Professor Henney was quick to respond to email questions. Homework graded in a timely manner. Good communication and syllabus well laid out. I would recommend this professor for this class.
Really great teacher, and knows her stuff. Makes things interesting, and makes the subject fun and easy to learn. I would recommend her to anyone.
She is very nice teacher. She'll give you a lot of games to make you understand stuff. She helped me very much
I was not at all interested in Economics, however Ms. Henney made it fun. We played games during all class sessions to help the students understand what the chapters were all about. She is very enthusiastic and spoke with so much energy that she kept you paying attention. Wonderful teacher, I would recommend her to anyone.
Took this class in the spring. This teacher was great! I did not like the online program we used but other than that it was a good class. Lots of games that help not only keep your attention but help you understand the material. If you have to take this class, get this teacher.
Great teacher took it online over the summer. stay on top of the work and you'll be fine. She made one assignment due every day or two could take anywhere from one to two hours if that and she never made anything due on saturdays.
Awesome teacher, and great looking too. She teaches the class more at a high school level, or at least her day class which may be due to the students in attendance, but it makes it really easy to understand and get through. Online homework is easy to do and understand as well. Wish I could take her again for more classes.
Debra was awesome. Super helpful when you need it. She's clear in what she wants. Put forth the effort and you will do great
Great Instructor, I took her online class this Fall semester and really enjoyed it. Her course structure is fair and she offers extra credit pretty often. She always responded quickly to my emails as well. You should do well if you don't procrastinate the homework assignments or discussion posts and make sure to take advantage of the extra credit.
Best thing about her: always has fun activities (some involving food!) in EVERY class! Classes were never boring. Also, pretty easy class. Only have 1-2 hour assignments every week and a final at the end. Sometimes her teaching wasn't very clear and I couldn't grasp the concepts (usually the math part). Otherwise, definitely recommend her!
4.0 GPA and the worst class so far. I didn't learn a thing. Its a guessing game all semester. I dreaded working on the homework and I LOVE school.
kept the class interesting, had a bunch of activities that got everyone involved, decent amount of homework but there is always ample time to get it done, overall great professor will be taking another one of her classes
Really Fun activities in class to get the hands on learning experience!!! Classes were never boring. Only have 1-2 hour assignments every week and a final at the end. Really have to do the reading to fully understand some of the concepts but nonetheless would definitely recommend her! Got B+ only cause didn't fully do all the readings.
Seriously great teacher and instructor, Very easy to get along with and is always willing to help with amazing extra credits, I had problems with APLIA and missed out on a huge lot of assignments, but Mrs. Debbie was very helpful to reverse some dates, my first language is not english, and shes great with foreign students.
Took her for both micro and macroeconomics and enjoyed all of it. They are hybrid courses so all worksheets are done online. Recommend her definitely!
This class was very well structured! I took the online summer course. Not only was the class fun, but it stimulated my interested in economics. The teacher was wonderful and very helpful. Homework can be challenging, but not too bad! Got an A in class and recommend this class to all!
Awesome teacher. Super nice, always willing to help you out and give extra credit. Made economics fun and interesting. Spent 1 hour a week on the hw. Definitely take her for Econ 211 and 212
I took this class because Debra had high ratings, but soon found out that they were very misleading. She has Power Points everyday. Everyone is bored, either on their phones or sleeping. The hw assignments take at least 1-2 hours. Overall, I didn't learn anything in this class.
Mrs. Henney is an amazing teacher. She's very helpful, you will realize you're smart decision after just the first day of class. Tons of extra credit that you won't ever worry of your grade. Sign up for her classes as soon as possible. I've taken her with Mirco and Macroeconomics, and wish more teachers were like her!
Class was boring. PowerPoints every single day! Attendance is mandatory, part of participation. So don't take her class if you're always late or gone. It'll bring down your grade. Final exam is take home but still impossible to ace. A lot of extra credit, take advantage of it cause hw was very hard. Took at least 2 hours to finish on a good day.
#1 prof. I've had. Took 2 years ago..Not a blow off class, but best explanation you will ever get on ecn. I would consider this course to be an Ivy-League level exposure to economics at the most affordable community college tuition you will find. I've mandated that my sister take this class while Professor Henney's instruction is still availalbe.
