shes very nice and her class is easy just pay attention and everything will be a breeze :O) the labs arent hard they take a bit of time but eveything is pretty much easy!

shipley!! i love her! i had her for AP bio in highschool! and i followed the notes and i made an A, i plan on taking her now! she's a great a teacher! most def take her!

Shipley is an excellent teacher, ultimately teaching for the students. She doesnt have the my way or the high way attitude, and is very understanding! This classes difficulity ultimately depends on what kind of student you personally are. She is helpful, funny, and really makes class a joy! Anyone else who thinks otherwise can kiss it!

Took for summer. If you work full time I don't recommend such a short course. Otherwise, I think Shipley is a great teacher. There was a lot of reading and studying to do. She did recommend studying 12-15 hrs a week. An A is definitely possible, it all depends on the student. You want to learn, this is your teacher. She's funny and really nice.

She is fun. Will work with you. She is understanding. The clas is great and so is she. Prof. Shipley is the best professor that I have had since being at MVC.

If I needed another class that she teaches, I would register right away. Her classes fill up quicky. She explains everything and really helps everyon pass.

Do not take this course in the summer if you are working full time. there is a lab exam every night and 80+ questions test every week. We stayed up late every night, working on the review and study. P.S the professor is hot.

She is great!!! Very sweet and is really helpful and wants you to pass. I wish she taught another class I needed.

I am currently taking Ms Shipley and this is my first Biology class since my sophmore year in HS,which was about 13 years ago. She is very helpful and hilarious as well. If you study for the course,attend class and participate, you will def stay on her good side. I'll let you guys know how I did at the end of the semester :)

dr. shipley is a easy professor for biology. she's explain everything very clear.attendance to lecture n lab is very important b/c it will help you understand the materials.she will help u pass the class. no one should fail this class at all, i mean she's an excellent professor. i'm going to take her again for biology 2.

Professor Shipley is an awesome professor. Wish she had taught BIOL 1407.. Would have taken her without a doubt. She's very helpful and understanding. Also, she loves to chat. I see her all the time when I stop by her office.

All I can say is she was a God send for me. I hated Biology at first. But now I really understand a lot better than what I did when I first began. I am looking forward to taking 1409 with her in the Spring of 2013. I recommend you take her if you want to pass Biology she is worth it!! Great Professor!!

Great class, easy, great teacher fun

She is a very generous and caring professor. She can be unclear and even when she explains again it is still unclear. Her class can be passed but I had trouble understanding her at times because she would jump around the material.

Do all the assignments and you will make a decent grade. Lab was at home and easy to do. Follow the lab video and it will be easy. You must take time out of the week to do your lab and write the lab report. Read the book to do well on the exams. Do the discussions to help your grade, easy 100.

Her class is very easy because she posts study guides. Just follow the study guide that she posts and study that very carefully. In my opinion, if you put work on to it, you will get a very easy A. She is also very fun and funny.

Even though I dreaded idea of taking this course over the summer, I came to soon realize this class was VERY easy to get an A. Shipley is a professor willing to help her students out if they need extra help. Do the work and know whats going on during the lab, you should do relatively well in this class.

Awesome professor!! Nicest professor that I have met at MVC. She is willing to help her students. She follows the syllabus and explains the concept until you get it.

This class may be difficult a lot of memorization but what can you expect it's biology. She is a great teacher helps students. If you have any question you can always stop by her office and she is there to help. She is somewhat fast paced but if you pay closely attention to her you will Catch on quickly! I recommend professor Shipley!

She is very enthusiastic about the subject and will help if you ask for it. She provides study guides for you to complete in order to study for the tests. There are 5 and the last one replaces your lowest grade. There are about 4 lab exams, a couple of in class one pg papers which are easy, and a 3pg paper due at the end of the semester.

Professor Shipley is an awesome teacher that loves her job and her students. I recommend taking Dr. Shipley for both Lecture and Lab.

Very easy class. Most of the tests are in interpretation of what you learned in the book so don't expect to find the answers directly in the book. I made a B+ very easily. Watch for the Discussion questions and you got it.

Loved her morning class, wished however that she would have also had been my lab professor as well. Highly recommend her.

I would recommend anyone who doesn't have a science major and is not that into science take her class. She is very clear and makes the class understandable to people who have no interest in science whatsoever. I took her online class. Labs were fun and easy, quiz answers were all in the book or in an under 10 minute lecture video. Very doable A!

I took Bio1408 online. This particular class was COMPLETELY online. Lab was virtual where you could do all the experiments kind of like a game, and the textbook was free online. The class was a lot of hard work because it was only an 8 week course. There were 4 major exams and simple quizzes over each lecture/chapter. Video lectures are good.

I love Ms Shipley! She's awesome and one of the professor's at MVC. All I can say is TAKE HER!!!! Once she see's u are a hardworking student, she will help you. She is so encouraging and believes in me! I will miss taking her class!

