doesn't know how to grade homework. sometimes hard to follow
Explains exercises well, is usually available for help during office hours, and is pretty nice.
Great teacher. She gives a ton of homework, but it was all worth it. I felt very prepared for the final because she emphasized what was expected. Hint: do ALL of the homework and go to class. (very important!)
She's very nice and helpful, but sometimes doesn't explain things well or confuses students.
Loses everybody in the class. You have to watch everything very closely or else you will be lost.
It was pretty easy- just do the homework and then you're set

She's very anal about everything.
Lots of homework, but it all pays off in the end when you take the common final. Good instructor, just pay attention and do the work
she's a pain in the ass, she assigns way too much homework
She is VERY anal on all of her grading. Doesnt tell you what she expects until AFTER you fail all of the homework. I suggest avoiding this teacher.
hard on homework and assigns alot of it. tests are hard unless you study book, notes, and homework front to back. horrible dont get this teacher
horrible experience!!! unprofessional, rude and unorganized.......get a different teacher!!!!
Alot of homework. The subject matter makes for difficult tests even though she explains the material very well. Very nice and supportive teacher.
HARD WORK. TOUGH GRADING. Very helpful and gracious. Attempts to make material easier with sometimes not so good teaching. Sometimes convolutes ideas and makes harder. Overall, you learn a lot.
She is evil, she laughs at you if you're wrong, will act like she helps in office hours, spends all day in there, doesn't prepare you for tests, except final but everything else counts way more, has TA's grade everything which is bad, doesn't care if you fail, just not a good teacher but does speak english so thats a plus
She is not the greatest teacher in the world. If you can I would def consider getting a different teacher unless you are a pro at math. She grades HW really hard and even harder on tests...good luck
She is very STRICT! grades hw SUPER HARSH and unfairly!!! i would definitely recommend switching to another teacher unless you are an expert in math, you have to already know alot of the material. She acts all nice like you can come talk to her and get help, but it's useless because all she does is tell you to study more!!
Mrs. Wood is an awesome teacher. This is my 2nd time taking calc at the UA, and she is by far one of the best. She gives a riduclous amount of hw and is tough on grading, but it is well worth it. I've taking the calc final before and I know first hand that she more than prepared us to ace it.
You HAVE to go to class, you HAVE to take notes, and you HAVE to do the homework when she assigns it, especially for the finance project. Wood is ok, seems to actually care about the students' progress, but you have to ask for help to get it.
ONLY take this class if you have already taken calculus otherwise you will devote your life to it and get a D or if your REALLY lucky a C. She assigns text work, worksheets and webassign as homework due everyday...more than any other teacher would assign. if you dont attend class you will fail!! tests are extremely hard and no curves
She assigns SO much homework but it comes in handy at the end of the semester because it buffers your grades a ton if you havent gotten the best scores on tests. All you have to do to get an A is do the homework and GO SEE HER if you dont get it. She loves students to come to her office hours and, guaranteed if you do get her help, you'll get an A.
She assigns a lot of homework every night and you need to do it to understand the material. She has office hours and if you don't understand the class you need to attend. She takes problems off of the homework and quizzes she hands out.
She is really hard and really strict but you learn a lot and actually understand calculus. It's A LOT A LOT A LOT of work, but if you do it and study it is PASSABLE! she is nice and very helpful if you go into her office. YOU HAVE TO GO TO CLASS EVERYDAY or you'll lose a bunch of points!
lots of homework and hard test and presentations! take another class
Not so much hard, but rather just lots of work. This is the second time I've taken this class and is a way better teacher than the first one I had. She has really bad B.O. though.
Very good teacher. Very strict though, go to her office hours they help. It also helps to have previous calculus experience before taking this class. She knows what she is talking about and from what ive heard, is better than the other 124 teachers.
annoying. inflexible. typical lack of creativity you expect to see in a math intructor.
To put it simply, she's awful. Absolutely, 100% terrible. And she's got a busted overbite.
I've never liked narcissistic people. Having one as a prof is worse.
