Interesting in-class movies and discussions. Fair and not too difficult.

not one of the best teachers but good.. she is very nice has her own practice.. but i think she is very unpatient and can not cary a conversation out side of class.. good teacher! test are all abcd very easy if you study/ know the material.

Knows her stuff, lectures we most of the time interesting and easily approachable. Test are easy , just study for them.

I took two classes that she taught. One was Psych 11 and Psych 1. I liked her class more in Psych 11, but she gives work, but she is a very good professor.

Very nice, mellow Prof~lectures/videos/in-class movie/book review/MC tests~gives major clues to test material during lectures & allows a 3" X 5" cheat sheet on all exams~allows U 2 have partner on 1 exam, too. Has her own practice~knows her stuff~dry/sarcastic humor~take her!

Very easy teacher, lectures the whole time, tests are easy. read the book, take good notes, study and you'll do fine. easy essay grader and gives extra credit.

Perfect for a winter/summer cram sessions. Lots of material, but test w/ partner and note cards. A forgiving grader with curves (the grade). Berg is cool, encourages critical thinking durring class discussions which help solidify text material, offers X-credit, but you won't need it. TAKE HER!

She rocks. I love her sense of humor & this class. Definately take this class. Use the free online tools that go with the book. There are self quizes, flashcards & tests. Keep doing them until you get them all correct. Use the 3X5 notecard she allows on exams for essay subject matter. DO NOT TAKE YOUR EXAM WITH A PARTNER. That's how I got my A.

i must say he class was awesome...def recommend it to people who are not psych majors but want to learn about it...like me. she is fair and gives extra credit assignments which we all know we need

Lectures all the time, but just take notes and use the notecards on the tests, you'll be fine.

One more thing (I think my rating before is not as thorough) she is excellent in her teaching in that you are definately going to walk away knowing the material you covered. This is what school is all about, so take her class.

She is great and very helpful. I have learned so much with her. Take this class with her, she will help you understand everything you need to know about this subject.

I like her, easy quizzes, fair amount of papers, decent class. Helpful, intelligent lady.

Great sujbect and teacher. Impossible not to get an A in this class-she makes it very easy and goes over the tests in class. Take it at night with adults-I took it during the day & the students were lazy & immature-sleeping on their desks! Made me feel like I was back in grade school! I felt sorry for Mrs. Berg, she deserved a better class.

Very easy class. The assignments are easy, the quizzes aren't diffcult at all, all you have to do is pay attention during class and take notes. The final was fun, overall she is a helpful teacher.

Assignments are clear-- don't know what the others are saying. Very easy to talk to.

Professor Berg is one of the interesting speakers I have ever experienced. She makes the subject matter come alive and her energy and enthusiasm reaches all members of her class. She is an inspiration to all and I plan to choose psychology as a major thanks to her.

I took her in fall 05 and never dreaded going to her class. She is extremely knowlegable on the subject and extremely straight foward in lecture. She made class enjoyable and likes students who are interactive and have a calm sense of of humour. Don't kiss her ass but try to make a good impression/get on her goodside. u'll b fine

Read the chapters before class, read the syllabus, and participate (but that should go without saying anyway) and you will do fine. She is not PC and will make fun of idiot - wonderful and refreshing, not to mention entertaining. She does not claim that psych is a natural science, is open to (intelligent) discussion, and her classes are interesting

she is a great teacher. i did not even touch my book and i was getting a A! (i learn psy in high school tho)very easy class and gives extra credits. if you are interested in psy, take her. cuze she will tell you lots of stuff you dont know. gives 2 papers per semester (easy easy).

I am in the Schol. class, and I think she's a pretty good teacher. I don't know why those students wrote all those negative comments about her.

Quizzes are based on what happened in class (discussions, films). She also argues with a lot of the statistics in the book and tests you on it. I missed 1 class and got a D on the following quiz. All other quizzes I got A's and B's. Try very hard on the 2 papers. I did mine the morning of and got 78% on both. I got an A in the class

She was wonderful! She made me really enjoy the topic that we were studying. I recommend her for everyone! I wish she was teaching more classes.

Ms. Berg is one of my favorite professors at SMC. I look forward to her lectures because she makes the material come alive. She should get a raise for her hard work and dedication.

