Very enthusiastic but does not prepare you at all for a WRITTEN final but generous on tests

this class is easy and nise is great! she's funny and very enthusiastic which makes a difference. The only thing is the speeches. Little time to prepare. But the final and tests are easy. anyone can get an A

Nise is a crack up, really truly loves her students. Grades on attendance/tests/quizzes. 3 big speeches to do, but she's a super easy grader, and they aren't hard at all. Pretty fun class, boring material, but she's hilarious to watch. Does anything she can to help out, just READ THE SYLLABUS, know when tests are, she expects you to keep up.

she is wonderful. soo funny. some reading but goes off the pwrpnt! BUT she is very unorganized and last minute paper! shez a really gr8 person but a bad teacher. i would recommend her but just go over the study guide!!

i thought this was going to be a really fun class where we just did a lot of little fun activities with groups but i was WRONG! She requires sOoOoO much outside effort. There were only 2 projects and her tests are cumulative. She constantly gave surprise quizzes. This was my hardest class and its was a collateral course!!

Nise is really nice and funny, but she requires a LOT out of you. Sometimes she does not make it clear what she expects, and your grade reflects it. It was a great class though, and she really opens up the forum for you to meet everyone and learn a lot.

She's a pretty cool teacher, for half of the class one time we went to the Off Campus Pub and ate and worked with our groups for a project that was due the following week. As much as she's into the subject, she does't really have time to help students outside of the class. She's so busy with a club at a high school and teaching at a junior college.

Frye is the bomb! Wonderful commitment to students. Excellent human being. VEry professional. Be ready to memorize terms. She stretches the heck out of you.Do not regret the class even for a C. Grades are grades, they never measure the growth.

She is really nice and helpful. Class is fun and interesting..just dont be late or else you will sing or dance. She does a well job of teaching the top. Got an A in the class thought would have gotten less but overall a great professor and would recommend taking her..too bad she doesnt teach all hcom classes.

Great Professor! She's funny and interactive with the students. You will have to work in her class though. before midterms is based off book (which sucks) and after is debates which turn out to be a lot of fun. Overall good class and not an extensive amount of work.

Mrs. Frye is a great teacher, good to look at as well ;-), yet her class is REALLY comprehensive. Final is comprehensive. ALOT of reading. If late, sing or dance for x seconds. Quite a few speeches.. Group project. Pop quizes, the whole works. I expected this class to be a flyby, but turned out its not. You will have to come prepared.

Overall good class! Fun and nice teacher. Dont let the laid back class environment fool you though because her tests kill! DONT buy the book! Waste of money!!!

I HEART Nise! She makes argumentation fun fun! Her class is never boring and she keeps everything interesting. I do admit her class is hard; everything is cumulative and that part sucks! Lol. but you WILL love her!

She is such a fun teacher! And she's really sweet too. She is very passionate about what she teaches. Her quizzes and exams are hard though. I highly recommend her. However, keep in mind that this class requires lots of hard work and dedication. It's really fun though.

Nise is amazing. Not gonna lie, her class is pretty difficult, but with hard work and effort you should be fine. She makes debating fun. The first half of the semester is all about learning how to debate (you also take your final early). The last half is when you apply what you learned and you actually debate twice. Overall I recommend the class :)

She is an amazing teacher and wants you to learn. She does a great job of explaining everything and always answered my emails ASAP. Granted, her tests are hard, but if you pay attention during class and participate, you'll be fine

Such a great teacher! Nise is so helpful and keeps class fun. There are a few bogus assignments like the mandatory service learning assignment, but they help in the long run. If you take this class, don't wait to "settle in" at the beginning of the semester or "ease out" toward the end; the class is full-throttle all the way through but worth it!

4 major speeches, one extremely hard midterm, and one take home final. No homework or quizzes. She's very funny and entertaining. Just do well in your speeches, and you will do well in the class.

Amazing professor and just all around person. Loves what she does so treat her with respect and she will love you. If you dont understand her lecture, ask her during office hours. Speeches are major portion or grade so be prepared to multiple of them in front of the class with a partner. EASY A!

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS BEFORE 12. She is VERY energetic, which I liked because I had her at 2:30. If I had her in the morning I probably would have been mad. Speech topics are easy and she always posts an exact outline of what she expects. She grades easy if she can tell you gave it your all. Come to class and try, and you'll pass no matter what.

I was scared to take a public speaking class but Nise really made it simple and took the fear away from that! Just a simple skim through the text and review her study guide and you're good for her midterm and final. Actually put effort in each speech and she will give you a good grade! Very inspirational and genuine person not just a professor :)

Ms. Denise Frye Is an amazing person she will help you a lot in class (her office hours are useless) 2 exams (mid term and final) they both don't worth much Around 5-6 speeches ( worth a lot) This class is in sustainability pathway Couple pop quizzes (don't worry) Don't feel shy! You need the book for exams (only)

On the first day I thought I wasn't going to be able to stand her, but boy did she prove me wrong. Although I am quite introverted, she made class fun and engaging. It was a small class so everyone was able to be more open and at the end of the semester everyone was friends with each other, and that's all thanks to her openness!

Nise really inspired me. I feel like I'm much better at communicating than before this class. If there is one drawback, she is really attractive and vivacious, so you may have to pay extra attention to get past that.