It is impossible to understand the woman, she can't express her thoughts or articulate what she means, so if you're not already a math person she will do nothing to help you pass. She means well and tries, but doesn't have the skills for communication and treats students like babies. Take the class with another teacher, my friend did and got an A.
Don't even THINK about signing up for one of her classes. Just don't.
worst class of my life... Dont take it if you want to get good grades/ have a social life!
If you have more classes then this one, then do not take it. There was way too much homework. Definitely ruined first semester and cut into other homework/study time for other classes and social life. It is highly recommended to stay away from this class!
If you are an incoming freshman and she is your first math professor, switch out. You will be so overwhelmed with the amount of homework she gives and want to cry. So if this you first math teacher ever of college, do yourself a favor and switch out, unless you want to drown in homework your first semester of college.
If you get her as a teacher drop it asap. One of the worst teachers ever. She thinks that her class is the only one and loads you with at least 3 hours of home work a night. Just save your time and money and drop this course if you get her as a teacher.
If this is the only class you're taking, don't have a social life, don't need any assistance from the professor, then this class is for you. Otherwise, DON'T TAKE HER OR GET OUT ASAP! The amount of homework is ridiculous.
This teacher does not care nor ever think of the fact that you may have a life outside of her class. It's absolutely normal that she would assign 3-4 hrs of hw due every class period and then grade absurdly with no rhyme or reason. She often only grades select hw problems and marks 0/15 pts for just one question! She's highly unorganized and awful!
If you are smart, you will not take her section. She is a terrible teacher, gives way too much homework, and her grading makes no sense at all. She's a complete idiot and i heard 4th graders explain the math better than she did. You will get worse at math if you take this class.
Horrid class, 2 people passed out of 30. She acts like she wants to help then when you go to office hours she basically makes you feel stupid. She gave massive amounts of homework. Take it at pima and actually pass.
Why does someone who hates students THIS much work at a school? U tell me.
it's really good teacher, i don't know why there are lot of students does not like her class.to be honest, cal 124 is not a easy, what a teacher can do? just teacher you, give you works and solve your questions, every steps wood do really good. right now this semester do not finish, but i already know my grade must A. just try to work hard.
This class was really difficult but if you do all the work at the beginning of the semester it gets much easier at the end. I visited her office hours weekly and it helped a lot. I had a high C the whole semester and ended up with an A at the end. Hard work does pay off!
Her class was insanely hard but if you attempt all the homework (3hr a day) and attend her office hours, she will pass you. I had to get a 81% on the final to get a C and only got a 70. She let me go on with a C with all the work I put into this class.
Difficult class with difficult grading. She gives a ridiculous amount of homework, but if u do it all you are well prepared for the test. She is very willing to help and attending office hours is very helpful. She also gives many small quizzes so it is possible to get a good grade after bombing a test.
This is one of the most miserable classes I have ever taken.
Very helpful. Always available for office hours. Although TONS of hw is assigned, it is all totally worth. Success comes with practice. Do ALL the hw. Quizzes are given a lot to earn buffer points. Tests are very difficult but not impossible. I would recommend her. There are a lot worse profs out there. I'm glad I got Ms. Wood.
Unless you come into this class already having a strong background in Calculus, YOU WILL FAIL. Min. 3 hours of homework a day, EVERY DAY. CAUTION: If you go to office hours, prepared to be belittled and treated like a bad child. If you get her as a professor, do everything in your power to switch out of her class.
DO NOT have her as a teacher unless Math is one of your strengths. Otherwise, the homework will overwhelm you in terms of difficulty and amount. Your social life and study time for other classes will be hampered. Also, the way she grades the homework is very frustrating.
She is a great teacher, but you cannot be lazy. Tons of homework, but also extra credit opportunities. Always available if you need something and will actually explain the homework if you don't get it. Take this teacher.
Y'all are wrong. Mrs. Wood is a smart, kind, and approachable teacher. She does assign A LOT of work, but it is worth it in the end to prepare for the super hard final. She really shows that she cares for her students. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher if you're willing to put in the work to succeed.
