HORRIBLE!!
sucks
She is so bad, explains questions with even more questions. Tests are confusing as all hell. Dont take if you want to pass with high grade
Long winded, bad jokes, knows her stuff but I didn't take anything away from the class, except maybe a migraine.
Gives extra credit. Is always available for assistance. Course is difficult, but she writes her tests and teaches everything in class. (Haven't read the book since the 2nd wk.) To do well, attend all classes, take good notes-no sleeping-and ask questions!
Very nice but a little strange. You can tell she is really enthusiastic about economics but she tends to be hard to keep up with. Tests aren't easy. Don't study the day before the test, it will not get you a good grade.
Could hardly stay awake while this lady talked! took the class in high school, only reason I got a 'B' otherwise, I felt like I was on my own..
Although Paige knows economics inside and out, I would not recommend her. The test questions do not come from the book or her lectures, and we can't figure out where they do come from. This is a very hard class and even more so with a hard teacher. I would recommend taking someone else if possible.
Class requires studying but overall she is easy to get along with
she's corny but the class isn't hard. i took it as a summer class, never studied and got an A. if you arent very good with math, don't take the class because that's all it is. her examples are really helpful and make alot of sense. shes also a really interesting person as a whole to talk to.
i thought it was a pretty easy class. Do the hws and you'll be fine. The tests are from lecture and the hw problems. A few questions on the test are tricky, but still pretty easy to get an A.
a rude teacher who discriminates. I had the worse time with her. Sincerely, i always went to her office hours for help, but instead of helping me, she would rudely talk back making me fell dumb. there are better prof. out there teaching micro-economics. i would suggest not to take care. i repeat if u want to good in this class do not take her.
Although this teacher talks a mile a minute, as long as you do the homework and come to class, you should have no problem. Paige sets up many office hours for students to come by if you have any problems.
She is great!
Secret to this class: Go on her santa fe instructor website, and download/print all the notes by section that she has posted for her honors students. The tests are directly from them! After figuring that out I never went to class and still got an A. Had to study 3-5 hours for the test and do the HW. She is very wierd and zany, but also funny.
She is not a bad teacher. She is very smart and talks a lot in class but you have to pay close attention to her lectures in order to understand what she's saying because sometimes she gets off track in her explanations. Download lectures from her website, tests are from there. I got a B. Not very helpful in office hours.
This is probably the best class I have ever taken in my life. She is a subject matter expert on economics. Her assignments can be tough, but they force you to learn and research economics on your own. I recommend this teacher and this class to anyone.
Great Teacher!!! If you read her book on the web you easily can get a B.
Very good teacher, kind of boring but knows what she is talking about and is very helpfull with problems. One of the few teachers that actually wants to see her students do well.
The only thing I didn't like about this class is that there's really no discussions. It's a straight lecture class. If you read her online notes and show up to class, you practically don't need the book.
Great class! If you are a Business major you really learn with this professor.
There is no doubt that she knows her stuff, but her class lectures will put you to sleep if you are not careful. Study the worksheets and her on-line notes and passing should not be a problem.
She is a nice teacher. Her class isn't easy, but you will learn alot. I am taking her again for macro.
She definitely knows her stuff, but her tests are very tricky. She also gives several extra credit assignments, do them trust me you'll probably need it. I don't reccommend taking Macro and Micro during the summer...too much information to learn in 6wks.
She is Ok
good teacher, extremely boring, test are kinda hard but use her online text
Lectures are REALLY boring. Test are REALLY hard. Her test encludes essay reponse question which must be about a page long or more to get full credit. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!
At first i was really scared off by micro eco but after taking her class it was not as bad as i thought it would be. she is a really great teacher and knows her stuff. keep up with her online notes you should be able to pass the class. all she does is lecture which can be boring at times, ask questions and get involved to learn the material
Do not take her. Nothing but lectures and very hard tests. Economics seems to be her life and she expects the same of her students. This is a hard subject but she makes it even harder.
Horrible teacher. told our class we wernt trying hard enough and that we should drop and take an easier teacher. Told us she covers more topics and goes deeper into them than any of the others. Do no take.

Very smart teacher, knows economics like i know ur mom, H.W. is easy, 3 (hard) exams, 10 H.W., if you read what she tells you to read u will def get a B. if u want to learn economics TAKE PAIGE.
MACRO WAS GREAT! I ENDED UP WITH A VERY HIGH 90 ON THE FINAL AND AN "A" IN THE CLASS!
