Awesome!!!!!!
Debra is excited about what she teaches and it rubs off on you. She is witty and intelligent and a refreshing instructor.
Debra is a great prof. She knows what she is talking about, and has a "child-like" approach to everything. She teached different styles. Just make sure that you are on her good side :) she is very easy. Act like adults in her class, but have
She was funny, helpful and interesting. I love how she applied her life to her teachings, it helped me understand. I learned so much from her class, gained whole new prospectives. Take this class over the summer qtr--so easy!
This was a great class and a very informative teacher. She understands that everyone has a different learning style and we had varoius methods of exams and homework. I would highly encourage other students to take her class.
Very unprofessional, unorganized. Very nice and interesting and funny though. Goes on about her homelife too much.
Knows her stuff and makes you excited about the subject, but she's a bit unorganized. It would be hard not to get a good grade in her class.
She taught me so much. She keeps the class involved & we all got very close. Very easy grade, but very interesting & informative. Covers different teaching styles & lots of movies!
i don't think i learned anything from her class, except for what it's like to live in the jenkin's home. easy A. funny. just doesn't teach much because she gets distracted and rambles about personal life too much. if you want an easy A, great choice. if you want to learn, find a different instructor
she knew the subject well but i learned most of the information from movies and my book because all she did was talk about her personal life. She used her kids as examples a lot and tended to get off topic easily. easy class easy A. if you want to actually learn i suggest just buying the book and reading it on your own time.
She's a great teacher, keeps you interested and she's amusing!

Neat lady. Kind of disorganized but very fun. She definitely wants her class to learn and is willing to take the time and trouble to make sure that happens. I personally enjoy her values-based teaching style and appreciate her authenticity.
She teaches early childhood education and gives you the sense that the parents of the children you would be teaching are idiots. She also assumes that because the population of our community is mostly white we are ignorant to minorities and their cultures. She is very disorganized and gives incomplete directions as to what she expects. she is funny
Seems great and warm in person - but this was an online class. She had absolutely NO involvement in the class. You see her on the forums only once or twice in the quarter or you e-mail her. Class is entirely self-run, which leads to confusion.
Debi is a wonderful person, she is very nice and funny. She can be very confusing so it is not wise to not come to class or not pay attention in class or you will be lost. She is not a difficult teacher if you understand her methods but can be a little fustrating. She does alot of neat games and her tests are very different.
I took the child development class online and I passed with an A. This class is easy and the work is easy. There is alot of work but it's not hard and does not take a long time to do. Great teacher.
Debi's a great teacher. Fun, sassy, knowledgeable, responsive, & very involved. She can be a bit scattered, but she more than makes up for it with enthusiasm. Not to mention she's a total ****, but hey, I like strong women who know who they are. If you show up and pay attention, there's no reason you shouldn't get an A. Ask her about "potroast."
You will laugh so hard in her class. She is a black woman with great attitude. Her test are fantastic because you and the class develope the questions so you know exactly what will be on there. You have study guides and slides printed out ot follow lecture. You will also learn that everyone has a library and its always in the same place!!
She is just awesome! Among my very favorite profs in 3 years at Clark. Don't hesitate to take ths class from her.
I had a blast in Debi's Reflective Practices class. She was so informative and had so many stories she could relate to our class. Our discussions were so deep and always included laughter!
Very easy class. Highly reconmended. She doesn't "lecture" and fits everyones learning style. Take her if you have a hard time learning.
Her class was too easy. I took it two quarters ago and I don't remember a thing she said. Easy A, but worthless class.
I LOVED HER CLASS...SHE MAKES IT FUN AND SHE IS A VERY GREAT TEACHER AND VERY FUN...I LOVED IT AND I WILL MISS HER CLASS... I LEARNED ALOT OF NEW INTERESTING FACTS.
Take Debi! Shes the best!