Yes, Mrs Wood's class can be difficult, and her work can be overwhelming, but it is calculus. By doing her work, it prepared me for the tests and the final. You need the motivation and the initiative to go to see her in office hours to get help, which she gladly helps you with any questions. She really cares about her students. Take her class!
YES she will help you if you want it. But if you don't understand the material already she will belittle you and make you feel like the smallest person in the world. Went to office hours almost every day and left crying on numerous occasions because of how she treated me. Switch to a different teacher when you have the chance. TRUST ME.
She can be very condescending and she expects a lot from her students. Attendance is mandatory and there is TONS of homework. It is possible to do well though, I got an A! She does a tiny bit of curving.
Mrs. Wood is a very demanding teacher. However, she works very hard to make sure her students do well. Some people mistake her for being rude, however that is just the manner in which she talks so just ignore it and get the help out of her that you need. If you work hard you will get the grade you want. She also posts exam scores the night of.
Mrs. Wood is amazing. I absolutely hated calculus and she made me understand it and even like it a little. The homework prepares you for ALL tests. The final was a piece of cake and felt like another homework assignment. She is nice and wants to help you. Work hard though and attend class. First A I had actually deserved in my college career.
Class is hard, alot of homework, for me it was at least 3 hours a day and sometimes 4 because i dint understand material. if you want to learn, she will be there for you.
Great teacher who assigns WAY too much work. She is a fantastic teacher who really does a great job at explaining math. I hate math and actually understood the stuff in her class. With that said, way too much homework and I fell asleep numerous times throughout her lecture.
She is a great teacher! She might be tough at the beginning but it all pays off at the end! I recommend her for sure!
I had taken calculus the year before this class, and during this class I learned some things about equations I did not know before. The biggest thing to complain about in this class is homework. Online assignments, written work out of textbooks, and worksheets. It was overkill, but her class was very helpful.
Mrs. Wood to me was an above average math teacher, comparatively speaking to the other math teachers in UofA. She got the point across over all her lectures, and she did make sure that people understood the material right. However, she assigns a lot of homework daily, at least 3 hours, and she grades pretty harshly on it.
Mrs Wood is fantastic. She is always willing to help. She is available for office hours at least 3 hours a day, and her lectures are logical and concise. If you have a lot of other time intensive courses, do not take this class with her. But if you plan to continue to Calc 2, she is simply the best.
A lot of homework! I always had to ask for help while doing the homework, but this helped me understand more the material. I am a B student, but because of so much homework I got a 93 on the final.
Good teacher. Lots of homework assigned, but popper help given. Do your homework and you will be fine.
This lady is good, but she often said "please help me" or "tell me why". that's kind of wasting time. if I know why I still need to take this class.
She is a great teacher. Easy to understand her lectures and always willing to help you out even more outside of class. Super helpful Homework load is more on the hefty side, but it helps and compared to some other teachers, it's pretty good. And compared to other math teachers, she is amazing She actually teaches and makes progress unlike some...
She gives way too much hw, and as said before you actually do need math to be one of your strengths in order to do good in this class. Good luck.
Mrs. Wood is great! She is an excellent teacher and is very committed to her students. She is almost always available in office hours and will do what it takes to meet with students. She gives LOTS of homework, circa 3 hours a day, but it's all with a good intention in order to help practice. If you need a calc teacher she is the one for you!
Mrs. Wood is a nice lady but she is a horrible teacher. I have spent over 3 hours of homework every night and still don't learn anything. She is very unclear of the things she teaches and I had to get a lot of tutoring on the side.
Gives crazy amounts of homework. Expects everyone to know the material. She'll say things that I'm sure make sense if you understand what her thinking is but in reality make it more difficult to do the assignment. Must write in sentences to receive full credit for homework.
Had 75 questions for homework one night. ONE NIGHT. All ridiculous finance questions. I agree that this math is practical, but its extremely hard to understand with limited math background, and extra questions don't make it easier. She's rude and condescending sometimes. I'm glad my mother is a math teacher otherwise I wouldn't have passed.
A lot of homework, although doing it makes you understand the material far more. Ms. Wood is an excellent teacher. This is the first time I've actually enjoyed math class.