Take as much aderal as possible before attending her class or you will fall a sleep no question. She is very boaring and very corny. Tests are hard and she grades essays strictly. Take an easier teacher for sure.
In Macro there are 3 tests and are worth a total of 75% of your grade, and her class includes nothing but lecture. Her helpfulness outside of class kind of depends on her mood, it goes from why did I waste my time to ohh now i got it. Shes a nice person though, and she really cares about what she teaches.
This class was extremely hard I don't care what other people say. I am very smart and have even already taken economics. Class is all lectures, and there are 3 tests that are 75% of your grade (and they are super hard). She grades strictly and will put you to sleep. Everyone around me did terrible also. I withdrew. DONT take this class!
Her class is not easy but if you actually read her book (you print the pages from her site) and participate in her class discussions then you should be fine. I think I will make a B and I didn't even read most of the chapters...I plan on taking her next semester for Macro
Ms. Paige was not helpful at all. She talks to you like you're dumb. I found her rolling her eyes at me.She made the environment very hostile. I wasn't able to learn. She made me doubt myself. I had to teach myself with three different books to get a B+. She has her favorite students that she will help during office hours. Do not take.
Why is she still at SFCC?There is a huge difference between knowing material and being able to teach it.She cannot teach.Makes you feel dumb for asking questions. Homeworks are her ways to get back at students. Talks to herself and in my opinion is mentally unstable. Please, DO NOT TAKE HER.If you do, you will see exactly what i'm talking about.
I'm not going to lie that shes a bit weird, or that some of her tests can be a little rough. If you take good notes, actually read the suggested material, and visit her for office hours, you won't get lower than a B. I would take her again.
I had her for both macro and micro - she's def not easy but if you do the work and actually study u will do fine. She can be weird but overall she's cool :] DO THE HOMEWORK SHEETS THEY ARE HELPFUL IN STUDYING FOR THE TESTS! I got an A this semester in micro and last semester got a B in macro. Would take her again if I needed more econ classes
she's a little weird and she'll admit it, tests werent too hard, go to class and she'll like you and help you, hw is graded do them all and study her study guides and you'll do fine, i got 100 on the final an A in the class, wasnt that hard
VERY HELPFUL, BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK TO MAKE A GOOD GRADE. SHE GIVES YOU A LOT OF CHANCES FOR EXTRA CREDIT, WHICH I TOOK ADVANTAGE OF. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS CLASS AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER AS AN INSTRUCTOR.
A little wierd, talks to her self, plays online role playing games, lives with mom at 40 and will addmit all of this. She is still a GREAT TEACHER. You have to do a little work to get an A but I mannaged it and so did many others. I took her for MACRO and MICRO and would take her again if I had to take another economic class.
HARD TEACHER! Does not care! Talks to herself, goes off on tangents during class. Had to take a W with this class or I would have recieved an F otherwise. Will work with you in her office, but explains things WAY above your level, I'm in in the honors society! WATCH OUT!
Horrible teacher. Talks to herself. Isn't clear when talking about things. Goes off into tangents when taking notes.
I got a C on the first test and an A on the second and a B on the final and an A overall. Lots of E.C. opportunities; youre allowed to rewrite essay on first test and 4 pts are added to second and third test. Also you're allowed to write an extended paper for E.C. Great teacher overall if you are willing to study.
Professor Paige is harmless. She does go off on tangents but they do pertain to the lessons. Not a lot of extra credit but there is some so take advantage of it. She has office hours very early in the morning but I didn't find them very helpful. 4 unit exams and no comprehensive final- lots of graphing
Not a good professor at all. Not helpful in anyway, doesn't care about the students. Not clear with her lectures and classes are really boring. Has favorites and just likes to communicate with them. Doesn't even care to know the rest of our names except the favorites. Even though i got a B in that class, it was not because of her. Don't take her
She is harmless and the class is not complicated. If you cannot handle this class, you are not college bound...period. Take her class, learn a lot and walk away with an A.
Tough class, Paige is very smart but has a hard time keeping herself together. Very boring lecturer and will snoop all around class attempting to catch texters in the act. Lots of busy work
I really like Deb Paige. She can go off on tangents, but overall she is a decent lecturer. She does have an awesome grading scale so it should be easy to get a good grade. Tests are hard though and she only offered 1 EC opportunity.
Our class started with about 25 people it is a week before the final and it is only 5 people in the class now. She is very boring many do better not coming to class and studying on their own because she uses a textbook that she personally wrote that says the same things that she says in class. Attedance isn't noted.
