nice prof and great TAs. helpful lectures. readings were very reasonable (only 1 course kit) and interesting. grading is very fair and she gives review questions for the multiple choice tests which are very helpful. take home tests aren't bad either.

Compassionate and gentle lady. Although her lectures may lack some substance, she is enjoyable. As a first year student, she is a treat to have. She is my best prof all year!

Not only does she present the course material effectively, but she involves students in applyign the knowledge during lecture. I look forward to her class all week :)

She's nice enough but her lectures are a little dry. The course amterial is interesting, but I wish the actual lectures had more substance. She is always willing to help though and that makes all the difference.

Very easy going teacher which makes the lectures a comfortable place to be. Though he lectures can often get boring but she does mix it up by adding videos to watch. Overall, if you have a chance to get in her class, take it and if you put in any effort, you are garenteed at least a B.

Great Prof, makes class interesting and interactive, TAs are awesome. MC tests a lil confusing but helps a great deal with study questions.

A profesor that goes out of her way to help students pass her course. Best professor if you're looking to take a second year sociology course. Clear in her lectures and no surprises in exams. Awesome class, awesome prof.

I dunno what these other ppl are saying. She's an amazing prof! I would definitely take another course with her. She cares about her students and the readings are really interesting. Plus she provides study questions for her MC tests which help you so much when you studying. GREAT PROF!!!

Overall she was good, The powerPoints helped and the multiple choice tests were a good idea with the study guide. I didn't like doing group work in such a large class but overall was a good class!

I took 2060 & 2070 with her and she is fair.Lectures are easy to follow and she tries to make them interesting. gives study questions for mc tests so that helps a lot. There's an adequate amt of reading. take home tests are fair. overall, i recommend taking a course with her.. she is much better than fall semester prof nancy mandell

the only thing good about this professor was that she gave you the multiple choice questions before the test.....other then that she was boring and her final exam question was impossible...

Boring prof, talks to slow and although probably means well, ends up lecturing to us as if we were grade 9s. Very easy, had Tomoko for TA and she was easy also. Only highlight of the year was the escort she brought in as a guest speaker.

very good prof! she is helpful and so clear, sends out nice emails with updates, does her best so we understand whats going on, very thorough outline of the course, take home exam but its a bit hard

Her study questions for the tests were very helpful. She was organized and clear during lecture, however, she is boring. She speaks in such a slow manner, like we were in middle school. She also takes alot of time to collect her thoughts, leaving us there to wait for her . All in all the class was easy, but her lecturing style was quite boring.

She is a great prof,She is very nice person! Her lecture's are interesting and clear! But her MC test reviews are not helpful. I find the tests to be very tricky even when knowing the material.

She gives study questions for her tests which give away the answers. Drives me nuts to sit in her lectures,she can never find the words she wants to say. Always pausing to gather her thoughts, shes all over the place. VERY frustrating. Instead of being straight forward she TRIES to use "sociological" terms which screws everyone up! easy A though

I've had at York - so far. She does give study q. for her exams which are helpful in not just memorizing answers but actually having the time to understand materia

I really liked her, I think she was an excellent prof. her tests were SO easy and incredibly fair. all you have to do is pay attention in class and you are guaranteed a good mark. The two take home exams could not have been easier, and she made it so easy to succeed. I loved her and the class!

Dr. Langan is a bright and enthusiatic professor who always had a pleasant attitude. While not always 'on the ball' in terms of clarity or insight, her lectures were easy to follow and worth attending. Furthermore, her tests were ridiculously easy because she gave study guides that foretold every question that would be on the test.

Prof. Langan is very nice, and she made her half of this course very interesting. She is well organized, encourages class discussions, her tests are multiple choice AND easy! just use her study guide! the take home, interesting and i found it easy, i highly recoment this course for any SOCI students and the like. A+

Professor Langan was an awesome prof.Tests were easy as long as you answer the questions she gives you in the Study Guide.The take home exams were fairly easy too providing you know how to write an essay,and clarify what is required of you with your TA(Tomoko is the best!).Go to lectures because she asks questions about videos and lecture content.

She is a really good professor. Her m/c questions are really easy if you've answered all the study guide questions and have been to lecture.

I like this teacher. She has a very nice attitude, helpful, she is fair and she knows her stuff very well. She wants all her students to do well in her class. She also values your opinion and is always interested in what you have to say. She makes sociology interesting too. I wouldn't mind having her as a teacher every year. She is really good.

She is very helpful. Attending her lectures may be boring, but she tries to make them as fun as possible. She is always willing to help, and go over any question. BUT BEWARE MUL, CHOICE TESTS!

An amazing prof - highly recommended. Truely cares for her students and wants them to succeed. Easy lectures, take-home exams, but tricky MC tests. Tip: lots of her test questions come from her lectures/lecture notes so try and pay attention. Overall, a nice, easy class and very sweet, understanding prof. Will certainly take another class with her!

AMAZING!! One of the best Professors at York! Very nice and approachable. The course itself is interesting and easy. Essays are interesting. Prof Langan is amazing! She really cares about her student's success. Her MC test are pricky tricky but hey, this is University. Langan is an inspiration and I'm so glad I took this first year course with her. I couldn't ask for a better prof. She includes the whole group as part of her lectures which makes for a interactive lecture and alot of fun

amazing prof i just started her class this year had her only 3 times so far but shes ana amzing teacher does not stand for 3 hours and talk but instead lets us do group work and comunicate with each ohter/ gives great ex of wat she wants assignments 2 look like by sendng ex to ur york u email. TAS 4 this class r great too!!

Had her last year, and must say she made the course very easy and more than fair. Her take home exams were not difficult and neither were her quizzes. However she is quite a boring lecturer, but still attend because several questions that are on quiz come from lecture

Prof Langan was an amazing prof. She is very compassionate & caring towards students. Sometimes her classes felt too easy. We had to sit in groups the entire year. We did not use one text book. Sometimes over taught and made us feel like fifth graders, however, personally i'd rather be overtaught than undertaught. Overall great!

Great class best version of methods I've heard very involved and I actually remember everything I was taught! Great prof she should be re-hired!