Hard to follow gives hard exams, more assignment work load than anyone can handle. take another teacher.
She sat down with me for two hours on the last day of class to go over my past exams that I did not do too well on. Go to class, do your homework - yes I know it's a lot. but if I can do it taking 19 credits, you can take the class too. She gives you a lot of practice, but how else are you going to know math?
A difficult course but what Math class isn't? She is there to help if you go out and seek it. Chapter 10 is confusing and she needed to clarify information a lot. A TI 84 or 89 calculator is recommended, it will help a lot. She is a tough grader. Extra credit is always offered. Mini quizzes are given (usually in groups) and she take attendance.
She gives an insane amount of homework. Sometimes I have 55 problems a night. She does offer extra credit which is awesome. The House Project is ridiculously hard and unclear. Seek help if you don't know what to do cause you can easily fail the project. Go to class, she takes attendance. Having this class at 8 am is not a good idea. Always sign in.
Mrs. Wood is a fantastic teacher who really cares about her students. She does give a lot of homework, but it really helps you learn and isn't just busy work. Really knows her stuff and gives detailed feedback on all work. Also she goes out of her way to make herself available outside of class for you. You are lucky if you get her as a teacher.
Mrs. Wood loves math and it shows in her lectures. She went pretty fast in class so I missed some stuff. However, she is passionate about it, which is cool.
Hard class but the professor was very clear and made sure no one was left behind in the criteria.
8am is hard! Starts out hard then it goes into mean, median, and mode then back to hard. There are 5 test and a project or two. If your in the Salt center the tutors are not much help. If you have the choice to take another math i would do so. If you do take this class make sure 2nd semester for a later time.
Mrs. Wood is the best professor I have ever taken. Unfortunately last year I took a year off of math so I struggled with the algebra and trig, but that being said she helped me become even stronger than I was. I hadn't taken calc before this semester and with a lot of work and taking advantage of her office hours its possible and the final is easy.
She also gives pop quizzes. She has amazing lectures and tests are easier than the homework. There is a lot of homework online. This professor is willing to work with you and has opened her schedule so that you can work with here. I wish she was teaching MATH 302A/B. I would def take her again.
Mrs. Wood truly cares about your success in her class. She offers office hours multiple times per week to help you work through the material, and that really helped me in this course. She assigns more homework than other professors, and it can be a bit tedious, but it helps you study for the tests. She also offers extra credit problems regularly.
I am not terrible at math at all and I'm not one to complain about homework but MAN did she give out an outrageous amount of homework. She gives quizzes on Fridays and gives out lots and lots of web assigns. They way that she grades is a bit ridiculous as well. She grades all of your scratch work and if you miss a tiny thing it's -5 each time.
She gives out some extra credit but grades harder than a mf. She gives a lot of homework and worksheets and webassign work. Quizzes are crazy but some can be retaken. Her explanations arent really that clear but its enough to suffice. each blank question on tests are -1 extra point on top of being wrong. scratch work is graded also harshly
She is hands down the best math teacher at UA. She is a pretty tough grader but she wants you to learn. She brought in donuts the last day of class and gave out prizes during the semester. She is a really nice lady. Before an exam on a Monday she had office hours all day the Sunday before -- only teacher Ive had with weekend office hours. THE BEST
I had Mrs. Wood for 122A which is basically a recap of high school algebra. We basically had 3 weeks to go over everything that we had learned over 4 years. She was very clear and helpful. There was a decent amount of homework but it was within reason. She really cared about our college experience. Brought donuts on the last day.
she explained really well and didn't try to make you feel dumb if you had any questions. the class is difficult if you have never taken calculus because i didn't take a real math class since junior year. but, if you have the experience already take her class, she was great at explaining and really wants to help her students.
Pretty much like any math class, lots of info. She gets mad when you leave the class early so try to make your schedule with enough time to commute to each class. You dont need the book, but you need the access code within the book, so its kind of a rip-off. 8am is the only time to take this class, so be ready to wake up early, and have LOTS of hw
Mrs. Wood was one of the best calculus teachers I've ever had. Yes she is known to give lots of homework, but it is only because she knows what it takes to be successful in the course. She's always available in her office so I suggest taking advantage of that for when you have questions. Hands down the best professor in the math department! 10/10
One if the toughest math class I have ever taken. She gives A LOT of homework, but it does prepare you well for the exams. About half of the time she uses pop quizzes as attendance grades so make sure you go to class. It is also helpful if you attend her office hours, and get to know her.
