I have had coach Dede Bodnar for two of my classes, hiking and now health 101. She gives very clear instructions and it's very easy to follow. She is always there to answer questions as quickly as you can. I recommend taking this class!
I loved taking Professor's Bodnar class. She is very quick to respond back with any questions you may have. She also gives great feedback and helps you understand the class better.

Coach Bodnar is one of my favorites! She is very understanding, the class I took was about a month long so it was very fast paced but Coach B was so encouraging and helpful with whatever we needed. Would definitely take this class again!

Professor Bodnar has been one of my favorite professors I have had so far. She is very quick to respond to emails, and makes taking a stressful one month course more tolerable. I would take more classes from her in the future if I can. A very positive, caring and helpful professor.

Coach Bodnar is really caring, responsive, will encourage you to turn in assignments on time and is flexible with deadlines if needed. If you choose to take this class for a month, make sure you manage your time well since it is fast paced and will be a lot of reading. Otherwise, it's manageable and not difficult.

This was my first time taking a health class with Coach Bodnar and she is the best!! All the hw is due online, textbook is online, everything you need is there for you!! Class discussions are easy and fun! She keeps you updated with class announcements and is always available if you have any questions. I would take her again!

This professor is one of the best I have had at City College. She is always on the lookout for her students, and she always responds very quickly to your questions. she is an excellent professor.
In this class, I loved the availability of the schedule and especially the professor's availability. There was nothing that I did not like; the professor was very organized and very clear with her assignments. If there is something that I did not like, the discussion had more points than the assignment. But she is an excellent professor.

The professor communicated a lot with me and was fair with grading. The amount of work given to us was just the right amount and I think she did great on giving us chances to fix our grades if something was not done right.

Lots of assignments
This class is a great PE class that is online and tracked with a fitness app. There are no specific required hikes or meeting times. Walk where you want (including urban areas) when you want as long as you meet the theme and hours for the week. Be Prepared for 6 hours of move time a week by the end of the class.
I love this class, I appreciate how the teacher gives us feedback after completing our assignments and provides us with sources to study when there are quizzes, we need to take. To be honest, there wasn't a thing I didn't like about this class, it was well explained what we had to do every week. I learned how to be healthy again.
It's a good course, but not just an "easy" PE class. There is some work to do as well as tests. Professor Bodnar gives great feedback and genuinely seems interested in the walking journals required.
I had this awesome class with Coach Bodnar.I recommend this class to other students. Book was helpful.We had a lot of assignments per week because of took 4 weeks class. She is very nice and kind, she allows you to re-edit your homework and she helps you to find your mistake and try to resubmit it over and over again, she gives you a lot of chances. She is very understanding.
Professor Bodnar is a great teacher. Even as an online class she has set up her lessons to allow you to self-learn a lot. She gives great feedback and gives you the opportunity to earn more credit for your submitted assignments.Easy A if you put forth the proper effort and participation. The test questions can be frustrating but I recommend studying using quizlet to get a better understanding. Read 150-200 pages per week with 45 question test. Assignments are simple if you follow instructions, but read carefully. She is very lenient with timelines and wants you to succeed. Resubmissions for full credit allowed. Overall good class.

Coach Bodnar was a great professor and I learned a lot these past 8 weeks in this class. There were 2 assignments due each week, a test and sometimes a discussion post. The class is very organized and I like how she reviews each submission and comments effective feedback. I highly recommend to take Coach Bodnar for Kinesiology!

Coach Bodnar is an awesome teacher. I've met very few teachers who actually take the time to go through each and student's discussions, assignments, and other submissions making personal comments one each one to help the student learn and achieve more. I would highly recommend Coach Bodnar's classes!
The professor is very flexible to answer questions, even though the class can feel fast-paced which it is, the online material is very helpful to learn. Be organized and on top of due dates as well as the modules, there is plenty to complete and they all count as credit. Overall very dynamic and genuine professor, great discussions posts and topics
After taking this class, I really think that Professor Bodnar's teaching style really relies on information from the textbook that we were assigned, as well as from some different videos that were put into some of the units. Overall, this is a great class to take if you need a quick three units and are interested in learning about kinesiology.

