Tests are hard, and gives quizzes. Shes really informative, and puts notes on blackboard. BUT YOU NEED TO ATTEND CLASS. Not only cause she takes attendance, but also cause youll miss a lot of info that will not be in the book-and it will be on the test.

Take good notes and go to class and its pretty easy. Pretty good teacher.

Her test are very hard, but everything else is extremely easy, she is a great teacher.

I love Ms. Spivey. She is an excellent teacher. I actually looked forward to attend history class. She post all notes on the web, you take online quizzes (which are really easy), she will help you in anyway possible. I really enjoyed her course.

Ms. Spivey is very easy to understand and knowledgeable about the subjects she presents. Her tests are almost exactly like her study guides.

she gives quizzes online which are easy but the test are hard. you HAVE to be in class every time to pass. she has a dirty mouth, cusses alot. and if you know much about history you will see that she doesn't. i do NOT recommend her.

She was very helpful, you have attend class and take notes if you want to pass her class. Test designed like study guide, so if you do study guide you will pass the tests. I took AMH 1041 and 1050 the same semester on different days,it was hard but I made 2 A's. It was confusing keeping track of the info for each class take them different semesters

she is very good teacher and a interesting person, but her tests are a little tough. as long as you don't miss class, you might be fine.

She is really down to earth and more excited an intreged by her subject than most. Almost everyone has something good to say about her. If there is a question about class attendence, then you should not be in college. It should be mandatory for any class. Foreign policy shold be a large part of any adult's learning. IT MATTERS!

Pretty good instructor. She is at times a little all over the place but overall a good teacher. YOU SHOULD ATTEND LECTURE as much as possible...it will seriously help you out on exams. Read the material for quizes even though they are online and you can take them a million times. Good class.

An ok teacher midterms are really hard, i will see how the final is. Is a real B about coming to class late even a minute. Gives out powerpoints, and lots to read. I wouldn't take her again.

She uses powerpoint to emphasize main ideas and has anecdotes as well. Very interesting. I have never taken history in college, had no interest in it and now I have a few biographies that I want to read because of her class. She's passionate about the subject and conveys that in her class.

If you are a good note taker and test taker this is the class for you! If you dont do well on test then I recommend picking another teacher. She is very nice and loves this subject. All lecture, extra credit quizes have to do with the book! but no homework and one 1000 word essay. Good teacher, stay focused!

What a goofy teacher. You can make a good grade in her class if you just do well on her tests. She's a great teacher, except her notes are LONG and boring. I would fall asleep all the time. Overall though I liked the class and thought she was fun.

U "MUST" take notes throughtout everything she is explaining in class. Staying awake is a struggle. You have a study guide that is only helpful if you took notes. Since she doesn't grade you on much you have to pass her quizzes which are impossible to pass unless you read the book on your own time. I figured all of this out late so I dropped her.

Excellent teacher. Tests are the only grade in this class, but if you come to class, take notes, and follow the study guides, you'll be fine. She also offers quite a bit of extra credit, including attendance sometimes, so try to show up as often as you can.

This lady is a good teacher but has a serious issue with people walking out of class. Your not allowed out unless your intestines are spilling out onto the floor.... Only 3 grades in the whole class and a little extra credit but she can be pretty annoying with it.

She has a very engaging class room environment and doesn't require you to use the textbook. She doesn't like it if you leave the classroom a lot but if you say you aren't feeling well she won't mind. She gives really easy extra credit quizzes so you can easily get a good grade.

Great overall teacher. She is very interested in teaching her students in a unique and fun way. She loves to learn new things and hear feedback from her students. Most history teachers can be very very boring, she is not one of them. It is very easy to get a good grade in her class, just show up and be attentive in class. (not asking to much)

She is a very nice teacher. Attendance is not mandatory, but I would suggest you go to class because you will lose out on a boat load of notes(not that notes will help anyway). We asked her could we use notes and she said, "if you use your notes, you would do more worse than if you wouldn't use notes." Her class also requires ALOT of writing.

Great teacher,you have to take a lot of notes. She doesn't use the book much beccause she uses powerpintss but she does espect you to read it. Please follower her rules on being late to class and using cellphones because she don't mind stopping in the middle of a lecture to say something. Besides that awesome and I hate history.