Debbie is awesome!!! I loved her class, i learned soo much from the early childhood development. She makes the class super fun, easy and enjoyable. If your looking for a easy class and a awesome teacher, take her class. You will love her!
Super fun and easy! You don't really gain too much knowledge about psychology but you get to have interesting class and group discussions and Debi mainly asks for partisipation work. Students get to come up with test questions.
WONDERFUL TEACHER!!!!!!
Debi keeps things interesting and makes the entire class laugh out loud everyday. Keep up on your reading so her lectures are more pertinent and be there. These two things alone will help you to succeed. I loved Debi as my psyc teacher!
This class was so much fun! I loved every second of it. She is very good at explaining things and giving examples. She makes sure that every learning style is satisfied and makes it fun. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!
Jenkins is an okay teacher. There are a few things that bothered me like clarity on assignments and APA format. You need to know APA format for this class just fyi.
Took a few ECE classes with her. She's funny and nice and wants to make sure everyone learns something from each class. Less "mainstream" teaching. She is a bit scattered, but kind of in a charming way.
Her instructions are not clear she takes forever to grade things I still don't know what I got on my midterm and the quarter is over. She doesn't help clarify anything. This was an online class so perhaps she's better on campus it was an easy class but caused me a lot of stress.
LOVED her class. she is the sweetest teacher, I walk by now and she still says hi everytime I see her. Really easyand enjoyable class. We played games the whole time and I still learned lots! I recomend her to anyone.
Her class is pretty easy, show up & participate you will do fine. The only annoying thing is she takes FOREVER to grade your work. I've turned in all my assignments but have not gotten any back. Her tests are easy. She can be flaky, but I laugh every day in class.
She says the best way to reach her is via email...BS!!! I've sent her several emails requesting clarification on an assignment because the instruction were vague and she has NOT responded to a single email. Oh & it takes her forever to grade your assignments.
I took an online class with debi. I have taken several online classes, and this was the worst one. She came up with excuse after excuse as to why she did not have our grades ready. Seems like a nice lady, but if i used the same excuses she did, and turned all my stuff in late, which she did with grades, I most likely would have failed.
When she talks to the class and lectures, she is quite good, but her assignments and powerpoints are aweful.Busy work. She is disorganized and takes forever to hand things back. She is very unprofessional and very focused on her ethnicity. You will get an A if you hand stuff in and have a pulse.DO NOT TAKE HER if you want to actually learn something.
Very easy but gives a lot of reading homework.Got an A, but I don't remember a thing..
She made the class so much fun, I've never laughed and had so much fun in one class as I did in her class! :D
Didn't learn ANYTHING, and NEVER got a response from an email or question. Also, takes FOREVER to grade assignments and comes up with every possible excuse as to "why" grades have yet to be entered. I seriously wonder if the work I've done in class has ever even been looked at. WASTE OF TUITION MONEY, AND DEF. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. SHOULDN'T TEACH.
Class is very fun and interesting, but her homework is very unclear.. You have to be very self independent in her class. I got A's on all of my tests but she wasn't clear about the final paper so I turned it in late and ended up with a B. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone who wants to succeed.
I highly recommend taking ANY class with her. She is hilarious. Your face will hurt by the end of the period. She makes class fun. This class was also SUPER easy! Didn't really use the text book ever. Lots of movies to watch Study guides are easy to remember and tests are simple if you watch the videos and use the guides. Final is a group test!
Debi is a wonderful teacher!! I learned a lot in her class as well as really enjoying it. Although there is a bunch of homework, her class is easy. BUT-- you have to be self motivated- she is not there to coddle anyone. READ the Syllabus!!! I would highly recommend Debi's class.
I have taken two online courses with her. She seems nice enough, but she is terrible at grading work and doesn't do what she says she is going to do. It's confusing and frustrating. She constantly has excuses. But the good news is she hands out an A to everyone, since she never bothers to actually look at your homework.
