The best professor at Q.C. She is a very sweet woman. She wants everybody to do well. She gives good reviws before the test. Her final was "Open Notes"...I highly recommend her....
She is the best prof teaching the Eco 215 course. She really nice professor and she doesn't like when ppl walk out of her classroom. Her test are fair. The final she let us use our notes only. She has an accent so somethings won't be so clear.
no choice for econ215 b/c other profs are really bad - specially suende?? who is no longer in qc. nothing special so far, everything frm book, open note. but she has accent so hard to understand sometimes.
her accent is horrible. she is not clear with the material, so the open note exams do not help much. overall, it is really a boring class!
She's more interested in just having a conversation about everything else going in the world than teaching. Notes are a joke since they reflect nothing pertaining to the exam. She's a nice lady but not one that should be teaching.
She is a nice person however her teaching skills aren't so great! It's very difficult to understand her at times. She doesn't take attend. There are 3 homework assignments from text, mid-term (very hard even though it's open notes - avg was 68), 1 quiz (easy) and a final (wasn't bad). I wouldn't recommend taking her I didn't learn anything.
Everyone here who is rating her bad have no idea how to really study or want an easy A. I agree that she is hard to understand and likes to talk about other topics, but that shouldn't keep people from reading the chapters. From my experience, if you read the chapters and take notes, you will pass this class easily.
This teacher is fair and nice.Exam covers exactly from review class. Topic itself is boring and she try to add current affair into it. Overall, I think she is a good instructor.
She is a nice teacher. Not harsh and tries her best to make the course interesting and easy to understand
She is a good teacher and did prepare her lectures and give very good examples.
I dropped other professor to attend Ms. Lohez's class. She gives many examples and does her best to help student. She need to reduce her accent but she speaks English fine. All in all, she makes the lecture interesting.
Only good thing is that she gives open notes exams so you dont really have to study the chapters or anything; don't recommend taking if you actually want to learn something cuz I didn't learn anything; doesn't have a clue on how to speak English and she makes it difficult to see the notes on the board with her sloppy handwriting and cheap markers
This Professor tries to make notes for the students and she is a very nice and understanding lady. Her exams are fair. You do need to read and study the textbook thouroughly to do well.
Professor tries to put up notes for the students to review the textbook and she is a very understanding lady. Her exams are fair. But you do need to read and study the textbook thouroughly to do well.
Professor tries to put up notes for the students to review the textbook and she is a very understanding lady. Her exams are fair. But you do need to read and study the textbook thoroughly to do well.
Well if you really want to learn skip her class. Unprofessional-use her phone during class, always late, it takes for her one month to grade midterm exam. All her "notes" from the book, talked about economic news, nothing related to course. Have favorite students. Asked student to buy soda for her on the regular basis.
I learned great deal of this class. She lets student run the class but she does her job good.
I took ECON 215 with her fall 2010. She was understanding and considered to students. But you still have to read the text book and do the home work. Her exams were very fair. She hosted the pizza party for the class the last day of class.
It was hard to get into her class. I would take another class with her. Exams were fair and course load was balanced.
She is nice to students who work hard and humble. Exam is reasonable and all you need to know is where to find the answers in the text book. But you need to know where to find in the text book. M.H.
This is a good professor. very easy to interact with students and make course understandable and interesting. I am accounting major and she makes economics easy and clear to me. I recommend you to take her course
She made the subject easy to understand. When other professors teaches Money and banking, they do not explain it clearly as she does. She smiles all the time and easy going. Some students do attend class and she is upset.
I can not find anything bad to say about this Professor. She is absolutely amazing. I have taken two classes with her ECON 206 and ECON 326. She gives 3-4 homework Midterm and final you take a home, She grade fair. She helps students in the process and makes the class interesting. Really nice Teacher, I recommend her
Professor Lohez gave very clear lectures. The material presented were simplified and easy to understand. She is also very considered and simple. A kind lady in deed.
Professor Lohez is absolutely the best!! She cares about your success and is willing to help anyone who is concerned about doing well. The midterm and final are open book so its really hard NOT to do well. The homeworks are also from the book. This is definitely the professor to take for Economics 215!!
Great Professor! I had her for Econ 215 and 326. Her lectures are lucid and interesting. She pretty much adheres to the textbook material. The homework assignments are great prep for her exams, so there are no surprises. She is very approachable and helpful during and after class. I highly recommend her.
She know how to teach the material well she carees for your students. A Good person!
Professor Dening is the best I will recommended at everyone take her class, she make her class more interesting that it is, and she care for her students, you won't be regret to take her.
Ms. Lohez is very patient with students and she cares about students whose mother language is not English. I think that she is particularly sympathize with immigrant students.
This professor goes over the material too quickly. Only one lecture is usually devoted to each chapter. She just writes couple of stuff on the board and doesn't explain the concepts at all. If you take this course, you will be teaching the material to yourself from the book.
Come on Guys. She is the best one to teach Money and Banking in the Queens College. She does explains and write very good notes which is very helpful for the exam. Home Works are through myecon lab.
