Dr. Long uses slides in conjuction with Blackboard. This is extremely helpful. He goes over the material in great detail and gives everyone a chance to ask questions if something is unclear. He genuinely cares about his students and whether or not we are following along. If you take Econonmics - his class is the only way to go.

Very good professor teaches in a way that relates to the real world. I have taken other econ classes and he is the best I have had. Buy the book and use the website on the back that is were the test come from. Not an Easy A but if you find an econ that is,I HAVE SOME SWAMP LAND TO SELL YOU

i like dr long, nicest teacher i have had all semester. his tests are somewhat easy, but you really have to study the material in the notes and book. other than that, if you have any kind of crisis going on in your life, just tell him and he's totally understanding!

Long's class is fairly easy. As long as you print the powerpoint notes and study them along with read the chapters in the textbook, you will earn an A or B. He is very flexible if one needs tutoring, and he is very understanding and will go out of his way to make sure his students understand the concepts.

I really liked Mr. Long. He is the friendliest most genuine professor i have had in a long time. He does everything on powerpoint which makes it much easier in knowing what he is talking about. Econimics is not an easy class, so i think he does a great job in trying to help everyone understand the course.

His class is easy. The test come straight from the book. His power point summarize the chapters. I made an A during his winter mini. His voice is boring though but he tries to add humor to the class and he is very helpful and loves answering any questions you may have.

It feels like he's putting you down sometimes. Teaches straight from the book, and tests concentrate on word problems, not vocabulary. You can't help liking him, though, he's a nice guy and good teacher. I would definitely recommend him.

Great guy, very friendly and helpful.Subject matter and tests are difficult. I didn't find him boring at all, actually very interesting and knowledgable. I would recommend to serious students not wanting to be spoon fed. Good luck!

Dr. Long gives all students a chance to make a good grade. He gives review sessions before tests and gives every student time to stop by his office and discuss anything they are unclear on. Lectures are good and very informative. He explains the material well and demonstrates knowledge of the material. I Highly recomend him.

Dr. Long is a very good professor. He makes every effort to help you understand the information. I'm taking a spring mini and so far have made two A's. I did study, it is not a free ride. If you study his powerpoint and review questions from the study guide..you will pass! South campus is closer, but I drive to Central because he is a better prof.

Genuinely cares about his students. I have never met another teacher that cares so much for students and that they learn. Wants everybody to get a good grade cause he cares so much so he makes attendance mandatory. Has recently toughened up a bit but still you best choice by far when it comes to economics.

Im taking the spring mini at the moment and even though there is alot of material to cover, Dr.long covers it really well and his tests are based exactly over the material in class and his power points so if u make a bad grade its ure own fault.he agrees that it is a boring subject and so he lightens it up by crackin jokes.

EASY, FUNNY, and GREAT! As a Political Science Major he makes economics a breeze...read powerpoints, go to class and buy study guide handbook... easy A... just pay attention!

The class itself is boring but, Long tries to lighten it up. He tells some jokes, you may catch them and he is really helps you if you are trying to get a higher grade, he gives a curve sometimes.

Macroeconomics was easy. Got an A+ in the course. Funny teacher. Starts the day with a joke, helps lighten the mood. Would definitely take again. Highly recommend for MACRO.

He teaches on multiple levels. If you just need to get by, you most definitely can without much difficulty. He'll curve tests if people do badly. If you want to get a lot out of it, he'll always offer help during office hours to go over tests, or just to discuss things more thoroughly. He's responsive to e-mail, and is very helpful. Easy A!!!!

Dr. Long is a very personable teacher who truely cares about his students. Although macro and micro economics are not the easiest classes in general, he does the best to help you understand. He is always happy to answer any questions and he normally grades on a curve to make it fair.

This class was hard because economics is hard. I scraped by with mostly B's on the tests, but I still made an A. I only made an A because he gave us the opportunity to do a group project for the sole purpose of boosting our grades.

You use the book and he teaches straight from the book. We started in Jan. to use Aplia but since everybody got D's on it he said we didn't have to do it anymore. 4 tests he drops the lowest, 1 group project that better done alone and a final THATS NOT CUMMULATIVE! He helps his students any way he can, honestly.

If you must take Macroeconomics, take Dr. Long. He brings a real world aspect to the course, and is available if you do not understand. Very helpful, friendly and fair. He wants you to pass and even curves tests sometimes. Makes the class fun. I left South campus came to Central just to take his class. Notes come from powerpoint.

Economics is a hard class to begin with. Go to class everyday, READ THE BOOK, it will help a lot.He lectures right off of his notes, which follows the book. The tests are not that easy, unless you study, study, and study. He gives extra credit, to ensure that you'll pass the class.

Dr. Long is probably the best teacher I have had at San Jac. He is more than willing to help and work with the students. If you need to miss a test just let him know and he will reschedule. He offers lots of extra points, and if students dont so well on the tests he will give a curve. I would recommend Dr Long over any other economics teacher!

Dr Long is a great teacher. I took him for Macro and came out with an A in the class. You have to study for the class but it's nothing over the top. Dr Long is a teacher who really wants everyone to do well and will go out of his way to help his students (out of class tutoring/reschedule tests). Would highly recommend anyone taking eco to take him.

Take Dr. Long over anyone else. He is the most helpful teacher I have ever had. He relates the material to real world examples. Group Project that really cements the learning and can raise your by 20 total points. Stick it out and you will pass.