If you have to take 1406, I HIGHLY recommend Shipley. She is such a caring and sweet professor. I never skipped her class because I actually looked forward to going. Her lectures and powerpoints are easy to understand. She's there for you if you have any questions. I would definitely take her again!

Awesome instructor. Responds to emails promptly. Test are ok. Lots of work. Gives two chances to retake tests and exams. Discussions are pretty simple. Quizzes after each chapter (10 questions max) Definitely recommend. I would take again. Pay attention to all information given. I received a low grade, but hey as long as I passed to take A&P 1 & 2

Professor Shipley, is an amazing instructor. She goes over the material until you have it down. She also post video lectures on youtube for you to review to help with your exams. I suggest to attend every class, because it is easy to get behind. I recommend taking her class, you will love her.

Took Professor Shipley's 1408 and 1409 biology class both as a Flex Term. It was challenging because the lab online is time consuming & there were due dates to complete the lab reports, quizzes, & tests. She was very encouraging with the progress we made as a class. There was one group project for both. Only thing need to purchase is latenitelabs.

Professor Shipley is a wonderful professor. If you need help she is delighted to help you. She is willing to go over material you did not understand in lecture. Her tests are very easy if you STUDY!! She provides resources to study exactly what's on the test. The text book is not really necessary.

She is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I was scared about taking bio considering I took it with another professor the semester before and didn't do so good. Her test are all about the study guides and she gives you your extra credit questions, the process papers are in class but you can draw or write about it. Great easy teacher!!

Amazing at what she does! She is pretty easy but it's definitely no walk in the park. The only thing I wish was different was maybe not so many test!

Was hesitant about taking online classes, but Professor Shipley made it so clear and easy! Took her for Biology 1408 and 1409. The labs are probably the hardest part, but they are very doable. She is very sweet and understanding. Highly recommend!

Awesome professor that cares for her students. A lot of lecture exams but as long as you study and complete study guides she provides then you'll pass. You definitely earn the grade you receive in this class so going to class is important.

Took online fast track class. Lots of homework. But loved the online lab. No need to buy lab or visit on campus lab.

Had her for 1408 and 1409 online. Easiest but homework/labs relied on materials covered such as the book (that she got us free), etc. She also gets you to do a paper with 3/4 other peers. Is fast on feedback and cares about students. Lessons online don't last more than 10 mins which covers general materials about what you have to read in the book .

Awesome teacher, I would recommend this class to anyone needing Biology class for non-science major. She answers her emails and responds fast, she allows you to take test twice so if you get a low grade on a test you are able to take it again for a higher grade, now the labs are a little hard, but overall I would definitely take her class again.

Her lectures are very thorough, and she gives you a lot of assignments and practice so in the end you really know the material. THE BEST PROFESSOR. She knows her material and knows how to teach it! I loved her way of teaching. The course is mainly about exams, which are over powerpoints in lecture. She really cares about your understanding in the course and if you're actually learning. Would definitely take her for other science courses.

I took her in january as a fles term course, she was awesome. I am now taking her again, for 1409. She is helpful, understanding, and WANTS you to actually learn the material. She keeps it simple... Leture video, quiz, and lab. Its not an EASY A, you definitely have to work for your grade, but its nothing you can't handle. RECOMMEND! GOD BLESS HER!

Thanks to God that professor shipley was my teacher because, she has what it takes to become a teacher, a motivator, amazing lectuer . She worked with all of us deligently. It was a great deal for me to be able to adapt to the academic system of this country, when I met her she gave me the previlage to prove my selve. God bless her and all!

I enjoy taking her online class. Her quizzes and exams weren't too difficult I really think it's easy. She let's you retake the quizzes and exams twice and take the highest grade. If she had other science class I would take her class again. Enjoy her class so much. Thank you, you are the best. She sends out email reminders what is due for class.

Just finished her Summer 1, 3 week class. Really not that hard, 2 easy discussions, 2 chances to take the quizzes and exams, and all the answers are online. The only real work is making sure you do a good job on the labs. I would recommend this class to anyone needing Biology class.

you just have to make sure you study for the exam because its like 65% of your grade. even so, she gives extra-credit every exam if you passed this short question/ problems she gives during class.

Professor Shipley is very good at what she does. Her exams are a bit lengthy but she always gives you the opportunity to get extra credit for the exam which really helps! Definitely take her for any Biology class!

I loved loved loved, professor Shipley! She is the best professor I have taken at MVC. Her test range from 75 to 100 questions, but if you study you will be fine. She offers extra credit for every exam,if you don not miss more than two days. 5 exams and a final, drops the lowest. Not a easy A, you must work hard to get it.

This was the second time taking Biology 1406 and it was easier than the first time because of the professor. Not only are her lectures interesting, but extra credit was offered to be added to exam grades. You will work for your grade in this class, but it isn't impossible if you study and take good notes in her class.

Good professor. I had her for flex term from January to March. ONLINE. Virtual labs were easy. Take good notes! $60 lab. She has lecture videos. The only thing is the quizzes and exams are all timed 1 minute per question. I'm the type of person that needs to read slowly and think about what I'm reading. It made me rush through but still got an A.

