I am actually surprised by other comments. Prof Tyler was EXTREMELY helpful and very laid back. I loved this class. It was online so you could work at your own pace and it completely changed my perspective to immigration issues. HIGHLY recommended.

as an internet class it was awesome- she gave you just the right amount of work! Very helpful if you email her with questions:)

Great Teacher! Really great assignments that make you think but are extremely easy! Gives you a good grade for doing your best, effort counts.

This is the nicest teacher. She is great to work with and you will learn a lot. I really enjoyed this class.

ONLINE CLASS: really not that challenging, it will take time though. I don't think she even read any of my assignments just gave me full credit as long as I did it.

Great teacher. She really knows her stuff. If you go to class and pay attention, you will do well.

Really nice and funny teacher. She has some funny stories that she shared, but at the same time she really does care about what she is doing. She was a great teacher and she really did give you a good grade based on your effort. I really enjoyed this class and it was an easy A

I took this class online. It was really easy. The book is extremely important for tests, which aren't to hard. A few things need updating, but overall, she is a good teacher.

I took this class online, and thought it was a great class! She is very helpful when she is needed and I really liked the way she set up the online work. You can go at your own pace and its not very hard.

She is a good teacher. Patient and is able to teach the subject non offensively. It is one of the more important classes that it taught. She is not prejudice and the work is extremely reasonable. I would take another class from her again. She knows her subject and she is fun.

Good class, teacher was clear on what she expected. Pretty good about getting back with you about questions. Tests were a little vague and difficult, overall a good teacher.

Online course. Her courses could use some updating, but this is my third course taught by her, and I will take more. I think she is great

Dr. Tyler wasn't really interactive persay in her internet class. She had clearly laid out lesson plans, though sometimes the links didn't work. She did a great job opening class discussions. Only con, her tests are inaccurate ... but she does give those points back

Professor Tyler is really nice, though somewhat unclear on what it is she exactly wants for assignments/tests. Grade is made up of: 3 tests, book report, written articles (summary of a race related issue), pop quiz's, and an expert group(where you head a presentation on a racial problem/demographic). Its fairly easy, if you show up and do the work.

Good teacher, i took her online Soc2630 Race and Ethnicity. It was not a hard class, just do what is assigned and you shouldn't have any problems. This is not one of those classes that is overwhelming.

She always answer her email, I took this class online. She was very nice and we had discussions to do, book report, presentation, and 3 test, plus assignments.

I enjoyed this class. It consisted of book report, 3 tests, discussions, assignments, eportfolio. I learned some things I was unsure of. Very good at answering your emails in a timely manner. Helpful all over for me.

Dr. Tyler is great. I've taken both her online class and her lecture class at the redwood campus and I would suggest taking her in person. Her online class was okay, but I'm more of an visual/auditory learner. For lectures, make sure to attend because you won't learn much otherwise. She has some great lectures you'll want to see.

Was extremely understanding of my crazy military schedule. Taking her again next semester.

This class is an easy "A," but a frustrating "A." Dr. Tyler's setup, schedule, syllabus, and grading system are badly out of date, and highly confusing. Exams are all essay, with the final taking place in the testing center...despite the standard time of two hours for finals, she hasn't updated this either, and you only have 90 minutes...BEWARE!

This class was super easy to take, and the exams are not hard at all. She is a little confusing with directions and due dates, but if you ask her to explain it she makes sure she does. The grading was very fair, and she made the class fun

This class was great, and really informative. What I loved is that she understands that the reason we're taking online courses is because we have very busy lives. I'm a single mom, I work full time and go to school. She does not mark off for work turned in late. I HIGHLY recommend her. There are a lot of videos to watch, but so what. I loved her.

Super nice teacher, funny, and very helpful. Accepts late work. there are 3 tests all are essay test questions and she gives u the test questions one month in advance! she makes it so easy to pass the tests. I got a 90 or higher on every test. id recommend this class to everyone

This class was so interesting and so easy. Didn't have much interaction with teacher but was there when I needed her. Perfect format for online classes, especially if you've got a lot of super hard classes stacked up, the way she does it saves all of your grades!!! She was really laid back and allowed late work. Loved what I learned!

I took this class online and it was great! She made everything due at the end of the semester so we could work at our own pace, which helped tremendously because of my busy schedule. She graded our homework fast and fair, and all of our tests were taken at home without having to go to the testing center. I would definitely recommend her!!

I took this class online this year. He was so patient and kind. I was stupid and lazy and I decided 4 weeks before semester end to finally start caring. I was honest with him and he was in return patient with me. He gave me the option to make up all missed assignments including the test.

This class was so easy and the videos she assigned us to watch were very interesting and educational. Thought this was going to be a boring class but ended up being awesome. You can be late on your assignments and she won't dock you points she's very flexible. Overall was an easy class more than one assignment every week but it's not hard work. Fun

I'll admit, there is a lot of busy work in this course. But it was SO EASY. I got almost all points on every assignment, and I barely tried, lol. She responds to messages fast and the first two tests are online and you can take them at home. really not a bad class at all.

I just have to say to those complaining about the work.. THIS IS COLLEGE. Don't complain. Plus, this is just our associates. ) Work for it!!

There is a lot of busy work for this class, but it's easy! There is always one writing/research assignment but those are typically easy as well. Not a hard class or professor.

Easy online class! But yes disorganized in Canvas, gives full points for everything and hardly any feedback, you do homework in open stax but overall easy A!

After the first class, I selected electives Deidre was teaching because I enjoyed her insight, perspectives! It is difficult to find educators in Utah not from Utah-who see the world differently. Deidre's life experiences made the learning real & authentic. (Can't comment on the Canvas issue-from my experience teaching HS-the issue is canvas.)

This class was super easy.

Professor Tyler was the best! She genuinely cares about her students and wants you to succeed. She offers several extra credit assignments, does not penalize late work, and extended the final due date until a week after the semester. If you stay up to date on assignments and take notes during lectures, this class will be a breeze!!

pretty easy class ngl. it did seem to have a lot of busy work though but not hard. there is usually a group assignment but everyone kinda talked about being worried about it and she allowed you to do the assignment by yourself. lots of videos you need to watch for a study guide which gets tiring but they're usually short videos. overall good class

I took this class as half of a summer semester so it was VERY short, however I still found it very easy. You can tell that Deidre cares about her students. She had reached out to me several times to ensure I was planning on finishing the material before the semester ended. She responded to me fairly quickly when I would reach out.

amazing woman. i love her accent and it was honestly one of the easiest and most interesting classes ive ever taken

I really adored Deidre Tyler during my time in her class. You can clearly see how passionate she is about her students. I wish I had more time to take another one of her classes. There wasn't too much homework. However, there is in class work you wont be able to make up. As long as you show up to class it will be very easy for you to get an A.
