If you're not really interested in Art, but simply need to fullfill a degree requirement, I would suggest NOT taking ART I, but instead taking Design I with Denise. She is the best!!!

Prof. Lorenz is very quick to be of any assistance. As long as you show up for class and complete the required work...you will have no problems. Our first and third tests were done as a group with our peers as a game show... the second was a written and the final is take home. She is a wonderful teacher!

I was not exctied about taking this class at all. Art Appreciation, how borng. Ms. Lorenz changed all that. She had several hands-on projets that make the class so fun and interesting. Her tests are SO easy and gives extra credit. I took her class in the summer, and it was the easiest class that I have ever taken.

You can either choose an essay test or go on to campus for a multiple choice test. The Essay test is 7 questions and SUPER EASY! Mrs Lorenz is such a great teacher! I took her online class for a late start class for 8 weeks and she is very quick to respond to every email or question you have. She replys back to every post you make and discussion. She has awesome feed back! The class itself is not hard either. The test come right from the study guide! She is crystal clear!

I took her during the summer and was had a death in the family and issues with rebellious teenage daughter, This teacher is so patient and very understanding and cares what goes on in her student's lives. She gives chances for extra credit which are added to final grade and the projects are very fun and creative! Study for tests!!! U will love her!

Professor Lorenz is an excellent teacher. She is willing to work with you if you have scheduling difficulties and offers many opportunities for extra credit. She also takes a personal interest in the individuality of her students and their preferred art forms, rather than teaching the class as a whole. I would definitely take her course again.

Online Art Appreciation was a great class! You have all ther materials via powerpoint to study for the exams - but you must learn the artists and their styles! Great class - I learned alot. Prof. Lorenz is sweet and will go out of her way to help you!

Whether or not you have an interest in art, her encouragement will carry you across the finish line. the class is fairly lenient on our time and it was the most fun I've had in my 60 credit hours. Take her class!

My advice is if you are looking to better your technique do not take this class. She is very disorganized, absent in the idea of constructive criticism and rude. She says one thing and does another.

The best Art teacher ever she is extremely helpful, passionate and caring! Very organized, easygoing lady and lessons available for the entire semester. Ms. Lorenz actually gives you an A. Now, if you do not study for the test shame on you because they are extremely easy. I asked questions the entire semester and not one time did she get agitated.

Professor Lorenz is very passionate about art. She opened my eyes to things I never considered art. She does require discussion questions with every chapter but is very interactive and a relatively easy grader. There are also a few simple art projects that you are required to complete throughout the semester.

Took her for the 3 week mini course. wasn't bad. discussions every day but they were interesting. didn't need book. 3 or 4 easy art projects. grades easy. only bad thing is the all 3 test are 50 questions for 50 minutes.. I hated that.. long slides, but if you study the test review you will fine.. recommend.

What can I say, the best Art teacher ever!!! She is very passionate about Art and will do everything in her power to help you succeed. All assignments are self explanatory and gives great feedback. Would take her over 10 times if I could. I strongly suggest you take her.

The course was online, she was very involved and responses to every assignment. She always gave feedback on all assignments regardless of the weight they held. You could tell she reviewed your assignment thoroughly. With her responses she made you feel that everyone has an inner artist in them, some people just need a little nudge to let it out.

I took this class online over the Winter Mini-Mester. I had no trouble keeping up. 3 tests, lots of discussions. and some extra credit is available. Reviews for tests are given, and all of the answers are in her powerpoints. Some online assignments in InQuizitive are required, but you get to keep trying until you get 100. Easy class. Take her!

Took an 8 week mini. Answers you and grades very quickly. Easy A, do the work and pass. I would take her again in a heartbeat. 1 mini project weekly, 1-2 online quizzes weekly, (no more than 6). 1 discussion weekly. 1 paper. It looks like a lot but she is an easy grader. It really did not take much time to complete the work each week.

I love love love this professor! I am not very good at art, therefore when I took this class I was very nervous. Although, after every assignment she made me feel like an artist. Had her for an online 8 wk course. 17 assignments that were easy she did drop some due to the shorter time. There was 5 extra credit works. She was very kind, accessible, and is online everyday. She grades really fast and gives good feedback on assignments and gives you time to correct things if you'd like. Would take her again I 100% recommend!!

I took this class for the 22 winter mini and it was very manageable! There was a lot of hw, but it was fun art projects! There is a trip to the Houston art museum, but you get in free if you show proof of the hw assignment! Very Sweet Professor! She does not grade hard, all of my project grades and discussion posts were 100% even when I forgot to reply to a classmate. I took this as a fall 8-week course and there were 4 tests using the online textbook which homework assignments are also over. Group project at the end and lots of hands-on art projects.

I took the online 6-week course, which was done in about 5 and there were a lot of assignments, but they were simple. a lot of smartbooks but also a lot of extra credit. She is very kind and understanding, as she gave me an extension without a question on my situation.
