Professor Guild is a overall good teacher. She answered every question that was asked and helped anyone would needed it. If English isn't your subject, like it isn't for me; This course is fairly easy if you study. I am comfortable with her teacher style, so I see myself taking her ENC1101 course in the fall.

WARNING!! Don't sign up for this class if you're not prepared to learn. At the end of the semester you will be totally prepared for 1102. Classwork and homework are not difficult, and there's enough time to complete the assignments. Dr Guild explains everything so clearly. She is so sweet and caring.If you follow her instructions you will get an A.

Such a great teacher! She's so sweet and really gets to know her students. Talks about her son sometimes so you get to know her as a person. You're always well prepared for her essays and she always answers e-mails. You can even e-mail her your essay before it's due for corrections.

This Prof was awesome! I was never the best at writing papers, but Debra never hesitated to teach me how. Dont run from this writign class. We used the text alot bc the nature of the class, writing assnmnts were simple, she is stern on grades but its OK bc she will equip you to make an "A". Ask for help if needed. All tests are short answers

She knows what she is doing, learning about the African American culture as a whole was interesting, she gives journals, a midterm a final and about three papers, since the subject matter was interesting to me so i was able to make sure all the work that was assigned was done.if you do all your work and try not to half a** the work you will pass.

Dr. Guild is the best! She is very sweet, great sense of humor, and she gets to know her students, but she is a hard grader. There are 4 essays, 10 journals, and 1 quiz. The textbook is used very often, and she takes attendance every class. If you're willing to learn, pay attention, and do all of the assignments, take her class and you should pass.

Dr. Guild is an excellent professor for ENC1101. She is very clear and precise. Extremely helpful. I highly recommend taking her for ENC1101.

One of my favorites at Broward College. Doesn't give out a ton of work, but enough to keep you busy in the class. Does not give an easy A. But I still highly recommend her class.

She is a great professor, she cares about her students and is straightforward on day 1 about what she expects from the class. I highly recommend her, the work she gives isn't hard, usually just work related to what you read from the book. Tests & Quizzes & Essays are based around the tales / themes you learned from the book.

What I liked about her class was that you get to interact with your classmates every day and have discussions about the stories we read which makes it fun in my opinion. She assigned a few papers and she gives you feedback if you need it. She's not a tough grader, but not an easy one either. An A or a B is easy to achieve.

Very good professor. It is not an easy A, but she brings out the best of you. She will help you if you ask her. However, there is no extra credit. But if you know English grammar very well and are very creative you should definitely pass and maybe even get an A. You have to listen to the lecture. She gives templates which are very helpful.

Dr. Guild is a wonderful English professor, she is a little picky when it comes to grammar, punctuation, and other tedious things but pay attention to details and you should be fine. Assignments are simple and class is full of really valuable info. I've learned so much from her, in my opinion she's the best professor at BC.

Best Professor EVER! Class discussions were interesting. She assigns short story's for you to read... test not hard just read the story! About 3-4 essays were assigned but she only require them to be no more than 2 pages long. I will most definitely take her class again!

Dr Guild is an amaing prof. before every essay she allows you to write a rough draft that she will grade and allow you to fix any mistakes before turning in the final. all her essays were usually short. the most she made anyone write was 2-3 pages. took her for 1101 and 1102. I got an A in both classes. def take her! easy A and she offers help

Professor Guild is a great teacher. If you know you have a difficult time with grammar (Like me) she would proofread your essay to correct any grammatical mistakes you may have. Also, she goes step by step on how you should writing your paper and what she expects. She even allows you to write rough drafts and proofread them even before its due.

I took this professor twice and both classes were he best classes I have attended in my college experience so far. If you are look for a exceptional, fun, caring teacher who teaches exceptional, than I encourage you to take his professor. I never met a professor, that goes out her way to get to know her students and truly cares for them.

I took Dr. Guild's class as freshman but didn't know what to expect. High school doesn't prepare you for college level writing but this professor definitely will. If you enjoy classes where you learn but are also being challenge she is perfect for you. I took both 1101 and 02 with her because of how great she is. The best experience i've had so far

One of the best English professors I have. She's approachable, caring, kind, and tries to inject some humor into her lectures. If you prefer a class where the professor takes notes on the board and you don't mind reading and engaging in classwide discussions, she's a perfect match!

Great Teacher Overall! Took her class twice for ENC1101 and ENC1102 and loved it . Work is pretty simple if you pay attention in class.

I took Dr. Guild's class in the Spring and I loved it. She cares about her students and outlines everything clearly to get an A on a paper or quiz. Her lectures are very good and she answers any questions. She is really there to help any student pass. I loved her class and would take it again if I could.

100% would take again! SUPER easy class. EASY quiz once a week on a short story that shell give time to read. The short reads is what makes the final + her notes that she will write down on the board. lenient and chill. NO CON at all

Dr. Guild is a great professor! She is a tough grader but offers her help for anything you need during her office hours. Don't expect to pass by not showing up for class. This class is not an easy A, she does make you work for your grade. She does gives extra credit but don't rely on that! I do recommend taking her.

Even though many may think professor Guild expects too much from her students, I believe she simply marks any mistake made in the assignments, which I believe is a good feedback. Although a tough grader, she will give you many resources in order to work on a great submission.