Professor Bodnar is a great teacher. I found the assignments to be very self-gratifying. What other class can you take that grades you on living healthier and hiking/walking all over San Diego. I Love this class and so will you.

The professor was a really nice and open, she was so flexible. You have the whole week to do you weekly write up for 30 points (easy 30 points). The test weren't hard but make sure to read all the articles that are related to the test. She allows you to use the articles while taking the test. But overall she was the best coach!! REALLY RECOMMEND!

I enjoyed taking this class and I would definitely take it again or have the same processor for future classes. I liked watching the videos and doing the workouts. Next time I would like to take it in person so It could be more fun.I definetly feel that I have learned more knowledgeable information about excercising after I took this class .
I really like the class because it motivates me to get healthy and make better and healthy choices. I would have preferred a face to face setting but I learned a lot despite online learning. I hope we have access to a better student connection so we can share our health journey. Overall, I learned a lot and the coach responds timely to emails.

Coach Dede is the best she is so helpful to her students and just wants to see them be active. I have never felt so close to an online teacher before, and I say that in the way she writes honest and encouraging feedback on all of your assignments. She also is very flexible and is great about responding to emails regarding the course work.
Coach Bodnar seems very caring and was really open in regards to grade discussion, and lenient with some of the course work. I can really tell that all she truly cares about is your personal journey to fitness and she'd be encouraging however you chose to reach it, within reason. I took her twice in the same semester!
I like most how she encourages us after sending in assignments and checks in. I like least how it was hard to balance logs with work and other classes. It's doable but make sure to schedule ahead of time. I would want more discussions to get tips and ideas from other people in class. I feel like I learned a lot in a short time. I did enjoy class.
Coach Bodnar will give you everything you need to pass her class, she will give you study materials for the exams and she will give you enough time to finish all the homework.
This was my 2nd class with Coach Bodnar! I really like how interactive it was. My first class was just logging but coach bodnar really fleshes it out! I just wish I'd known I'd have her because it was a lot to keep up with the log with my busy schedule! So don't take it if you have a lot on your plate! I wouldn't change anythign however.

Homework and tests are not too difficult. Plus, the professors remind you of all your assignments so you won't forget anything. The online class was convenient for me, and I appreciated that all assignments could be accessed at any time.
She was very kind and helpful. Gave us updates on every assignment, and gave us homework that was easy to complete through the week.

This class is easy to navigate and the Professor Bodnar gives good feedback and updates to remind when assignments are due. I took a four-week class so there is a lot of reading and coursework but as long as you keep up, this class will be easy to adjust to. I learned a lot about health and enjoyed this class.

4 weeks class, lots homework all done on mylab. 6 exams with around 50 plus questions. Professor will answer emails quickly and the sillabus was clear, which is very nice when you are taking many classes.

This class is mostly participation so if you like a hands on experience this is the class for you. It was only one unite exercise class, but was like a 9 unites full time class for us. so many homework a lot of quiz from the reading the websites. it was the worse class since I started in City collage. I definitely recommend students to not take this class with this professor. I got to many stress and desperation from this class.

Professor Bodnar is my teacher for this course. She summarizes everything in his syllabus and grading is easily explained. This class is mostly corporate, and it's a good class for exercise so if you like hands-on experience, this is the class for you. She is very considerate and helps students with any questions.

I hadn't experienced such a personal touch in other fully-online classes. The mandatory purchase of Mastering Health was my least favorite part of the course.

It also puts my confidence to the test and suggests a very effective form of learning and study methods.
I would definitely recommend taking this course. There is a lot of work each week since it is short week course but they are very easy assignments. This professor is very considerate over her students which really makes taking this course a whole lot better.

