Class was so much fun with her (and interesting). There are quizzes every week and tests every 3 or 4 weeks, but otherwise the class is awesome. Its one of the FEW classes that I actually wanted to go to!

Dr. Dewhurst is fair & u can learn a lot from her. Theres quiz every week but its 11 qts for 10 pts & if u listen to her lectures & review ur notes youll do fine. There are 2 big tests & a final but they are based mostly on the quizes so review them & go over ur notes! Not much assigned hmwk

I didn't really want to take this course but I am so glad I did. She is a great teacher, extremely clear, and if you just follow the syllabus and her assignment directions, you will do fine-- plus, you will learn.

I have taken several online classes, and this one was by far the best. She teaches, she is totally involved and the class was great. Assignments were relevant and definitely increased my understanding. I needed this class for my major, and am sooo glad I had Dr. Dewhurst.

I am taking this class online now, and it is great. I had her also for 102, that was regular face to face. She is really terrific, you learn a lot and she is reallly SMART but can TEACH. I would definitely recommend her-- and her assignments make you think but aren't a waste.

Had her for Abnormal Psych, tough because so much to cover, but she is a good prof. She also is very professional and shows a lot of compassion for people who struggle with mental problems which I appreciated since I have had a couple of problems myself. Very respectful of students

An excellent teacher who motivates students to enter discussions. Whatever she puts on the board will be on the test, guarenteed. If you take her class I would recommend that you read the chapter on the weekend and then when you go to class that week you will already know a lot of it and you will retain that information better for the test thatweek

She's a great teacher! The book was definitely interesting to read (and I am not a reader myself). Exams & quizzes are straight off the book. Online discussions require a lot of participation but can earn easy points. MUST TAKE HER!! A guaranteed A!

Took her online child psych class. Pretty simple..you basically read 13 chapters take a quiz on every one..midterm & final plus two assignments and you have to participate in discussion every week. Really interesting class especially if you are a parent or plan on becoming one. Dewhurst is really helpful and nice. Would recommend.

I took this class online and it was fantastic. Be prepared to work - there are mandatory weekly discussions and quizzes most weeks, so you have to keep up with things. But if you work, you'll do well. Prof. Dewhurst is really encouraging and helpful and keeps the discussions going. I learned a lot.

enjoyed this class a lot. Good discussions, and much better than most online classes I have taken. More than fair in terms of how much time we had to get things done. Liked that there were different videos, those were good and also liked the poster project at the end.

I have to say- when I took the course, I was annoyed by having to learn APA format, so annoyed. But, thank goodness I did-I use it in every class I am in now that I have transferred. Her attention to detail has proven to be one of the best things I got. Thank you Dr. Dewhurst!

Most organized online class I have had with involved professor.She responds to your questions pretty quickly, and is very willing to work with you. She also monitors the discussions and comments a fair amount, so different than other online classes I have had. Very good course.

One of best classes I have taken- clear, and well organized. Assignments make sense and are worth doing. Quizzes are a bit tough, but open book so if you are prepared you will do fine. Read the book though, it makes life easier.

Favorite professor ever. She gets really involved in the weekly discussions which is often rare for professors. She assigns work 2 weeks at a time. There's a lot of reading but if you follow with the questions she provides you'll pass no problem. She really works with her students and is open to communicate. Take a class with her!!!

Need this class for nursing school; didn't expect to learn so much or for it to be so enjoyable. It is clearly organized and she is active which is great for an online class. Discussions were never a waste of time, so much better than expected.

This was a great class- everything was set out on Day 1, all deadlines and due dates and grading scale so you could budget your time accordingly. Lots of good information to supplement the text and the professor was very easy to communicate with which is unlike some of my other online classes. I learned a lot.

Just finished this great class. I was nervous about an accelerated summer class but the teacher made things easy. Teacher also gave better feedback on my project than what i have had before.

Professor Dewhurst, I must admit, I was skeptical about taking her at first, but succeeded in the end. I took her Summer 2015. She was very involved in class discussions, which is great, and she grades very fast. She seems pretty cool, the book is worth keeping. I loved the book, theres so much to learn. Take her you definitely will not regret it.

I finally learned how to do APA format right - this is the first professor who took the time not just to say it was wrong, but to show me how to do it and direct me to a great guide to help. I am a psychology major so this is really important . Plus, the class was great. I learned way more than I thought I would.

I thought I knew everything I need to know from this course and only took it because it was a requirement to get certified to teach. Boy, was i wrong. I will be sch a better teaching of teens now. I took her online class and we went through the entire book, from beginning to end. She is very nice and organized. There are 8 easy quizzes, 1 case study, and weekly discussion posts. The class is so easy, all you have to do is just follow instructions just like any other class.

I just finished an accelerated online class that I was really worried about but I did great largely because Prof Dewhurst is organized and really responsive. She answers questions fast and grades fast and is really encouraging. I think I learned a lot more than I thought I would and I would take any other class she teaches.