I recommend this professor for ENC1101. She is a strict grader so you would work for your grade, it is not given it is earned with her. She does not offer extra credit so try to do good on the essays she assigns. Her lectures are very informative and she is very hands on if you have any questions. im not exaggerating when i say that she is one of the best teachers ive ever had in my entire school career. Not only did she teach my to write at such a higher level than before i started her classes. she is an incredible teacher and she really cares for her students and works super hard to help each and everyone. I wont forget her class ever.

To start off, I took Dr. Guild for ENC1101 and 1102 and thank God for that because she's honestly a really great professor. I feel like if anybody got a bad grade in her class it's because they earned it since she's completely fair and clear about her assignments. She also always gives feedback and notes so you know what to fix on your papers.

I took Prof Guild's class in spring 2020 as an elective. In this class i learned how to improve my writing as Prof Guild provided the class with thoughtful feedback to each assignment that was completed. There is a lot of homework, but the homework is pretty easy and honestly fun if you like to write.

I loved taking her for ENC1102, she gives great feedback and helps you understand how to improve your writing and your papers. She definitely was such a sweetheart. Fun class

She gives good feedback but she is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to writing essays. You have about 3 or 4 essays in her class mixed with some in-class writing along with one quiz at the end of the year. I would definitely suggest you come to class and pay attention in class when she is teaching because everything little thing counts.

I would recommend her. She is very kind and understanding. If you have questions she is clear and helpful. Her class can be challenging as she expects highly from her students but nothing that you cant handle! She gives multiple different sources to help you with your papers or assignments. As long as you follow her directions you will be okay!

Dr. Guild is very transparent about the grading system she uses. We had to write several essays, none of which were particularly long, and there were a handful of in-class written paragraphs. Guild walks you through any questions you may have and provides clear feedback on mistakes. Actually give your full attention to lectures!

Dr Guild's class was the highlight of my day. As long as you show up and listen, you will pass this class. She explains everything clearly. The assignments were interesting and creative.She allowed you to rewrite certain essays and gave good feedback. I have not taken an english class in 20 years; the way she taught allowed me to relearn with ease.

Her class is great. She doesn't take attendence, but she does give exit assignments sometimes and some essays are written in class. Therefore it's important to not miss class. She is very understanding, but she will not give extra credit, she believes that you just need to do things write from the beginning. Would definitely take her again! :)

Make sure to not miss the qizzes she gives, they are super easy. She only has a few assignments but make sure to do them all becuase there is no extra credit. She does give 3 essays in class they ar enot on hard topics though. Some papers she willl let you rewrite if you dont like your grade.Taking notes is not required. She is a great professor :)

Dr. Guild was my favorite professor hands down. Her workload is very manageable with mostly having essay assignments and a few quizzes. While you are going to have to write a lot, she's extremely thorough in what she's looking for and pretty lenient with due dates. Not only is she very kind and approachable, she is also very caring. 5/5 Stars!

Lecture every class. Few quizzes and none were pop quizzes. Mainly worked on essays and small essays. You can tell she is very smart and gives good feedback.

She was great. She really cared about you understanding the class. The thing she was hardest about was the citation and work cited page, so make sure to get that down. Other than that the class was extremely easy.

Her work is not hard at all but i kind of slacked off and that is why i ended off with a C. All you honestly have to do is write essays or short paragraphs and some grammer assignments. As long as you do those assignments you will definitely pass. She is great with grading and will help you. If you get a bad grade you get to redo it.

By far one of the best professors and teachers I have ever had. You do 4 essays which all are fairly easy. 4 little quizzes about short stories. You have to memorize a poem and read it out loud in front of the class but it's nothing bad. Dr. Guild was funny and always answered my questions. If I wasn't transferring, I would take her again.

I loved Professor Guild! Looking back at the class I love how each assignment she gives allows her students to think freely and write about our own interests. Work is easy and done in class, so attendance is mandatory. She can be a bit of a tough grader and has her own preference of how she wants students to write, still a great class.

I am currently taking Dr. Guild's ENC 1101 class, and it is going great. There is no extra credit, which I don't think is a big deal because she gives another chance to submit assignments after she gives feedback. Probably gonna take her again for 1102 next semester. Don't let the bad reviews discourage you from taking her class; she is amazing.

Honestly, at first I was hesitant about taking this teacher due to the bad rating, but I'm glad I took her class. She is very compassionate and understanding. She drops the worst grade you have at the end and gives lots of extra credit assignments. Very hard not to pass this class.

Prof. Guild has a specific grading system, but engaging with it pays off. The class isn't too difficult - just stay on top of essays and grammar assignments. Unstuckstudy was a huge help for preparing, alongside the free textbook.

For ENC1102, Most of the essays were not too long, and there were a few opportunities to rewrite some assignments. Just follow what the assignments are, and this class with her will be a breeze.

Im not sure why so many bad reviews, I loved her! I took her enc1101 and enc1102 in my senior year of highschool while also attending broward college, got A's in both. She has clear guidlines to assignments and proper outlines AND essay examples. I loved her so much that I had her write my letter of reccomendation for college. Id take her again.