Professor Berg's lectures on attachment were so interesting! I learned so much about myself and the people around me. It was great being one of her students. I recommend her hightly.

I'm now looking forward to taking her for Psych 11. Good to talk to!

Funny and easy to talk to

I took her for scholars class. This teacher is pretty cool. Can get awkward at some times but is generally nice. The class is easy and the observations are so straightforward its hard not to get an A. The quizzes are just common sense. She really knows her subject and has alot of experience in her field. I recommend her especially for scholars.

Scholars is great! GREAT sense of humor-- she only puts you to sleep when you are halfway there already!! I changed my major because of this prof.

DEFINITION OF CHILL! Take her! Allows notecards and partnering on tests. very funny and down to earth. Not much homework at all.

Scholars section. Really laid back professor, funny in a sarcastic way. Quizzes are mostly on things gone over in class and are easy if you take halfway decent notes, but book is needed for papers. Nice lady, wish she taught more classes!

She's very interesting! I love listening to her. She gives both sides of the information. I was planning on dropping psych until i met her and decided to stay. Not sure about her grading, but great teacher!

She's a very funny proffesor. She calls on you right away when you have a question and she answers it crystal clear. At a moment of time I decided to major in psych because she made it so interesting. Not much group work just tests which are multiple choice and she's always fair with grading. Wish I could take this class again if i could!

She is a laid back teacher, she might seem boring and monotone and first but I really enjoyed my time in her class

Shes really nice. pretty clear with whats shes teaching. the class can get boring at times, but no to the point were you need to slap yourself. the test are ok and she lets you use a notecard. the final is not cummulative which is great. i got a B but didnt try to hard until the very end. do good on the papers and it will bring your grade up.

Had her twice--nice person thogh you might not think so at first. I went to class--- no BORING power point.

If you get her sense of humor.. she focuses on some interesting things-though wants to makes the book clear. She often dsagrees with the book-- but again she is not boring but funny!

loved her class. what she teaches in class is exactly whats on the test. loves talking about her daughter, but the class is defineltly easy if u make a notecard. recommended....and yes she does pick her ears lol

loved her class. shes slow to warm up but then opens up and is good & funny. we always ended up in a fun, interesting discussion. if you like to speak up or share your opinions, this class is perfect. she's really chill and her class is really easy. she even drops one of your quiz grades and gives you one free wrong answer on every test. take her!

great- i took her LAST fall and i still think about how great of a professor she was- roll is not mandatory but you just miss out on notes- she is so interesting and makes psych so fun, please take her everyone i recommend her to everybody!

she WILL let you cheat on the test.You are allowed to "take your notes" with you to the test.I call that cheating, but hey,Im fine with it.The only problem were the papers,they r easy,and she says that there is no wrong answer,just different interpretation.Try writing something that she doenst agree with...CLOSE MINDED and unfair.Easy dumb class.

Great, easy class! As long as you pay attention in class and skim the book you will do well on the tests. DEFINITELY TAKE THIS CLASS. Great teacher.

I LOVE Prof. Berg! I think she is amazing! She honestly makes psych so much more interesting. I took it in high school and had no interest in it...took her now for psych 11 and I'm going to take her for psych 1.

i love professor berg! compared to a lot of teachers at SMC, i can actually say that i love her class. i love that there are only 6 quizzes, 2 papers & a final project. no final or midterms. and you get a notecard to put notes on for each quiz. she also explains the material so you can actually understand it!

A fun class--lots of participation. Not too hard--final project was way more fun then I thought.

This is the BEST professor in SMC by far! I LOVE her! she made me want to become a psych major! she explains everything so clearly and actually made it interesting! You get a notecard for every test and her tests are all multiple choice. read the chapter reviews at the end of the book and you'll be fine. But you DEFINITELY need to have the book!!

She is nice. She relies a lot on the book and her lectures for tests so you must pay attention. If you miss class you are responsible for anything that happened. But overall she is a very good teacher.

She is a psychologist through and through. A very interesting character to say the least, but she cares about teaching. The tests are EASY, just memorize all of the definitions. She curves some tests.

She was AWESOME! Although she only talks for most of the class and rarely writes anything on the board, I still learned a lot in this class. There is only like two essays and she gives several opportunities for extra cred! Take her!!!

