She is extremely cooperative and very easy to understand,if you get stuck in any topic she describes again and again without getting impatient.
I would not have been able to do what I did without Prof. Gupta's guidance. I really appreciate her kindness and her passion for teaching. Given the opportunity, I would take any class I needed that she is teaching.
I would just say: DO NOT MISS HER LECTURES, LECTURES ARE EXTREMELY HELPFUL. SHE EXPLAINS THINGS IN VERY INTERESTING WAY.
Okay so here is the deal with her, she is hard to understand with her accent, she is also hard to work with because of the culture barrier and it may SEEM that she can't teach. BUT SHE HELPS OUT ALOT, if your class does bad she gives nonstop extra credit! I liked her
Awesome teacher; she's funny and like-able. Chemistry is not easy for a lot of people, so it's not a class that you can get a good grade in without studying. If you fail this class, it's your own fault. Ms. Gupta was great!
As the person before me stated, if you do not pass it is pretty much all your fault, she is very helpful and loves to teach this subject
Ms.Gupta is a good teacher. As with any college class, you have to study. You get out of it, what you put into it. I like her. Her class is the foundation for CHM 2, so you need to be able to grasp the content. She will explain until you understand it! You also have to study the practice tests to be successful.
She is a really good teacher, and provided A LOT of extra credit. You do have to study on your own and I recommend that you read ahead of time. It is a hard class but she explains it as best as she can.
She is difficult to understand. When students ask her to help them with a question, she tells them to go onto the OWL site and figure it out themselves. She is very smart but just can't teach very well.I do not recommend her at all.
Dr.Gupta is brilliant. Her lectures are smart and funny, and my chemistry really improved with her help. I loved this class.
Prof. Gupta has her unique style of teaching. She makes the learning enjoyable and fun. I will never ever forget the magnetic field .com. If she is teaching organic chemistry, I would love to have her again.
I recommend you take chemistry from a different professor, especially if you want to pass. She does not answer questions and talks over her students when they get the opportunity to actually ask a question. Her tests are ridiculously hard and she does not review the test, so you have no idea where you went wrong. Do not take her class.
Tests are similar to practice tests. Most of the students got above 80 except those who were busy with their phone during the lecture. Prof. reviews the tests if you make an appointment with her. She stayed in the class even after the lecture and gives lots of chances to earn extra point and even drops the lowest grade. She is intelligent.
I like her, she is extremely helpful and understand the problem of her students. I missed 2-3 lectures and when I asked her to help she stayed in the class after the lecture for 2 hours and covered all the concepts I missed. She gave us numerous extension for quizzes and assignments and many chances to earn extra points.
Very nice lady, I will admit, she does teach pretty fast. I'm assuming she had to do that because there was a lot to cover. Overall, shes pretty fair but her teaching could improve. Not many of the students couldn't really understand her. Test were hard but homework is easy , you pretty much have to study and work hard.
really easy if you study
Very sweet, always willing to answer your questions. She is hard to understand but if you go to her after class or before she's more than willing to help you. She offers extra credit and wants you to pass. You just need to study and stress to her that you're struggling and need help. Tests are multiple choice. I enjoyed her, chemistry is just hard.
Sweetest teacher I ever had. Tells stories, always encourage, gives lots of extra credits, post study guide and practice questions. So caring for students and always smiles . This kind of teacher you need for introductory chemistry.
I've had this professor 3 semesters total. After failing CHM 151 with another professor, I retook it with professor Gupti and did very well. I knew I had to try to have her again for CHM152 and 252. Each time her lectures were long, but very informative. SO DONT MISS A CLASS. Also, she really cares about her students.
Dr. Gupta is the greatest professor I have ever had. She is clear in all concepts and theories and if you don't understand, she does her best to give you different examples that can help you understand. She is a caring and thoughtful individual who is willing to work with you so that you can pass.
Best professor I have ever seen and very helpful. I was only taking lab with her but she allowed me to attend her lectures as well and provided a power points, study guides, videos, notes to entire class. Very fast in posting the grades and replying the emails. I wish she get to teach CHM 152.
with an overall refusal to curve tests and quizzes, i had barely passed her course. she seemed to have difficulty teaching certian topics and failed to properly teach a few topics to the point where they could not be understood properly. it is a very hard class to begin with, but she only makes the course harder than it needs to be.