Professor Wood tries hard and cares, but assigns an enormous amount of homework and weights the class grade to depend mostly on your test scores. The lectures are dry and generally unclear, and the majority of the information can be acquiesced from the online help in MyMathLab. The homework load is ridiculous, but manageable with time-management.
I took this last semester. Overall good math professor. She does assign lots of homework, but it correlates with the exams. The textbook wasn't used once, but still needs to be purchased to get the access code. Some days she takes attendance, and other days she doesn't or gives pop quizzes that counts as attendance.
Debra Wood is really great at teaching and cares alot about her student. She always has office hours available. However, her tests a very long (alot of people dont finish), expect 3 hours of homework daily, and quizzes almost every class.
Her teaching style makes concepts more confusing then they have to be. She shows a lot of short cuts but doesnt explain how she getsthere. It was easier to go home and teach myself concepts then going to her lecture. She asks for questions but when you ask one she answers condescendingly and makes you feel bad for asking.
Ms. Wood is a genuinely kind human being, but unfortunately teaches a cruel curriculum. Expect 3-5 hours of homework a night, ranging from worksheets, to textbook problems, to online homework. Cramming 4 years of highschool into a 4 week course is bound to be difficult, but you'll be prepped for the final (and 122B)
One of the most caring teachers I have ever had. She really shows how much she cares. A lot of homework but she is very fair about it. I wish I was in her class again this semester.
Very caring. A little sensitive and takes things too personally sometimes (like people showing up late). Overall really willing to help outside of class.
To be more specific, she is an awful person.
If you're taking math with her, you gotta make sure you aren't taking any other class besides this one. It's ridiculous the amount of homework she gives daily. Hw, worksheets, webassagin, and be prepared to do a quiz pretty much every day. You'll be spending more time learning on how to make the notation rights than actual math cuz she's superpicky
She is the worst. Avoid her at all cost,
If you want to take her class, make sure you have time. Lots of hw, quizzes every day.
This was the absolute worst class I have ever taken. Trying your best and doing 5 hours of homework a night isn't even enough to get an A. It is practically impossible to get a good grade no matter how good of a student you are. Avoid this class at all costs. It is terrible and I hated every second of it.
She's not a bad teacher, her idea of homework and assignments though is just unreasonable. You get at least 4-5 hours of homework a night, that she actually grades for correctness cause your homework average to go down a lot if you didn't understand a question. Expect to have WebAssign, Textbook, and a few worksheets to do every night.
She gives a ridiculous amount of homework every day. If you have her as your instructor, expect all your time to be dedicated to this class. If you miss a class, you can't turn in any of the homework that was due. She didn't even accept homework that was late due to medical reasons (i.e. being in the hospital).
After taking precalc twice in high school, I thought that this class would make sense. She jumps around topics and introduces new things in ways that makes it impossible to tell what she's talking about. Two webassigns per night as well as worksheets and written problems every night. I feel like I know less than I did before this class. dont take.
She is hard and says she is available in office hours, but will judge you if you don't understand the topic. Be ready to do 4 hours of homework almost every night and then be graded on the correctness. Not an easy grader. The only people who are passing are those who have taken AP calc in high school or are good at math. Not nice or an easy class.
Personally Math 105 is a super easy math class content-wise, but the class itself is a little demanding. There are a homework assignment every class that have a lot of questions. The quizzes are all in-class partner quizzes. If you take notes the class is super easy. I don't really enjoy the vibes she gives off, but it's not terrible.
Mixed feelings about her. Pros: she is very helpful during office hours if youre struggling with concepts. Cons: she goes through information ridiculously fast during lectures, I struggle to keep up. Also assigns a crap ton of homework. Overall Shes a nice enough person, but has an impatient streak and sometimes snaps at students w/o good reason.