Hard to understand her lectures. Her English is not good. It takes a lot of effort on my part to concentrate on what she is teaching. Language barrier is the biggest problem with this class. If you take this course, then ecpect to be teaching the material to yourself. If I hadn't taken this class before, I am sure I would be failing right now.
Common everyone! She is a nice professor. She is very knowledgable. English is not her 1st language. So, she does have an accent. But if u try to understand her, it's not that bad. She is friendly. Explains everything really well. Open book exams. (Midterm and Final). She doesn't like being disrespected by students. Highly Recommended!
She is a great professor, however she doesn't speak good english but I personally didn't find her hard to understand. Strict w/ attendance so dont miss class if u want to stay on her good side. Lectures very interesting & u can definitely learn a lot from her. HW is done online & get unlimited tries, tests are open book/ notes. What more can u ask?
I didn't like the teaching style of this professor. She writes a lot of stuff on the board, but she gives us very little time to copy. As she is writing, she starts erasing what she just wrote a few seconds before. She also reads them loud as she is writing. Imagine listening to her voice while you are trying to read what you are writing.
Take this course on Summer one with Ms. Lohez. Her lectures are interesting including Asian Currency crisis and she present different views and let students to judge. She loves students to participate in the class discussion. The Home work is on line and she is a good teacher. Nice to students.
The Lecture is interesting with many current affairs to address such as the FED monetary policy. Kind and fair.
Nice teach does not throw stuff at you but really care about your progress.
Professor Lohez is a great lady. She is super friendly and she really cares about her students. Her lectures are clear and always on point. The exams are fair. She tells you what is going to be on the midterm and final. There are no surprises. This class is a must take for those majoring in business or finance. You will not regret taking her!
The lectures are interesting because she including the current affairs. The tests are manageable and her classes are popular among the students
Online homework--all due at the end of the semester. Tests are open book and open note. Lectures are a little unclear, but the textbook and blackboard make up for this. Very nice and occasionally funny professor. Take attendance.
Ms. Lohez is just not a good teacher. I have nothing against her personally, but I don't like her teaching style. She needs to spend more time explaining concepts instead of talking about unrelated matters in front of class. Plus she kinda has weird personality. She picks on students, and she asks them really personal questions.
she is not clear with the material, so the open note exams do not help much. overall, it is really a boring class!
I love this teacher. She explains the material unlike other professor who do not cover material and give hard exam. She is friendly and also available to help studnets on job searching writing letter of recommendation
Professor Wu Lohez is a terrific money and banking teacher. Her class goes beyond the textbook and encourages class participation on real work current events that are relevant to the classes subject matter. In terms of grading, midterm and final that are both open notes and open book. Bring a book and you'll do great! Definitely recommend!
Ms. Lohez lecture is interesting mingled with current economic affairs. As accounting major, Banking and Monetary policy has very little to do with my future career.. However, Ms. Lohez induce my interest in the subject and she is very knowledgeable of U.S. economic history. She is also very sweet person with big smile all the time.
I like this teacher. She is fun and not pretentious! It is very interesting to talk with her after the lectures, she has insights on economics and our financial crisis.
I wanted to take a second and thank Ms. Lohez very much for offering a wonderful class, I have learned and retained so much information in her class. She is truly one of the most remarkable professors I have encountered in my academic journey.
Being around her makes you want to be a better person. She entices your experiences as a student and gives you self-confidence to reach your full potential.
NO more open book exams. Hasn't done them for the past 2 years. Exams are hard if you don't study a LOT. Odd midterm structure with 30 MC (60 pts) & 2 short answer questions (40 pts!). One of the short answer questions was never taught in class, so most students automatically got 20 pts of their exam grade. There are no curves in this class.
Professor isn't organize forget usb, test results, and came late to class. The midterms seem to be for the most part confused and difficult. And a very difficult final. Doesn' give reviews, not extra credict, Doesn' t follow book context and tech based in other resources. I would not recommended this professor.
Well, the mid-term exam is bit difficult but final exam is truly easy! Yes, you need to read the Wall Street Journal which she recommended in the beginning of semester. If you truly want to understand how the Wall Street works and how global financial system works then She IS THE ONE! DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK HER FOR JOB REFERENCE AND CONNECTIONS!
NO more open book exams, plus shes frantic and unorganized. Do not take.
She showed the video on how Fed cash management. Chapter 6 and Chapter 5 on interest rates are very difficult but other chapters are not so bad. I like her!
Yes, the professor is nice but the exams are very very hard!
She is one of the worst professors I have taken. SUPER unorganized, is not available outside of class. The only good thing is that she is easy going. Attendance does not count, all of the homeworks are due at the end of the semester so it is easy to get a good grade in the class.
I took ECON 215(1:45PM class) with Professor Lohez. The class room was very small for more than 45 students! But I generally enjoyed her class. Money and banking are very related with our day to day life. There are there exams and reading assignment of the Walls Street Journal. The materials are understandable. She curved in the end of semester!
