Dr. Denise is so smart. She is a role model, and is totally commited to her students. Her lectures are entertaining and very informative, I actually LIKED going to class!

She created this class to make an easy BIO class for non majors. It's a great class, and she makes it tons of fun. She gives great lectures and makes the subject matter fun and easy.

Dr. Signorelli always comes to class with a smile. Her enthusiasm shines through to us students, which shows that she really cares about teaching. I wish I had a teacher like her in high school, I definitely would have studied harder. She is sexy too!

Great teacher! Very helpful and knowledgeable. Makes you look forward to going to class and very nice. I would take this teacher again for another bio class. True you have to read and keep up on assignments to do well, but as long as you do that, it's okay:)

I liked this class. It was huge, but I still liked it. She made it feel like you had her attention. The only thing I didn't like in her class was the research paper and having to choose those specific topics. I'm not too excited when someone tells me I have to do that, but other than that, she gave everyone the chance to get an A.

I thought this class was very easy and that the teacher was an excellent teacher. For those that feel that she was hard maybe you should take study skills courses to learn how to study. we had "average" people in our class still pulling B's in the class with less than 1 hour of studying. So maybe it wasn't the teacher's fault you weren't doing well

She is a good teacher, fun and easy to learn from. Can't go wrong with her.

If you're used to taking notes. Forget it in this class! She uses power point and goes pretty fast to cover a vast amount of information. On the plus side, her tests are way easy. As long as you read the chapters and visit the text books website for additional notes and outlines, you'll be guaranteed an A. Her class was still very interesting.

Took Denise for a lab class and found her to be very helpful. She is the head of the lab sections for 189 so she can answer any questions you have. She explains topics thoroughly and will go over again if necessary. She made the labs exciting by trying to connect with each student. I highly recommend taking Prof. Signorelli for any BIO class.

A+++ YUP, she's the BEST. If you don't like hard classes, LEAVE COLLEGE, it's supposed to be hard! Dr. Denise is extremely helpful, nice and funny (weekly jokes) She KNOWS her stuff!! She will go out of her way to help you succeed but YOU have to TRY she already went to school and did the work.

Dr signorelli is one of the best professors to pick if you are doing a biology class. She is straightforward and to the point at what you need to know for exams, and she never makes you memorize all the details which helps when your'e trying to study. Just show up to class, study and you'll do good on the exams.

Dr Signorelli is a great professor! Her style and sense of humor keep class interesting. Her lectures are never boring. She does go a little fast, (lots of info to cover,) but if it worries you, bring a recorder. If you want to learn a lot and actually have FUN while doing it, Dr Denise is the way to go. Dr. Denise is a very smart woman. Her lectures are very informative. Unfortunately, You have to invest a lot of time outside of class to pass. The class is very hard only 13 out of 57 passed FALL 07. Take good notes, use the cd that comes w/the book, and attendance is mandatory. Stick with it and only the determined will survive the first round.

She is very helpful and she explains everything in easy to understand language.

Dr. Signorelli is a great teacher. She would help you on every question that you have. Online, she always replies quickly so you get your answers right away. She's a little fast in class because she needs to go with the schedule. She always tries to keep the class fun and educational. You need to study and read for every class, including this one.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Dr. Signorelli is one of the best professors I've ever had. She never said anything remotely condescending, she just has an immense love for Biology. She is very helpful, always available for questions. This is not a hard class at all, you just need to read the book and it's pretty self explanatory.

Also, to add onto that last comment: The only reason anyone will have a hard time with this professor is if they don't listen and ask the same question after she has just answered it. Don't be threatened by her knowledge and take it for her being full of herself because she isn't.