Pros and Cons. Pros: Extra credit opportunities, Offers study sessions prior to tests, drops a low grade on one test, homework, and quiz Cons: Her lectures are fast, she cannot speak clearly, which makes it hard to understand the test and concepts. Her availability outside of class is ridiculous Also attendance is a must.
Would not recommend! Unless you want to be lost the whole semester and fail every test even when you take good notes.
Prof. Gupta is just the best. You will start loving the chemistry with her. Excellent instructor and was super helpful and caring . Always available out side of the class and review the concept , problems etc. Tells stories and encourage students to share their experience . Never felt that the 3 hours long lectures were boring with her. I like her.
Ask questions, do your lab work, and try not to miss class. With such an amazing instructor as, you shouldn't get less than a B at most.
The lecture is easy to understand but the test is very hard to pass. She's a tough grader has lots of online homework and quizzes, and very few extra credits.
Difficult to understand due to thick accent. Only way to study is practice tests that don't contain the same info as practice tests. Very few grades besides these tests that are very difficult to do well on . Be ready to be self taught.
She is very knowledgeable with CHM151. She wanted everybody to learn and not just pass the class. She goes out of her way to share her passion. She accommodate questions outside classroom and She quickly replies email. She gives feedback, One of the teacher I appreciate because they put hard work in their chosen field.
I loved her from day 2 chemistry is challenging and a good grade doesnt come easy I studied and I made use of her office hourDr. Gupta was a great teacher and I really liked her teaching style she gives you extra credit on test pre-lab quizzes even take home extra credits and conducts optional problem sessions she cares about her students very hel
She is the most caring person I ever met. Quick in replying email and grading. Holds one on one and group tutoring session . Gives real life examples of use of chemistry. She is just the best.
Favorite lab instructor, really helped me in lecture too. Labs were pretty fun. Be prepared when you walk in to show prelab questions and to take pre lab quiz!. (she checks your prelab answers and post lab answers). if you dont understand, she will explain to you. tests were not that hard.
Shes an alright teacher. You get lots of extra credit for the most part. She sometimes ramble off. L
She is just the best, wish she could teach more courses.
She's actually quite nice, don't let the older reviews scare you away. Listen and participate oftenshe will like you. Her lectures are in power point format and can be found on Blackboard. If you need help or have questions she is always available and replies to emails right away. Everything is explained clearly and the class is very interesting.
If you want an A for Chemistry, take her. She might seem strict but she is actually nice, and her extra credits help a lot at the end of the semester. Grades take forever to be included in the overall course grade. She is strict about attendance, being late, and electronics. She has an accent just so you know, but she is great.
Mrs Gupta was very nice and I was thankful for that, she did not often respond to my emails which sucked but that is okay. This is a super hard class and I was dying in it but I barely barely passed with a C and that is good enough for me. If you have experience in chemistry I think you will be okay taking her but if not, like me, you will struggle
She is a very sweet lady and honestly very understanding. The class itself is very easy. The review tests are almost identical to the tests. I did not like how all the tests were online. She drops the lowest test grade and gives extra credit which helps! If you want an easy A without too much strain, she is your go-to professor.
She was really sweet, but not accessible outside of class. She is very knowledgeable, but sometimes i found myself zoning out because she explains everything too thoroughly. if u miss one thing you wont understand the rest. Chemistry in general is just applying concepts to situations, it shouldn't be too hard and Gupta makes it easier to understand
Cant understand her at all. She doesnt care if you fail.
Pretty easy class if you put your effort into it, it is kinda just basic algebra. This goes for most classes and that is don't always rely on just lectures. She goes over some really good examples in lectures and is available for office hours if you really need it.
If you took her for CHM151 and liked her, guess what? In CHM152 you won't. She does not really know much about CHM152 which makes lecture useless. Tests are so different from the practice tests. She gives a ton of assignments for 3% extra credit, but that only applies when you have 75%. Really, I do not recommend her. If you love F's take her.
I would not pay any mind to the past reviews about her class, because if you take her now and online because of COVID, you're setting yourself up for a semester of headaches. The worst teacher I have taken at CPCC. I self-taught this course because she did NOT teach one time. No help at all. Purposely makes the course hard. DO NOT TAKE.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had! I had to teach myself everything from the little material provided to us. She refused to offer assistance when I had questions and is impossible to communicate with, in person and through email. I had to go back to therapy and on my medication because she screwed up my mental health.