I loved econ before I had this teacher. Now I hate it. Has A LOT of trick questions on homework and tests. Lectures on things that aren't relative. Offers help and likes when you ask but donesn't make it much clearer. Boring class lots of homework. If you have a short attention span and don't like doing hard homework, DON'T TAKE THIS TEACHER.
She's fun and incredibly passionate about economics. She truly cares about her students. However, in class you are never really sure what information is important and what is irrelevant. This can make studying in general very difficult, and also adds a degree of difficulty to the tests that isn't helpful.. It's just confusing.
I liked Ms. Paige. I thought she spoon fed us answers for all the homework- directly out of her lectures. I found myself making it harder than it was. The tests were a bit more confusing because you actually had to think your way through them. But she provides all you need to know from the lectures. Barely used the book.
Very knowledgeable about economics. 90% of class is lectures, but she offers powerpoint lectures online thru angel. She will send them to you to print. Get them and listen to the lecture before class and you will make an A.
I really enjoyed her class. She is enthusiastic about what she teaches and knows what she is talking about. She is very well structured and as long as you listen to the lectures and study, the class is easy. By far one of my favorite teachers though.
Prof. Paige was AMAZING! I was dreading having to take Economics, and I ended up *loving it*! Her lectures are amazing and I learned a lot. I took it over the summer so it was a lot of information in 6 weeks, but she was such a good teacher that it wasn't that hard. Really enjoyed it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER.
Prof. Paige is a truly caring teacher who will do everything she can to help you understand the material. She puts fully narrated lectures online if you missed class or need to review. Tests and homework are easy if you put forth some effort to study. Would definitely recommend over the other macro/micro teachers
Paige was awesome. She gave real world examples that I could correlate with what we were learning so I didnt even have to study for her class. Homeworks were right out of the lectures and as long as you listened to the lectures its a sure A
I took it online and it took dedication. I'm not very interested in economics but she related it to a lot of present day issues which made it easier to understand. Just study and you will do fine, but apply yourself. She is very clear and he tests are right off the lectures. I would recommend her.
Prof. Paige is honestly one of the worst professors I have ever had. I'm an A student, making Cs on every test even with excessive amounts of studying and reading. HWs are straight from lecture but tests make no sense. Her study guide is not comprehensive and at least 15% of each test seems to be random info she expects us to know. DO NOT take her!
Ms. Paige is one of the nicest teachers I've had the pleasure of taking while at SFC. Homeworks aren't easy but you get a week and half to do them and allows you to turn it in up to one class late, as long as you get it in before it starts on desk. Tests were hard but if you watch the online lectures/ quiz's you will be fine. Attend class!!
I took class online. For tests study questions from practice quizzes. Power points are very helpful. She replies promptly to emails and grades hw quickly. Available easy by office hours.
Paige was ok. Her lectures were boring and I barely went. Basically if you read on her faculty website page and download the things for her honors class, it's the same thing as going to class. Has the same examples as she gives in lecture. Do the quizzes on campus. Not mandatory, but if you learn them she puts same/ similar questions on the tests.
GREAT teacher. Can tell she has a deep love for economics and is thrilled to share that love with her students. Willing to spend time with her students and do everything she can to help you succeed. course is laid out very fair and you know what your in for on the first day of the semester. Not a cake class but learn a ton!
JUST GO EVERY DAY AND NEVER SKIP A CLASS!!!! Besides that the class isn't too bad. Just go on CANVAS and watch her video notes before class and it makes a lot more sense. Also get to class early and do the HW with other students.
She is really passionate about economics and knows a lot about it, but her classes are solely lectures and is full of unnecessary points. She is a good teacher, but in order to pass you must do the extra help on Canvas. She requires a long paper at the end of the semester. I kinda wish I took someone else. Go to class to pass, no attendance taken.
her tests have nothing to deal what she explains in class, make no sense whatsoever, do not take her
I found Professor Paige to be a great teacher. She really knows her stuff. Maybe it is because I like Economics but I always Aced the tests doing minimal studying. This was NOT the case for other students though. Many studied a lot and still got C's. So like I said, my experience could have been better than others due to my interest in the class.
She posts her classes online which is very useful because her classes are as fun and entertaining as a root canal. She's not helpful either, she'll just tell you to watch the online videos and exercises, it was very impersonal and that bothered me. However, it was not extremely challenging and I still learned a lot so it was ok.