Debi is a wonderful teacher. She makes class fun and there is very little homework. the tests are easy and right out of the study guide. if you go over the study guide before the test you will do good in her class. I would recomend this teacher to anyone.
Debi is a excellent Teacher!! She makes class so much fun and her study guides and test go hand and hand...Great Teacher you will love her, but watch it she might punch you in the face with love...lol she's great :)
She's a cool person, but her class is ridiculous. She covers very little real material and tells stories and jokes around the whole time. Easy, easy A. If you want a serious Psych 200 class, go elsewhere. It was like kindergarten. She hands out study guides that "prepare you" for the test by being the test. 2 E Z.
This is an easy "A". It was a fun class but sometimes seemed childish. Plus, it was daily at 9am and I don't want to wake up that early to play with toys (literally). I enjoyed the material that we covered and psychology truly is a fascinating subject. I'd take her again :)
I took her class online because it was only way it was offered, i wish i would have read her rate my professor comments before the class. She was hard to get a hold of, didn't explain things well enough if at all and she graded personality quizzes and counted them against the grade...
One of the best teachers. Very fun to have for a class. she keeps u super into wht she is teaching u and makes u want too come too class. Also her class is not too difficult which is nice when your taking a full time load.
She took a class that should be easy and fun and made it difficult, tedious, confusing, and boring. This is for an online class. She doesn't answer questions, classmates have to meet outside of class for group work, there are more writing assignments for this class than any English class I have ever taken. I give her an F-!! Don't take her online
Early Childhood Development online was pretty easy in Jenkins class. There's a lot of weekly stuff, commenting and what not, but nothing tough. Interesting class, I liked her.(:
I found her to be very funny and easy to relate to. She is not the best at getting papers back to you, but if you let her know that really need it she will make sure to get it done.
I found her online class to be tough, she does not get back in a timely mannor and the woek for this 3 cr.class was more work than my eng.101 and bioanthropology which i was taking also. As a teacher in a classroom she is great( had her for psych200) but online not so much.
I did not like this class. she was extremely easy. lectured for 45 mins and sent you home 1hr+ early. 20min exam every week on chapter, then sent you home. Easy class, easy A. but I was expecting more. I did not learn much or enjoy it. Prof had very extrovert personality.
I loved Debi :) She was very real, and I enjoyed her as a person and as a professor. It is hard get anything but a good grade in this class, but she does have quizzes that you have to study for. There are study guides though, and they help tremendously! If you're taking Psych, youd be missing out of you didn't take it with Debi!
Probably one of the best teachers EVER. She is so funny and down to earth! You never get bored and it wasn't very hard. You get study guides so if you study what's on them, you'll do great. There was also a paper and I got a 100% and I've never gotten that high of a grade on a a paper.
I wasn't a huge fan of Debbie. I took this class online so she might be better in person. However, She rarely returns emails and she makes poor use of the online system and didn't post grades during the term. Also she requires a lot of "busy" work.
Very difficult to communicate with. Hardly answered any e-mails. Other than that she took a while to post grades.
She seems like a very nice person, But when shes teaching its a different story she is VERY inconsistent with grading and gives a whole bunch of excuses why she hasn't graded assignments. She also makes you pick from a list what you did wrong so your playing the guessing game. I plan on majoring in this area, and i haven't learned anything.
This is my second online class with her, and I have had the same issues in both ECE classes. She is very confusing and unclear on assignment. All assignments must be turned in to pass; one missing assignment and you will fail the class. She is very inconsistent in her grading. Way too much work for a 3 credit class!
I loved Debi (:. She is very clear with guidelines. You need to turn everything in to pass, She explains directions clearly, and responds quickly to emails. I plan on majoring in this field and i would love to take more classes with her in the future. Definitely take her!
I took this online course because it seemed very interesting. Whereas I enjoyed the content the lack of efficiency of the teacher has made me dislike it. She didn't look over her agendas before posting them to see if they applied to the current course. Also, when something incorrect was pointed out to her she insisted that it was my error not hers.