This professor's canvas sight could be a lot clearer. The intention behind the class was met, I definitely got out there and really pushed myself and learned to love to get cardio done in a lot of different places. Not a bad class just needs to work on making the instructions easier to read and understand on the canvas site. Nice Professor though.

Its all online and really, its at your own pace so its not that hard to do the work so if you fail this class its on you for not doing the work. Def would take her again!!
Great Professor! For an accelerated online class there was ample time to complete assignments; the downside was the online textbook. Paying $80 for the textbook and assignments motivated me to complete all assignments during the free trial. This was not easy but possible. I learned lots and was motivated to make healthier choices. 100% recommend

Coach Bodnar is an excellent Professor. Everything you need is clearly stated in the Syllabus, and given prior to beginning the semester. Coach Bodnar is a great communicator, approachable, and extremely eager to help you succeed. This was a awesome class I loved how much I learned and how the discussions help learn about my classmates as well even though it was an online course with the discussions and introductions we did I got to know my classmates! What I liked least was the trouble I had to get the acess code

Professor Bodnar was one of the first professors to have great communication via email, was very understanding and gives extra credit. The Pearson my lab and mastering is where most of the work is done and is a very simple website to maneuver, as long as you stay on time with the assignments due dates you will pass this class with ease.
What I liked the most about this class was that even though it was online, Coach Bodnar always was in touch with everyone and the work was straight forward to the point not complex at all. This course helped me get into my fitness goal more serious and I'm planning on keep this routine of doing exercise every week.

Dede is very enthusiastic and encouraging. The class was a fair amount of work (weekly exercise logs that go up to 6 hours a week with new challenges/focuses each week, etc) but the professor always notes the changes clearly beforehand so you will not be surprised. I really enjoyed this class and found the assignments incredibly motivating.
What I liked about this class was how easy it was, the class didn't have a lot of tests and was mainly based on weekly workout logs that you had to participate in and some other assignments here and there. The assignments can get tedious but other than that it was an easy class to take and will for sure make you more active.

This was an online course that was easy to navigate everything was very straightforward. The professor was great and easy to work out with and if you need anything they are on top of it. I learned a lot about the importance of working out and keeping health and I think this course really helped be get started with the heath life journey.
What I enjoyed most about the class is that it was fairly easy work however the workout logs were a lot because you had to workout for all these hours. However, it does make up for the credit that would be used for regular classwork assignments.

Honestly, I am enjoying this class and learning a lot! My favorite thing about this class is using Pearson for all my work. It's easy to navigate. On the other hand, It was very hard for me to find the access code. The only thing I would change is the accessibility. This class is not hard! Dede is great to work with and responds immediately.
What appealed to me in this course was its simplicity. There wasn't an abundance of exams; instead, the focus was primarily on engaging in weekly workout logs and sporadic assignments. Coach Bodnar is super inspiring and motivating. It is an easy class to pass as long as you make an effort. I will say it does feel like a lot of exercising at times, but just some cardio for your weekly logs will do, which is most of the class anyways, with the exception of a few tests/assignments.
Coach Bodnar executed this online exercise course amazingly! Everything was straightforward. It's not jam packed with homework, there aren't a lot of tests/exams and they're open-note for the most part! Just have to keep up with the few assignments and weekly workout logs. I learned a lot and it definitely helped me begin living a healthier life!
Professor Dede Bodnar is excellent !! I took an accelerated class with her, obviously there was more assignments to do but they were very clear and if you have any question she is always there to answer the messages, no matter the time. I'll definitely take a class with her again in the future.
Coach Bodnar teaches one of the easiest-to-follow courses. As a fully online class, you get control week after week when you want to get things done according to your own schedule. She has great feedback and will be there to support you. I would heavily recommend this class, you are almost guaranteed to pass as long as you can put in some effort.

