The Most Mediocre and Unprofessional Professor I've ever had. If you want to pass with a mediocre grade without learning ANYTHIG, take her. But as Adults going to college, I don't think that's the point.

This teacher will not grade your work and if she does she will not let you know what you need help with. Very unprofessional…you will not learn a thing in her class... at ALL. If you just want to waste your money in watching movies then take her but she will frustrate you. Believe me!

This has to be the worst English teacher I have ever had!!! I LOVE ENGLISH and this lady made me want to jump out the classroom window. Very boring, her class does not follow the Syllabus and just shows movies (and bad ones at that). Do NOT take ANY class with this professor. I had the worst possible time trying to keep my grades up, and she would NOT even let me know what I needed to fix! All in all, one of the worst experiences I have ever had at Miami-Dade. I would take a Benterkia class over hers! At least he was funny! She doesn't even teach. Movie after decades-old movie and paper after pointless paper. Forget that! You want to learn? AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!!

Oh dear... I don't think I've ever watched as many boring movies in such I short period of time. Due dates of papers were never really clear, and even then, the date was extended several times. Papers were every so often handed back, but with lousy grades. I will give her props for showing us two DECENT movies: Hide & Seek and Constantine.

Do NOT take this professor!!! Even if you register late and theres no one else left, just wait till next semester! She grades horribly no one ever new what the assignments were there was never really a due date. i handed in ALL my assignments on the last week of classes. BORING movies! WARNING!!! Guys please do not take this class unless you want to fail or get a bad grade. She does not know what she is doing she lost most of the assignments of every student and at the end we had to do make up work. It is a boring class and she doesn't teach at all. Is not an easy class and no one from my classroom got a B everyone got a C or a lower grade.

take the class online, you will learn more. she shows you boring movies. a lot of essays to turn in (13). Make sure you make extra copies of your papers because she will lose them and give you a bad grade. Worst professor ever. get any other professor.

This professor just give you movies in hours class all semester and then she give a low grade without any kind of evaluation and she is very incompetent in her teaching she make that you lose your money because she did not teach anything just give movies is a movie theater more expensive. PD the colleges don't care about this situation.

She lost 2 of my papers and told me I was going to pass with an A or a B and for some reason She gave me a C and F*cked up my GPA. This lady is the worst professor i've had in MDC. She doesn't teach, just watch movies in every class. She didn't reutrn any paper that i turned in. I did everything she asked me to do plus extra credit and still didnt get an A. If you dont care about ur GPA and dont care to learn how to write then by all means take her.

I originally had Mr. Machado but he had a heart attack and then I got stuck with this her as a substitute. Had I known she was this disorganized and unprofessional, I would have dropped the course. ALL the reviews are right. Looses EVERYTHING you turn in and then gives you C or D. MDC should SERIOUSLY look into disciplining or firing her. NIGHTMARE

i got stuck with this professor when i was suppoused to have another one. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. very unclear and disorganized, DOES NOT ANSWER E-MAILS, WE NEVER MET ONLINE, NOTHING. if you want an easy A just go but make sure to keep up with her disorganizednes and write everything down...otherwise i dont recommend this professor AT ALL

One of the more slacking class there is.Given a syllabus (which we didnt follow at ALL) We had class in the new building R, so since the projector didnt work we went to the computer court yard everyday for the semester. All we did was watch movies and write essays on it. 7 journals any more are extra credit. 5 essays and 1 termpaper 10paraghraphs

disorganized, you never know what grade you have in class till your grades are posted on the Miami Dade College Student Portal... i talked to her the last day of class and she told me that i did everything and that i was going to be ok and yes, i did everything she said and i was expecting an A, and she gave me a C !!!

This professor is very unprepared for class. She changes her mind about most things and does not give clear directions about assignments that are due. Wouldn't say it's an english class because she would play movies instead of assign things to read. Do not take this class. You will probably not pass even if you are doing all of the assignments.

DO NOT TAKE HER. She is a horrible professor. We spent the whole semester watching movies which we then had to write an essay on, sounds easy but you never know what grade you got on them until the end of the course. On the last day she'll call you up to tell your score and you'll have a C or D in the class. No matter if you did all the assignments

Professor Matthews is nice but very DISORGANIZED! She gives you many chances to make up work but never grades anything until last minute. The last day of class she calls everyone up to see their final grades but still misses to put things in so you still don't know what grade you end up with. I DO NOT RECOMMEND if you want a high passing grade!

