No tests, just an individual project and a group project. He assigns intermediate deadlines so you don't get too far behind on either. Frequent homeworks but not that hard. I've heard he's a lot easier than the other ME 1770 professors. As long as you do your work and don't fall behind the class is easy.

Hilarious Russian guy that cracks semi-lame jokes in class (which I still found funny), but also teaches the material very thoroughly and is very likely to give points back on homework assignments if you ask him about it. Awesome teacher that made a overwhelming (work load) class easier. Also did not hesitate to push due dates back if necessary.

Dr. Dorozhkin is super laid back and always kept class very lively with his folksy Russian jokes. If you have experience with CAD, the lectures can be a little bit boring (I didn't really pay attention and still got an A). Dr. D >>> Pucha is what you'll hear. Very chill, easy grader. Some assignments were time consuming and frustrating, but that's just the nature of a CAD class. It's significantly less work than other profs. Highly recommend.

Prof. Dorozhkin is awesome, but the TAs are super picky about what they take points off for. I lost so many points on homework for miniscule things, but sometimes my major errors went unnoticed. You can't choose your group for group projects. Pay attention to his lectures whenever you start learning SOLIDWORKS design drawings!

This dude is one of the most chill professors I've had. He taught us how to sketch (my drawing skills were inadequate before this), and gave us a large window to explore the world of CAD. I also got my nickname of the Backscratcher kid from him :) To succeed, I recommend starting early on HW, and practice!

Dr. D is an amazing prof. and he teaches the subject on a very high level. He has pretty lenient grading policies to let student be creative in class and has a really fun personality to boot. I personally think that the hardest part of this class is making sure everything is perfect, because even though he is nice, a lot of the TA's are not.

100% recommend dr d for me 1670. really chill prof but his lectures are very informative. one hw and one lab assignment almost everyweek so start doing them early. the TAs are tough graders but use their office hours, very helpful. but u cannot choose ur team for the team project. gives loads of extensions and is very understanding.

Some of the topics that are covered in ME1670 are pretty dry but Dr. Dorozhkin made everything as interesting as possible. He was pretty lenient about deadlines. Final grades are mostly based on 2 projects so don't wait until the last minute. He's a very nice, funny guy and the best professor I've had so far.

Dorozhkin is the goat. He was an amazing professor, and as someone who knew 0 CAD before taking his class, he explained the concepts in a very fun and interesting way. Two projects are worth the majority of your grade (30% each), but he is a lenient grader. ALSO MAKE SURE TO START ON THE HOMEWORK EARLY

Fun professor, definitely a manageable amount of work. Great intro to Solidworks. Take him if you can, he added 3 points for CIOS and it's an easy A.

He is understanding of other classes, so if you have midterms than he will extend deadlines. Don't talk loud in class or he will call you out.

Your grade is mostly composed of two projects (one individual and one team), but he gives you plenty of time to work on them, and he is great at answering any questions you have. Start the homework early so you can get help if needed. He is great at teaching the content, and he clearly outlines what you need to do to succeed. Take him if you can!

Dr. Dorozhkin is definitely the best choice for ME 1670. I've heard that Pucha gives much more work than him (and Dorozhkin already gave lots of work), and Jacobson went very slowly through the content. His lectures were a little slow, but not very long, and we stopped having to go to them closer to the end of the semester.

I came into this class with no CAD experience and left it knowing a LOT! The lectures will seem boring, but he posts the slides after if you ever need to reference them. The labs are the most important - he walks through a CAD task and shows you all the necessary elements. It may seem fast a first, but if you need him to repeat a step, he will.

I loved Dr. D and his teaching style. He's definitely the most aura 1670 professor and tries to make the lectures more enjoyable even if its an 8am. The grading for the labs can be super harsh along with the assignments, and it can seem stressful. While it might be stressful at first, it keeps you on your toes and they aren't weighted too heavily.

Dorozhkin hasn't lived up to the hype. Rambles during lecture and rushes through the massive amount of content, meaning you rarely retain it. Labs aren't bad but the homework is BRUTAL: several hours a week with unclear requirements. On top of that, the TAs grade very harshly for no reason. There's also 2 projects but they're not that bad.

Awesome prof. Not too tough but hard enough that you learn your stuff. Chill lecture style that's helpful & engaging. Accessible in office hours and happy to help if you have questions on wrangling SolidWorks into shape. Would totally recommend - made 8 am Friday lab fun.

There are many benefits of taking Professor Dorozhkin compared to others (access to the best project materials, has free voucher codes for ~$100 SolidWorks test certificates, more flexible for deadlines/requirements, etc.). However, his fast-paced and somewhat monotone nature made some of the important, dull topics less engaging than they could be.

Chill prof and very useful class. I learned almost everything through the VERY LONG hw and lab assignments, not his boring lectures. Assignments graded quite harshly, taking off for little things. Should be an easy A if you do your work with decent effort. Oh also he'll call you out in front of the class if you're late or on your phone or whatever.

Insanely funny and chill guy, he makes some of the most annoying parts of this class fun. Workload is a lot. The TAs are nasty graders and will take off lots of points for small things. The team and individual projects are massive time sinks. But he gives you enough resources to succeed and makes lectures fun. Take him if you can.

He is an awesome and very understanding professor. He makes his assignments very doable, although some might take longer than others. If he saw that few students had turned in a homework he usually gave an extension to all his sections, which was very nice, especially during exam heavy weeks. Can't recommend him enough!
