she talks to much about politics and very personal issues. she rarely discusses english and when she does she is confusing and doesn't make any sense to the students. its not a hard class, but one that you can't help but be extremely frustrated with because of her attitude and speaking on very controversial subjects that get people upset

This was her web class. It was not well organized. She did not respond to emails ina timely manner. Professor Sikes is by far the best English Professor I've ever had. True, some may claim that she gives 'easy A's', but in fact you will have to work for it. Professor Sikes teaches English a little differently than most teachers. This is not a "check which sentence is grammatically correct" class. As a matter of fact the first day of class she told us that if we bought the English book to go return it. She focuses more on the way we analyze literature. I now see much more symbolism in everything.

I took her hybrid class, she was so funny and talked about real life problems. We would have to write 300 words each week for our homework to discuss what we read and then discussed it. She would explain clearly what she wanted from us. Only 2 essays and an easy presentation for final.

Dr. Sikes knows how to make her classes interesting. She cares and helps you see things from other perspectives. I highly recommend her.

Professor Sikes is a really good professor, especially if you want to pass or do well. She even accepts late work with no penalties so if you're really stressed and backed up with other due dates you can let her know you won't be turning in an essay on time and she is totally fine with it so long as you eventually get it turned in. Solid choice.