Really nice lady, but her grading scale is never accurate. Given a 20/40 because I missed ONE comma, and when you ask why she takes points off, she usually fails to give proper answer. A lot of essays but no strict deadline. Continually pushes back when essays are due, so don't stress if you miss a due date. Very heavily relies on extra credit.

I did all the assignments, turned it all the extra credit assignments, I did everything on time, passed all the quizzes. I even got extra credit points for collecting papers. And I ended with a C like- She's nice but her grading principles are tragic. The class isn't difficult it's just her grade managing rubric sucks.

Matthews is nice but her grading is terrible. You hand in things in time, correctly (even if her rubrics are vague af) & you will still get a low grade. Doesn't keep her word most of the time & you can't even email her abt concerns or grades which you won't know until the end of the semester. I advise viewing your options before picking her :/

Worst teacher I've had. Her grading criteria is so unorganized. Horrible teacher, she just sits on her desk, puts up work on the Promethean board, and tells us to do it. For the sake of your GPA and your sanity... AVOID HER.

I certainly do not accustom to come on here and provide feedback but this professor goes above and beyond to do a POOR job. She does not check the work; she will look at what you get in the first assignment and mimic that. She does not provide any feedback and it shows. Honestly, do not risk your GPA or mental well-being; AVOID this professor.

She does not provide feedback or clear instructions yet proceeds to make up the grades. She does not truly grade the assignments but rather will try to input grades based on the very first assignments you do (for which she does provide feedback). One of my essays was edited by a college professor and still scored 5/10. Avoid her, sincerely.

This class is HORRIBLE because of this professor. She is a really tough grader and takes forever to grade your work. You do your work and she doesn't even read it, only goes by what turnitin says. She is a nice person but does not know what she is doing. My whole class is failing, DO NOT take her.

Professor Matthews is a kind teacher and caring. However, her grading is horrible and confusing. I literally did every extra credit she gave and did my best to pass her essays with high scores. At the end, no one received an A and the higher grades were Bs that people lucky like me were able to achieve. Do not take her! There are better teachers.

This professor is no good. If you are planning on actually learning something in an English class do not choose this professor. She waits till the end of the semester to grade anything and you have to wait to find out your grade. She talks about her personal life the entire class and never teaches just give you the work.

She is a very nice professor who does want you to pass her class and wont be strict with due dates. However she will not grade any work until the last day of her class. Will give you a lot of homework with a short amount of time and most of her work is busy work but extremely tedious Wouldn't recommend please don't take it if you don't want stress

It has been three months in the semester. We are already in November, and she still has not graded any paper. However, she does send a ton of homework. As of now, I have written the exact number of 26 essays that are still ungraded. She will grade based on Turnitin eventually, which means she will not read your work but base it on a system.

absolutely awful, there is no way to see your grade progress throughout the semester as she waits till the absolute last minute to tell you them. she does offer at least two extra credits a week that add up at the end. work load is a lot but all relatively easy.

I feel so bad but this woman should not be teaching. She is unfit to teach, we had to do all the work for her, we graded our own assignments at the end of the year with no type of organization. This professor doesn't do anything herself!!! She tells us what our homework is at the beginning of every class and then sits on her phone for the remainder of the time. Her son uploads all the homework. She doesn't put in any grades throughout the semester but gives a ton of assignments. I don't understand why she still works here. SAVE YOURSELF!!

As you can tell from the other ratings, this professor might need to retire already. I don't want to hate on her but she didn't reply to emails, messages or anything. She hardly puts instructions for work. And told us too late if there was class or not. Do not take her class.

First off do not take this class if you want your gpa to suffer!! She put the grades in the last day of class! She grades all the assignments based off turnitin percentage plagerism only. Don't take her. Very nice, but she sincerely shouldn't be working. Lots of personal issues and she doesn't grade until the last week of class. She doesn't answer her emails, she doesn't even know how, and isn't by any means good with tech even though she expects all assignments online. Don't stress yourself out, take someone else.

this lady is a nightmare. she is simply the worst i have encountered in my life. please dont do this to urself because you will start balding of stress. also, mdc is unhelpful and talking to them is like talking to a wall. this institution is a mess and debra is a huge part of it. this lady needs medical help instead shes teaching. dont take her.