I loved the class layout, makes it much easier if you have other classes. Debra is very nice and quick to help or respond to any issues.
While this professor was very nice, this class was so pointless and dumb. I didn't learn anything at all. The work was incredibly easy... So easy that I have 100% in the class. You just do the assignments on time and you'll get a good grade. Take this easy class if you need more credits. Not if you're interested in childhood development.
This class was a life changing experience for me. At first I did't enjoy the class. I did't understand the concepts because they were totally new to me. At about the 3rd or 4th week something clicked and I really started to enjoy every bit of the class. Ms. Jenkins gives very detailed instructions that make homework assignments very easy to follow.
If you are looking for an Easy A I definitely recommend this class. There are a lot of exams, but they are open book and all answers can be found in the text. If you complete the assignments and do good on the tests you will get an A.
Assignment due dates are all out of whack, not in conjunction to the week that the assignments are in. She puts all the instructions for assignments in a weekly agenda instead of on the actual assignment which is very annoying. A LOT of HW, she assigned us to read two articles (totaling 80 pages) and write reflections on both in one day (!!)
worst teacher I have ever had. Assigns way too much work for a 3 credit class. Does no actual lectures of her own, rather just has students read articles and watch hours of videos and then summarize or answer questions. Assigned a four page paper, that in order to write you have to watch at least 3 hours worth of videos. Ridiculous!
Got mad any time I tried to ask a question, gave lots of attitude and wasn't clear on assignments. She needs to get it together because she's mean and unprofessional.
There is a LOT of reading for this class--two chapters every week, you will finish the textbook by the end of the quarter. There are 2 papers based on online projects, she is a very easy grader and gives lots of positive feedback. Most of the online discussions were drafts of each portion of your final paper--which made the final project so easy!
This class was very interesting and each week there was 1-2 tests and a discussion post. There was a project of My Virtual adult and child which was interesting. However, the tests were weighted heavier than all of the assignments. Each test question was worth 4 points which could make or break your grade.
It seemed like the professor wasn't exactly ready for an online class. The class wasn't hard, and neither was the material, but instructions for assignments were difficult to find and understand. The class was also centered around 2-3 (easy) exams a week and nearly no discussion posts, which was a bit awkward for an online class.
Professor Jenkins is very kind and I enjoyed her class. She always responds to emails quickly and is very helpful. As I had a heavy course load while I took her class, it was nice having a class that had enjoyable readings and simple exams/assignments. Exams are open note/book which is helpful. Pretty sure If you just do the work youll get an A
This class was a breeze! We were mainly graded on a weekly quiz and quick discussion posts. Debra always gave great feedback and was clear about what was expected.
The class was fine. Half way through I realized I could take quizzes and have the book open at the same time (class and textbook are through Revel). I emailed her twice throughout the quarter and never heard back from her. I don't think she ever addressed the class the entire quarter unless there is website issues. Doesn't give any feedback.
This is the easiest class I have taken at Clark, I finished the entire course by midterms with a 20 credit load. There are short 15 point quizzes taken through Revel (online textbook), a project through Revel (MyVirturalLife), and a few discussion posts!
Definitely wouldn't recommend this professor. Assignments were unclear majority of the time & hardly made sense. This was an online class and she would only be online for a few hours during the day Monday-Thursday, but all assignments were due on weekends, so if you had questions about them you were out of luck! Wouldn't take a class with her again
I have gotten good grades on most of my assignments. However I recieved no credit on two assignments due to misunderstanding one section out of the whole assignment. I do not reccommend this professor for this specific class. For a three credit class she gives out homework that would take me hours to complete. Her ECE 115 class was great though.
The professor is awful at answering emails. Emailed her multiple times about a phone conference, didn't get a response, and she told me I would have to take the incomplete on a 125 point assignment. Assignments had multiple spelling and grammar errors. Wouldn't recommend taking any online class from her.