Dr. Spivey is an awesome teacher very energetic. there's a lot of lectures but they are interesting. and you don't need book or have to attend class but you will want to, it will make test easier. oh yeah don't be more than 15min late to class cause you wont be allowed to attend. and its embarrassing walking in class and getting turned back around.

Loved her class, she is a very nice person and makes lectures interesting by not just reading off of power points, she adds lots of pictures and graphs to help you get a full understanding, very helpful, comet to class because she will cover a lot, take her!!!

Dr. Spivey is awesome! I took her for AMH2010 and AMH2020. I hated history pri to taking her class. I received an A in both classes. She makes learning interesting by having discusions with the class so you are involved. She has an exciting teaching style that keeps you interested. I recommend her to everyone I know taking a history class.

She was so nice and she really cared. Dont be on your phone or talk during class or she will call you out on it. She lets you do two extra credit papers which you can turn in anytime. The extra credit papers are based off a movie you pick and watch on your own time. You have to show up to class because you need to take notes on what she says.

She is incredibly nice and jokes around a lot. I enjoy history but sometimes her lectures dragged on so long that I found myself nodding off. I am rarely one to fall asleep during class, especially in a subject in which I find interesting. All in all I did enjoy her class. Make sure you study extra hard for the essay questions on tests!!

if you attend class and follow to a T you can pass with an A.. but her lectures along are interesting enough for attendance very funny.. has a reenacting to the past component to the course though be ready for that

She's a really great teacher!! I took the express session and it wasn't hard at all, there's tons of extra credit opportunities so you will get an A if you just put in some effort. Coming to class matters because there's reading and sometimes quizzes on the reading but nothing is ever that hard. She's a great teacher and you can get an A.

Dr Spivey is probably one of the best history professors I've had. The in class simulations are very engaging and teach you so much about the whys of historical events and periods. she's straightforward and honest about what sin the class and willing to take on even the most esoteric questions about history, as long as its some what relevant.

Dr. Spivey is a fantastic history professor that is truly passionate about her work. If you pay attention you can learn a lot. This was probably the easiest class I've ever taken since middle school and I ended the year with a 120%. Anyone can pass if they show up to class, it's all participation. If you can't pass, maybe college isn't for you.

She does a mixture of lecture and in class games that helped us further understand the topics we were learning. Winners of the games received extra credit. There was a lot of group work but it wasn't bad. One group project, group quizzes, and the group games. Content was easy to understand and she made the content more interesting. Overall great.

Ms. Spivey made history amazing! She has simulations where if you participate, you have the ability to build up crazy amounts of extra credit. Her lectures are amazing, but you do have to take notes. There was never a boring moment in her class, and I recommend her to anyone who loves history, and loves an easy (and fun to get) good grade.

Dr. Spivey was a terrific professor! She had best lectures. Better than any other professor I've had. She might seem tough on grading, but she makes up for it with tons of extra credit! It is easy to get over 100 in her class. But she is particular about staying in class. She doesn't like when students get up and leave. SIMULATIONS were AMAZING!

I am not a fan of history, but Mrs. Spivey made history interesting to me. We watched a couple of movies in her class and would have to do movie reviews, had simulations, and so so much extra credit. I had so much extra credit by the end of the semster that I didn't even have to take the final. If you do all of the extra work it really pays off.

lots of extra credit! get an A in the class and u dont have to take the final. only one other test which was the midterm. very straight forward and tells you exactly what you need. I am AWFUL at history and ended with an A. you watch around 5 movies which helps your grade a lot.

Please believe me when I say I hate history ! My second time taking this class because I failed with the last teacher and I must say she is awesome ! Her lectures arent boring , she is interesting and you learn a whole lot ! I loved this teacher ! She gives a lot of extra credit so you will be fine ! I recommend taking this class

I really love this teacher it just sucks with how much I hate American history. Id do better in this class if she had all the notes on power points instead of just saying it. There are two tests and a bunch of quizzes. For our first test she tested us on things we hadn't even learned yet.

The best history professor by far! Her lectures are more of a story telling which helped keep us entertained and really helped with retaining the information. SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT! The amount of extra credit I had (which was super easy to obtain) added up to where I didn't even need to take any test or the final exam. Participation matters though

She was honestly the best professor I've ever had! She made it extremely easy to learn the material and pass the class. Class was engaging and interesting, and I really did have fun! The main thing you have to do to pass her class is participate... you pay attention, take good notes, and do all the work and extra credit, you'll do great!