I took Dr.D over the summer and she is best instructor I have ever had. She held the web ex meet twice a week and walked me through the steps like some one is teaching a beginner. She is very understandable and always willing to work with your schedule. She connects the every little things to chemistry and I was amazed to see how she remembers all.
honestly dont take this professor if you are trying to get a chem credit. they purposefully make the class difficult & dont give you a chance to better your grade. as well as they barely explain the material. if you are planning on taking this class with this professor get ready to struggle
Dr. Gupta was a really bad teacher except for when it came to office hours. She made herself available before every class period and helped me understand the material a lot more. I couldn't stand going to her class, but if you miss more than 2 you get dropped from class.
She is a best teacher I ever had.
Do not take her for your remote/all online class. She may be great in person, but under no circumstances would I take this class online. For some reason, all of our exams were Friday night at 7 pm and sometimes Saturday despite the class hours not being within that range. Take literally any other professor.
Prof. helped me a lot during the entire semester. She reviewed the test /concept with me even on early Sunday morning and always made herself available as per student's need. She gave many extra credit opportunities and even allowed us to retake one unit test. Lecture were long but interesting. She taught us to see the world differently with chem.
I took chemistry first time in my life with Dr. Gupta and I liked her from the day 1 itself. She knows what she is teaching and how to teach a student who has not taken a chemistry in years.
Prof. Gupta's reviews concerned me, but they couldn't be more wrong. She is a gem! I took Gen Chem 2 with her online w/ an in person lab 1 day per week. The material is what it is, but the online homework and review tests are exactly what's on the test so if you learn that, you will get an A. She is responsive and flexible with due dates if needed.
I like the college side. Cengage was great. But outside of that, Brightspace was disorganized, labs were hard and I did not get the help I was looking for. But the worst was the tests. They were brutal. I.e. final exam, 150 mins, 50 questions, all written answers, no multiple choice. That is practically impossible. All A streak broken.
She was nice but I was concerned because the tests were super hard to do. I did not like the way those were set up.
Dr. Gupta is very caring and understanding. She make sure that she works around your schedule. She gives extensions with out any penalty if you have a genuine reason. She will not only help you out in the homework but also in completing lab report. Tests are exactly similar to the review tests. Do the review test multiple time and you will be set.
Never failed a class in my life before taking this class. We had Cengage homework that rarely corresponded with our exams. Brightspace was very disorganized and it sometimes took days to get a response via email. She also explains things as if we already understand. Do not take this class
Great teacher, always ready too help and make time for you.
I had not passed the class with A grades if Dr. Gupta would not have helped me outside of her class.
Wish I could give a 3.5, but 4 still fits the bill. She is very nice, caring, understanding, and is willing to give help if needed. With that being said, it should be noted she has a HEAVY accent, which is understandable, and she can be a tad bit inconsistent. This is a VERY difficult class.
Dr.Gupta is very knowledgeable and too good at explaining things. Labs are straight forward and recorded lectures are in detail so if you take notes while watching lecture you will pretty much understand the whole topic. Review tests are golden and unit tests have the same questions as in review tests. She even let us use the hint option in tests.
Gupta's the sweetest professor but she has a heavy accent. The way the class is set up is weird. Labs are in person (including lab exams) but everything else is online (unit tests and final). Brightspace is very hard to understand and there is a lot of homework that needs to be completed at night. Overall, shea really nice person but terrible class
Dr. Gupta is very easygoing prof. She will give numerous extension without any penalty if you provide her a valid reason. Class and lab would be easily understandable if you do a little bit reading beforehand. Watch the lecture videos, complete the homework and pre lab questions and then you will be all set for the class. complete extra credit ques
She is very nice and understanding, but when it comes to helping students understand the material, she definitely could have done more. The tests were awful, the homework was ridiculous, and the lectures were way too fast. She taught as if everyone already had a good grasp on the subject, although this was my first ever chemistry class.
This course was the first chem course I had aced in a long time.Dr.G. was very respectful of my accommodations& supported me whenever I needed help or guidance. She gives you everything you need to succeed and genuinely cares.PPT, homework assistance worksheets, recorded lecture tons of extra credit. Tests look just like the practice tests.
Dr. Gupta was amazing! She really cares about everything and will help in any way possible! The lab is so much fun with her! We played games and even winner received the gifts. The assignments are straightforward and tons of extra credits.Tests are straight from practice tests. I would 1000000% take a class with this professor again if I needed to!
Amazing professor for CHM151. She draws everything out on the board, making it easier for visual learners. You are given a good chunk of new material as homework, but she makes it clear on lecture day. The best thing is that she gives out a ton of extra credit- made the class for me.