Worst professor Ive ever had. Incoherent and chaotic teaching structure. I would go into more detail but thinking about all the problems with her would just give me an an aneurysm. Don't take her class.
Summarizing how awful Prof. Wood is in just 350 words is impossible. I took her class last Fall and hated every second of it. However, her endless spelling and pronunciation errors made for some good entertainment. Nevertheless, she assigned an un-godly amount of homework on top of her already poor teaching style. Good luck, cause you'll need it.
Professor Wood gets a bad rep because kids don't like math. I've had her twice. She CARES about you and your success. If this is your last math class, don't take her class. If you have future math classes to take, no one will set you up for success like her. She will improve all of skills as a mathematician. She's a tough grader because she cares.
She is the best math professor. She is very caring, encourages everyone to work hard, and helps everyone reach their goals.
Ms. Wood is impossible. You can get the wrong answer, but if it's not written in the way she wants it, you won't get points. Expect 5 hours of online, worksheets, and textbook homework daily. And don't forget NOTATION, NOTATION, NOTATION. Office hours are widely available, but passing the class is near impossible (as a 3.6 GPA STEM student).
Prof. Wood is a very good professor! She genuinely cares about her students and goes out of her way (bringing objects from home) to help students visualize the problem. There is honestly quite a bit of homework but she gives everyone multiple days to complete it. Go to office hours! One of the best math professors I have ever had!
Absolute the worst math teacher Ive had at UA. If you are excellent at math than go for it. But if you like having instructors explain concepts to you in a well thought out and simple way, please choose anyone else. Very tough grader where you will lose all points if it is not in the exact way she wants it.
I'm ain't gonna lie, i am definitely no naturally smart genius, but I work my tail off at school. No matter how hard I worked for this class, I failed it. And I have taken pre-calc before so I thought my prior experience would help. Her teaching style is so open ended she is impossible to follow. probably spent around 5 hrs per day on math. RUN!
She was my first professor in my college career and she really set my path to pursue engineering. She made a big deal about notation which instilled good habits that allowed me to succeed in future classes. She was willing to stay and help me outside of office hours constantly. She cares about her students and has a passion for teaching. Amazing.
This was the most pointless class I have ever taken. I was under the impression that I was signing up for a calculus class but in reality, it's a 3-week precalc review class. A textbook and instructional videos are provided but they are completely useless. Good luck in this joke of a class and especially in 122B. You're gonna need it.
Don't pick her, this class is made for nerds. i am good at math, but belive me this is impssible
If I could give her a 0 I would. She assigns 40 WebAssign questions, a double-sided worksheet, and 15 textbook homework questions every night. There is always homework on the night after an exam. I took calculus for dual credit in high school and got an A but still struggled in this course. Stay away at all costs. Take Lazarus instead
Over all I would never dream about taking any one of her classes ever again. She is a strict believer in examples don't help people so don't expect much help there. If you don't understand a topic she will definitely make you feel small for it. Her teaching is absolutely awful running through material so fast you don't know what to do. She is rude.
Professor Wood is a very strict and intense teacher. I definitely learned calculus but her homework expectations are very unreasonable for a full time student, pushing 2 hours a night at least. It is very helpful to already have background calc knowledge. Def not an easy A, but can be done of you attend her office hours and REALLY pay attention.
She is a terrible professor. She will be little you for the smallest mistakes in your work, if it isn't perfect then you are dumb and will lose so many points. She openly calls students dumb in class and snaps at students for no reason. Don't even get me started on the amount of homework she assigns. You will spend like 5 hours each night.
Awful, avoid this class would rather watch grass grow because I'd learn more from that than I did in this class.
This class basically aged me 15 years and gave me an ulcer -Assigns at least 2 hours of homework per night, much more than other professors -Finds the smallest mistakes in your work and if it is not written out exactly how she wants it, it is WRONG -The tests are difficult and require you to know a ton -Pop quizzes! Like 3 times a week! Don't do it
I don't think Dr. Wood is bad at teaching Calculus. I'm learning a lot, but her workload is insane. You're lucky if you don't have several assignments due every single day. She also despises the use of tutors or any outside source, and frequently makes an example of her students. Avoid, especially if you have unhealthy responses to acute stress.