This online class was an actual class, with real work which is what I wanted-I have had some that were jokes, where I learned nothing. Not here, she tells you what she expects,she is consistent and she covers a lot of information. Summer format is accelerated, but I chose that so no complaints as she offered a full content course as paid for

This was a great, great class. She combined her clinical knowledge with the textbook stuff in really practical ways. She is nice, and easy to talk to and very willing to help you out if you run into a problem. Maybe the most responsive prof I have had. Lots of the material is hard, but she works to make it manageable.

Excellent online class! Clear grading criteria. There are two open-book quizzes and 6 discussion posts due each week for the duration of the course. Toward the end of the class you have a paper and project. Stay organized, keep on top of your assignments and you should have no issues with this class. Very good!!

Prof. Dewhurst really set the bar when it comes to online classes. My growth & development class was blended (face-to-face & virtual), she gave fast and effective feedback whenever there was a question. This was my 2nd psych class and my 3rd year in college, up until being in this class I didn't know how to do APA citation until she showed me.

This was the most fun class I have ever taken! It combined online with class meetings that were full of really interesting activities that had to do with the class- we got to interview/observe babies and parents, preschoolers, had a great field trip to the Smithsonian and then, we had two amazing senior citizens change my whole view of aging.

Very well organized online class, easy to follow and lots of interaction from the professor. Assignments were actually interesting and helped me learn the material better. I would love to take another class with her.

This was a strong class- I already have a degree and needed this for teaching certification. Thought it wouldn't be much, but it is was maybe the most helpful class I have taken in terms of my ability to understand my own students. Discussions were much higher level than expected, and I enjoyed the class (and the professor) from start to finish.

This was a fun class, my first time taking a flipped classroom type. Class meetings were lots of hands on activities that made the class come alive and I understood the theories a lot better "seeing them in action". Loved the museum trip and when the senior visited us (97 years old! She was awesome!)

This was an amazing class. At first, I was very nervous taking her class because it was accelerated, but it ended up being my favorite class. The reading and discussions were not too difficult. I will like to take some of her other classes. I do recommend her! She is responsive and helpful.

Great professor! This was a half online and half on campus class so we only met on Tuesdays. Each Tuesday was an activity which is important do not miss those classes!! They way a lot on your grade. Exams are online and able to take at home and there are only a few papers. Plus, a field trip to a museum. She is a very caring and I'd take again!

I have taken a lot of online classes where the professor is hardly present- what a great change this one was. She is present, engaged and answers questions quickly. Grades are posted quickly. Papers are returned with good feedback (and yes, she saw all my weaknesses). Would definitely take again

Loved her! She was very respectful and always gave good feedback. It was an online class and she participated in almost all the discussions. There was a long essay at the end, but if you try hard, you get a good grade. Mine was 15 pages and I got a 100% on it with very meaningful feedback.

Hybrid class so you have to be sure to do the online part. But, she is really helpful and wants everyone to do well. We had lots of good activities that made the theories more alive like having babies in to our class and visiting a preschool. There was a great trip to the Smithsonian African American museum (she got tickets for us months ago)

Wasn't sure I would really learn anything in an accelerated summer course but I was very wrong. Great course, lots of good information, professor very present and easy to reach. Discussions were really good, not just the usual spit back what is in the book, but looked for your ideas and opinions. Better class than at my 4 year school.

I took this class as an accelerated online 6-week course. Nothing was too difficult. Weekly quizzes and 2 discussions post per week. She makes her grading criteria VERY CLEAR. No surprises. Just know your APA citations and you'll get an A. The only real difficult assignment was a 12 page paper about your life from fetus to present. Loved the class!

Super user-friendly online class. If you need it, take her. You'll spend an average of 5/6 hrs a week reading the book. There are 2 discussions per week and you have to comment twice on each. There is 1 quiz everyweek with 40 questions, timed. There are 2 papers (4 pg & 10 pg), but they're both easy. She's a tough grader, but you can still get an A

Specific and gives clear grading criteria and makes Black Board very easy and acessible. 2 papers that incorporate your own life expierences. Know how to use APA format. 2 Discussion and 2 long chapters each week plus a quiz. Manage your time and you will succeed. I also appreciated the fact that she adds to the discussion persoanlly.

I took this online and it was the easiest A I've ever received, just because the quizzes are so straightforward. The majority of our points come from quizzes, discussions, and 2 big papers. If you do those well you have an A. Her syllabus has a weekly schedule and the grading criteria are so clear, it's impossible to not pass.

This class was extremely easy to obtain an A. She makes it very clear of what needs to be turned in every week. You will do a discussion post and 2 responses to peers for each discussion as well as a quiz. They do not take much time to do. There are 2 essays, but they are simple. I recommend this professor!

Every week in Dr. Dewhurst's summer session we had to read between 2-3 chapters in the textbook, 1 quiz (50 multiple choices), and 2 discussions and 2 responses (2 per discussion). There were also 2 essays and a final. The shorter assignment was graded quite harshly and the long assignment was not. I liked the class but I did not love it.