This instructor never wanted to answer any of my questions or emails. She would tell me to refer to the syllabus, even if it wasnt in there. She told me I should not expect instructors to do everything for me. Little did she know I have worked my hardest at Clark for 3 years. I have never felt so belittled. My classmates got me through the class.
Throughout the quarter, you raise an online virtual child and write a paper about that (you write discussion posts throughout that you compile into the essay) and you do an online adult simulator that you also write a paper about. There are 1-3 weekly quizzes as well, but they are untimed and answers can easily be found in the textbook.
Honestly the worst prof I've ever had in my life. She doesn't teach. She uses someone else's lecture. She's snarky and condescending. All she does is dish out vague assignments and grades, and good luck getting any help or feedback. Unfortunately I've had to take her classes twice and I think I'll have to again. Clark, PLEASE hire someone else.
She literally gave the entire class a 0 on four discussion posts, sent out a snarky announcement belittling us because we didnt respond to peers (because she didnt instruct us to respond to peers). Shes rude. Shes condescending. Shes completely unwilling to help, and will be very hostile in any responses you might get.
She'll completely zero your grade if you have a small formatting error -- no partial credit here. The same goes for discussions, it's all or nothing. Kinder with her feedback, but tough with grading. Some things are unclear in the syllabus she refers you to. I don't recommend this class if you're an online student, at least.
Extremely weird and inconsistent grading; doesnt believe in partial credit, will give 0's for minor formatting errors. I worked hard on several assignments and got 0's for formatting errors. Assignment instructions are often not clear, and she will still mark you down for not meeting the unspecified instructions. Takes weeks to grade anything.
Professor Jenkins is the worst professor I had at Clark. One of her quizzes had an incorrect closure date on it, the class couldn't take it. I sent a polite email trying to communicate this. The response I got was strange and condescending, she asks me if I am accusing her of something. The email was so bizarre, I wish I could post it here.
Rudest and most condescending teacher I have ever encountered. Don't plan on messaging her with any questions you may encounter because she won't give you a straightforward answer. She belittles you for even asking. She was so rude that I dropped her class immediately. I never drop classes. I knew I would not succeed having a prof w/ that attitude.
Terrible Class, She's rude and the only teacher I reported to the Dean's Office. 10/10 do not recommend.
Does not take the time to explain assignments. Does not answer questions on assignments. Only works monday-friday, but all assignments are due on the weekend. Will give a 0 grade for small errors on assignments. Can not answer questions about her own rubric. Has an unclear syllabus and always says to refer to it if you have any questions.
This professor does not give partial credit. Will give you a zero for small formatting mistakes. Feedback is horrible, she doesn't specify what you need to fix. She will give you a zero for missing something that was not mentioned in the rubric. She takes weeks to grade as well, which leaves you with a massive workload of assignments to fix.
Assignments are interesting, but very precise and stingy. Only gives full points if everything is perfect, but allows resubmission. One mistake = 0. Feedback on good papers is encouraging, feedback on bad papers is limited and confusing. I respect this professor, but she struggles with clear online communication. She might be clearer in-person.
This was the worse class I have ever taken! There were a lot of assignments due every week. None of our main assignments were on the Canvas Calendar. She never responded to email, took forever to grade, and never gave any feedback on assignments. We had to wait weeks for her to get back from vacation just to get our course grade.
Directions are horrible and unclear for assignments and when you ask for help she just tells you to re-read the syllabus. You either get a 100% or a zero on assignments for a nit-picky, minor mistake. She clearly puts no effort into her courses and it's a shame she is also the head of the education department.
Doctor Jenkins is a decent professor. She has one big assignment due every Sunday. She has us purchase 2 textbooks and we have a lot of reading to do. If you do not have a title page, she gives you a 0 and brings your grade down. If you get one thing wrong, she will grade it as a 0. But you have a lot of chances to fix it. She is a decent person...