Easy A. 5 tests. 2 essays. Some group projects. Chances for extra credit. Allowed to use a cheat card for the tests. Tests are curved. Lectures come straight from the book. Dry and sarcastic. Extremely knowledgeable. Some find her intimidating. Lectures can be boring. She appreciates class participation. All in all, I really enjoyed her!

she's a very intelligent woman,she may seem dry & sarcastic at times but her class is fairly easy. no midterm, no big final. you can use a note card in every test and the test is from the book and her lectures. she gives two reaction papers and one big essay, just attend class and you're good. RECOMMEND!!!

While I agree this was an easy A, it's important to note how much I learned and retained from this class... Dr Berg used Anecdotes, power points, videos, etc. The papers and final project were valuable. I came away with a new fondness for the child development field. Highly recommend.

VERY HELPFULL! Dr. Berg is very knowledgeble, Understand students to get the most of her with the topics,4x6 note card at test time. no big final.

Had her for child develp. -- I like this class too. Prof is easy to talk to.

I needed her help with some stuff and Prof. Berg was there. Paper wasn't a big deal. I wished that she taught more classes..

She's awesome! She knows A LOT! Her lectures are a little boring but she tells you stories about her work. HEAVY use of textbook to study for tests but that makes them easier. Let's you use a notecard for her exams. Exams are relatively easy if you study for them. Gives extra credit. The group essay and group presentation is a little annoying.

Great professor. Sarcastic and funny. Lectures can get a little mundane, but get better with her personal anecdotes. If you're a psych buff, this class is a piece of cake; if not, with the book, lectures and note cards you'll survive.

Easy A. Took minimal notes, never cracked open the textbook until the morning before the test,skimmed the summary section, and it was enough to retain everything I needed to know for the exams. The projects and other assignments only serve to boost your grade. Her class isn't exactly Disneyland, and it's a struggle to stay awake. Attendance not man

Her lessons are very boring you don't learn at all. Exams are multiple choice, no cumulative final. You can study from the textbook, even reading the summary of each chapter is enough. You can have a 4x6 note card in the exam. I recommend her if you want to boost your GPA :)

Amazing Professor! She make class interesting by telling stories about clients. Test are SUPER easy! Definitely an EASY A. First class she is kinda intimidating, but throughout the semster she very sweet and WANTS you to do well! :) 5 ***** RECOMMENDED

Pretty good teacher. Take good notes and keep up with the readings and you'll do fine. She allows a 4x6 flash card on exams which are helpful and you'll do several group projects that aren't bad at all.

Overall, I enjoyed this class! Take good notes during her lectures and study minimally from the book. She allows a 4x6 card on every exam so you can fit a majority of the material on the card! A good grade is not hard to come by in this class

She has a very dry sense of humor, but once you get it, she's freaking hilarious. Some people didn't seem to catch on. She goes through the book, so as long as you know your material, it's not too hard. Going to class helps, because she goes over specific things you need to know for the test! I'll miss her sense of humor!!!

I didn't think I would enjoy this class as much as I did. Dr. Berg is super smart and her lectures were usually pretty interesting. She's pretty clear on what is going to be on the test, you don't need to take strenuous notes. Do your definitions and use the notecard she allows for each exam and the class will be a breeze. No cumulative final!

Professor Berg is insightful, sweet, and encouraging. 6 quizzes (drops the lowest score), baby paper, and a final project. Her lectures may be a bit dry, but she tries to keep the class entertained. The quizzes are spot on with her lectures, so listen well. Topics written on the board pertain to the quizzes. It's hard to fail. TAKE HER!

Tremendously great at what she does. She is super smart, all her lectures are spot on, literally gives you the answers for quizzes. Not too much work but studying matters as well as coming to class, She has a good eye on reading students who have interest in learning the material! Easy grade if strongly determined. Taking her this spring 4 Psych 1.

We had four tests and she let us take bring an index card that we could put whatever we wanted on it. Take this class if you want an easy AB! She's nice enough, just don't ask dumb questions. Lectures were okay, I enjoyed the youtube videos.

Professor Berg is a great professor! Your grade is based on tests, one group project and one extra credit opportunity. No homework. Lectures are interesting even though she didn't use slide notes, but we did watch videos. Make sure to read the book!! I can't stress this enough. You get the grade you worked for. Definitely recommend her!