I failed CHM 152 and retook it with Dr. Gupta. I got 100 on my all unit tests. I met Dr. Gupta in person and virtually and reviewed the review test with her. She made you practice so many times that things would start to seem easy. She genuinely cares and provides many resources to you to succeed. She will do the labs with you and help you out.
This was one of the best Chemistry class. She loves what she teaches! Make sure you review the review tests multiple times, complete your assignments on time and you are golden. She is very nice and cool person. lectures are long and tests are exactly similar to the practice test. She also gives you good feed back if you reach out to her. I likeher
If you would like to pass CHM 152 with good grades, Dr. Gupta will be the best option. She is awesome, caring, lenient and very knowledgeable.
She is helpful and fair and will walk you through the content. I've had two classes with her and I never used the book, and she always gives extra credit. She also drops one lab. Unit tests and final exams are straight off from her review tests.
I just say, she is one of the best professor at CPCC. She shared the tips to solve the problems. Those tips were very helpful for me during final exam. She reviewed the topics multiple time and made me ready for the final exam. She is Gem.
Dr. Gupta is a very caring and easygoing professor. If you ever need to reach out to her, she is just one email away. She is one of the best professors and she provides a lot of extra credit opportunities to help you boost your grades.
Don't take this class if you don't have a basic knowledge of chemistry. I had to take it as my first chemistry class as there were no other alternatives, and it was horrible. I was so lost, and she didn't offer any help! Super nice, though, so that's something.
She is the best. Very helpful and easily accessible out side the class.
I had her for CHM151 and now 152. Her lectures are more confusing this time around, but it's to be expected since the content is a little harder. Still, she gives out a ton of extra credit and offers review sessions outside of class. A great professor.
Dr. Gupta is one of the best chemistry professors at CPCC. Take her and you will not regret it.
I highly recommend her as a chemistry professor. She has a talent for simplifying complicated problems into easy-to-follow steps. Her patience and sense of humor make learning enjoyable. Even when I met her outside of her office hours, she was able to explain concepts in a way that suddenly made everything click.
Dr. Gupta engages the class very well. She uses PPT, worksheets, quizzes based on videos, online games, etc. If she did not think aspects of something we were doing were valuable to our learning then she would not force us to learn. Her lectures and recorded videos were also very helpful
Dr. Gupta is always accessible for queries and concerns. She is friendly, and caring, and has interesting stories to share in class. I will highly recommend her for CHM 151 and 152.
Dr. Gupta's brilliance and care shine through as she ensures that students receive all the help they need. I've even met with her virtually on weekends. Review the tests multiple times, and you'll easily earn an A. Be sure to come prepared for labs.
It was my second time taking the CHM152. I failed the class the first time due to having an inadequate professor for CHM 152. However, this time I passed, thanks to Dr. Gupta, a great teacher and an even better person: super nice and kind.
If you need to pass 152, she's the professor to go to.
Had a great experience with Dr. Gupta. Very understanding, flexible, and really appreciated the pace of the class. I would absolutely take a class she was teaching again - the amount of work that you have really helps to reinforce your understanding of Chem 1.
Dr. G's support made this challenging course manageable. I appreciate her patience and willingness to help with questions and provide extra assistance.
I took both CHM 151 &152 with Dr. Gupta, she truly cares about her students but you need to put in the effort to see that. Go to her office hours, follow instructions for labs, do the homework, and most importantly, attend all her review sessions and review the review tests multiple times, as her tests are based on review tests only. !
Come to class, listen, ask questions, do the Cengage homework. You will pass. I am terrible at chemistry. I still passed with a solid C+.
During lectures, Dr. Gupta often spoke into her hand or the whiteboard, which made it difficult to understand what she was saying. She did not help any by not speaking up during labs, so the class often missed instructions because we never heard them. Unless you are already talented or informed about Chemistry, be wary of this teacher's style.
Awesome professor! She's super clear about what she expects and tells you exactly what you need to do for each assignment. If you follow the directions, you'll be fine. She's really easy to talk to, answers questions fast, and makes the class pretty fun too!
One of the best instructor at CPCC. I failed the course twice with another instructor at CPCC itself and passed with B Dr. Gupta
The course is well organized with lecture videos posted early, clear lab instructions, and tests that follow the review tests. The instructor offers office hours, tutoring, extra credits, and review guides. Students who keep up and use the support do well.