Signorelli is incredibly smart. The class (like all others!) is what you make of it. If you don't study, and expect to pass, you are sadly mistaken. She offers copious amounts of time for students to ask questions, even to meet her in her office or in the tutoring area. If you need help, ask-don't discount her just because you received a poor grade

She is one of the best teachers i have ever had. She is really funny, always opens with a joke. Although she can be a bit tough sometimes. She offers alot of opportunities to get good grades, she holds study sessions, and is always available to help. She a great teacher, not easy, but you will learn alot from her. She is a good teacher she was very helpful to me and never seemed rude when i needed help with webct. She usually had very good instructions and when you dont understand them she'll help you and her assignments arent to hard. overall she is a good teacher and willing to help.

I took Bio 109 (Nutrition) online in summer 2009. She was very understanding with tech. difficulties I was having uploading documents in the beginning. She gives you tips and feedback on your diet analysis. She really cares about helping her students understand. You are able to review your exams and attempt them again. A great prof. Take her! :)

Wow! She is a great professor and really makes the class fun. On top of that you actually learn valuable concepts. With moderate work, you can have a high 'A' for sure. She was very helpful and responds to questions with the speed of lightning; once within minutes. She was fantastic and I really enjoyed the class and what she brought to it!

I am taking Dr. Signorelli's class this semester, and although I find some of the material rather challenging, I think she is an awesome instructor. She is very helpful, very funny. It's a joy to be in her class. Work hard unless you're a Biology whiz, and you'll get a good grade. Understanding concepts equals success in this class.

Dr. Denise is great! She is so encouraging and will answer ANY question, ANY time! The exams are not easy, but there is A LOT of material to cover in this course. Dr. Denise is the best! The people that give her bad comments are the ones that couldn't handle bio 189. If you attend class every day and do the work, it is very easy to get an A. If you want an "easy A", you are not ready for 189 or any medical program that 189 is a prerequisite for. This class is meant to be difficult to weed out the slackers!

Biol 121 Nutrition, if you need an easy science "A", this is it. I don't know about here 189 class, but 121 is online and all you have to do is attempt to do the already easy assignments. She answers all emails quickly and engages all the students. This is an online class but it's almost an A for participating.

Currently taking her lab class right now. Wish I had her for lecture too. I was terrified at first because a lot of students are saying she's not easy. Smart. Intelligent. Makes biology easy for students (at least for me). Answers all questions. I highly recommend her! It doesn't matter if I get an A or B in her class. She is simply the best!

*ONLINE CLASS* Dr. Denise is very pleasant and responds very quickly to e-mails. The assignments are pretty easy, so long as you attempt them. You have 4 exams (including the final) and you get to take them TWICE. You keep the higher scores. You also learn a lot about your health habits. GOOD CLASS, take her!

I had her for Bio 189 lab and lecture. GREAT teacher! Her lectures are entertaining as well as informative. She explains concepts well and offers help outside of class. Attendance is a must because she tells you what will be on the tests. Highly recommend her!

I had Dr. Signorelli for Biology 189. Her class was very lively and interesting. She likes to tell jokes and tell interesting stories, so the lecture is never dull. However, attendance is mandatory, and although she tries to make the tests easy, it is a very hard class in general and you will need to study a lot to get a good grade.

Dr. Signorelli is a fantastic teacher. Her lectures are fun and engaging. As hard as the class is, she tries to make it as easy as possible. This is THE online class for non-science majors looking for 1 of their science requirements. You eat everyday, right? Well then, you may as well take this Nutrition class! Assignments are on a steady pace & you can take the exams 2x each. Study off the 1st one & you should then score higher on the 2nd. Some assignments are time consuming and others

Biol 121 was cool. Complete the assignements on time and study for the tests and your more than likely to get a good grade. The only thing that ticked me off about the professor were the snooty comments she made afer grading every assignment. She came off very sarcastic and rude. But I took her class online so maybe its different in a classroom...

Great class for non-majors. An assignment every week - some time consuming and some super easy. Comments weren't rude, just straight forward. i.e. "You obviously don't exercise enough". This is a great class to mix in with hard ones.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Signorelli, I adore her!! She is one of the few teachers in the world who actually loves to teach. The subject matter is difficult but she is SO helpful and very approachable. I highly, highly recommend her!