The most influential Professor i have ever had by far!! She comes off as sort of mean and nagging but she just wants you to be participating in class. It's a speech class..... if you suck at speeches she will help you! Go to her office hours (even if they are worthless) she remembers at final grade time i promise. TAKE HER SHE IS AWESOME

I love Mrs. Frye as a person. She truly knows how to make her students feel important. I found her class on the easy side. Some didn't, she is a hard grader for the subject. She made me a better speaker though. I will miss her!

Professor Frye is one of the most energetic, bubbly, sweetest professors, but sometimes her energy can be a bit much. She loves to get the class involved during her lectures. The required speeches aren't too bad and she's a pretty easy grader as long as you follow directions. Textbook is definitely required.

One of the best professors hands down. Very inspiring, definitely opened my eyes to how I perceive the world now. Lectures are clear and there are speeches to be done. Honestly, speeches are not as difficult, just be prepared. My class with her was awesome, everyone was like family, and her personality just made it 10 times better. Take NISE FRYE!

Best professor i had hands down. There is a midterm and final and two debates. Final is take home. Test are a little harder but she makes sure you're ready for them. Most helpful professor there is and won't give up until you understand whats being taught. Gives some hw here and there but its never difficult. She makes class fun.

Nise is an extremely good professor, she is both caring and inspirational. She cares about your grade and your well being, she probably shows more emotion for others than she does about her fight with cancer. The class is straight forward, there are some homework assignments, a midterm and final, as well as speeches. Your grade is speech heavy.

Professor Frye is such a kind soul. She is extremely enthusiastic which makes the class so much better. There was a midterm, 5 speeches, and a take home final. There's also a couple pop quizzes that are designed to real situations. Speeches count the most towards your grade but she grades fairly. Practice/prepare! Be sure to ask questions if unsure

Professor Nise's classes were something I would always look forward to during my week. She cares about students and is super enthusiastic. Her lectures are engaging and easy to understand, but beware of pop quizzes and trick questions she has in her quizzes. This class had 2-3 pop quizzes, a midterm, 2 structured debates, and a take home final.

Nise is an excellent professor. She knows what she is teaching and is able to relate it to real-world ideas. She is extremely funny and lets a LITTLE profanity through which adds to the welcomeness of the class. There is some homework and occasional quizzes. Speeches are what make or break your grade. She is inspirational and truly changed my life.

She has a lot of energy & as an introvert it was a bit draining. Make sure you choose students that are willing to pull their own weight because the research for debate topics can be extensive. She takes long to respond to emails. I almost didn't major in HCOM cause I knew I had to take debate, but she made it bearable.

Class can be overwhelming at first due to how super extra she is but you get used to it. Nise is really sweet and always willing to help so don't freak out over the barrage of work at the start of her class. Can be a little disorganized but NEVER a mess. The debates are where things get intense but she's always there to help out. TAKE HER!!

Nise is a fantastic professor who shows immense passion in what she does and the well-being of her students. You'll have a group project and two debates to work on, along with a group paper. There are pop quizzes which were the only thing I didn't like, it gave me anxiety. Otherwise, shes a great professor and she wants you to succeed!!!

She is such a loving teacher and really does care about her students. Her class is very fun and her personality is amazing. There are speeches that students must present since it is a public speaking class but they are not as bad as it seems. Participation does matter if you don't present your speech it can really hurt your grade.

Two tests - one midterm, one final; and multiple speeches. It really helps to be organized, especially if you are meeting only once a week! She's really nice and while her power points can be a bit boring, she tries to be engaging. Tries her best to give u as many points possible on speeches. Also really accessible outside of class.

Nicest professor I've ever had!! She brings so much energy to the classroom everyday and is super understanding, go to her office hours and she'll absolutely help you with whatever you're struggling with. Def a confidence booster when she reassures you during your speeches. She's honestly the best !

Professor Nise is an amazing professor! I love her energy she brings into the room. I looked forward to her class everyday! Her class is fun, a bit hard, and she is very understanding. She gives great feedback and never did I feel judged while delivering speeches. Take her if you have the chance you won't regret it!

No papers just lots of tedious work, worth it though b/c the work rlly helps w/the speeches. Just do your work and follow instructions. lots of short quizzes. Midterms & final are all multiple choices. The tests are the most difficult thing about this course. Lots of ambiguous questions on tests, but if brought to her attention she'll grade lenient

Professor Frye always seemed like the most genuine and down-to-earth teacher I have ever had. Despite it being online she is able to create a bond between all her students. Friendships easily develop between fellow classmates thanks to her optimism and encouragement that just makes you want to join along. Stop hesitating just take her already!

Nise is a great professor but this past semester when I took her, there was a huge problem with organization. She would always assign her assignments but in staggered times. For example, she'll assign hw today that's due in 2 weeks and 2 days later, assign hw that is due in one week and the following week, assign a debate.

My favorite professor Ive had so far! Shes very caring and understanding. She truly wants to build a relationship with her students. Make sure you participate in class, she will like you better. She loves to hear from her students. Shes a little unorganized with due dates. Overall shes an amazing professor and makes sure you truly understand.

professor frye is hands down one of my favorite professors ever. she is so caring and she really wants the best for every single student she has. she encourages you and actually believes in the quality of you and your work. her class is amazing and i felt like i really learned a lot. prof frye gave me confidence. i recommend the class