Always prepared, gives great lectures, and makes her students feel welcome. I enjoyed taking her class.
Debbie was fantastic! would definitely take her again for another class and recommend to others as well. Made learning fun and implemented the learning through the weekly smartwork assignments. Extra credit was often given so there was no reason to receive anything less than a B. Show up and do the weekly assignments and you're golden.
Easy A if you do the Smartwork Assignments!!! She gives A TON of extra credit!!
SHE IS SO TERRIFIC!!! This was my second class with her. So worth taking!!!
Oh what a great change of pace from the rest of your simple lectures. She keeps the dull powerpoint parts to a minimum, and we'll do small games & such to learn the content through experience. From clips of Seinfeld to selling thingamajigs, it's just a fun & easy class. The book I did not find needed at all, you can learn from inquisitive just fine
She was a Great Teacher! Really knew her stuff. There is Online Homework and Tests every week, but they aren't too bad. Gives a lot of extra credit. Good and Interesting class. She keeps you involved with activities that can give you extra credit. Taking her again!
Amazing teacher. Would take again!
She is an amazing professor. Super helpful and willing to answer any questions you might have. Everything is set out before you so you know how the semester will be. I want to take Macro because of taking this class. If you do the homework and pay attention in class, you'll do well.
Her class takes a lot of work but it is not hard to get an A. Set aside a lot of time for homework and do all of the extra credit. Do not take this class if you are not ready to work.
I just made an account to rate Professor Henney because that is how great she is! If you're looking for an awesome Macro teacher then look no further because you have found her. There are only two tests (midterm and final) and weekly quizzes. She offers a lot of extra credit towards the end so there is no way you can't get a good grade.
It's hard to give Mrs. Henney a 100% accurate review as this was an online class and I had many issues with the reactive learning system as it often was glitchy and didn't record my progress meaning I would have to spend that much more time doing the same types of exercises. Don't miss assignments they will heavily impact your grade.
Ms. Henney is easily one of the best teachers I've had in my life. She cares about her students with really fun games and activities. She shows great enthusiasm about Economics and wants her students to succeed. Also, she is very accessible outside of class . Overall, I have nothing but the highest respect for her and wish I took ECN211 with her.
Amazing teacher
She's an amazing and understanding teacher. Provided you study and follow the instructions, an easy B is guaranteed.
I took this class over a five week period, big mistake! If you do take this class make sure it's for a full semester. She graded pretty tough and took forever for her to put the grades in. I wouldn't take this teacher again.
Professor Henney has been one of my favorite instructors this semester. She is very caring and lectures very well. I have learned a lot taking this class, and cannot wait to take Macro next semester. It's an easy class and all tests are done online. You'll get a heavy lecture an then have homework and a quiz. It's simple and to the point.
great teacher, fun class
She makes the class a lot of fun with in class activities that help relate things to real life. Only complaints are that the quizzes are pretty hard to get higher than a B on and the project at the end of the semester is sort of rushed and she isn't quite clear on how to do the project either. Still a good teacher though.
This teacher is great at teaching but is heavy lecturer and a tough grader, she expects you to go above and beyond or you won't get the full points. there are long quizzes and tests every week, I personally wouldn't take her again but she was an average teacher over all.
she gives quizzes weekly and the homework and practice work fails to prepare you. gives lots of extra credit points that are worthless. most learning has to be done the reading or self-teaching
Debbie is a fair teacher. She lectures very heavy and can be boring at times, but she also does in class activities. The most frustrating part is the confusion of the wording in this class. You'll have a quiz every Saturday, and an inquisitive assignment the day before your class. She's very nice and is always available for questions or help.
Prof Henney is very knowledgeable. Not a tough class but because it is online discussions matter. She expects you to visit the posts multiple times a week and respond to all students who respond to you. All of the other work is done on Mcgraw Hill Connect. Extra credit opportunities are available. Put in the effort and you won't have a problem.
She has been a great teacher who seems to really want to help her students. I had no issues with her the entire semester but the McGraw Connect program she uses for her class sucks. It seems like it should still be in the beta stages. Absolutely terrible. The coding is off so you cant even see what you entered into charts.