Debra Wood made me hate calculus almost as much as I hated her. She assigns multi-page worksheets, textbook problems, and online assignments daily, taking about 5 hrs. Class attendance is required, and if you have to miss for whatever reason, you aren't able to make up your missed homework & surprise quizzes. Seriously, find a different professor.
Don't. I swapped out after 2 days.
The worst math teacher I have ever had, lectures loudly, assigns too much homework, explains content poorly, seems to dislike students asking questions, feels unapproachable for office hours.
The reviews aren't as bad as it actually is. If you aren't great at math avoid taking the class as she gets more snappy the longer you take to understand. The homework was manageable and no more than 2 hours a week if you understand the content. My final note will be to not steer clear but also don't expect it to be easy.
Mrs Wood is a great math teacher!. She was very clear on what was expected in class. Some people hate that she gives 3 quizes a week but it only made you better at math. Come to class and you do good. She makes herself easy to get help in office hours. She also bring in treats for us sometimes! She was my favorite teacher this year!
I see a lot of bad reviews but she was a great teacher actually. She knew her stuff well and was rly good at explaining and cared abt whether you understood the concept or not. There's only a ton of homework because precalc is horrible and the teacher has to speedrun like 20 different topics in a single semester.
She's a nice person outside of class, and she knows the topics very well. However, she assigns a lot of homework, on avg 2-3 assignments a night taking 2 hours or more, and multiple quizzes per week. If you miss an assignment, you fail with no chance to makeup. She also grades quite harshly, so you must have your answer exactly how she wants it.
Says there is not a quiz on the Friday before break... assigns a group quiz. Guy came 2 mins late to class during one of her pop quizzes, she told him he could take it at the end of class, withheld 1 of the questions she "erased" after the beginning of class so he couldn't score well. Doesn't enter most grades until after W deadline so u can't drop
Gives multiple homework assignments every night that usually takes a couple hours. Gives a pop quiz pretty much every other day. Also she is a harsh grader and does not allow makeup for homework or quizzes. Not to mention she can get snappy if you ask a question and you don't understand it right away. Avoid this instructor at all cost.
Taking this class was the worst descion I've ever made. The professor feels unapproachable and rude with insane expectations. I took this her while being a full time student and working 2 jobs. I barely had time to do my other classwork because she would assign 2-3 hours of work daily and I often had to neglect work from this class to do others.
There are 3 exams, and a quiz almost every single day. The exams follow almost exactly as the notes and the quizzes. She does a very good job in teaching the material, she knows everything about what she is teaching, and she guides those in need of guidance. Homework is something that will definitely consume lots of your time.
She gives a lot of homework and honestly the only time I learned anything was in office hours. Class is fast and we regularly will begin a pop quiz with less than 3 minutes left of class. She's a little scary at first but she is overall nice.
Professor Wood's class is intense, with daily assignments that take hours. Attendance is mandatory, and missed work can't be made up. While challenging, the material is taught well. Using Unstuck ai and staying on top of the workload helped me succeed.
She was just a bad teacher, I always had to use the textbook or office hours to actually learn. She has homework due every night usually multiple and quizzes every day in class. She's also old, this makes class hard because she won't do the math right or will switch her terms around and it's very frustrating when the classes move so quickly.
This was an online class. It took so much of my time, HW pretty much every night (including weekends) there are quizzes almost every week, and a final at the end of the 7-week period. They respond fast but the feedback is not very helpful.
This prof spams homework and does almost daily 5-10 minute quizzes at the beginning of class which cannot be made up if you have to miss class no matter what. She grades written homework so harshly it's unreal. EX: she took points off bc I didn't put equal signs in my work when expanding a problem when my final answer is correct.
I loved this teacher. She was always so sweet. The test weren't that hard in my opinion and were always easier than the study guide. The quizzes tended to be group quizzes so it was easy to get an A on them. She also drops a lot of bad homework and quiz grades at the end of the semester.