Coach Bodnar's class allowed me to be able learn more about my kinesiology major. Since the class was online, the work was very flexible and allowed me to be able to work at my own pace. Tliked how the class was set up the instructions and criteria was very easy to follow. In the beginning of the class the due dates were scattered,but the professor resolved the issue immediately.i wouldnt change anything about this class, the professor was amazing.Yes definitely did. I loved how this class had me feeling better physically and mentally. I didn't like having to submit a picture every time I worked out because sometimes i'd forget. But I wouldn't change anything about the class. I learned about stretching and how it affects muscle soreness and prevents injuries. I loved this professor she's the best, super caring.
I took a fast track class with coach Dede and I loved that it was a very "straight to the point" class while still not feeling stressful. Only thing I didn't like was that I didn't really get a chance to spend much time to really soak in the info before moving on to the next thing, but even that is very little of a dislike! Very communicative prof and helpful when needed. The only minor dislike I had about the course was the dropbox on one of the assignments was text only instead of the option to submit a document. Coach Dede Bodnar is a super nice, super helpful, super understanding professor, HEAL 101 was a very fun class to take and you definitely learn a lot.
She is outstanding but gives lots of assignments. We are taking other classes, so she should lower the number of assignments.
Prof. Bodnar was very helpful with her extra credit opportunities and allowed us to improve our grades many times in this course. The only confusing thing was the grading; my assignments wouldn't have full points but once I messaged her about it she would fix it. If you see something off with your grade and know you did the work, message the prof.

I did not do good in this class cause I did not try as much as I could and had other things going outside of school and she was so understanding and if I missed an assignment or was late she always asked if everything was okay or if I needed any help. Coach Bodnar is one of the most caring professors I've had in my college experience. She's so helpful & really wants to see her students do well. You'll need to set aside a certain amount of hours a week to exercise in order to pass this class which is the only thing that may be challenging with a busy schedule but it is doable!
Coach Bodnar is a great teacher, she always gives feedback positive feedback. I loved the articles she provides; they are very useful when taking tests (open notes). All assignments are clear, but it can be a lot of work/ exercise hours a week as the semester goes. Assignments are still doable if you plan out accordingly and have plenty of time.

My rating and difficulty rating is only because this was a 1 month course and I work full time. This course is pretty easy but you need a good amount of studying. There are quizzes about every 3 days and the readings can take hours but are very informative and interesting. The professor was great, always replied and graded fairly.
Health101 was a tough class for me personally and you are pretty much on your own. Professor Bodnar definitely wants all her students to succeed she offers extra credit and is very understanding about needing extensions sometimes. Overall good course and would recommned to take heakth with Professor Bodnar if needing the credit!

I took this in a 4-week course; I'd say the workload is manageable with good time management. Assignments are due about 3 times a week covering 2-3 chapters per set. Extra credit is offered too, and she drops your lowest test score which is nice. Clear grading and syllabus. Coach Bodnar is very passionate and is encouraging and accommodating!

It takes a lot of time out of the week (I'm in the condensed class). We're up to 5 hours a week for the exercise alone, which is challenging enough for me and my schedule is pretty flexible.

I did enjoy the Health 101 course and really enjoyed the discussion board activities. It was confusing at first on how to complete the discussion boards but I think it was my own doing of rushing through the assignment details. I do think that the platform Pearson needs to be retired since it in constantly throwing misleading questions at students.

Material was all online and was very easy to comprehend, most of the work was straight foward and to the point. Online tests took longer than I expexcted and were at times incomprenhensible but the Professor gave us grace and graded us with equity in mind.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class! The exercises were engaging, and the content was presented in a way that made it easy to understand and apply. The professor was very approachable and created a positive learning environment. I appreciated how she made the material interesting and kept us engaged throughout.
The instructor has everything laid out from the beginning, if you take the online course certain assignments won't be unlocked until you progress some days into the course, so if you want to get ahead it could pose difficult to do so. She is very helpful if you need some assistance and what's very awesome is that there are no essays.
I liked that the material was clear, and the study models helped with the tests. Managing the workload in 4 weeks while working full-time was overwhelming, and the tests felt longer due to some unclear questions. I'd simplify the tests and improve communication. I learned more than expected, but I wouldn't take on that pressure/workload again.
Throughout the whole course she was helpful and answered any questions asked. The work was not difficult, all that was required was to be on top of your workout durations and complete the little assignments for the week.