PROS: Subject matter expert. Fun class. She knows you by name unlike other instructors that knows you by face & not by name. Starts off with a joke to make you feel at ease. Online 6-week summer course. A lot of material and fast paced but well structured. Allows you to take tests twice. Dr. Signorelli is outstanding and really cares about her students and is passionate about her subject (human nutrition). If you do the work you will do well. She makes you think about what you?re eating. Highly recommended.

Moves very fast so recommend recording lectures. People who did well on all the exams just studied past exams she posts on webcampus. Keeps it interesting and applies it to real life situations. Final based on past exam questions only! Great teacher, but you must pay attention and attend class to pass.

If you are not prepared to study, and study hard, get out of the sciences and take a Poly Sci class. All these whiners who take pot-shots at this gem of a professor are just slackers who did not put forth the necessary effort. Denise uses multiple graded projects along with tests. She is affable and compassionate.

Professor Signorelli is one of those rare gems you find when you least expect it! She is willing to go the extra mile for her students and if you are in school to learn then you are going to love her class! If you just want a free ride or you're in it for the free money (financial aid) then good luck, you're going to need it!!!

Not terrible, but not great either. Goes REALLY fast. Will take a little time to explain, but not much, and sucks to be you if you can't keep up. Many people were being taught by classmates in the hall before lab. Also, if she's in a bad mood it shows in her teaching AND her grading. Fake an emergency, go home and take a different lab that week.

This class is pretty tough, but she is helpful! You can find flashcard questions that are very similar to the test. Study those & it should help! She's really nice & funny most of the time. The class isn't that bad.

If you do not have enough time to study take it. This class is easy science class if you pay attention to the rubric. 4 exams multiple choice and weekly assignments. You can always visit her office and ask a question if you do not understand. She will make you to stop eating junk food.

If you follow the assignment rubric guidelines you will do fine and participate in discussions.

I enjoyed Ms. Signorelli's Biology class. She often tied in concepts relatable to students to tied in , which made lectures a whole lot more interesting. Read and highlight the book, as well as do the mini quizzes. Study, and although she says study like nine hours a week, it really isn't that necessary. Focus and grasp the concepts.

2 class presentations, gives you the test questions, but still tests are hard. You have to study.

Dr Signorelli is the best !! She is an inspiration and honestly such a sweet professor. I used to go to her office often and she's always there with a smile ready to help!! Made a lot of us laugh the first day. Lectures are kind of long but interesting and pays a great effort to the details of cells and genetics. Professor has a profound interest in oncology, and willing to discuss more in research papers if you ask her. Dr. Signorelli is even willing to stay a few minutes back to help explain anything else!

I could start by saying that taking a professor like Dr Signoreli is the reason why attending CSN was the best choice of my life, but there is absolutely no teacher "like" Dr. Signoreli. I've never seen more love, warmth, and enthusiasm to help students. No amount of characters no matter how limited could express how amazing Denise is as a person.

If your interested in learning about nutrition I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Signorelli! :) I took her online class, as long as you put in the effort you'll earn a good grade. The exam with the lowest score is dropped and you get two chances to take each exam, there are four total. Also, there are weekly discussions they're easy and on interesting topics.

She seems very intimidating to ask for help, but once you understand her sass and her teaching style you'd love her. She is clear on directions and sympathizes with her students. I recommend everyone to take her as a lab professor. Such a funny lady.

She gives the best feedback! You have to do food diaries and say what you ate and she doesn't judge at all. She actually suggest how you could do better. There are discussions. Reply to at least two people not with "Great post" but have some input. I learned a lot in this class. Easy A if you just do what you're supposed to do. Online textbook

We ALL have responsibilities & if I, a high school "drop out", can get an A in her nutrition class, it's not because I thought it was easy, it's b/c I put the much needed time & effort into studying the material. This woman tells it like it is and does not appreciate slackers - while being super supportive if you've demonstrated you're not looking to cut corners but are willing to do the work. Add to this a good measure of sass and you're in for a memorable semester. This is not an easy class but expectations are clear and the professor is happy to help.