4 tests keeps the 3 highest grades; a final, group project and 8 web articles. hes easy to follow just print out the notes. He really helps struggling students. He's really nice and all the assignments are clearly laid out; he curves.

This was honestly one of the best taught classes that I've taken. We took three tests (which were not difficult if you studied the powerpoints and read), then he only took the three highest. then he took the final..put it in as our fourth test. We also had a project, that was pretty much a completion grade that was worth 20% of our grade!

Dr. Long cares about the students and really wants each student to understand economics. He will go out of the way to help a student that is trying. Powerpoint lectures, Alpia, Group Projects and reading. If you pay attention in class and read the chapters, you will pass with flying colors. You have to study, but you can make an "A".

Really good teacher. He really knows what he is talking about, and is always willing to help out his students. As long as you take good notes this class should be no trouble.

Very Helpful and very kind he helps everybody and even those people that shouldn't get his help. He is there for you and wants you to succeed not a common type of Professor he is genuine. I would take his class again in a Heart Beat.

Easy teacher, hard subject.. he tries really hard to cover the material and make it torturing for everyone in class. He helps u out by dropping test grades and doing make-up exams. i took him in the mini and i thought he covered the material pretty well in 3 weeks... make sure you do aplia and read the book and you're guaranteed an A in that class

This proffessor its really helpfull. gives you a lot of chances to inprove your grade. He really makes it easy to understand. You can make a good grade with just attending his lectures.

He is a very helpful teacher I honestly did not think that i was going to pass and he worked with me and i was able to bring my grade up to a C... even if econ is not your major he is one that will work with you even if you dont care to be there... and he does give extra points if you show up to class and you do your aplia online.. it is not hard..

Dr. Long is a great professor. He understands what it is like to be a student, he helps students that are struggling with remarkable patience and takes his time to encourage the students that are doing well. I have changed my major to Economics because of this class! The project topics are all current and really make the theory come together!

BORING. If at all possible don't take him one night a week. You WILL fall asleep, I repeat you WILL fall asleep. He is VERY VERY VERY intelligent but struggles to share it with students. Dont buy book. Do aplia and do group project.

Wow, what a monotonous professor. However, what he lacks in charisma, he more than makes up for with likability. He's ancient and respectable. He will always work with you, but you might fall asleep.

Take him in a mini if possible. Keeps the long classes enjoyable. Jokes are corny but kept the class laughing. If you can make class everyday during 3 weeks, are coherent during class, and do the aplia you will at least make a B. If you're slightly above average student don't see how you couldn't make an A.

Boring subject. not a bad professor. aplia is considered optional and is extra credit. i took macro in summer 1 and am taking him again summer 2 for micro. kinda monotonous and repetitive, but if u want to learn something and make a good grade, take him! he also gives out curves on the exams which can range from 2-6 points.highly recommend!!

Dr. Long is only the best professor ever. He is a good man that goes far above and beyond to help his students. I wish I could take him for all my classes!! Econ either comes easy for you or you really have to work to understand some concepts(aka me). Either way, Dr. Long is a great teacher, understands economics inside and out, and will go the extra mile to make sure you succeed in his class. But, DON'T MISS CLASS. He emails back well and may open APLIA back up for missed assignments at end of course.

Dr. Long is an amazing professor. Many of his students have won the state in econ competitions and have been flown to other states to compete nationally, including myself. I strongly recommend Dr. Long and if you study you'll receive an A+. He will always work with you and make sure all students understand.

Very nice man, cares about whether his students succeed, which can be rare. Very good at explaining material in simpler terms (purely teaching economic theory can be confusing, but he gives good real-world examples. Learned a lot, but be sure to do the online portions. If you don't, you will most surely fail.

Difficult class if you don't do the online work, but Dr. Long is definitely helpful with the material. He loves to make jokes and tries to keep the information interesting. I wasn't interested in Eco but it was required and I'm glad I took it from Dr. Long.

I took Professor Long for both macro and micro courses. He is always helpful with emails if you have any questions on anything. Economic is a tough subject overall. But as long as you work hard each week you will do great! It might seem little overwhelming on the first week, but you will start getting into the rhythm of things.

Dr Long is one of the best professor I've had. He is extremely knowledgeable in the subject. He is very helpful and does not make a student feel stupid. Dr. Long does expect you to do your work and does expect you to show up in class. I would recommend him to anybody who needs to ECON classes. Loved his sense of humor he incorporated in the class.

Great teacher. I took him for both macro and mirco in the summer. Clear grading and gives a great understanding of economics. Although his lectures are boring, still a great professor.

I took him for both Micro and Macro econ. The lectures are lectures, but he is very knowledgeable in this subject and is more than willing to answer questions. You cannot miss more than 5 classes with him otherwise you won't pass. All the assignments are online and the grading system goes by how many points you receive and not the actual grade.

Dr. Long is an incredible instructor and individual! I took him for both ECON 2301 and 2302. He takes a difficult subject and makes it easy to understand. He is truly passionate about the subject and it shows. He is a very kind hearted person and goes to great lengths to help his students be successful. I will miss his class!

Professor Long is an incredible professor! Attendance plays a large role in your success of the class. :) Although this was the hardest class I have ever taken, it was a little less over whelming with him as my professor.

Took 2301 and 2302 online in the summer. Economics comes easy for me, so the classes weren't hard to me, but the online homework and quizzes helps you retain the material. No exams for online. Just the online assignments and a quiz at the end of each chapter. I never needed assistance, but he seems very approachable and willing to help his students