The class is tough and you have to read and do the homework. The quizzes are difficult and if you dont read along with doing the homework, the quizzes wont be easy. You have to read. Whether you read the whole chapter, or just to find your answers. She made the class very interesting and engaging. It wont be boring like your typical econ class.
She knows her stuff and it's hard to get A's in her class. She does a class activity for each class so that was fun. She's a really nice teacher. You had 2 things do each week, including a test. Her class got a little boring at times. Her tests aren't exactly what she teaches so beware of that. idk if I would take her again but she's really sweet.
Attendance is mandatory or else she takes off points. Her class activities are fun and help you understand the material better. Participation matters because you get extra credit. She has some extra credit assignments and they're not too hard. Overall, the class is decent and tests are different than what she teaches. She has a good personality!
I took her online so it was a different setting than the normal but she's was very helpful whenever I reached out to her. Overall, I recommend her for this class!
Took Macroeconomics online. Class was fair, grading is strict. Extra credit was offered. Most of the class is a few discussions, reading/watching online videos via McGrawHill. Quizzes per chapter. Would take again!
chapter quiz is different from flashcards and concept quiz
I'd fall asleep every class, that's how boring and lecture heavy it was. I recommend studying on quizlet. She pulls all test questions from there, so just look up the class title and study before each test. If you do that, and do your homework on MATLAB, you'll pass with at least a B. The only downside, like I said, is extremely boring.
I don't like working with classmates I feel awkward when I do but she pairs us up with people randomly anyway. I felt dumb in that class. She's a good teacher though.
12+ assignments per week. 4 will take 2+ hours. Spent more time worrying about getting everything done than learning anything. Quiz questions do not match homework. The answers for a lot of the questions are interchangeably correct and will be correct on some questions and incorrect on another. I do not recommend this teacher.
12+ assignments/week. Most will take 2+ hours. Everything is McGraw Hill Connect. The questions/answers she enters are often worded different from the curriculum. Take this class if you want to be frustrated with no time to work on anything else.
If you are comparing between her and Basil, CHOOSE DEBBIE HENNEY. I took it online, there were some weeks that were extra challenging and took extra time. My only gripe here is that the one time I asked for help this semester she took over a week to respond. Turn in work on time and you'll be fine, she is not going to let any late work slide.
Professor Debra Henney gives insights beyond a textbook, she brings authentic energy and passion to her classroom lectures. She is a great educator, professional instructor, and embodies core values of a teacher that displays no biasty or influences the lessons/curriculm with her personal beliefs. She also challenges you beyond a simple question.
I took this course online. The course is well organized. The professor responds to emails and is very helpful. There are two assignments and one quiz due each week. Late work is not accepted. She offers extra credit. I would take another course from this professor.
This course was an online, so the students did not get much interaction with the professor. However, she did everything in her power to make sure we stay on track and finish the assignments in a timely manner. There were a lot of assignments, but they were needed to understand all the concepts that come with macroeconomics.
She is nice and easy to talk to. She quickly responds to emails. We get a lot of chances for extra credit, even if it's small. I had to miss a class once, and I asked her if there was a way to make it up, and she said the points we earn in the games during class go towards absences. She is very passionate in what she teaches. The quizzes were hard.
She is a very kinda and relaxed teacher, very understanding and always willing to help. Course work for each week is very easily laid out.
This course is a lot of work, but if you keep up with it, then you'll be fine
You will have a decent amount of Homework in this class. Each week there will be a multiple choice assignment, a homework assignment, and a quiz. Mrs.Henney gets back to her students quick when you have a question or concern. Would recommend.
If you need to take an Economics class please take Professor Debra Henney you will not regret it. She is amazing at what she does and really cares about helping her students understand the content. The homework and quizez are not bad at all. She is very engaged with the class and provides extra credit. 10/10 Would recommend she's awesome.
She was very good to the whole class. Being in her class was fun, it required attendance, and participation, so be ready.
Professor Henney has been the best professor I have had in my first year of collage by far. I was in macroeconomics as Professor Henny as my instructor. Lectures are daily but VERY interesting. She has a really good way of comparing the things we are learning about in class to things that are happening in the real world. Thank Professor Henney!