She makes sure that you understand the subject as she is giving the lecture and allows people to approach her and ask questions after each lecture. As long as you study and pay attention during her lectures you will do fine on the exams and other coursework.

Shipley is a very kind person and helps out her students as much as possible. I am not mesmerized by the course. I felt like the lectures were not all that clear or she didn't put enough effort into class activities get better understanding. Most people around me were straight out of high school with previous knowledge & I was 26 playing catch up.

She is a great professor, honestly my favorite Biology Professor so far, I learned alot with the Late Night Labs and her Lectures, it's not a hard class but you do need to pay attention to all the help she gives, other than that she replies fast, and gives feedback! I recommend her to anyone taking her online class.

This class was difficult, but Prof. Shipley is a good professor, she shows concern for her students succeeding in the class. She is easy to talk to, but you must put your best foot forward and do the work. No extra credit is given. Hard Class, But doable, If science is difficult for you, this is a good class to take, but it is not easy.

Shipley offered around 10-13 extra credit points IF you passed her process papers and they add onto each exam grade. The extra credit SAVED me. You will have 5 process papers (EASY) to do. Amazing lectures, bright personality & engaging hands-on activities! 5 exams and final (drops lowest). Study. You wont pass if youre lazy and thats a fact.

free textbook. online lab. recorded lectures. no paper. multiple attempts at tests/exams. flex-class is heavy work load, no breaks. must do in order or will get 0. take lots of notes. review quizlet and tests for exams. can work ahead and finish early. Hard, but interesting.

Took her class this past spring during a flex term. There is a calendar that literally tells you all that you have to complete and when. She doesn't give extra credit or accept late work, mainly because you have enough time to complete everything and its honestly easy. Fast at responding to emails. I'm taking her BIOL1409 now, ya'll should sign up!

Professor Shipley is the best!! I took her for 1408 as a flex term and just finished taking her for 1409 as a mayterm. Her class is challenging and the labs are a bit time consuming but it is great over all. Print the course calendar in order to stay on track!

Professor Shipley is amazing. I took her for the may flex term 3 week course. She is very understanding, I was having trouble with a lab and she responses to emails right away. This was my first time taken a biology class in 10 years and the work was easy. She sends out announcement each time the homework is due. There are 4 exams lockdown browser.

Took her class along with another flex term and while she does give a lot of work (usually read a chapter, do a quiz, do a discussion board, and maybe a lab), they're very easy to complete. We were sent physical lab kits but because they arrived late, she helped sort it out. Very quick to respond to emails! Definetly taking her for BIOL1409!

I took BIOL 1408 and learned so much in her class. I loved Professor Shipley! She worked with me when I had a sick family member. The class had clear instructions that made it easy for me to follow along and was very organized. I enjoyed the textbook because it went with the other material so well.

Pretty easy and interactive course, a million assignments but decently easy. You could never show up to this class and have the same opportunity-to learn and pass the class as any other. She did however cancel quite a few classes.

I took her course online. It is a lot of work but it is also a 4 hour credit course. The work is very easy. It does take a lot of time. You are going to get that amount of work no matter who take for 4 credit course. I really would recommend this course if you are needing to take a Biology. The work is VERY EASY!!!!!!

Took her Bio class spring of 2021 she was great, very understanding. She makes sure everyone knows the material before she moves on to the next thing. I would go in person to understand things more, exams were online . if you study you will pass!

She was a very kind and nice teacher, she made me feel cared for as a student. As she does give out tests every week it's nothing complicated, they are just like her lectures. She made use of everyone's understanding of the lecture and her labs. best teacher I've had.

I took the online course and I just finished the class and got an A, I can tell you she is the absolutely best Biology teacher I know. She is so caring and her coursework calendar is a lifesaver. All you have to do is complete everything on time and you will get an A for sure. Exams and discussion boards are pretty easy!

I took biology 1406 before this and did horrible no matter how much time I studied and prepped for. Luckily I took a 8 week course with this professor and it was too easy as I got an A+! I know biology can be stressful but not with this professor. Everything went by fast and smoothly to the point where It didn't even feel like college work!

Professor Shipley's class was great! Truly a non-science major class that didn't overwhelm me but still excited me about science. The online labs were super cool, and most assignments were a turn it in on time and get an automatic 100. Textbook was easy to understand and exams were relevant. She replies quickly too and is always willing to help!

Great class for 1406 online, labs and homework like every single day, so be ready to give all your time to this class. Other than that, it was a easy A. NO cameras needed for this class when it came to tests.

This class was very clear and all assignments were posted ahead of time. I recommend this class, but just don't get behind. All assignments are separated by weeks. The exams do require lockdown browser but they are covered by the material. Assignments include reading chapters, smart books, and labs for each chapter. Wish I could do Bio 2 with her.

Professor Denise makes the material engaging and manageable. Attending lectures is a must, but she offers great support. I found unstuck study really helpful for quick prep too.
