Great teacher! Really loves her job. Does the same thing every class so you know what to expect. The test gets harder as you go along, but she gives you a 10 pt. curve on every test to acommadate it. Very helpful.

Loves math and you can tell it. Fun teacher, hard class. She drops the lowest test grade and you also have a take home exam.

She will go out of her way to help you understand something. She will always make sure you're prepared for a test with study guides and practice tests. You can tell that she loves to teach.

Dr Holt is very helpful, but it was a hard course for me since i suck at math. She definately took the time to help me prepare for test and make sure i was able to complete all the homework.

Mrs. Holt is a great teacher! She has an open door policy and goes out of her way to make sure that you understand. She does take attendance everyday but she posts homework assignments on Pipeline. Her tests are based on the study guide and if you study them and do your homework, you'll do great! I got an A!

Professor Holt is an excellent teacher!!! Math is one of the subjects that I hate the most but by her taking the time out to explaine things it wasn't as bad as I thought!! So if you're looking for a teacher for this class pick her!!! I got a B

I loved this class! Dr. Holt was AMAZING!I hated math before i started this class but EVERYDAY IS ALWAYS A GREAT DAY FOR DOING MATH!! She drops the lowest grade. She gives u formula sheets, and U HAVE TO USE YOUR CALCULATOR WHICH IS A MUST, and she gives u like 3 different ways to do one problem! U can do it whatever way u want!! A must to take!

She is a blesing. I missed alot of class because I was sick and she understood. Even if I do fail the class this semester because I was out, I will gladly take her next semester. Passionate about her job. She loves math. I am glad I took her.

Professor Holt is a GREAT, NICE AND HELPFUL professor. I hated math before and didnt normally do well in math. Now i believe i might get a "B"! She doesnt make you scared to ask questions, even dumb quetions! But newayz make sure you practice the practice test, the test are just like them.She's passionate and wants you to learn. YOU WONT REGRET IT

Mrs. Holt was great. She went very slow and made sure that no one had any questions. She always gave examples out of the textbook, so make sure you have one. I think everyone should take her. She gives partial credit on tests and usually gives 10 extra points to "clear her conscious!" TAKE HER:)

Mrs. Holt was the best professor i have ever had. i hated math before her class! she was an excellent teacher and she really enjoys teaching. she went through the problems step by step and it was easy to ask questions. she posts practice tests on pipeline. there are no quizzes and no homework so that was a plus. Bottom line she is the BEST math teacher you will EVER have in your entire college career!! She gives study guides to every test, homework is not mandatory (but is really helpful for the test), she drops lowest test score, she breaks down every concept so that you understand it... man shes just awesome!! If you can take her!!

I recommend Prof. Holt for ANYONE looking to take the basic maths. She is EXTREMELY nice and her methods of teaching the material are crystal clear! No way you can make less than a C, unless you don't bother trying. Can get extremely boring, but her enthusiasm for the subject and corny jokes make the class interesting from time to time :).

Its a great day for doing math! Dr.Holt makes you feel so welcome in her classroom. Awesome professor. Took her in Fall 2007 after failing algebra in highschool...went to her office, did the homework, got an A. Gave me a great foundation for chemistry. love this woman!best math teacher ever!! Will change your life. on day one she had us hold a funeral in class for bad attitudes and "math related pain." Such a great professor. She really cares about her students and their success. She is a very clear teacher and makes sure you understand everything. She makes math so easy to understand. She also gives lots of ways to prepare for tests and you always know what to expect on her tests. Awesome professor, I HIGHLY recommend her!

It's great that the class is online but her notes are of only the easy introductory type problems. You have to figure out the hard ones o your own on youtube videos. She is great though. She does WebEx's and will even be available if you need to call her on the phone. Super nice. Stay on top of work. It's easy to get behind. There's a lot of it!

Great teacher but make sure to do well on the final. It counts for 60% of your grade. I was making a high B in her class but made a 50 on final and ended up with a D in her class. First time I ever have to retake a class. Sucks bad!

She is a sweet teacher. The online notes are over only simple problems so if you're going to take it online take advantage of the math lab. I didn't and wished I did. The final counts for over half your grade. I had a B in the class but failed the final. You can pass but stay on top of work because there is a lot of it.

Great teacher. She's very sweet and wants to make sure everyone is following along. Her lecture classes can get boring since she tends to go slow so everyone can follow. Homework is all online and she'll have 5 or 6 assignments all due within a month so don't procrastinate. She puts practice quizzes up that are EXACTLY like the test. very helpful.

Good math teacher. Doesn't provide feedback on tests or show you what you did wrong on incorrect answers, but if you ask for help, she is more than willing to provide it. She's very good at teaching math and has a great sense of humor. Expect a test every other week, though.

I took Professor Holt's online class. First off her notes that she gives you don't help. They are for simple problems. As someone said the final counts for 60% of your grade online. I was making a B in the class but sadly I believe I failed the final which means I failed the class. I'm devastated. Please use math lab to prepare you for finals.

She is not a great teacher but also an amazing person. Very sweet lady always telling jokes and made sure everyones voice was heard , also took our opinions and suggestions seriously. ives study guides that are exactly like the test except there will be different questions . You have to be a bum not to pass ;D

Easy class. Took online but she will work out the problem and show you how to do it as well as explain how to do it. She is a great teacher. Just get stuff done by deadline or early do not wait last minute.

Holt is the reason I decided to become a math major. The way she taught class made everything easy to understand. She hand writes her notes as she goes in class, along with the students. Very professional and very willing to help in any situation.

Professor Holt is solo sweet and VERY clear and helpful if you are confused - won't move on until she knows everyone understands. You do have MyMathLab assignments for homework. Only two "quizzes" (2 to 3 questions online that you can take multiple times). Test reviews are exactly like the test (just different numbers obviously). LOVE HER!