Awesome teacher, she teaches very well and very understanding. Isn't a teacher that gives you a packet or a textbook and says you do you. You actually learn in this class with this teacher.
The professor is very nice and respectful and is willing to help with any questions you may have. She uses slides shows, pictures, Videos, and activites to help the students learn.
Made the course extremely manageable, and was always quick getting back to me. Just show up, and participate and you'll be good
If you are someone who needs good/simplified instruction, Professor Henney is a perfect choice. She simplifies very complex topic into more digestible ways making them easier to understand. She's also very sweet and understanding. Every so often she'll throw in extra credit work, so look out for those! :)
Decent professor!
If you have any questions or concerns, the Professor will answer them and make sure you understand. Overall this class is straightforward and does go in-depth of topics so if you missed taking notes in class, on the LEARN assignments the topic discussed in class is also on the assignment in case you missed taking notes in class.
Professor Henney is a fantastic teacher, and someone who I would enjoy taking a class from again when I need more Economics classes! Her lectures are not hard to grasp, and she does a great job of getting the class involved in a fun way while making the material real. Glad to have had the pleasure of being her student.
This class has a very straightforward structure where each week you have a learning section, some homework questions, and a test. As long as you stay on track, this class is not too difficult, although it can take some time.
She was a great teacher, very understanding. Her way of teaching made me really understand the class and do well in the assignments. As long as the student pays attention and asks questions they'll do good in class.
Professor Henney is a great professor who is always willing to help and is very understanding. The work is very straightforward and it's clear what you need to get done. I definitely recommend not just this class but also this professor and as long as you stay on top of everything and work ahead, then there will be no trouble. Highly recommend!
I took this class completely online and it was very straightforward. The weekly assignments were due every Thursday at midnight. We we require to buy a external learning software for the semester. The class was not challenging as long as you take your time and pay attention to the videos on the learning software.
I took this class online. Most of the work is completed on your own, it has a consistent schedule. The professor was able to assist with any unique assignments or challenging concepts.
Professor Henney is a great professor and was always very helpful whenever I had a question. I would definitely recommend.
She is such a good professor! I took this class online, and she was there when I had a question. She provides valuable feedback and is very understanding.
lear lectures and organized class. Concepts are explained well, and expectations are fair. If you stay consistent and keep up with the material, it's very manageable.
Excellent.
Professor Henney is one of few fully dedicated educators. The amount of effort she puts into her lectures and course materials is profound. You can tell that she works hard to maintain student engagement. She offers many opportunities for extra credit through class participation and assigned work. She is kind, patient, and just a great professor.
This professor uses an online approach which utilizes text with videos and I found this to be very helpful in guiding me throughout the semester. Would recommend this class to others.
This class is very fun.
Easy class self explanatory the learn assignments are pretty long but homework and quizzes are easy
She's an amazing professor, very patient and definitely knows what she's talking about its so easy to pay attention.
Professor Henney provides clear expectations about the expectations of the online class. The assignments are the exact same for almost every week just with new material, so nothing comes as a surprise.
She was pretty good. Overall, I would recommend taking her online class. The con yo taking her course online is she uses McGraw Hills and the have a LOT of topics for example (85). If that is not a problem for you, 100% recommend her and she puts grades in on time.
Overall amazing professor! The only con is she uses McGraw for majority of the assignments. If that's not an issue then i would recommend taking her class.
I liked the professor but there was a lot of work on Mcgraw Hill due each week. Sometimes up to 90 concepts which takes a lot of time to complete.
She is amazing, I actually took a second course with her because I liked the first one so much. As long as you stay on top of the work its an easy and fun class!
I took this class because I liked her class so much for macro. As long as you stay on top of the assignments and complete them every week, you will end up with a good grade. Really take advantage of the check my work feature on the homework. She is a good teacher and also a good class to do for the honors contract.
the teacher was very pleasant, many fun activities, would good at identifying when you need help and will stop to make sure you understand it
If you are doing the online class, I suggest you do something else and get into her in-person classes. I went in for tutoring one time, and she was very helpful.
