giving her what she wants in an essay is somewhat tough though

Great instructor. Very clear on what she expects. If you follow her format on writing papers you'll have no problem passing the class. Approached her many times about essays and she will help without giving you the answers. Great person but don't cross her.

She makes you read ALOT. She grades very easy tho. And when you write if you use a lot of big words its a guaranteed A. Just use them right.

Very easy class and rather relaxed atmosphere. Read a lot of short stories and only 3 novels. The essays you have to write are not all that difficult and she gives you plenty of time to complete them. Quizzes are very easy if you read the material.

I had no problems w/her but I'm at Mt. SAC to learn. She's really a nice person whose very clear in the classroom and with expectations. She was always available to help me during her office hours. Thumbs up, Dr. Farve!

I thought the class was pretty easy, but I can understand why some people struggled. Farve didn't teach us much prior to writing the essays. We learned grammar throughout the semester along with the writing. I don't think she grades harshly, but she just corrects all the mistakes. If you had a good teacher for Eng 67, then her class will be easy.

She does have a soft voice and very nice person.Her class was pretty easy, doesn't grade too harsh on essays but keep consistent with accurate grammar and punctuation; she will notice that!

Anyone complaining about Dr. Farve is just lazy. I went to class and did the work. That's why I got a B. She's very clear and very interested in helping students. Why don't the people complaining about her just stay home and do nothing! They're clearly not ready for college and are taking spaces away from students who want to learn.

Very friendly Professor, easy to approach if help is needed. Office hours were always available for help on any assignments. Tough but fair grader, after all it is college. Quizzes are easy, essays can range from easy to challenging, which prepares you for English 1A.

If you are looking to be entertained stay home and play with your social media. She is an incredibly nice lady, but, yes, you do have to work for your grade because this is college--not a playground. Very clear professor and very clear assignments. Offers lots of feedback and always available during office hour. Would take again.

This class wasn't the funnest class and I ended up not putting much effort into my assignments. She is strict when it comes to essays, but is always there for help. Honestly just work hard on your essays and you'll most likely get an A.

She's a very nice professor. The work she assigns is not hard at all. But when it comes to essays, she's a tough grader. Just do all the work, and really work hard on the essays, and you'll be fine.

Anyone who cannot pass did not do the workgo to class. Is very clear and very generous with the time she spends looking at essays during her office hours. She teaches for college students--not those who think Mt. SAC is an extension of high school. If you don't want to do homework, act like a college student in class, etc... then do not take her.

Very nice professor. Always available during office hours. College level prof. Just do your work, pay attention, and follow the established standards. Mt. SAC is not pre school.

Not for slackers looking for an essay grade. She is generous with her time and will help you if you go to office hours, but you have to do the work--five essays and quizzes.

She was a pretty good professor. You just have to put some effort in writing the material. She just typically leaves the teaching to the writing center which is absolutely mandatory for credit but it helped. If you don't want to exert time and effort in her class then don't take it. Otherwise, it was a fairly good class. There were only 5 essays.

Doctor Farve is an excellent teacher. She cares about her students and it shows. Are you ready to work? Are you ready to participate? If you said yes then take English 68 with her.

Debra Farve is a great professor, so I don't know why does she have such a low rating. Her quizzes are very easy, just read a little textbook, and you can get all A's. There are around 4-5 essays, each of them has wired prompt, but asking her is a helpful way to understand the prompt easily. Remember to visit Writing Lab. Easy pass, no pressure.

She is a college level professor who is extremely generous with her time. Go to her office hours. She will sit down with you and go through your work line by line to tell you what is strong and what needs to be down to up your grade. If you don't to work, take someone else .

If you want to mess around and not get your work done, then she's not your professor. She is generous with her time. She will go through your work and tell you how to improve it for a higher grade. She is very clear about assignments and how she grades. A great proffessor for students who want to learn. Complainers are, in my opinion, lazy.

Attend class, do the work, attend tutoring and you should pass. Dr. Farve is pretty fair.

I think she is an amazing teacher, but I am a grown up and at Mt. SAC to learn. You want to learn how to write? Then take her. She is generous with her office time and will go through your work with you before you submit it for a grade. You want to mess around? Stay home and watch Netflix. Great teacher. Nice lady.

If you realize that Mt. SAC really is a college, you will love Dr. Farve. She is always available for help. Go to office hours and show her your work before turning it in. She will go through it and tell you how to improve it. Do you reading, homework, and attend class and you will be fine. She is a fair.

She is definitely a college level professor, who will get you ready to transfer to a UC. Compared to other professors, Dr. Farve is 100% clear about what you have to do to succeed not only her class, but college, overall. She is always available to go over your work in advance to turning it in during her office hours.