This is the worst professor I have had. I took her for PSYCH 100 and 200 because she was the only one available. Half of the assignments were the same for two different levels of classes. Also, she sent out the same 2 emails in both classes. 1. she had COVID 2. on the last day of class told us that there were 3 weeks of work due that day. AWFUL!
At the beginning she was okay, but as we progressed through the term, she became worse. She would give you a zero for HER unclear directions and lack of communication, and she was extremely confusing to the point that it was discouraging. She leaves grades unfixed and she is easily offended over small questions.
This teacher has CLEARLY stopped caring about teaching. Her assignments are a disaster, this was a summer course, so it was shorter than a regular quarter and she very obviously copied and pasted the assignments over from a regular quarter as due dates are all out of line. Directions are unclear, disorganized and all over the place. DONT TAKE HER!
Overall she was alright, the one thing that ticked me off though was that if you had one mistake in your paper instead of just taking a certain amount of points off she would just give you a 0 and you had to fix it and resubmit it.
Strict grading, but assignments are interesting. Feedback can be limited and confusing. Consider using Unstuck study for helpful study resources alongside the textbook.
Dr. Jenkins was very tough. After spending hours on a project, she gave me a zero. When I asked for feedback, she just referred me to the syllabus, which didn't help. Though she let me redo the assignment, she made me feel incompetent. I'll take her again out of necessity, but she shouldn't be teaching—she was unkind.
Dr. Jenkins is not very helpful or understanding of students with disabilities. She was provided information from the disability access center regarding my needs and accommodations. When I was struggling to understand her expectations in the way she had worded it in the syllabus her response was rude and just constantly said refer to the syllabus
If you thoroughly read the syllabus and do the course work, you will be fine. At first it seems like she's a harsh grader, but honestly she just wants you to get 100%, and so if you miss something, she will give you a zero so it gets your attention. After you fix whatever it is she said, you'll get 100%.
Maybe this was just a bad choice in classes first term back in college but it didn't have to be THIS rough. Directions are unclear, feedback is condescending, due dates are all over the place, textbook is made nearly impossible to navigate, and getting grades/feedback takes WEEKS leaving you with a pile of things to fix all at once due to deadlines
I took this class online. I honestly had a hard time with the class at first but I eventually got the hang of it. The teacher was very specific on how she wants all homework done but explicitly outlines in in the syllabus. I think she was a pretty easy grader either being 100% or 0% till done correctly. I would take her again overall a good.
She only gives 0s or 100s so unless your assignment is perfect she won't give you a good grade. She also takes a very long time to look over resubmitted work and refuses to take accountability when she does something wrong. She puts blame on the student for not being perfect and reaching out for help and clarification on work.
EDUC240.She's tough & has high expectations. You need to follow her directions exactly or risk a zero. It's stressful at times, but she allows redos and gives fantastic feedback. Her strict style really pushed me to grow, and once I adjusted, the class challenged me but wasn't hard. You'll learn a lot if you can follow directions.
This professor I would not recommend. Its 0 or 100. She cares more about citing the textbook than you actually learning something. The textbook is hidden in the study plans and those don't even count towards your grade, so what's the point of even doing those? I would not take her again.
You either get a 0 or 100, every professor I've had has been very nice and understanding and really cares about you learning. This professor was the complete opposite
This professor is more concerned with her ego than helping students learn. She refuses to answer emails unless addressed as “Doctor” and treats students in a condescending, unhelpful way. She's decent at teaching the material, but her attitude and lack of approachability make her class frustrating. She gets offended when people have other opinions.
Not even second day and I have an F.
In all of my years at different universities, I've never had a professor like her. The first thing she does is find a reason to give you a zero. I receive feedback that isn't even relevant to the work I turned in; unsure if she's even looking at my work. I sent an email for clarification and received a rude response. Save yourself and take another!