I loved Professor Spivey's class! It wasn't too hard, but you won't pass if you put zero effort in. I took it before covid, so I'm not sure what its like on zoom, but in class we had projects that were actually fun and made the material interesting to learn about.

Professor was an amazing teacher. I hate history and passed with ease. You just write movie papers and do reading quiz and participation for your grade. She gives a lot of extra credit. You go to class just for participation points. Very easy A especially for those who do not do well with history.

Shes a great professor. Attendance is mandatory and so is participation but I missed a few classes due to court and she was very understanding. She respects her students so be respectful of her and shoot her an email if you are going to be absent, need clarification on assignments etc. I have her through zoom and her lectures are great.

Professor Spivey was one of the nicest and most respecting professors I've had. She's extremely understanding. No pop quizzes and only requires a few essays written throughout the semester. Would take her course again in a heart beat.

Dr.Spivey is an amazing professor, she teaches without it feeling like you are being taught, would take her class again. Asks participation questions but they are easy to answer, and there are a couple of movie papers but the rest of the work can be done it an hour or two. There is no final unless you need it for AMH2020.

Dr. Spivey is one of the nicest people ever! When I took her class it was point based. You start at zero and each assignment adds points. Do not pay attention to your average in canvas. Just earn as many points as you can. 200 points is an A+ 100%. This way you chose what assignments you want to do when its convenient. She is very responsive!

Dr. Denise Spivey is a hilarious woman and an amazing professor. Although she may be behind on grading because she is drowning in paperwork, as long as you participate in her class, your should pass with an A+. I passed with a 129% due to the many extra credit opportunities provided and my participation in the history simulations she conducts.

Professor Spivey is such an easygoing professor. As long as you come to class and participate, you are fine. I missed many days and did not do the last 2 weeks' worth of assignments and passed with a 112%. Dr. Spivey uses the point system instead of percentages so be aware of how to calculate your grade (she will help you).

Professor Spivey is the best!! She is so easy going and gives you lots of opportunities to get a good grade. Grades are not based on percentage but points and she gives you many many points opportunities + points for weekly participation.

Denise Spivey is a dedicated and educated history professor. She loves her job, students, and all things history. Her class is on a 200 grading scale, she offers many assignments you can choose from. Assignments ranging from movie reviews, podcast reviews, and short article quizzes. It is very easy to get an A! I recommend Denise Spivey!

She's Great! She is very fun and engaging in the classroom. The final exam is optional and the courseload is pretty light. You can easily pass if you put in a decent amount of effort.

Professor is great but work was slightly difficult. Lots of homework but if you get the points in the beginning you don't have to do anything at the end. Lectures are interesting and you get points for going to class. Assignments consist of papers based on movies and podcasts and some mini quizzes. Final is optional and no written tests. Loved it!

Love love love this professor. Wish I could take ten more classes with her just to listen to her lectures. She is very straight-forward about how to get an A in the class and she is extremely engaging. She is thoughtful to learn everyone's names and encourages in-class discussion that isn't boring.

Honestly you should take this class because it's so easy to pass. Grading system is A-Tier, and Professor is amazing. Honestly, if you need to take a history class, take this one.

One of the best professors I have had, great lectures, was funny, easy to grade, just participate well, and you'd get good grades. You're in college to get a degree not for entertainment.

Take this class if you want to have a really easy going experience especially with the work load, you can do it all from home and extra credit is always available. She's also very sweet and understanding so just show up to class , you get extra points for that too

Very easy class. Points-based, and you don't have to do all assignments. Do not get the textbook. You don't need it. You need 180 points to pass; she gives easy EC 5 points at least 4 times. Papers can be turned in as notes for partial credit. Very nice professor and understanding. Funny and entertaining lectures. Rewards participation.

She was an all around amazing teacher. She uses a unique grading scale that's based off points and not percentages, this gives you the chance to secure an A halfway through the semester and not have to show up to class ever again. She also doesn't give out test which was great. Showing up to class at first is definitely important though.

Super easy class to pass! While her lecturing can get old, if you do enough assignments and go to class, you can obtain an A before the semester is over based on her point system. She is also just a very nice person and is willing to help students. Overall, a very easy A and an enjoyable professor that helps you pass.
