Mrs. Guerin is a lecture type teacher with a great sense of humor. I enjoy her class but don't think you can pass her tests without studying.

Class is pretty easy but her test are very challenging.(mostly essay) Sometimes she makes you feel stupid when you ask her a question. She lectures alot so take good notes.

Awesome lady; she really wants you to learn and if you show the effort, you will be rewarded. Get to know her, she's very helpful when you seek it and this class is fun and small. Bugs suck, but she's a good prof. I've never been so inspired to work hard.

Tough class no matter who would teach it. I thought I would have to kill myself to pass but got a B. Denise is fun and will work with the class on grades-- extra credit, curving. ASK QUESTIONS. Don't let her keep going with the lecture if you don't understand.

Had Ms Guerin for Core Bio 1. She rambles a litle, but is VERY willing to help, especially in lab. Very friendly. Tests are not difficult if you study. Would recommend.

Her tests are really hard. She wants you to know every little detail out of the book. She is very nice and funny, as well as understanding. But that is not going to help you. Her lectures are okay, just ask questions if you don't understand. She gives extra credit that requires a lot of effort/time

She was a great teacher. I had her on her first run of core I and though she didn't have it all perfected she was more than willing to take the time to explain anything you couldn't understand at first. It wasn't that the tests were hard just a little diffucult to understand what exactly was being asked for. Offers extra credit. Would recomend.

General bio class, she is a cute hippie and a good teacher a little hard, but it is college! Get used to it. She tried so hard to get everyone involved.

Quite hard, then again, Im no Bio major, she can be really corny but it is always very very cute, she really does try to help and even though its hard if you bombard her with questions youll be just fine...

She is a very good teacher but you have to devote the time to the class. Read the material and do the work. She will let you know if you do to much to accomplish what could have been simpler. Take the class, the feild trips are anything but boring. Had lots of fun.

If you like nature and doing hands on projects take it. You have to do a lab report for almost every class but as long as you turn it in on time she will allows you to fix it for full credit. If you do that you should get an A or B+ in the class. Test are really hard...don't expect mutiple choice or short answer, it is all paragraph format.

She's hilarious. Kind of goes off tangent sometimes but she keeps you interested in her class.

Very nice (too nice) and helpful. Take notes every day with the exam outline next to u 'cause her test follow the outline pretty closely. Great field trips, some for 10% e.c. to your next test! Tests and project make up the majority of your grade...must give multiple speaches in class.

She is a great teacher, very enthusiastic. She gets a little stuck on the plants and fungi, but if you read and memorize you will be golden, the entire class is memorization! Extremely helpful, and even if bio isnt your thing she keeps it interesting

I ended up bombing the course because I had no interest in the subject. Her lectures were good (the few that I attended). However, I abhorred going to lab: she was easily "distracted" by other students, and I found it hard to stay focused while my peers were preoccupied with kissing her a**. Her lectures MUST be supplemented with textbook readings.

When I was in her class I couldn't stand it, but looking back she was actually a pretty good teacher. Her tests can be really hard if you don't take the time to understand what she's teaching. You def. have to read the book. She offers lots of credit. I worked really hard to get an A but I learned a lot.

Great teacher. The class is difficult but only because the subject is difficult so be prepared to study. She is extremely helpful and likable.

Must read the book. Must attend class. Offers lots of extra credit that can boost you an entire letter grade in the end. Great teacher but challenges her students. Recommended for serious science students

Prof. Guerin is a good professor. Although her tests are VERY hard, she teaches well and tries to help everyone to understand the concepts. Do your homework, the extra credit, and make sure you read. Come to class cause you'll be lost if you don't. Remeber Core bio is hard, no matter who you take.

Professor Guerin is a great and funny professor. There are 4 exams, 2 lab exams, and the final counts as a 5th exam with 1/3 of it being from material just covered and the rest is cumulative. 30 points extra credit offered. MUST READ THE BOOK! All questions from the book, so if you read the book and take good notes, you'll be fine! Good class.

Ms. G is a great teacher.Her tests are hard but its core bio. she tells you on the first daythat this class will be hard. It ISa preprofessional class.Read the material that will be covered before the class.you will know wht to read b/c she gives a layout of all the material covered in the course.if you cant get by theres something wrong with you..