I don't understand why there's negative comments about her. She is by far the best teacher I've ever had. Very helpful and she go over materials for the quiz just as long as you attend the lab. Of course she doesn't like to see lazy and irresponsible students. You gotta show her that you care about school and your grades by working hard.

IF YOU Show Effort/Willingness to Work, THEN she will go ABOVE AND BEYOND to help you understand the material (offers more time outside office hours, gives great feedback, inspirational). Dont be disrespectful by playing on your cellphone in class. Dont expect a grade that you did not earn either. This professor loves her job and it shows!

A very sweet lady!! Shes been through A LOT with her personal life so it explains past negative reviews. But now shes super nice, willing to help and even offer to buy you lunch! No study guides but she goes over everything very well. Just print out her slides and right side notes and exams will be piece of cake! You have to TRY.

If you are from the "snowflake" generation, you might not get her humor. If you want to learn Biology and EARN an A+, attend every class, pay attention and if you need something clarified bring it up right away. She gladly pauses during lectures to carefully answer questions. If you have a group project, be sure to get every student involved.

By far the best professor I have had here at CSN. Dr-Signorelli makes you want to come to class to learn about some pretty straightforward material. I took 196 and 197 with her. Professor Denise is really fair with her grading. Although her test are challenging and based on the application and understanding of the material taught, she does grade tests on a curve. She also gives opportunities to make up missing homework. She is almost always accessible iIf there is something unclear, just ask.

She has very detailed tests so be prepared to study hard. She also has a low tolerance for shenanigans, but I like that. Super helpful and knowledgeable. Its not easy, but if you love biology its worth it, and to be honest it will only get worse from here. She helped me understand how I learn and how to study better.

very straight forward about what she expects. Yes its hard. Yes you study a lot. but this is college. Denise is a rough around the edges person. I know for a fact that she cares about her students learning. and I also can say from experience that she is more than willing to meet and go over anything. negative remarks are people that didn't do work.

This class was the hardest class I have ever taken. The professor truly cares about her students but she also expects them to work very hard. Her exams are very difficult because of the way they are written. With all that said, taking her class taught me more than any other class, but it also broke my 4.0 GPA. Take her only if you want to learn.

Genuinely one of the best professors Ive had. She is so helpful and is there whenever you have a question. Shes quick with responses and shes happy to explain a topic if you have difficulty understanding it. You have to study for exams and if you dont put in the work yourself, you wont do well.

Bio 251 Lab: Please take her!! I do not understand why there is a single bad review. She is extremely helpful and really wants to help her students pass/succeed. She is not a tough grader, gives helpful study tips. Will help you through the experiments that you do not understand. She is funny and sarcastic so learn to take a joke.

Lectures consisted of the powerpoints she provides on canvas. Went over everything from the syllabus. The final was fun because it said 70% of questions would be reused, so it was easy if you keep the exams and studied them. Lots of Pearson homework assignments (small portion of grade) and lets you come up with questions for exams. Just gotta study

Since this site likes to only put up bad comments for this amazing professor and deletes the ones that actually tell the truth, here goes nothing. This is a class you have to work for, and she is always there to help. This is college and not high school, so learn to toughen up. I have learned so much from this professor and I can only thank her.

One of the most proficient professors ! Its college people, do your own due diligence to ensure you get the grade you want. Study, take notes and ask questions. Always available for extra assistance on or off campus and even email ! Granted biology is a difficult subject which is no fault of the professor if your unable to learn adequately.

She does go through materials fast but, powerpoints are accessible online. Exams are mostly made from reused questions from practice exams she posts to canvas. The course material is difficult, so you will need to study for exams. She loves class participation and loves when students visit her during office hours. She can have a temper.