Lectures were very boring. I stopped going to class and ended up watching her lectures on canvas. Sitting through her class was very hard and she takes very long awkward pauses during her lectures......
Economics is not an easy class, but Paige makes the class a lot easier than most teachers. I did on line classes and if you Do the home work, read, and watch the lectures you will pass. Gives ton of extra credit.
Miss Paige is a great professor. Class is not "fun" but it is interesting, attendance is not mandatory, but I recommend it. As long as you pay attention to class and watch the modules before a test you should do fine.
Ms. Paige is a very intelligent person but honestly not the best teacher. Not an easy class at all and she doesn't help much. She gives long lectures and then you have to figure it out from there. However, there is extra credit. It just depends on how hard you're willing to work. Definitely easier teachers out there. Also DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK.
You can tell she loves her subject, and I can definitely respect that compared to some other teachers I've had. The problem is, she doesn't know how to explain things in a way for people who aren't great at the subject. There are two books listed as required, but only one book is needed. She gives extra credit after each exam to help your grade.
She is passionate about economics; however that seemed to make it hard for her to get on the student level. I spent roughly 8-10 hours a week studying. She does give extra credit to be added to each test score. Responses were much delayed through canvas. HW & test questions mostly come from the lectures & quizzes. Test are tough ...
Class start out really difficult. Took this class on line, her online power points are very boring. All quizzes are open book, 3 tests that are challenging but offers extra credit on each. Skips around throughout the book which makes things a little confusing.
VERY boring lectures, and sometimes book/lecture info did not match up. Grades on 3 tests which offer extra credit. Homework and quizzes are open book. I gave up on asking her questions, as she was not helpful at all. Micro itself is interesting and she obviously enjoys her subject, but she cannot translate the info into plain English for students.
okay, worst professor you can ever take. she doesnt explain the homework prior she expects you to know how to do it by yourself, once you turn it in she will go over how to actually it tests out of this world. lectures are boring. horrible.
15 homework's and quizzes(open book) and 3 exams, gives opportunity for 10 extra points each exam. The material may not be for everyone but she does powerpoint videos that are VERY detailed and I never had to open my book. Responds fast to emails. Exams relate to quizzes, homework, and powerpoint videos. Take good notes of her videos and will pass.
Very poor teacher. Took her online class thinking it would function as a normal "online class" but not at all. You can't even use proctoru to take her exams. She's very dry and would be a better fit as a high school teacher. Forget about the college way of thinking she'll shut it down if all you're trying to do is better understand the subject.
This class is more focused on the history of economics than economics its self. One of the factors that made it so difficult is that she always explains things in so much unneeded detail, that it ends up overcomplicating things.
Took online all summer, 3 exams. Only 1 Quiz and 1 homework due each week. There is an optional extra credit during exam 1/2. and Extra credit to replace one quiz for ex3. Such a sweet sweet woman. if you are having questions shes easy to reach, responds within hours. Watch the power points, take notes and you'll pass. Def recommend Paige!!
Transfer student from Naval Academy, this was my hardest class not because of the material but because the tests. Had to do a lot of studying outside of class to do well on exams. Tends to ramble on about history of economics rather than important economics points.
Very caring instructor. She wants her students to do well. All incorrect assignment answers are returned to you with the correct answer with an explanation. Weekly homework and quiz required. 3 exams total and the final is not cumulative. She gives extra credit. I took her for both Micro and Macro online and would take her again if needed.
One quiz and homework assigned each week for a specific chapter. As long as you read the chapter, watch the lectures, take notes, do the homework and quizzes then you'll pass. It's a lot of work but videos are helpful and the book is 100% needed to study. Exams are only 30 questions and each one has an essay, but are fairly easy.
She provides extra credit for exams 1 & 2 which really help out a lot. There is one homework and quiz due every week. The only problem I found is that I never knew what to study before an exam. Quiz questions are different from what was asked on tests so fully prepare yourself and don't miss small information as it may be found on the test.
I actually enjoyed taking Economics with Professor Paige. At the beginning of the semester I really struggled to get into the economic way of thinking but I got the hang of it. If you have a Mac computer you can download her lectures using Elmedia Player. Her lectures help a TON. Study the lectures and practice quizzes and you'll do fine.
I took this class online. There were one quiz and a couple of video lectures a week. I printed her lectures out and skimmed over them before every test and got an easy A. Her weekly quizzes were honestly harder than the tests and those questions aren't even on the tests. I'll be taking her for Macro. Also, she has easy extra credit.