She is very kind as a person. But as a professor she reads all the time from the slides. Never expect to get the exact answer of your questions. Her accent is hard to understand. The tests are really hard and the short answer questions are too tough. Get ready to study yourself.
Exams are hard! The course is very useful and I personally like her very much because she explains not like other professor who do not care about students. She makes it easier by using metaphors and examples. Lots of home works for sure and also reading assignments! get used to read the Wall Street Journal !
Professor Lohez is very knowledgeable and flexible. She is the type of professor that want students not only to do well in her class but to do well in their career. Econ class is not easy but she doesnt rushes through the materials. She also gives a lot of history on money and banking as well as current events.
Nice as a person, terrible as a professor. Her exams are tricky and not as easy as the material makes it seem. Tough class, not because of the material, but because of the professor. Avoid.
Really obnoxious at times, doing things like yelling at students during tests for leaving out small details when asking questions about things that she hardly went over in class. She also does a terrible job of teaching the material, most classes are her talking almost to herself, going on tangents for over an hour.
I truly love this professor! Use simple language to explain most difficult economic theory! Humble and grades were earned not inflated! Fair person
This is the best professor that I have had at Queens College. She posted videos from the Fed and she cares about students and explain things clearly and gives good examples which are related to the class. Furthermore, during this COVID-19 Pandemic, she has shown her humility and kindness.
A really amazing person. She explains everything to her students with real-world examples. Always willing to help if you want to improve. Loves and respects her students.
She is one of the best professors I had, truly one of the best.
Great Professor. Very caring.
During the Covid-19 crisis, she did her best to make sure the class understood what was being taught with well-organized lectures and powerpoints to go back to. Though the homeworks were long, they were very helpful for the exams. She was a caring professor that listened to students, and any concerns were addressed to the fullest of her abilities.
Always late for class, always talk about her experience in China. Talking about her personal stuff instead of a class lecture. In conclusion, I learned more about China than economic.
Professor Lohez is very knowledgable about the subject. Her explanation to the materials was very clear and easy to understand. Her exams are taken straight from the homework. She gave everyone 100 in the HW writing questions in order to enhance our grades. She is super nice and kind. I loved her class and greatly recommend her to every one.
easy class I think you def should take. test was pretty much from the hw. hard to understand what she says but just take notes you'll do fine.
Professor Lohez is genuinely a good woman. She is very knowledgeable in the field of economics and has a lot to share. Although I only ever met her online, she was very caring and it showed through the screen. We had to buy an expensive online textbook where all the homework was but generally the homework and tests were to the point and fair.
One of the best professors I have had at Queens College so far. Power points are very clear and always updated. Grading criteria is fair and clear for all to understand. Now only demonstrated textbook examples, but examples in the current world as well to give us (students) a better understanding of the material to today's economy.
She is very good professor and is a class that I would recommend taking. There are 3 tests and homework for each chapter. Assignment due dates are very flexible and the lectures are very interesting. She is a must take.
DONT TAKE THIS PROF IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A "WATER COURSE" SHE GIVES 40+ HW QUESTIONS WITHIN ONE HW ASSIGNMENT, EXAMS WILL BE CONTAIN SHORT ANSWERS
She's fine. You will do well if you read the textbook and do the sample test she provided. ATTEND HER REVIEW SESSIONS!!!
She is a good teacher and she gave students many opportunities to improve their grades and sample tests usually have questions that appear in the actual test. She is a nice person as well.
The course isn't so bad. Attendance isn't mandatory but she might give you a slightly better grade on exams if you go to class. A lot of HW but it's not hard, just tedious. 3 tests, noncumulative. You can really just study the slides she posts and be okay. She also posts practice exams, and a lot of the questions are from the HW and practice exam.
This was my first college professor and genuinely the worst experience of my life. She cannot teach at all and has an accent that makes it hard to understand. She graded my midterm wrong and took off an extra 10 points. Also a bad attitude when people don't answer her, very unprofessional. 100% do not take this professor she needs to be relieved.
Overall good professor. A lot of HW which consists of 40 questions per chapter. But doing the hw will help you on exams since the questions are similar and sometimes exactly the same . She also posts slideshows for each chapter on bright space . Just study the slideshows and hw questions and you'll do well . Only grades are exams and hw .
She's a great professor and very thorough. Read the text book which is very simple, do the homework (not too hard and she gives a lot of time to complete it) and attend class. You'll do good, and the exams are very straight forward. She does review sessions before the exams and makes it simple to answer if you read the book. Definitely take her!
This was the 3rd Time took her and it went great, I needed to boost my GPA So I took her class again. Just talk to her, be in her good and she will boost your in Econ 101 I think was suppose to get a B, but due to my loyalty she got my grade up to A-
Disappointing and She barely understands anything and can't speak or explain anything in English. She is also racist !
1 of the best professors I've ever taken at QC. My 2nd time taking her and it honestly was an amazing experience to participate in this course. Shes so caring & genuine. She tries her best to ensure everyone passes. Shes gives practice exams almost identical to the real one, and explains everything thoroughly. Hw can be tedious tho. Take her tho!!