If you're not ready for all of the work crammed into one month, you might want to rethink this class. The multiple tests are confusing, and good luck with getting a response via email or anything else. The other comments are bias for "extra credit", so you won't see the real picture from the faking. 1. Doesn't go overboard with the assignments, grades/responds quick. 2.For tests you can't jump through questions must complete each before moving on and can't go back to fix them. 3. I would change how the tests are made 4. Mainly learned the types of stretches 5. I enjoyed this class and recommend it for those wanting to improve their habits
Professor Bodnar was amazing, I loved how she was very understanding and always helped to get me back on track. I would definitely take this class again.
Class was quite easy and the professor is willing to make exceptions for certain assignments and will give extra time if requested.
Professor Bodnar was kind, helpful, and always available. The class was clear and easy to follow, if you put in the time, you'll do well. It was practical and connected to real life. It's a good, fast-paced class. It reinforced what I knew and added new knowledge. It's simple, manageable, and a positive experience.
Very caring professor who genuinely looks out for her students. I really enjoyed this class and learned so much from it. The tests can be a bit tricky, so make sure to read the articles carefully to do well. I definitely feel that I've improved my fitness and overall health because of this class!
Coach Bodnar is great! She motivates you, gives you reminders and understands that the course can be a lot at once. Her communication is on point as well. The class can be difficult if you fall behind as there is lots of reading and testing but if you are consistent, you will be set up for success! You got this. Thanks Coach Bodnar!!!
The class is great, really straightforward and easy to follow, constant reminders for the work, can be a lot of work but is easy to get through all of the work. Personally, most of the work and assignments were on things I already knew but anyone can succeed in this class and enjoy the class overall.

This was my first semester taking an online class post-Covid and Professor Bodnar made it feel like a breeze. She's extremely understanding and willing to work with you. She cares deeply for her students and doesn't overload with work. As long as you dedicate time to exercise and participate in online discussions you will pass. Highly recommend.

Really straightforward class, the professor gives you a lot of reminders when work is due. If you need help with anything or don't understand something, the professor is easy to get ahold of. The assignments are all manageable as long as you stay on top of your stuff. If you do every assignment, then it's an easy A.
Very fair grader, flexible when needed, and explains expectations clearly. Not a hard class at all, and the professor is genuinely kind.
She was a great professor, the assignments were always directly related to the course, and if there was an issue with something she was quick to get on it. At one point I fell a little behind in the course and emailed her, she promptly replied back giving me a chance to make up the work.
The homework/modules were well organized. She gave ample time to complete each assignment. She also stayed on top of students. She would send reminders when assignments were coming up, especially if we had a lot of assignments that she saw we hadn't completed. Even though it was an online class, she was still personable and showed that she cared.

I rated the professor 5/5. She is extremely responsive, always helpful, and quick to reply to emails. She regularly reminds about important tasks and deadlines. I learned a lot about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and truly enjoyed the class. It was well structured and very supportive.
Good professor
I enjoyed her class very much I took it in the second half of the semester and it was a very calm and easy to get work done class even with the half semester. And she gives extra credit!!!!! 10/10 would take again. She gives good feedback and even drops a test and at the end of the year she will send you your grades and give encouraging feedback.
Professor Bodnar is a very kind and genuinely teacher invested in her students success both academically and mentally. And is consistently sending reminder emails to help keep students on track. The course load is very manageable, and clear making the material easy to follow and stay organized throughout the semester.