I took her for Core Bio 1 & 2. She is great! Ended up with a B both times I took her. Read the book & look over any worksheets she gives & you will be fine on the tests. Don't expect it to be an easy class, but it certainly is possible to pass.

Awesome teacher! Loved her class, makes things very simple to understand. Not hard on tests, she mentions she wasnt a great test taker herself when she was in college. Everything on tests comes straight from notes in class. Labs are fun, she is VERY helpful if you stay and talk to her. Can relate to you, i HIGLY RECOMMEND taking her class!!!!!

I took Core 1 with her, and I loved it! A lot of people whine because they think she's too tough and her tests are too hard. Honestly, if you take good notes and go to class & lab, you'll be fine. She's a tough grader when it comes to labs, but that's my only complaint. I'm taking her Core 2 class next semester and I'm super pumped!

She's super great, she knows exactly what she's talking about, and is super helpful in office hours. The class itself is challenging, the material you study is not easy, however, she tries her best to help everyone understand the subject. Took her for Core Bio 1, will for sure take her for Core 2.

MRS. G IS THE TYPE OF PROF. WHERE IF YOU GO TO CLASS EVERYDAY, TAKE DETAILED NOTES, GO TO THE COOL FIELD TRIPS, STUDY CONSISTENTLY AND GET A GOOD LAB GROUP (WHICH YOU CHOOSE) TO STUDY WITH, THEN YOU CAN EASILY GET AN A. HER EXAMS ARE LONG BUT SHE GIVES YOU STUDY GUIDES AND EXAM OUTLINES. SHE'S ALSO ONE OF THE COOLEST PROF. THAT I HAVE HAD SO FAR.

I found her lectures to be very straightforward and easy to follow, and she is attentive when it comes to answering questions. Plus, she is among the more easy-going and fun professors I've had! Keep in mind that the tests will be difficult. You will need to read the book in addition to note-taking.

She's a nice lady and relatable but she makes you work for your grade. Her lectures are critical towards passing the tests as well as reading the textbook chapters. I wasn't a big fan of the test questions since they felt like they were trying to confuse you rather than test you, bur her office hours helped me out a lot when I was stuck.

She's very sweet, and her lectures are fun. I really enjoyed her class and definitely learned a lot from it. Make sure to take notes, and write down everything she writes on the board.

I LOVE HER! She is funny, smart and passionate. You can tell she knows her stuff. Pay attention in class! Biology can be difficult so don't expect an easy A. Study. Core 1 is usually a "weed-out" class so you know if you're really up for this major. Pop quizzes are used as extra credit so if you get questions right, you earn points towards tests.

She does a great job teaching the curriculum but you have to put your own work in as well. If you participate she will always help you. She has kind of odd humor but I found it entertaining. Parts of the class are tough but if you study on you own you can do well. Always do the reviews and take advantage of the extra credit pop quizzes she gives!

Professor Guerin is an amazing person. It is very clear that she cares and wants her students to succeed. That being said, it is Core Bio I which is quite difficult. I had to work for the grade I got, and had to put in a lot of work. If you want to skate by and not try, then I would consider changing your major to something non-science.

Professor Guerin is a great professor. The class is heavy on lectures and tests, but if you take good notes and study well, you'll do fine. She did not take attendance much, but you will definitely want to be at class every day. The class and lab were a bit disjointed in terms of material. Overall though, a great and caring professor!

Prof Guerin is a nice lady, the course material is not super tough but she runs an inverted classroom which makes you do more outside of class instead of in the class. 2 field trips where you must have your own transportation to and one project that makes you ride the bus and travel around Gainesville to do. Got a C on all 3 tests and got an A.

Core Bio 1 has been a good ride so far, i plan on taking Core Bio 2 with her in the spring. Mrs G is a smart professor that shows through her lectures. She often mixes in goofy jokes to lighten the material. And although attendance is not mandatory try making it to class you will do much better on the exams and a chance to earn extra credit.

Professor Guerin has a great combination of being very organised, but still having a laid-back personality. -- Labs done in groups -- We did not have to turn in a lab notebook --Test are mostly multiple choice and matching, some very, very short essay. -- Homework doesn't count for many points, but extremely useful to really learn material

Professor Guerin is a nice lady and is very smart. She is pretty accommodating with due dates and such, but she is a harsh grader for the labs. Her exams are difficult and nothing like the lectures. They are doable but require you to study using YouTube and the textbook. If you take her class be prepared to study !