Professor Holt has an amazing personality and is very passionate about math. She is very helpful when it comes to the amount of resources she provides through her post on D2L such as: recorded lectures, lecture notes, test reviews, etc... I defintely recommend Professor Holt if you enjoy math and want to succeed and better understand math.

5 tests and a final. HW is online and long, but she gives extensions if you request them. Very clear on her expectations. I relearned Calculus from her and she was great, honestly.

Even though there were a lot of homework and the homework was tricky, I enjoyed her class online. Just remember that her final is worth 55% if you take her online class.

Professor Holt is a very caring teacher. If you need help with the class work or if you just need someone to talk to she is always willing. There's a lot of homework, and it honestly doesn't help with the test. However, if you do her study guides (make sure you know how to do every problem on the study guide) you will do great on her test!

While im not a math genius, I did better in high school precal than her algebra class. Metric tons of homework (29 in total x 30 problems) and more than ten practice tests for the 5 tests and final exam. If you don't understand the material you better learn quick. Paying attention in class is crucial, she doesn't go over many things multiple times

Prof Holt is a very kind woman, she was personable and cared about her students learning. She gives a lot of homework but it really does help reinforce the topics and concepts. Not a bad class at all.

Professor Holt is kind and really cares about your grade and your willingness to stay on top of it. However, she is one of those teachers that call on you, even if you do not know the answer. Everything she teaches is online, she uploads her lectures. Typical freshman class work & style of teaching. Online code only necessary, don't buy paper txtbk

She was extremely nice and wanted the best for her students. She gives lots of online math homework that would take hours to do. She graded our tests pretty hard but if you disagree with any error, you can go to her and she can give points back. Overall she is pretty good.

Professor Holt is a great math professor. If you have a hard time in math I would recommend her. She gives a lot of homework but it's only to help you understand and her tests are pretty straightforward. The only bad things about her are she wants her class to be put first over other classes and she sends a lot of emails.

Holt is one of the most genuinely caring instructors I've ever seen. Actually. She's one of the most caring People I've ever seen. She wants to help you, and she's aware that the material covered in class can be very difficult. She uses a lot of handouts, and always has materials available online (I suggest you use them). And DO THE PRACTICE TESTS!

Class was taught online while it was a lot of homework and self teaching Dr. Holt was always available to help via email and webinars. Resources for extra teaching are always available.

She is an awesome teacher, but her final is tough. Its 25 questions worth 55% of your grade. I took this online and it was a lot of homework and a lot to learn. Prof. Holt was awesome with letting me takes the tests and quizzes more than was supposed to be given. Just make sure you do the practice quizzes for sure.

Holt truly cares about her students. The material is tough. EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWERS ON THE FIRST TEST OR YOU WILL FAIL IT. 70% of students forgot & failed. Lowest test dropped. 5 point extra credit is WORTH IT. Final exam is like the practices. If you bomb the 1st few tests, the 2nd half is easy. If the 1st part is easy, don't slack later. DO ALL HW.

I loved having this professor! She was accessible & gave multiple attempts on tests. Homework was pretty simple, but there was a lot of it. You do have to buy an access code, but it was all online so you work at your own pace. USE THE PRACTICE TESTS PROVIDED!!! She was very, very organized & sweet. 10/10

Took Prof Holt for Algebra online. Loved her. Gives a lot of time to complete homework, with unlimited attempts on each problem, AND 3 attempts on each test. Also gives partial credit where its due on the tests. Would 100% recommend.

She is really nice and genuinely cares about her students. She was always available for questions and advice and responded to emails quickly. I took classes from her in person and online and I learned so much! I was always terrible at math, but she helped me turn Fs into As because her lectures are so descriptive and broken down.

You get two attempts on test and they are broken into two parts. One part which is 75% of the grade you can use notes and hw. The other 25% you can use a formula sheet. She is very sweet and cares about her students!

Very nice. I did suddenly switch from in-person to online, so that was kinda difficult, but she is very engaging with the class. The tests were broken up into 2 parts, and you could use a formula sheet and your notes. She encourages questions and wants you to succeed. I'll admit it was a rocky start but as I get near the end im glad she was my prof

Very self-paced. Overall I liked this class and if you do all your homework you'll do great. Sets one day every few weeks to turn in all the work (250+ before each test, aprox. 7 tests). Always answers within the hour to emails. $75 tec fee for the website for the whole course. Provided 3-4 attempts on each test. Make sure to take notes of homework

Overall, the course was not really that bad. I would recommend taking Dr. Holt if you are okay with teaching yourself. The class has four exams, discussion posts, key term quizzes for each chapter section, and chapter homeworks. She is a nice lady, but very unorganized!

Dr. Holt's online Math1113 class was very well organized and self explanatory. My math lab is really hard to work with but Dr. Holt seems to understand that and is forgiving and will go back through your tests and bump your grade for answers wrongly marked wrong and give more partial credit. It was a difficult subject though.

Professor Holt is great! I have taken 1111 and 1113 with her. Class is very straightforward and easy to do with other classes. All of the work and exams open at the beginning of the semester. The grading system is 20% discussion boards, 20% for the final, 30% for my math lab homework, and 30% for exams.

Dr. Holt is one of the best math professors out there. She cares so much about her students and their success in the future. I was failing her course and she gave me help and let me redo all of my assignments and tests. I was failing with a 33 during midterms and I passed her course with an 81. She is amazing I really recommend her to anyone.

Pretty easy class if you watch the lecture videos. Discussions every other week. Homework is a lot but easy if you understand.

Some people complain about this professor simply because they do not read instructors or even the syllabus. Her class is so easy and she is very sweet!!
